T. W. Mayes

T. W. Mayes, 73, passed away on Saturday, May 17, 2003.

Funeral services were held on Tuesday, May 20, at Park Avenue Baptist Church with Bro. Bob Mowrey and Bro. Bob Orgeron officiating. Interment icon followed in Woodlawn Memorial Park. Pallbearers included Philip Mattingly, Jr., Woody Hall, Adam Hall, Floyd Crawford, Andrew (Lanny) Ray, George Hasfield, Ed Johnston and Mike Mattingly.

Mr. Mayes was retired from Phoenix Supply Company where he was a principal and general manager. He was a founding member of the Tennessee Fabricare Association, and he was an active member and Deacon at Park Avenue Baptist Church.

Mr. Mayes was preceded in death by his daughter, Connie Marie Mayes, and his wife of 45 years, Doy Pinkston Mayes. He is survived by his wife Mildred Hall Mayes; daughter Nancy Mayes (Philip Sr.) Mattingly; grandchildren, Philip Mattingly Jr., Mary Elizabeth Mattingly, and Rebecca mare Mattingly; step-grandchildren, Woody (Christy) Hall and Adam Hall; great-grandchild, Peyton Hall; brother, Ford (Agnes) Mayes; and sisters, Marie Holt, Gail (Buster) Butterworth and Mildred Daugherty.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Park Avenue Baptist Church Library or for Gideon Bibles.

Woodlawn Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.

Gary Loy Walker

Gary Loy Walker, 61, lost his battle with cancer Friday, May 16, 2003, at his home in Springfield.

Funeral Services were conducted on Tuesday, May 20, with Rev. Wayne Robinson officiating. Family and friends served as pallbearers. Interment icon followed at Forest Hills cemetery in Ashland City.

Mr. Walker was preceded in death by his parents, Hughlan and Lena Simmons Walker of Ashland City. He is survived by his wife, Carol Walker; children, Gary Walker, Linda Swann, Carolyn Canfield; sisters, Bettie Fussell and Faye Willis.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to The American Cancer Society of Nashville, 2008 Charlotte Ave., Nashville, Tenn. 37203-2003.

Anderson and Garrett, Joelton, was in charge of the arrangements.

Crystal Ann Thomas Adams

Crystal Ann Thomas Adams, 33, a self-employed heating and air conditioning technician, died Wednesday, July 23, 2003, at her home on Conway, S.C.

Funeral services were held Monday, July 28, 2003, at 11 a.m. at Boyd Funeral Home with Bro. James Humphry officiating. Close family members served as pallbearers. Burial was in the Calvary cemetery in Nashville.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Mary Jane Majors.

She is survived by her son, Jeffery Adams, and many close family and friends.

Tandy Lawrence Putty

Tandy Lawrence Putty, 55, died Monday, July 21, 2003, at his home in Lobelville. He served in the Army having attained the rank of Pvt. E1 from Nov. 30, 1966 and discharged on Nov. 13, 1968 at Ft. Dixon, N.J.

Funeral services were held Thursday, July 24, 2003, at 11 a.m. with Mr. Eddie Nichols officiating. Burial was in the State Veterans cemetery in Pegram. Friends served as pallbearers.

He was preceded in death by his parents, William and Mary (Stewart) Putty.

He is survived by his son Christopher (April) Putty of Nashville, two daughters Nicole (Joe) Jackson and Nina (Daniel) Putty, both of Whites Creek, brother Billy (Noyla) Butler of Hendersonville and sister, Nancy Butler of Nashville plus seven grandchildren.

Boyd Funeral Home assisted with the arrangements.

Denver Lee Waide Jr.

Denver Lee Waide Jr., 75, passed away Friday, July 25, 2003, at his home.

Funeral services were conducted on Monday, July 28, 2003, at 1:30 p.m. from the chapel of Cheatham County Funeral Home with Reverend Ed McClellan and Reverend Charles Walker officiating. Burial was in the Forrest Lawn cemetery in Goodlettsville. Pallbearers were family members. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Pleasant View United Methodist Church Building Fund.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Denver Lee Waide Sr. and Shirley Waide.

He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Hilda K. Waide; a daughter, Nancy Waide of Madison; a son, Dennis Waide of Goodlettsville; grandchildren Shane Williams, Jeremy Williams, Christine Welker, Dustin Waide, Kristy Stockmeyer and Lisa Judkins; sisters, Helen W. Payne and Carol Waide, both of Henderson, Ky.; a brother, Harry Waide of Earlington, Ky.; five great-grandchildren.

