Brandi Nicole Kessinger

Brandi Nicole Kessinger, 21, of Springfield, died Tuesday, April 1, 2003, at Vanderbilt Medical Center. She was born Jan. 14, 1982, in Robertson County, She was a member of the Wartrace United Methodist Church and was a graduate of the Tennessee Rehabilitation Center.

Funeral services were conducted Friday, April 4, 2003, at 2 p.m. in the Oakhurst Chapel of the Robertson County Funeral Home with Rev. Jodi McCullah and Billy Wayne Dorris officiating. The interment icon followed in the Memorial Gardens.

She is survived by mother, Donna Baggett Kessinger of Springfield; father and step-mother, Keith and Cindi Kessinger of Springfield; brother, Brandon Isabell of Springfield, grandparents, Tommy and Ruth Baggett of Springfield, Richard and Phyllis Kessinger of Springfield; stepbrother, John Goff of Greenbrier; stepsister, Angel Rashid of Chapmansboro; great-grandmother, Rosa Olmstead of Williamsburg, Ky.; uncles and aunts: Mike and Michelle Baggett of Springfield, Joe and Cathy Kessinger of Springfield, and Jim Kessinger of Springfield; great-great-aunt, Bessie Roberts of Williamsburg, Ky.

The family requested memorial contributions to the Robertson County Relay for Life for the American Cancer Society.

Robertson County Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Leo Pat McKinney

Leo Pat McKinney, 73, passed away on Tuesday, April 1, 2003, after a short illness. He was a veteran of the Korean War and a retired claims adjustor for TENNCO services. He was also a member of the Grays Point Baptist Church.

Funeral service was held on Friday morning, April 4, at 9:30 a.m. from the chapel of the Cheatham County Funeral Home. Brother James Humphrey officiated. Burial followed at the Middle Tennessee Veterans cemetery in Nashville at 11 a.m. Serving as pallbearers were Ricky Jones, Tom Moss, Donnie Miles, Jim Miles, Brad Burke and A.B. Argenbright. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Alive Hospice.

He is survived by his loving wife, Sandy McKinney of Ashland City; a daughter, Suzanne Burke of Johnson City; two brothers, Bruce McKinney and Phil McKinney, both of North Carolina.

Cheatham County Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Jesse Clifton Mosier

Jesse Clifton "J.C." Mosier, 82, Joelton, passed away Sunday, April 6, 2003, at Baptist Hospital, Nashville. He was born April 14, 1920, in Cheatham County, the son of the late Jesse Norman and Naomi Mayo Mosier. He was employed at Genesco for 60 years and a member of Joelton First Baptist Church.

Remains were at Anderson and Garrett Funeral Home where visitation with the family was Tuesday, April 8, 2003, from 4-8 p.m. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, April 9, 2003, at 2 p.m. at First Baptist Church, Joelton, with Bro. David Royalty, Bro. Willard McCarroll and Bro. Velon Moore officiating. Honorary pallbearers will be Transportation Department of Genesco. Family and friends will serve as active pallbearers. Burial will be at Cheatham Memorial Gardens, Pleasant View. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to First Baptist Church Children's Building, 7140 Whites Creek Pike, Joelton, 37080, or the Muscular Dystrophy Association, 3343 Perimeter Hill Drive, Suite 118, Nashville.

He is survived by wife of 62 years, Christine Binkley Mosier of Joelton; daughters, Linda (John) Gatlin, Brentwood, Melba (John) Pinkerton, Rockvale; grandchildren, Christie Remaly, Nashville, Josh Mosier (Andrea) Pinkerton, Rockvale, Laurel (Keith) Davenport, Rockvale; great-grandchildren, Ronald and Felicia Pinkerton, Luke and Josie Davenport; sister, Francis Cartwright, Madison. Brother, Eldridge Mosier, Madison.

Anderson and Garrett Funeral Home is in charge of funeral arrangements.

Nancy Sue Proctor

Nancy Sue Proctor, 54, passed away April 4, 2003, at Centennial Hospital in Nashville.

Funeral services were held on Monday, April 7, 2003, at 2 p.m. from the chapel of Cheatham County Funeral Home with Brother William Shouse officiating. Burial followed in Jackson's Chapel cemetery in Charlotte. Family and friends served as pallbearers.

She is survived by her husband, John Wayne Proctor; daughters, Debra Michelle Valdez of Nashville, Wanda Sue Denton of Charlotte, Carolyn Renee Cooper of Watertown; sisters, Joyce Vaine of Charlotte and Faye Breedlove of Nashville; and 12 grandchildren.

Cheatham County Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Betty Sue Thompson

Betty Sue "Sissy" Thompson, 54, Ashland City, passed away at Mariner Health of Nashville, Thursday, March 27, 2003, after fighting a courageous battle with multiple health problems. She was born June 13, 1948, in Cheatham County. She owned and operated Thompson's Market.

Funeral service was held at Anderson and Garrett Funeral Home, Joelton, Monday, March 31, 2003, with Bro. Joe Frazer officiating. Family and friends served as pallbearers. Burial was in Mt. Zion cemetery, Pleasant View.

She was preceded in death by father, Buford Hollis.

She is survived by son, Troy Coleman; daughters, Greta Newland, Tangi Duncan; grandchildren, Amber Hudgens, Christopher White, Heather Duncan; mother, Thelma Lee Newman; sisters, Teresa Hunt, Kathy Binkley, Connie White; brothers, Randy Hollis, Marty Hollis, Donnie Hollis.

Anderson and Garrett Funeral Home, Joelton, was in charge of arrangements.

Lewis Boyd

Lewis Boyd, 80, of Pleasant View, died March 24, 2003, at the Montgomery County Nursing Home, Clarksville. He was a member of Oaklawn Free Will Baptist Church. He was a farmer.

