Tennessee, U.S., Delayed Birth Records, 1869-1909
LEONARD BOWMAN
Leonard Bowman, age 64, passed away Wednesday, November 10, 2010 after suffering a massive heart attack while fishing at Center Hill Lake.
Mr. Bowman was born June 6, 1946 in Overton County, TN to Ruby England Bowman of Monterey and the late Granville Bowman. He was a retired shipping and receiving clerk with the Del-Bar Corporation in Crossville and served in the Army National Guard for eight years. He also was a longtime active member of First Baptist Church of Monterey serving as Deacon, Sunday School Teacher, Usher and Assistant Sunday School Secretary.
Mr. Bowman was an avid hunter and fisherman. He loved all sports and loved watching his grandsons play ball. He coached Little League Baseball for twenty years as well as Jr. Pro Football.
In addition to his mother, Mr. Bowman is survived by his wife of 42 years, Patricia Ann Brown Bowman of Monterey (whom he married May 11, 1968 in Monterey); two daughters, Nikki Bowman and companion Tom Sughrue, and Jennifer and husband, Roger Phillips; two grandchildren, Ryan Allen Phillips and Jordan Luke Phillips all of Cookeville; brother and sister-in-law, Clifford Bowman and Wanda Bowman of Monterey; his twin sister and brother-in-law, Lynda and Tomas DePaulis of Nashville; brothers-in-law, Sewell and Midge Brown of Oak Ridge, TN, Preston and Shelia Brown of Edmond, OK; sister-in-law, Sue Stewart of Knoxville; six nephews and five nieces and their families, several aunts, uncles and cousins.
In addition to his father, Mr. Bowman was preceded in death by his father and mother-in-law, J.S. and Maurine Robbins Brown; and a brother-in-law, Bill Johnson.
Funeral services were held Saturday, November 13, 2010 at 2:00 p.m. at Monterey First Baptist Church with Rev. Barry Purser, Rev. Johnny Bowman and Rev. John Wood officiating. Burial followed in the Whittaker cemetery. Active Pallbearers included Mr. Bowman's nephews, Eric Bowman, Larry Melton, Wayne Key, Jeremiah Bowman, Caleb Key, Joshua Key and Brent Johnson. Honorary Pallbearers included Glen Smith, Willie Henry, Donnie Wilcox, Jim Ray, Pat Farley and Deacons at Monterey First Baptist Church.
Memorial contributions may be made to Monterey First Baptist Church 106 North Chestnut Street Monterey, TN or to Heart Education Fund c/o Cookeville Regional Medical Center Foundation, One Medical Center Blvd Cookeville, TN 38501.

WILLIAM CASHER BROWN, SR.
William Casher Brown, Sr., age 46, of the Double Top Community, passed away Friday, November 12, 2010 at Jamestown Regional Medical Center.
Mr. Brown was born March 4, 1964.
Mr. Brown is survived by son, William Casher Brown, Jr. of the Stockton Community; mother, Lucille Brown of the Stockton Community; four sisters, Sharon Winningham of the Stockton Community, Shelly Conger and husband Tommy of Omega, GA, Shirley Conger of Norman Park, GA and Sheila Parris of Byrdstown; and three brothers, Jerry and Pat Brown both of Jamestown and Sammy Brown of Norman Park, GA.
Funeral services were held Sunday, November 14, 2010 at 7:00 p.m. at Mundy Funeral Home with Bro. Ray Cooper officiating. Burial followed on Monday, November 15, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. in the Brown Family cemetery. Pallbearers included Rex Davis, Jeff Clayborn, Roger Ledbetter, Robert Brown, Larry Turner and Sidney Davis.

FAY CRABTREE
Fay Crabtree, age 61, of Jamestown, passed away Sunday, November 7, 2010 at Cumberland Medical Center.
Mrs. Crabtree was born August 28, 1949 in Muncie, Indiana. She was a factory worker.
Mrs. Crabtree is survived by husband, Willard Crabtree of Jamestown; two sons, Timmy Crabtree and Jonathan Crabtree and wife Mary both of Jamestown; daughter, Christy Davis and husband Jeff of Crossville; brother, Danny Smith of Crossville; and two sisters, Kay Hedgecoth of Crossville and Vella Harvey of Dunkirk, IN.
Mrs. Crabtree was preceded in death by father, Wilburn Elmo Smith; mother, Fonzie (Duncan) Smith; son, David Allen Crabtree; two sisters, Linda Gail Roysden and Carolyn Harville; and brother, Micky Smith.
Funeral services were held Wednesday, November 10, 2010 at 1:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Jennings Funeral Home with Bro. Chester Rhoad and Bro. Harold Slaven officiating. Burial followed in the Upchurch cemetery. Pallbearers included Bob Koker, Bill Weaver, B.J. Gunter, Roger Garrett, Jeff Davis, Otis Brannon, Robin Pritchett, Paul Portugal and Sam Neely.

