Timothy Lee Cain, Sr., 46, of Cheatham County, died June 29, 2003.

He is survived by his wife, Mary Ann Cain; daughters, Tess Cain Mann, Heather Cain Mann, Jennifer Cain; sons, Timothy Cain, Jr., John Cain; mother, Billie Cain Roberts, step-father, Paul Edward Roberts; brothers, Dan (Teresa) Cain, Joe (Shawn) Cain; half-brother, Michael (Megan) Cain; half-sister, Kiry Cain.

Services were held Tuesday, July 1, 2003, at Harpeth Hills Chapel at 2:30 p.m. with Rev. James Sasser officiating. Interment icon followed in Harpeth Hills Memory Gardens.

Harpeth Hills Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Fowler Bufford Eldridge

Fowler Bufford Eldridge, 86, Ashland City, passed away at his home Wednesday, June 18, 2003. ,He was born Dec. 14, 1916, in Overton County. He served in the U.S. Army, he was a truck driver and a lifetime member of Teamsters Local 480.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Willie Thomas and Sara Ellen Franklin Eldridge.

He is survived by wife of 62 years, Agnes Wingo Eldridge; children, Douglas F. Eldridge, Dwight Eldridge, Faye Binkley, Janice Garrett, Gloria Stack, Anita Anderson, Judy Stack; 12 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren.

His remains were at Anderson and Garrett Funeral Home in Joelton. Graveside services were conducted Saturday, June 21, 2003, at Cheatham Memorial Gardens, Pleasant View, Grandson served as pallbearers.

Anderson and Garrett Funeral Home, Joelton, was in charge of funeral arrangements.

George L. Farmer Sr.

George L. Farmer Sr., the first mayor of Pegram and a spearhead behind the Pegram Parks System, passed away peaceably at his home Thursday, June 19, 2003 at 8:42 a.m. He was 72.

Farmer was preceded in death by his parents, Musetta and Herman Farmer; brothers, Luster, Jesse and John "Dickie" Farmer; sisters, Louise Chaffin and Dorothy Copeland. He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Helen Radford Farmer; sons, George Lee (Dana) Farmer, Jr., Brian (Lisa) Farmer and Keith (Trena) Farmer; nine grandchildren, Gabriel, Kristal, Natasha, Corey, Alex, Cody, Taylor, Catherine and Matthew; brothers, Hanson "Bud" Farmer and Frank "Bubbi" (Judy) Farmer; sisters, Barbara "Tiny" Graves and Opal "Duck" Scruggs.

Mr. Farmer retired from Wishy Washy Inc. after 40 years of service as Service Manager. He served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War and served on the Board of the Second South Cheatham Utility District. He was a member of the Pegram United Methodist Church.

Funeral services were conducted on Saturday, June 21, in Woodlawn Funeral Home Chapel of Roses with Pastors Brent Davis, Eric Limbo and Pete Furnier officiating. Interment icon followed in Woodlawn Memorial Park. His nephews served as active pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers included the employees and commissioners of Second South Cheatham Utility District, the NACA and Dr. Steven Tai.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Alive Hospice, Pegram United Methodist Church or to the charity of your choice. Woodlawn Funeral Home, 660 Thompson Lane, was in charge of the arrangements.

Helen S. Green

Helen S. Green, 78, passed away Saturday, June 21, 2003, at Nashville Hospital.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Dudley and Fronie Sanders.

She is survived by her husband of 56 years, William J. Green of Ashland City; a daughter, Donna (Robert) Wayman of Ashland City; three sisters, Mildred Cantrell of Smyrna, Byde Simpson of Erin and Ginny Fussell of Waverly; three grandchildren, Greg (Kim) Wayman of Antioch, Jamie (Carla) Wayman of Pleasant View, Tere Wayman of Chapmansboro; two great-grandchildren Evan Wayman, Ginny Wayman. She was a member of Bethlehem Church of Christ, Ashland City, was retired from the former Cain-Sloan Department Stores.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, June 25, 2003, at 9 a.m. from Chapel of Cheatham County Funeral Home with Bro. John Brown officiating. Burial will follow in the Middle-Tennessee Veterans cemetery, Nashville. Pallbearers will be

nephews: Steve Shores, Dale Pacetti, Donald Cantrell, David Cantrell, Sandy Fussell, Fred Clark. Visitation was held Tuesday, 2-4 p.m. and again 6-9 p.m.

