Rotina McCoy Sheppard
Rotina McCoy-Sheppard, 45, a native of Kingsport and former owner of Rotina’s By The River Art and Frame Gallery, Weber City, VA, went to be with the Lord Sunday (November 11, 2007), after a brief battle with breast cancer.
An artist from a very early age, Rotina’s art has won several awards, including Kingsport’s Fun Fest Barrel painting and various art shows. Rotina was a member of the Kingsport Art Guild and enjoyed working in clay and paint with her friends at the Kingsport Senior Citizens Center. Rotina attended Ketron and graduated from North High School. She had worked many years in picture framing prior to opening her own gallery.
She is survived by her husband David Sheppard, Jonesborough, TN; parents, Denver and Kathy McCoy, Kingsport, TN; sisters, Rhonda Begley, Kingsport, TN, Robin McCoy, Seymour, TN; brothers, Randy McCoy and wife Katrina, Kingsport, TN, Rickey McCoy, Chesnee, SC; step-daughter, Michelle Sheppard, Kingsport, TN; granddaughter, India Sheppard, Kingsport, TN; special nieces and nephews, Crystal and Cathlyn Coats, Jamie, Jared and Seth Sullivan, Heath, Eric, BJ, Lesha, Kayden and Uriah McClellan and D’Artagnan McCoy; Several aunts, uncles, and cousins as well as other family members and lots & lots of friends who loved her dearly. All will miss her smiling face, but will rejoice in her new home with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
Calling hours will be 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, (November 13, 2007) at Carter-Trent Funeral Home, Kingsport. Family and friends may also visit anytime at the home of Kathy and Denver McCoy, 852 East Independence Drive.
Funeral services will be 7 p.m. Tuesday in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Charles Bogle and Rev. Oscar McCoy officiating.
Graveside services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday (November 14, 2007) at Chestnut Flats Church cemetery, Lucy Road. Pallbearers will be Gilbert McNutt, Eric McClellan, Bo McClellan, Jerry Sheppard, Randy McCoy, Tommy McNutt, Paul Brummitt and Katrina McCoy; Honorary Pallbearers will be BJ McClellan, Heath McClellan and Frank Pook. Friends and family who wish to attend are asked to meet at the cemetery by 10:55 a.m.
In lieu of flowers donations will be accepted by Rhonda Begley, 852 E. Independence Drive, Kingsport, TN, 37660.

Kevin Lee Jones
Kevin Lee Jones, 34, of Fall Branch, Tenn., went to be with the Lord at his residence Sunday, (November 18, 2007).
He was a lifelong resident of Sullivan County and was a graduate of Sullivan South High School in 1991. He was formerly on the Board of Directors of the Kingsport Boys Club. Kevin was the owner of Computer Associated Technology of Kingsport for the past 16 years.
He was preceded in death by Billy and Tressie Jones and James C. Blizard.
Kevin is survived by his parents, Jimmy L. Jones and Karen Blizard Jones, Fall Branch; grandmother, Beulah Williams, Kingsport; aunts and uncles, Belinda Blizard, James Timothy Blizard, both of Surgoinsville, Louella Freshour, Mosheim, and Acie D. Jones of Fall Branch; also several cousins and great aunts and uncles.
Calling hours will be Friday (November 23, 2007) from 3 to 7 pm at Carter-Trent Funeral Home, Kingsport.
Funeral service will be held at 7 pm Friday at the funeral home with Rev. Greg DePriest officiating.
Entombment will be at Oak Hill Mausoleum, Saturday (November 24, 2007) at 10 am with Rev. Greg DePriest officiating. Pallbearers will be Trevor Bellamy, Adam Free, Toby Lett, Rusty Mays, John Feathers, Matt Tipton, Bobby Wines, Chris Deaderick. Brian Hayworth, Randy Johnson and Andy Law will be serving at honorary pallbearers. Friends and family wishing to attend are asked to meet at the Mausoleum at 9:55 am.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Millcreek Baptist Church, 449 Church Road, Fall Branch, TN 37656 or the Kingsport Boy's Club, 213 Lee Street, Kingsport, TN 37660.