ARLENE R. KELLY
Arlene R. Kelly, age 78, of Brentwood, passed away Tuesday, November 9, 2010.
She was a member and secretary of the choir at Forest Hills Baptist Church in Brentwood. She was the niece of the late decorated World War I Veteran, Alvin C. York.
Mrs. Kelly is survived by son, Gary Kelly and wife Kymberly of Williamson Co.; brother, William Rains of Williamson Co.; and four sisters, Maxine Rains, Lorene Cargile, Colene Holt and Jewelene Hinds all of Jamestown.
Mrs. Kelly was preceded in death by husband, H.L. Kelly III; parents, Jim and Lucy (York) Rains; sister, Christine Williams; and two brothers, Perry Rains and Jack Rains.
Funeral services were held Friday, November 12, 2010 at 3:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Williamson Memorial Funeral Home with Dr. Jerry Winfield officiating. Interment icon in the Decatur City cemetery in Decatur, GA.
Williamson Memorial Funeral Home of Franklin, Tennessee was in charge of services.

CHARLENE (SOUTH) MCDONALD
Charlene (South) McDonald, age 76, of Clarkrange, passed away Wednesday, November 10, 2010 at her home.
Mrs. McDonald was born August 29, 1934 in Wilder, TN. She was a housewife.
Mrs. McDonald is survived by son, Steve McDonald and wife Veronica of Clarkrange; three daughters, Jean Dunson and husband Wayne, Kathy Satterfield and husband Guy both of Chattanooga and Vickie McDonald of Clarkrange; six grandchildren; one great-grandchild; sister, Linda South of Cookeville; and brother, Jim South of Dayton, OH.
Mrs. McDonald was preceded in death by husband, Norton McDonald; son, Stan McDonald; daughter, Janet McDonald; father, Tommy South; mother, Geneva (Dodson) South; brother, Joe South; and sister, Bobbye Gibson.
Funeral services were held Saturday, November 13, 2010 at 10:00 a.m. in the Clarkrange Chapel of Jennings Funeral Home with Bro. Leeman Cravens officiating. Burial followed in the Clarkrange cemetery. Pallbearers included Wayne Dunson, Guy Satterfield, Rob Dunson, Wil Dunson, Wesley McDonald, Tommy Boles, Jim Dillon and Billy Joe Wilson.

LILLIE M. PRICE
Lillie M. Price, age 90, of Jamestown, passed away Monday, November 8, 2010 at Jamestown Regional Medical Center.
Mrs. Price was born March 20, 1920 in Wilder, Tennessee. She was a factory worker.
Mrs. Price is survived by daughter, Henrietta S. Owens and husband Buck of Muncie, IN; son, Boyd Price and wife Cindy of Muncie, IN; two grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and sister, Delsie Upchurch of Jamestown.
Mrs. Price was preceded in death by husband, John H. Price, Jr.; father, James S. Roysden; mother, Isabelle (Greer) Roysden; and three sisters, Bulah Price, Jessie Geer and Ruby Beaty.
Funeral services were held Thursday, November 11, 2010 at 12:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Jennings Funeral Home with Dr. James F. Dresham officiating. Burial followed in the Taylor Place cemetery. Active pallbearers included Gary Upchurch, Scott Montgomery, Steve Brooks, Buck Owens, Darrell Price and Gary Dill. Honorary pallbearers included Billy Price, Charles Price, Boyd Price and Chucky Price.

JEFF REYNOLDS
Jeff Reynolds, age 50, of Clarkrange, passed away Saturday, November 6, 2010 at Methodist Medical Center in Oak Ridge, TN.
Mr. Reynolds was born April 3, 1960.
Mr. Reynolds is survived by wife, Jaimi Reynolds of Clarkrange; two sons, Travis Reynolds and J.E. Allred both of Clarkrange; two daughters, Danielle Reynolds and Britteny Randolph both of Clarkrange; mother, Ruby Hall Reynolds of Clarkrange; two sisters, Genger Norman and husband Roland of Clarkrange and Becky Reynolds of Calhoun, GA; three grandchildren; and seven nieces and nephews.
Mr. Reynolds was preceded in death by father, Billy F. Reynolds; and grandparents, Everett and Allie Hall and Burttrum and Wanda Reynolds.
Funeral services were held Thursday, November 11, 2010 at 1:00 p.m. in the Clarkrange Chapel of Mundy Funeral Home with Bro. Steve Looper officiating. Burial followed in the Frogge Chapel cemetery. Active pallbearers included Roland Norman, Jack Beaty, Shannon Anderson, Leon Hall, Chad Kenney, Tim Smith, Ralph Jones and Ricky Guzman. Honorary pallbearers included Daryl Byrd, Greg Wright, Dustin Young, Brad Buck and Brent Buck.