Cheatham County Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Carmen Louise Rader

Carmen Louise Rader, 73, died Wednesday, June 18, 2003. She was a member of the Madison Church of Christ.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Finis and Catherine Wayman.

She is survived by her husband of 55 years, Robert Eugene Rader; son, Robert Dale (Debbie) Rader; daughters, Karen (Eddie) Ford, Judy (Ltc. Mike Cavender, U.S. Army 101st Airborne) Cavender; and Sherry (Jack) Alexander; grandchildren, Melissa (Joe) Volk, Bart (Tara) Rader, Nick Alexander, Christian Cavender; great-grandchild, Katelyn Pence; and four sisters.

Funeral services were held Saturday, June 21, 2003, at 2 p.m. from Cole & Garrett Funeral Home, Goodlettsville with Gilbert Taylor, officiating. Interment, Greenwood cemetery, Goodlettsville. Family and friends served as pallbearers.

Cole & Garrett Funeral Home, Goodlettsville was in charge of arrangements.

Patricia Fay Biggs

Patricia Fay Biggs, 50, died Friday, June 13, 2003. She was born March 9, 1953 in Davidson County, the daughter of Claude Allen and Betty Jean Lucy Overstreet. She was a homemaker.

She is preceded in death by father, Claude A. Overstreet.

She is survived by husband, David Biggs; sons, Chris Lackey, Jonathan Toombs; daughters, Tina Henry, Angie Biggs; mother, Betty Overstreet; sister, Lynn McCleandon; brothers, Chuck, Gary, Barry Overstreet.

Funeral services were conducted Monday, June 16, 2003 at Anderson & Garrett Funeral Home, Joelton, with Pastor David Saquan officiating.

Anderson and Garrett Funeral Home in Joelton was in charge of arrangements.

John Edward Cain

John Edward Cain, 62, of Ashland City, passed away on June 14, 2003. He was a veteran of the United States Navy and was retired from Lockheed Aircraft.

He is survived by his mother, Mossie Roney of Ashland City; a daughter, Susan Schell of Kennesaw, Ga.; brothers, Bobby J. Cain of Canton, Ga. and Terry A. Cain of Eljay, Ga.; a sister, Betty Ramsey of Ashland City; two grandchildren, Ryan and Abby Schell of Kennesaw, Ga.; former wife Peggy Cain.

A memorial service and burial will be in Georgia at a later date.

Cheatham County Funeral Home is in charge of local arrangements.

Sally Ethel Shearon

Sally Ethel Shearon, 76, of Ashland City, passed away on Friday, June 13, 2003.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Clayton Shearon.

She is survived by two sons, Charles (Patsy) Shearon of Pleasant View and Larry (Jo) Shearon of Ashland City, five grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were held Sunday, June 15, 2003, at 2 p.m. in the chapel of Cheatham County Funeral Home, Ashland City, with Rev. Randall Wright and Charles Shearon officiating. Burial followed in the Cheatham Memorial Gardens. Serving as pallbearers were family and friends.

Cheatham County Funeral Home was in charge of local arrangements.

Ruse Anthony Tucker Sr.

Ruse Anthony Tucker Sr., of Ashland City, went to be with his Lord on June 13, 2003, at the age of 99. An active member of Ashland City United Methodist Church, he was the official greeter for over 40 years. He was a charter member of the Ashland City Lions Club. He was the first Boy Scout leader in Ashland City and the remaining survivor of the first four Purina Mills advisors. He operated the family mill, Midway Mills, until 1972 and served as the Cheatham County Trustee for 11 years before retiring in 1982.

He is preceded in death by his parents, James Franklin and Mayme Ellen Harris Tucker; siblings, Guy Leo, James Franklin, Charles Baxter Tucker and Ada Ruth (Tootsie) Clifton and one grandson, Jesse Preston Philpott.