Virgie Lea Howe Deavers
Virgie Lea Howe Deavers, 80 of Kingsport, Tenn. peacefully went to be with the Lord on Monday, (November 19, 2007) at Greystone Healthcare following an extended illness.
She was born in Mt. Pulaski, Illinois, Ms. Deavers had lived in the Kingsport area for the past 12 years. She was a member of Latham Baptist Church in Latham, Il.
Virgie was preceded in death by her son, Randy Rae Deavers; parents, Thomas and Mable Roberts Howe and a brother.
She is survived by her daughter, Wanda Sue Clark, Kingsport; son, Wallace Samuel Deavers, Jr., Lincoln, Il; 3 grandchildren; 3 great grandchildren; and several other family members.
Calling hours will be Tuesday (November 20, 2007) from 5 – 7 pm at Carter-Trent Funeral Home, Kingsport.
Ms. Deavers will be transferred to Fricke-Calvert-Schrader Funeral Home in Mt. Pulaski, Illinois where services will be conducted at a later date.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Shekinah Church 394 Glory Road, Blountville, TN 37617.

Donald Eugene Lovin
Kingsport - Donald Eugene Lovin, 70, Kingsport, passed away Monday (November 19, 2007) at Wellmont Holston Valley Medical Center.
He was born in Hawkins County, TN (Mooresburg). He served in the U. S. Air force for over four years. He was retired as president of Micrographic Systems; Corp. Mr. Lovin was a member and past president of Colonial Heights Eagles Club, 1989-1990. He was of the Baptist faith.
He was preceded in death by his father, Ernest S. Lovin; brother, Dale A. Lovin.
He is survived by his wife Jean Lovelace Lovin, of the home; mother, Arlena Fancher Lovin, Kingsport; sister, Gail Barr, Kingsport; several nieces and nephews.
Calling hours will be 12 noon to 2 p. m. Friday (November 23, 2007) at Carter-Trent Funeral Home, Kingsport.
Funeral services will be 2 p.m., Friday, in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Jonathon Lovelace, officiating. Music will be provided by Faxon Singers and Julia Lovelace Johnson. Military graveside services will follow at Old Kingsport cemetery with American Legion Post 3/265 and the Tennessee National Guard conducting the rites. Pallbearers will be nephews.

Lydia Sexton Fleming
Lydia Sexton Fleming, 65, of Kingsport, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Wednesday, (November 21, 2007) at her home, surrounded by her loving family.
Lydia was born on February 11, 1942, in Letcher County, KY. She resided in Kingsport for most of her life. Lydia was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Lydia was a member of the Apostolic Church of the Lord Jesus Christ. She was a member of the choir and enjoyed singing the Lord’s praises. She had a strong Christian faith and loved the lord and her family with all her heart.
Lydia was preceded in death by her parents, Benny and Becky Stapleton; son, Kenny Williams; grandchild, Kayla Beth Fleming; brother, Worley Sexton; sisters, Velma Lark, Olivia Fleming and Margie Sexton.
Lydia is survived by her loving husband of 45 years, Dewey “Lee” Fleming, of the home; daughters, Rose Capwell and husband Robert, Blountville, Diana Benson and husband Randall, Kingsport; sons, Dewey Fleming, Jr. and wife Cyndy, Kingsport, Dallas Fleming, Kingsport; grandchildren, Lisa Gullion, Justin Capwell, Joshua Capwell, Rebecca Fleming and Nikki Benson; great-grandchild, Kyle Gullion; sister, Ollie Johnson, Knott County, KY, brothers, Luther Veners, Indiana, Benny Sexton Jr., Indiana, Millard Hensley, Kentucky; her special niece, Patricia Fisher; several nieces and nephews.
Calling hours will be Saturday (November 24, 2007) from 5 to 7 p.m. at Carter-Trent Funeral Home, Kingsport.
Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Sunday (November 25, 2007) in the funeral home chapel with Elder Everette Lett and Rev. Freddy Redmond officiating. Music will be provided by Jim Hyatt and Evelyn Lee. Burial will follow at Oak Hill Memorial Park. Pallbearers will be family and friends.
The family would like to extend a special thanks to Kingsport Hematology- Oncology and Dr. Anu Thoptiyil.

