Virginia May Tiner

Virginia May Tiner, 77, of Ashland City, passed away on Friday, June 6, 2003.

A visitation was held on Sunday, June 8, 2003, at Cheatham County Funeral Home from 3-8 p.m. Funeral Services were held Wednesday, June 11, 2003, at 10 a.m. in the chapel of McNabb Funeral Home in Pocahontas, Ark., with Pastor Nelson Henderson officiating. Burial followed in the Barnett cemetery. Serving as pallbearers were family and friends. Visitation with the family was held on Tuesday evening 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. at the McNabb Funeral Home in Pocahantas, Ark.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Lee Tiner; parents, Albert Hopper and Jennie Church, a daughter, Virginia Minardi.

She is survived by sons, Bob (Verna) Tiner of Paragould, Ark., and Albert Lee (Teresa) Tiner of Big Rock; a daughter, Lilly (David) Duncan of Pleasant View; a brother, C.R. Heck of California; nine grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren.

Cheatham County Funeral Home was in charge of local arrangements.

Bonnie Rhea Binkley

Bonnie Rhea Binkley, 64, passed away on Monday, May 19, 2003. She was a homemaker and was of Baptist faith.

Graveside services were held on Wednesday, May 21, 2003, at 1 p.m. at Felts cemetery with Bro. George Clark officiating. Family and friends served as pallbearers.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert T. Binkley.

She is survived by daughters, Patricia Crawford of Pleasant View, Virginia Bosley of Hendersonville, Vickie Rogers of Madison; a son, Clifford (Susan) Keene of Tampa, Fla.; seven grandchildren, three great-grandchildren.

Cheatham County Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Katherine Marie Barnes Blythe

Katherine (Kathy) (Kat) Marie Barnes Blythe, 65, passed away on Thursday, May 8, 2003, at Centennial Hospital in Nashville.

Funeral services were held on Sunday, May 11, 2003, at 2 p.m. from the chapel of Cheatham County Funeral Home with Brother Bob Mowrey officiating. Burial followed in Cheatham Memorial Gardens in Pleasant View. Nephews served as pallbearers. Serving as honorary pallbearers were Elmer Dickens, James Barnes, Henry Hamblen, Jim Wolfe, Willie Pritchett and Dan Jennings.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph R. and Edna Barnes.

She is survived by her husband, John W. Blythe of Ashland City; sons, Phillip Wayne Jr. (Joyce) Denton of Ashland City and James A. Blythe of Hermitage; daughter, Tracie (Don) Jennings of Dover; grandchildren, Michael Wayne Denton, Katherine Marie Denton, Courtney Renee Steele; sisters, Jean (Jim) Wolfe of Antioch, Margaret Pentecost of Ashland City, Christine (Henry) Hamblen of Whites Creek and Polly Elliott of Joelton; brothers, Joe E. (Judy) Barnes, Robert N. (Linda) Barnes, Ronnie D. (Margie) Barnes, R. Gary (Kay) Barnes and John D. (Kathy) Barnes, all of Ashland City and Carter (Helen) Barnes of Hermitage.

Cheatham County Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Carney Lee Gregory

Carney Lee Gregory, 88, of Joelton passed away Saturday, May 10, 2003, at his home. He was born Jan. 19, 1915, in Trousdale County, the son of the late Robert Lee and Hattie Agnes Dyer Gregory. He was a shoe cutter for Genesco Shoe Company.

Services were held Monday, May 12, 2003, at Anderson and Garrett Funeral Home, Joelton. Grandsons and friends served as pallbearers. Burial was at Cheatham Memorial Gardens, Pleasant View.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Lois Clark Gregory, grandsons, Darby Felts and Phillips Sanders.

He is survived by daughter, Donna (Bobby) Williams, Deanie Gregory, Jean (Phillip) Porch; sons, Larry (Barbara) Gregory, Bill (Linda) Gregory, Bob (Dana) Gregory, 10 grandchildren and eight grandchildren.

Anderson and Garrett Funeral Home, Joelton, was in charge of arrangements.

Edwin Randall Harris

Edwin Randall Harris, 56, died May 10, 2003. He served in the U.S. Army during the Viet Nam Era from 1966 to 1968.

Funeral services were conducted Tuesday, May 13, 2003 at 11 a.m. at Spring Hill Funeral Home Chapel. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Hepatitis Foundation or the Disabled American Veterans. Interment icon in Section 16 in Spring Hill cemetery.

He was preceded in death by father, Hillary Harris.

He is survived by wife, Jo Harris; two sons, Aaron and Russell Harris; mother, Sylvia Harris, two sisters, Marilyn True and Brenda Newton.

Services were arranged by Spring Hill Funeral Home and cemetery, Madison.

Minervia Lucille McLaughlin

Minervia Lucille McLaughlin, 95, passed away on Tuesday, May 6, 2003. She was of the Church of Christ faith and was retired from White Way Cleaners.

Funeral services were held on Thursday, May 8, 2003, at 11 a.m. from the chapel of Cheatham County Funeral Home with brother Jimmy Bryant officiating. Burial was in Jackson's Chapel cemetery in Charlotte. Pallbearers were Eddie Perry, Frank Perry, Chris Snoody, Joe Connell, Leroy Sesler and Mitchie Davis.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Leroy and Betty Duke, her husband, Mark W. McLaughlin.