Survivors include his wife of 75 years, Mary Elizabeth Thaxton Tucker; daughters and sons-in-laws Betsy and Richard Anderson, McDonald; Nancy and Bob Carney, Clarksville, Toni and Will Locke, Fayetteville; and Ruthe and Gary Short, Ashland City; sons and daughters-in-law James Preston and Dot Tucker, Ashland City; John and Jan Tucker, Hendersonville; Harry and Sue Tucker, Knoxville; and Ruse Anthony Tucker, Jr.; sister, Mary Ethel Clark, Birmingham, Ala.; 22 grandchildren; 40 great-grandchildren.

His Homegoing celebration was held at 4 p.m., Sunday, June 15, at Ashland City United Methodist Church with the Rev. Pete Furnier, Rev. Paul Robert Gupton and Chaplain Robert Carney officiating. The family received friends 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. Saturday, June 14 at Cheatham County Funeral Home.

Memorial may be made to the Ashland City United Methodist Church.

Sara Bell Jarrell Dozier

Sara Bell Jarrell Dozier, 90, of Ashland City passed away on Wednesday, May 28, 2003.

Funeral services were held on Saturday, May 31, 2003, at 11 a.m. from the chapel of Cheatham County Funeral Home with Bro. Ronnie Webb and Bro. Ralph Gilliam officiating. Burial followed in Bearwallow Community cemetery, Ashland City. Great-grandsons, nephews and granddaughter's husband served as pallbearers.

She is survived by a son, Billy (Imogene) Jarrell of Ashland City, a brother, Wallace (Mildred) Danley of Charlotte, grandchildren: Mike (Margie) Jarrell of Ashland City, Steve (Lorrie) Jarrell of Ashland City, Peggy (Mark) Chambliss of Joelton, five great-grandchildren.

Cheatham County Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Billy McKinley Green

Billy McKinley Green, 64, died Saturday, June 7, 2003, at Baptist Hospital in Nashville.

Funeral Services were held Tuesday, June 10, 2003, at 12 p.m. at Boyd Funeral Home with Bro. Hubert Raines officiating. Pallbearers were Tony Perry, Todd Pope, Randy Jones, Brett Dabbs, Johnny Balitsky, Kevin Hogin, Keith Newell, and Terry Dillard. Interment icon in Nashville National cemetery.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Lewis McKinley and Marry Bell Green and daughter, Cynthia Denise Green.

He is survived by his wife, Edith Green of Ashland city, son, Michael (Lori) Green of Chapmansboro, daughter, Monica (Robert) Dabbs of Mt. Juliet; two brothers, Russell (Dot) Green of Nashville and Wayne (Jackie) Pope of Smyrna; two sisters, Betty Buttrey of Greenbrier and Doris (Bubba) Champion of Nashville and five grandchildren.

Boyd Funeral Home assisted the family with arrangements.

Helen Hunter Rogers

Helen Hunter Rogers of Crestview, Fla., passed away on May 30, 2003, at home surrounded by her family. She was born on Dec. 5, 1927, to the late Adam and Polly Hunter. She was a homemaker and a member of Emmanuel.

Graveside services will be held Saturday, June 14, 2003, at Wall cemetery of Lockwall Drive with Bro. Mike Dankson officiating. There will be no visitation at the funeral home.

She is survived by her husband of 50 years, Shelby Rogers Jr. of Crestview, Fla., four sons, Stephen L. Rogers (Tasanee) of Phrae, Thailand, Danny W. Rogers, Crestview, Fla., Shelby N. Rogers III, Crestview, Fla., and Kim Rogers (Paula) of Pensacola, Fla., one brother Clifford Hunter of Caramel, Maine; two sisters, Mai Hobbs of Luka, Miss., and Willa Dean Martin of Kissimmee St. Cloud, Fla., three grandchildren, Somjit McAlister of Phoa, Hawaii, Amber Jenee Gillis of Crestview, Fla., Adam Stephen Rogers of Orlando, Fla., and four great-grandchildren, Andrew Hunter Gillis, Andrea Grace Gillis, Stephen Paul Schuitt, and Andrew McAlister.

Boyd Funeral Home assisted the family with arrangements.