Junior Odis Overbay
Junior Odis Overbay, age 61 of Kingsport, passed away peacefully Saturday (November 24, 2007) at U. T. Medical Center in Knoxville.
He was born in Sullivan County and had lived in Knoxville for several years.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Daniel and Grace Painter Overbay; and brothers, Robert Overbay and Paul Overbay.
He is survived by his sister, Joann Smith and husband Allan, Kingsport; brother Bill Overbay and wife Sandra Kay, Kingsport; and several nieces and nephews.
Graveside service will be conducted Monday (November 26, 2007) at 1 p.m. at East Lawn Memorial Park with Rev. Mike Stout officiating. Friends and family planning to attend are asked to meet at the cemetery at 12:55 p.m.

Beulah Mae Kern Pyle
Beulah Kern Pyle, age 84, of Preston Place, went to be with the Lord Sunday (November 25, 2007) at the Wexford House following an extended illness.
She was retired from Tennessee Eastman after over 25 years of service and was a member of Pleasant View Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Fred Pyle; son Benny Chapman; parents, Lee Andrew and Mary Ellen (Walling) Kern; five brothers, Jasper Kern, Joe Kern, Shelah Kern, Charlie Kern, and Andrew Kern; two sisters, Odessa Kern, and Jane Kern.
Beulah is survived by her sister, Ruth Baldwin, Kingsport; granddaughter, Carrie Chapman Steele; one great granddaughter; two special friends, Gilbert and Jerlene Rexrode, Kingsport; and several nieces and nephews.
Calling hours will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at Carter-Trent Funeral Home, Kingsport.
Funeral service will follow at 7 p.m. at the funeral home with Rev. Wayne Baker, and Rev. Travis Bolin officiating. A special prayer will be provided by Billy Jack Johnson. And music will be provided by Salyers Singers.
Graveside services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Oak Hill cemetery. Friends and family planning to attend are asked to meet at the cemetery at 10:55 a.m.

Mary Leach Lane
Mary Leach Lane, 65, 1314 W. Sullivan Street entered into eternal rest at 10:35 a.m., Wednesday (November 28, 2007) at her residence following a brief illness.
Born in McDowell, VA, she had been a resident of Kingsport since 1971. She worked as a breakfast hostess at the Comfort Inn for the past 8 years.
She was preceded in death by her parents, French E. & Betty Rexrode Leach; five sisters; and two brothers.
She is survived by her husband, Glendon Lane, of the home; son, Gregory N. Lane and wife Aimee Melissa of the home; four sisters, Mrs. Otis (Pauline) Gibson, Mrs. Richard (JoAnna) Leftwich, both of Kingsport, Mrs. Don (Joy) Blair, Lincoln, IL, Mrs. John (Ethel) Hendricks, Bloomington, IL; six brothers, William (Bill) Leach, Stuarts Draft, VA, James (Jim) Leach and Richard Leach, both of Kingsport, Frank L. Leach, Bloomington, IL, Paul R. Leach, Bridgewater, VA and Bruce C. Leach, Church Hill; a host of nieces and nephews; a host of great nieces and great nephews; a special dog, Maria; special friends, Glenda Cumbo, Cathy Dingus, Julie Coffee, Tracy Manis and Junie Arnold.
Calling hours will be Thursday (November 29, 2007) from 5 to 7 p.m. at Carter-Trent Funeral Home, Kingsport. Friends may also call anytime at the residence of 1314 W. Sullivan St.
Funeral services will be Thursday 7 p.m. in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Gerald Bishop officiating. Special music will be provided by her nephew Mark Hawn.
A graveside service will be at 10 a.m. Friday (November 30, 2007) at Oak Hill cemetery in the Garden of Devotion. Pallbearers will be Steve Gibson, Matthew Hawn, Derek McGhee, Josh Good, Robbie Good and Wayne Poore. Honorary pallbearers will be Co-workers of Comfort Inn- Kingsport. Family and friends who wish to attend are asked to meet at the cemetery by 9:55 a.m.
Memorial contributions may be made to the charity of ones choice.
