HANNAH, Frank Tittle, age 74 of Lebanon passed away November 24, 2008. Mr. Hannah was preceded in death by son, Kevin Dewayne Hannah; parents, Sterling & Floy Hannah; and brother, Cecil Hannah. He is survived by wife, Laura Hannah; sons, Frank (Margaret) Hannah, Gary (Janet) Hannah, and Steve (Julie) Hannah; grandchildren, Ryan, Will, Katie, Clay, and Bailey Hannah, Jeremy and Ben Burkhart; and great-grandchild, Emerson Hannah. Funeral services for Mr. Hannah will be Wednesday, November 26th at 1 pm at Sellars Funeral Home at Mt. DAVIDSON COUNTY - GRAHAM, Robert “Bobby”, age 67 of Nashville passed away August 15, 2008. Mr. Graham was preceded in death by parents, William & Robbie Graham. He is survived by wife of 45 years, Ethelene Graham; sons, William Clay (Kim) Graham and Tyler Eugene Graham; daughter, Bobbie Lea Graham; brother, Roy Eugene (Ann) Graham; nephew, Chuck (Janie) Waggoner; and grandchildren, Joshua Trinity Graham and Denali Rose Graham. Funeral service will be held Tuesday, August 19th at 11am with Bro. Dean Campbell and Bob Hamm officiating at Sellars Funeral Home at Mt. Juliet. ATWOOD, Jane, age 74 of Mt. Juliet passed away April 26, 2008. Mrs. Atwood was preceded in death by her husband of 43 years, James Donald Atwood; and brother, Lucien Locke. She is survived by son, Zach Atwood; daughter, Tracy (Jeff) Weyrich; brothers, Nick (Dot) Locke and Charlie Locke; grandchildren, Skyla and Savannah Weyrich; and numerous nephews and nieces. Mrs. Atwood was an educator for 30 yrs, 1st grade teacher at Mt. Juliet Elementary for 13 yrs and principal of Gladeville Elementary for 17 yrs. Services for Mrs. Atwood will be Tuesday, April 29th, 11 am at Mt. Juliet Church of Christ with Bro. David Shannon officiating. Interment icon will follow the service at Mt. Mrs. Mildred Winford, previously of Lebanon TN, died Friday, February 13, 2009 at Alterra Sterling House in San Antonio TX at age 80. Born July 14, 1928 in Monticello KY, she grew up in Lebanon and lived the majority of her life here. She worked at TRW/Ross Gear and retired after 27 years of service. Earle Douglas Partridge
Died: Tuesday, April 1, 2008
Captain Earle Douglas Partridge, native of Boston, Massachusetts passed from this life at 3:45 in the afternoon on April 1, 2008. Mr. Partridge is preceded in death by his parents William H. Partridge and Jeanie Hunter Partridge; and by his sister, Jeanie Hunsdon.
He is survived by his wife, Ruth Brasfield Partridge of Hermitage, Tennessee and by five sons, Earle Douglas Partridge II of Benton, Arkansas, Kenneth Lynn Partridge of Mt. Juliet, Tennessee, twins – Stephen Hunter Partridge of Clarksville, Tennessee, Stanley Hope Partridge of Harrison, Arkansas; and Brian Holladay Partridge of Alexandria, Tennessee; sister, Marguerite (Pete) Nadeau of Chester, Vermont; sister, Mary Woodcock of Claremont, New Hampshire. He is also survived by seven grandsons and seven great-grandchildren.
Captain Partridge served twenty-four years in the United States Air Force and earned his pilot’s wings and commission at Dothan, Alabama. Following services in the Air Transport Command he was assigned to Karachi, India serving as Operations Officer. After his military service, he joined the Federal Aviation Administration and retired as supervisor, Flight Service Station, Nashville, Tennessee.

Louise "Granny" Oliver

Louise Oliver passed away on April 22, 2008 at age 94. She was a homemaker, farmer, and a member of the Cedar Creek Missionary Baptist Church. She is survived by her husband of 39 years, Hoyt J. Swindell, Lena Gladys Midgett
Died: Saturday, March 14, 2009
Gladys Swindell passed away on March 14, 2009 at age 96. The family will be accepting friends at Sellars Funeral Home in Lebanon on Monday, March 16, 2009 from 10 a.m. – 8 p.m. and on Tuesday from 10 a.m. until service. The chapel service, conducted by Brother Danny Sellars and Brother W.L. Baker, is 2 p.m. Tuesday, March 17, 2009. Interment icon in Bethlehem cemetery. Pallbearers: Special friend Fred Reeder, and nephews Sam Swindell, Jimmy Midgett, Johnny Midgett, Donnie Woosley, Teddy Woosley, and David Earl Bates. Honorary Pallbearers: Charles Albert Bell, Jack Bell, Harold Ingram, and Terry Ashe.
Gladys was born in the Saulsbury Community in east Wilson County on February 25, 1913 to Leonard George and Vera Hobbs Midgett. At two years of age, she went to live with her grandparents John and Octavia Bell Oakley Midgett behind Good Hope Methodist Church in Saulsbury. Mrs. Swindell attended school at Walnut Grove School and Tuckers Cross Roads High School. While in high school, she met Charlie Sindell and married him in November of 1929. Their first child, David “Billy” Swindell, born in 1930, and second child, Linda Ann Swindell, born in 1938, were both delivered by Dr. John Tilley, the same doctor who delivered both Gladys and Charlie.
The Midgett and Swindell familes have always been involved in politics. Charlie Swindell ran for Odie Bell Midgett’s seat on the Wilson County Court. He was elected and served for twenty-six years. Billy Swindell also served for eight years.
Paul Neal and Charlie Swindell bought the Tuckers Cross Roads store. Charlie and Gladys moved into the house behind the store and ran the store for several years before buying a farm in Saulsbury. Charlie was appointed to write warrants and do the board bill for Wilson County Sheriff Ed Maynard and continued to do this for several sheriffs. Meanwhile, Gladys became a cook for the Tuckers Cross Roads School.
When the widow of Sheriff Harold Griffin, Roslian, became Trustee of Wilson County, Charlie started working in that office. Later, when he was elected as Trustee, Gladys worked in his office. She continued to work with Charlie, Joe Lasater, and John Majors for several years.
Gladys was an active member of the Saulsbury Baptist Church, which she joined in her early teens. She taught the babies and toddlers Sunday School and loved every minute of it.
Survivors include two children: David E. “Billy” (Kitty) Swindell and Linda Ann Swindell (Clay) Couch; grandchildren: Cathy (Dale) King, David (Teresa) Couch, Kelly (Wayne) Harris, and Stacy Swindell; great-grandchildren: Leanna (Gene) Kulas, Snapper King, Billy Wayne Harris, Layce Booker Swindell, Jessica Couch, and Addie Couch; and great-great-grandchildren: Anna Cate and Alek Kulas, Gracey and Clay King. Died: Friday, February 20, 2009