HERSHEL G. SMITH
Hershel G. Smith, age 84, of Dry Creek Rd., Jamestown, passed away Monday, October 25, 2010 at Jamestown Regional Medical Center.
Mr. Smith was born April 19, 1926 in Guntertown of Pickett County, Tennessee. He ran his own Barber Shop for many years in Byrdstown.
Mr. Smith is survived by loving and devoted wife, Jewell Smith of the Dry Creek Rd., Jamestown; step-daguther, Mona Evans; three step-grandchildren, five step-great- grandchildren; brother, Travis Smith of Byrdstown; sister-in-law, Lois Gilbert and husband Chester; and many special nieces and nephews and other family members and friends.
Mr. Smith was preceded in death by father, Issac Smith; mother, Isabelle (Smith) Smith; infant daughter, Lois Jean Smith; first wife, Emogene (Johnson) Smith; seven brothers, Bransford, Roy, Cosby, Estel, Earl, Allard and Cletis Smith; and sister, Mary Frances Smith.
Funeral services were held Wednesday, October 27, 2010 at 2:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Jennings Funeral Home with Bro. James Clayborn officiating. Burial followed in the Huff cemetery in Pickett County. Active pallbearers included nephews - Charles Smith, Lynn Smith, Mike Smith and Carl Smith and friends - Donald Sharp and Jamie Cooper. Honorary pallbearers included nephews - David Smith, Bobby Smith, Daniel Smith and Randy Smith and brother-in-law - Chester Gilbert.

STANLEY WHITED
Stanley Whited, age 85, of Alpine, passed away Thursday, November 11, 2010 at Livingston Regional Hospital.
Mr. Whited was born March 19, 1925.
Mr. Whited is survived by three children, Sanford, Randy and Nancy; brother, Manning Whited; and two sisters, Zola White and Frances Davis.
Mr. Whited was preceded in death by parents, Garfield and Effie Smith Whited; two daughters, Brenda Sue and Shirley Ruth; five brothers; and five sisters.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, November 16, 2010 at 1:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Mundy Funeral Home with Bro. Frankie Bledsoe officiating. Burial followed in the Andy Smith cemetery. Pallbearers included Scotty Whited, Johnny Whited, Ronald Cooper, Rick Cooper, Robert Whited and Michael Conway.
Mundy Funeral Home of Jamestown, Tennessee was in charge of services.

CELESTA MARIE BUCK
Celesta Marie Buck, age 87 of Somerset, KY, passed away Wednesday, December 8, 2010 at Sunrise Manor Nursing Home.
Mrs. Buck was born on December 6, 1923 in Pike County, KY to the late Rolland and Surilda Blackburn Justice. Mrs. Buck was a retired food service supervisor for Dayton State Hospital in Ohio and a member of Somerset Baptist Temple in Somerset, KY.
Mrs. Buck is survived by three sons, Randy Rhoton (and wife, Michelle) of Somerset, KY, Joseph Buck (and wife, Polly) of Chattanooga, TN and Michael Buck (and wife, Cindy) of Marion, Indiana; two sisters, Lucille Adkins (and husband, Elmer) of Pikeville, KY and Phoebe Adkins (and husband, Julian) of Pikeville, KY; seven grandchildren, Jeremy Rhoton, Jason Rhoton (and wife, Kim), Allen Rhoton, Matthew Buck (and wife, Lisa), Amanda Kaplan (and husband, Robert), Joshua Buck (and wife, Shelly), and Geoffrey Buck; fourteen great grandchildren; and one niece.
Mrs. Buck was preceded in death by parents, Rolland and Surilda Blackburn; husband, Kelly Buck whom she married on March 8, 1969 in Dayton, Ohio; a great grandchild, Ava; one brother, Buster (and his wife, Garnett) Justice; one sister, Gladys Justice; and a niece, Bonnie Justice.
Funeral services were held Monday, December 13, 2010 at 10:00 am at the Chapel of Lake Cumberland Funeral Home with Bro. David Carr and Bro. Sammie Adkins officiating. Burial followed in Mill Springs National cemetery in Nancy, KY.
In lieu of flowers, the family has requested donations be made to the Gideon Memorial Bible Fund and/or God's Food Pantry in Somerset, KY.
Lake Cumberland Funeral Home of Somerset, Kentucky was in charge of services.