She is survived by her nieces and nephews, Leroy (Estelle) Sesler of Dickson, Patricia (Frank) Perry of Pleasant View, Betty Jones of Charlotte, Robbie (Mitch) Davis of Vanleer, Cynthia Cobb of Ashland City, Sara Mai (Kenneth) Sevierson of Alberta Lea, Minn., Mary Katherine (Leon) Spann of Charlotte, Farris Snoody, Joe (Lorenne) Connell, Angie Nutt, Helen J. Hallums, all of Nashville, Raymond (Ivolene) Johnson of Jamestown, Robert Connell of Nashville.

Arrangements were made by Cheatham County Funeral Home.

Irene Elizabeth Noe

Irene Elizabeth Noe, 86, died Friday, May 9, 2003, at Hillcrest Healthcare Center in Ashland City.

Funeral services were held Sunday, May 11, 2003, at 2 p.m. at Boyd Funeral Home. Bro. Mike Dankson and Bro. Terry Forrest officiated. Burial was in the Carney-Demonbreun cemetery in Ashland City. Mrs. Noe's nephews served as pallbearers.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Elmer Bob Noe, her parents, Mr. Litt and Mrs. Cora Sanders Perry, her daughter, Linda Faye Noe, and her brother Anderson Perry.

Mrs. Noe is survived by her sons: Jerry (Darlene) Noe of Ashland City, Glynn (Linda) Noe of Hendersonville, Randy (Sandy) Noe of Ashland City and Jimmy (Shirley) Noe of Chapmansboro; brothers: Lewis (Fredia) Perry and Horace (Mary) Perry both of Ashland City; sisters: Elsie Perry of Ashland City and Ora Belle (Charles) Sutton of Nashville, a very close friend of Mrs. Wilma Shelby of Clarksville, plus eight grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.

Boyd Funeral Home assisted the family with the arrangements.

Joe Garland Speakman

Joe Garland Speakman, 25, died Tuesday, May 6, 2003, at Centennial Medical Center in Nashville.

A memorial service was held Saturday, May 10, 2003, at 4 p.m. at Boyd Funeral Home.

He is survived by parents, Daniel Speakman of Ashland City and Joyce Speakman of Pleasant View; sister, Monica Rogers of Ashland City, one niece Regan Rogers.

Vernon Lee Williams

Vernon Lee Williams, 49, passed away on Sunday, May 11, 2003, at Gateway Medical Center, Clarksville.

Funeral services was held on Tuesday, May 13, 2003, at 2 p.m. from chapel of Cheatham County Funeral Home with pastor David Sagvan officiating. Burial followed in Cheatham Memorial Gardens, Pleasant View. Pallbearers were Donnie Williams, Mike Williams, Darrell Hampton, David Parker, Harold

He is survived by his step-mother, Barbara Williams, several aunts and uncles and nephew and nieces.

Judy G. Balthrop

Judy G. Balthrop, 52, died Friday, May 2, 2003, at her home in Chapmansboro.

Funeral services were conducted Saturday, May 3, 2003, at 3 p.m. at Boyd Funeral Home. Bro. Gene Parton officiated. Burial was in Mallorys cemetery in Chapmansboro. Active pallbearers: nieces and nephews. Honorary pallbearers: Christine Gupton, Tracie Meadows, Linda Harris, Amy Lane, Hazel Shelton, Audrey Park, Amanda Macias, Denise O'Neal and Melissa Wilson.

She was preceded in death by her father, Winfield Balthrop; her mother, Lorene Watts Balthrop; her sister, Barbara Jones and her brother, Windell Balthrop.

She is survived by sisters: Marcia Jean Morris of Clarksville, Janice Douglas of Chapmansboro, Joyce Drake of Pleasant View, and Shirley Mitchell of Greenwood.

Boyd Funeral Home assisted the family with arrangements.

James Millard McCool

James Millard McCool, 68, died Saturday, May 3, 2003, at the Cheatham Medical Center in Ashland City.

Funeral services were held Tuesday, May 6, 2003, at 2 p.m. at Boyd Funeral Home with Rev. Danny Dwyer officiating. Interment icon was in the Dwyer cemetery in Ashland City. Pallbearers were Everett McCool, James Binkley, Wendell Binkley, Eric Dwyer, Chris Hoffman, Ben Hunter, Todd Dwyer and Darrell Binkley.

He is survived by his wife, Linda McCool of Ashland City; son, James McCool Jr. of Australia; daughter, Amanda (Brian) Clark of Donelson, and brother, Donald Everett McCool of Ashland City.

Boyd Funeral Home assisted the family with arrangements.

Jesse Lee Anderson

Jesse Lee "Buck" Anderson, 81, Joelton, passed away Thursday, April 24, 2003, at Hillcrest Nursing Home, Ashland City. He was born in Cheatham County, Feb. 22, 1922, the son of the late Jadie Lee and Annie Mae Adcock Anderson. He was a farmer.

Funeral services were conducted at Anderson and Garrett Funeral Home, Joelton, Saturday, April 26, 2003, with Johnny Harris, Jr. officiating. Nephews and friends served as pallbearers. Burial was in Anderson-Perry cemetery.

He is survived by granddaughter, Amanda; brothers, John C. Anderson, Cecil J. Anderson, William R. Anderson, all of Joelton; sisters, Gladys M. Raymer, Cedar Hill, Ruby R. Harris, Joelton, Pearl Hampton, Ashland City; nieces and nephews.

Anderson and Garrett Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
