William Glenn Johnson, Jr.
Died: Monday, August 18, 2008
Glenn Johnson, Jr. passed away on August 18, 2008 at age 59. After attending college, he served in the US Army Reserve initially as a paratrooper and then as a parachute rigger for a period of seven years. As a civilian, his many achievements were in the lighting field where he was a Corporate partner with Factory Sales Agency, Inc. and planned, along with his partners, the lighting for Ryman Auditorium, Shelby Street Bridge, Demonbreun Street Bridge, Monroe/Carell Vanderbilt Children’s Hospital, Country Music Hall of Fame, the Convention Center, LP Field Arena and many other venues. His humanitarian works were being a major fundraiser with Special Olympics serving on the Board of Directors, the first Sara Lee Golf Classic, the Nashville Golf Classic and Cumberland Heights where he was named Volunteer of the Year.
Survivors include mother Billie Baggett Roney of Hermitage; sister: Kendy (Dwight) Staggs of Hermitage; brothers: Kevin (Sheron) Johnson of Hendersonville and Bruce (Michele) Johnson of Augusta GA; step-mother: Lucy Johnson of Augusta GA; many loving aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by father Glenn Johnson Sr., grandparents Willie and Lillie Johnson of Lebanon, and Jesse and Clara Baggett of Old Hickory.
A Memorial Service will be scheduled at a later date. John Allen Earheart
Died: Saturday, May 17, 2008
EARHEART, Sr., John Allen, 60, Mt. Juliet, passed away May 17, 2008. Mr. Earheart is preceded in death by parents, Alvin and Johnnie Earheart; brothers, Doyle Earheart and Paul Earheart. He is survived by his wife of 35 years, Darlene Earheart; son, John Earheart, Jr.; daughters, Michelle (Jerry) Garrett and Lisa Earheart; grandson, Joseph Garrett. Mr. Earheart was a loving person and enjoyed racing cars and working on his farm. He was a US Army Veteran. Funeral service for Mr. Earheart will be Tuesday, May 20th at 2 pm at Sellars Funeral Home at Mt. Juliet with Pastor Mark Rager officiating. Interment icon will follow the services at Jackson-Thompson cemetery in Mt. Juliet. Leroy "Chief" Youngs
Died: Saturday, August 2, 2008
Mr. Leroy Youngs passed away on August 2, 2008 at age 61. He was owner of Absolute Protection, a private security company, and was formerly a member of law enforcement with Davidson County. He was a member of the American Legion, the VFW, and the FOP. The family will be accepting friends at Sellars Funeral Home in Lebanon on Sunday, August 3, 2008 from 4-8 p.m., on Monday from 2-8, and on Tuesday from 10 a.m. until service. The chapel service, conducted by Brother Danny Sellars, is 1 p.m. Tuesday, August 5, 2008. Interment icon in Cedar Grove cemetery. Family and friends will serve as Pallbearers. Roskam, Virginia E.
Died: Tuesday, January 20, 2009
Virginia Roskam, age 83, passed away peacefully at her home with her family present on January 20, 2009. She was born on June 22, 1925 in Gotebo, OK, the oldest of six children. Her family moved to San Diego CA when she was fourteen after the Great Depression and Dust Bowl. She moved to Tennessee with her husband Frank. She was retired from the Baptist Sunday School Board (LifeWay).
She was preceded in death by her husband Frank F. Roskam, Jr., father Earl Van Deventer, mother Mary Francis Van Deventer, sister Peggy Isbell, sister Vivian “Jane” Young, daughter Linda “Joyce” Baskin, daughter Sue E. Gattis, grandson Jon Gattis, granddaughter Michelle Malley, and grandson Randy Malley.
She was the beloved mother of six children, 15 grandchildren, and 25 great-grandchildren. She is survived by her brother Jess (Sharon) Van Deventer of National City CA; sisters: Linda Bennett of Chula Vista CA and Paula (Gary) Yakel of Spring Valley CA; daughters: Mary Kay Smith, Nancy Graham and Gail Orrand, all of Lebanon TN; son: Frank “Eddie” (Cindy) Roskam, also of Lebanon TN; devoted grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.