Funeral services were held March 25, 2003, at 2 p.m. at Sykes Funeral Home Chapel, Clarksville, with Rev. Hughes Ellis officiating. Interment icon was at Gray cemetery in Robertson County. Pallbearers were Jeffrey Welker, Chad Corlew, Ronnie Boyd, Eddie Boyd, Trey Davis and Terry Davis.

He was preceded in death by his father, Jim Boyd, and his mother, Laura Basford Boyd.

He is survived by his brother, Tom Boyd of Pleasant View, and his sisters, Gus Knox of Pleasant View and Maydell Sanders of Chapmansboro.

Earlie Mai Simpson Felts Nash Cheek

Earlie Mai Simpson Felts Nash Cheek, 79, Friday, Sept. 26, 2003.

She was preceded in death by parents, Everett and Laura Simpson; brother, James C. Simpson and infant daughter, Kathy Lynn Felts.

She is survived by daughter, Barbara (Ken) Callaway, Ashland City; sons, Jimmy (Ginger) Felts, Saugatuck, Mich., Roger Dale Felts, Springfield,; grandchildren, Shelia (Nathan) Grissom, Chapmansboro, Andrew J. Felts, Tucson, Ariz.; great-grandchildren, Nicholas and Amanda Grissom, Chapmansboro; sisters, Edith (Jack) Moore and Daisy (Cecil) Watts, Pleasant View; Dollie (James) Butler, Joelton, Alma (Jack) Spero, Madison; brothers, Johnnie (Carolyn) Simpson, Springfield; Wayne (Janice) Simpson, Ashland City; numerous nieces and nephews.

Visitation with the family was Monday, Sept. 29, 2003 from 2-4 p.m.at Anderson and Garrett Funeral Home, Joelton. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Vanderbilt Children's Hospital, Nashville. Pallbearers were nephews. Interment icon was at Good Springs Free Will Baptist Church cemetery, Pleasant View.

James Washington Moore

James Washington (J.W.) Moore departed this life Sept. 26, 2003, at Maury Regional Hospital in Columbia. He was born June 26, 1907, in Limestone County, Ala., and was a resident of Lynnville, Tenn.

His parents were the late Guy and Mamie Garrett Moore.

He is preceded in death by his wife of 72 years, Lillian Height Moore. He was also preceded in death by sisters Cora Davidson, Flora Young, and Odell Moore, and brothers, Russell and Henry Moore.

Survivors include two sons, James E. (wife Martha) Moore of Lynnville and Jerry T. (wife Jean) Moore of Clarksville and one daughter, Betty (husband Dean) Luna of Lynnville. He was also survived by two brothers, Floyd Moore of Prospect and Earl Moore of Pulaski and two sisters, Rebecca Newton of Pulaski and Ozell Jasinski of Las Vegas, Nev. He was survived by eight grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were at 2 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 28, 2003, in the chapel of Giles County Funeral Home, LLC with Rev. Steven VanHooser and Rev. Terry Peery officiating. Burial was in the Lynnwood cemetery in Lynnville.

Giles County Funeral Home, LLC was in charge of arrangements.

Charles "Charlie" Tabb

Charles "Charlie" Tabb, 53, died Wednesday, Oct. 1, 2003.

He was preceded in death by father, Vernon Tabb and sister, Alice Hudgens.

He is survived by mother, Billie Boyd Tabb; sisters, Nancy Williams, Bonnie (Norris) Hudgens, Irene (Joe) Blaylock, Betsy Adams, Martha Gail Tabb; brother, Billy Guy (Sarah) Tabb.

Services were conducted at 10 a.m. Friday, Oct. 3, 2003, at Anderson and Garrett Funeral Home, Joelton. Pallbearers were family and friends. Interment: Tabb cemetery, Joelton.

Walter Dozier

Walter Dozier of Ashland City died Feb. 11, 2004.

He was preceded in death by Hazel Dozier, loving wife of 50 years; brothers: Alvin Dozier, Hubert Dozier; sisters: Annie Lou Dozier, Ruby Regan.

He is survived by loving wife, Louise Dozier; sons: Ken Dozier and wife, Carol, Dan Dozier and wife, JaneLee; step-sons: Mark Burney and wife, Le Ann, Jeff Burney and wife, Cindy; brothers: Emery Dozier, L.C. Dozier, Jimmy Dozier; sister: Mae Harris; grandchildren: Mary Ann Green and husband, Daniel, Mathew Dozier and wife, Jeanna, Amy Dominguez and husband, Leonico, Dana Courtney and husband, Tim, Wesley Dozier, Andrew Dozier, Alex Burney, Winston Burney, Kayla Burney, Abby Burney; great-granddaughter: Caitlyn Green; and a host of nieces and nephews and their spouses.

Walter Dozier was a devoted Christian, having served as a deacon at West End Church of Christ and as an elder at Ashland City Church of Christ. He was blessed to have two wonderful wives, for whom he was grateful and to whom he was a devoted and faithful husband. He served in the U.S. Army and was WWII POW and a decorated war hero.

Funeral services were held Friday, Feb. 13, 2004, at 2 p.m. at Cheatham County Funeral Home in Ashland City. Bro. Mike Fox officiated. Burial was in Woodlawn cemetery. Pallbearers were his grandsons: Matthew Dozier, Wesley, Andrew and Daniel Green, Leoncio Dominguez, Tim Courtney, Alex Burney and Winston Burney.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Inner City Ministry at P.O. Box 101339, Nashville 37224, or Churches of Christ Disaster Relief Effort, Inc. at 410 Allied Drive, Nashville 37211.