The family will be receiving friends at Sellars Funeral Home in Lebanon on Thursday, January 22, 2009 from 2-8 p.m. and on Friday from 11 a.m. until service. The chapel service, conducted by Brother Donald Owens, 1 p.m. Friday, January 23, 2009. Interment icon in Cedar Grove cemetery.

Juliet High School in 1985, then attended college at Middle Georgia College in Cochran, GA. He was preceded in death by grandparents, Andrew & Delores Kingery and Joel Hardy Cornwell. James Newton Finley, Sr.
Died: Sunday, November 30, 2008
DAVIDSON CO. - FINLEY, James Newton, age 77 of Hermitage passed away November 30, 2008 at the VA hospital in Nashville. He is preceded in death by parents, Robert E. Finley, Sr. and Sarah Barber Finley. He is survived by wife of 55 years, Patricia Harris Finley ;Daughter, Deborah (Rick) Clifford; sons, James Finley Jr.; Ken (Julie) Finley; grandchildren; Joshua Finley, Madison Finley, Harris Finley and Julia Kate Finley; brother, Robert (Kathy) Finley Jr. ; sister, Nancy (Dave) Vaughan and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. He graduated from Hillsboro High School and the University of the South. He was a member of St. Philip’s Episcopal Church where he was a very active member. Hazel Martin Harshaw
Died: Thursday, April 3, 2008
HARSHAW, Hazel Martin, 75, passed away on April 3, 2008. Ms Harshaw was owner of Hazel’s Flea Market and Tanning Salon for 30 years. She also taught ceramics classes at Hazel’s Ceramics. Ms Harshaw was an active member of Green Hill Church of Christ. She was a loving mother and caregiver. Ms Harshaw was preceded in death by husband of 50 years, Charles Harshaw; parents, John & Nora Martin; son, Johnny Harshaw; and sister, Marie Dillard. She is survived by son, Terry (Barbara) Harshaw of Madison, TN; daughters, Pamela (Ken Adams) Harshaw of Mt. Juliet, TN and Tammy (Tori) Lamberth of White House, TN; sister, Dot (Harry) Goot of Lebanon, TN; 8 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren; and good friend, J. L. Whited of Lebanon, TN. Mrs. Mildred, age 92, passed away Friday, October 17, 2008 at University Medical Center. She is preceded in death by her parents, J.E. and Alberta Allen, sister Margaret Lannom, and husband Al Chamizo.
Survivors include brother Jimmy (LaVelle) Allen; niece: Polly Stallings; nephew: Zack Allen of Knoxville; great-niece: Kim (Yochi) Kyori and Shawna (Mark) Jones, both of WI; great-great nieces: Katie Nixon and Kelsey Jones; and great-great nephews: Kamron Kyori and Christopher Jones.
Mrs. Mildred owned Allen’s Market for many years. She also owned and operated Park Avenue Florist for the last 35 years. She was a member of the FTD Teleflora and the Chamber of Commerce. As a hobby, she raised Grand Champion Schnauzer dogs and collected antique furniture and dolls. Honorary Pallbearers: Billy Rogers, Wayne Blackburn, Bill Dodson, Dr. Joe Bryant, Randy Trammell, Louise Simmons, Marlene Purdum, Jimmy Thomas, Haywood Barry, Dana Corder, Martha Seay, and Teresa Odom. WILLIAMSON COUNTY - PISTER, Elaine Marie, age 67, passed away December 15, 2008 and went to her eternal home to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. She was born in Priest River, ID and was a graduate of Moxee High in Moxee, WA. She moved to Brentwood, TN in 1978. She was member of the Grand Ole Doll Club for 20 years. She loved her dogs and dolls. Mrs. Pister was preceded in death by son, Donald Eugene Pister. She is survived by husband, Larry Eugene Pister; granddaughters, Savannah and Rachel Pister; brother, Jay Crist; sister, Shirley Pride; two dear friends and Earth angels, Janice Owen and Betty Perry; and one very special person to us, Jan Bernardini.