Cheatham County Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Richard Lonzie EDGIN

Richard Lonzie Edgin, 77, of Ashland City, passed away Saturday, Nov. 27, 2004, at Centennial Medical Center, Ashland City, Tenn. He was born April 2, 1927, in Springfield, Tenn., the son of the late Allonzie Fountain and Lula Bell Moore Edgin. He was a retired machine operator for Cargill Steel Company.

He is survived by daughter, Wanda Dickens, Ridgetop, Tenn.; Nancy Burr, Ashland City, Cindy Edgin; sons, Richard Edgin, Erin, Tenn., Jeff Edgin, Nashville, Tenn.; nine grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren.

Service was conducted at Anderson and Garrett Funeral Home, Joelton, Tuesday, Nov. 30, 2004. Burial was at Spring Hill cemetery, Gallatin Road, Nashville, Tenn.

Robert Allen HEATH

Robert Allen (Bob) Heath, 71, of Charlotte, Tenn., passed away Sunday, Nov. 28, 2004, at his home.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Jerry C. Heath and Ollie Mai Proctor Heath.

He is survived by brothers, Don (Dorothy) Heath of Nashville, Tenn.; Billy Ray (Stella) Heath of Charlotte, Tenn.; sisters, Emma Jean Nichols and Lorene Damron, both of Nashville, Tenn.

Funeral services were conducted Tuesday, Nov. 30, 2004, at 10 a.m. from the Chapel of Cheatham County Funeral Home with Brother Harold Bell officiating. Burial was in the Rock Springs cemetery in Charlotte, Tenn. Family served as pallbearers.

Margaret Anne REESE

Margaret Ann Reese, 58, passed away Nov. 26, 2004. She was a homemaker and a member of Fellowship Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her son, Billy "Punkin" Blunkall and stepbrother, Carl Reese.

She is survived by husband, Noel Reese of Mt. Juliet, Tenn.; son, Kristopher Bishop of Ashland City, Tenn.; daughters, Margaret "Chelle" Field and Helen "Tinker" (Melroy) Van Why of Ashland City, Tenn.; stepson, Wayne Reese of Ashland City, Tenn.; stepdaughters, Tracey (David) Brooks of Fayetteville, Tenn., Polly Wells of LaVergne, Tenn.; grandchildren, Tiffany Bridges, Jacqueline Field, Rhiannon Walden, Eddie VanWhy, Ashley Maddox, Chris Reese, Amber Reese, Beth "George" Dalton and Joshua Brooks; great-grandchildren, Skyler Walden, Brionna Lee and Thomas Bridges-Tabb.

Funeral services were conducted at 2 p.m. Monday, Nov. 29, 2004, at Fellowship Baptist Church with Bro. Shad Carnes officiating. Flowers accepted or memorials may be made to Fellowship Baptist Church, 7391 North Lamar Road, Mt. Juliet, Tenn. 37122.

Luradean Sadler PARDUE

Luradean Sadler Pardue, 97, of Ashland City, Tenn., passed away on Sunday, Nov. 28, 2004, at her home. She was born Aug. 16, 1907. She was a homemaker and a member of the Ashland City Church of Christ.

She was preceded in death by her parents, William and Sarah Ann Sadler; her husband, Baxter Pardue, who passed away in 1985.

She and Mr. Baxter gave part of the land where Cheatham County Health Center is now located. Mrs. Pardue was noted for her beautiful quilts.

She is survived by a special nephew, Carl Pardue; special friend, Betty Davidson; her caregivers, Sarah Choats and Carolyn Krantz, several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday, Dec. 1, 2004, at 11 a.m. in the Chapel of Cheatham County Funeral Home with Bro. Cliett Goodpasture officiating. Burial will follow in Forrest Hills cemetery. Friends will serve as pallbearers.

Dempsey Thomas PRESSON

Dempsey Thomas Presson, 42, of Ashland City, Tenn., passed away Saturday, Nov. 27, 2004, at his home.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Freda Carney Sanders, Pauline Fowler Presson, Henry Presson and Maxine Presson Hanks.

He is survived by his parents, Bonnie Sanders Presson and Henry (Sonny) Presson of Ashland City, Tenn.; a sister Wanda (Bill) Mabry; brothers, Carl (Nancy) Presson and Jeffery Presson; nieces Heather, Lindsey and Ashley Presson; nephews Clayton (April) Tyler, Nicky, Stephen and Will Presson; great-nephews, Cory, Chris and Jarret Presson; uncles, Paul (Brenda), Robert and Jack Presson.

Funeral services were Tuesday, Nov. 29, 2004, at 2 p.m. from the Chapel of the Cheatham County Funeral Home with Brothers Barry Kirby, J.W. Searcy, and Ron Anderson officiating. Burial was in the Carney cemetery in Ashland City, Tenn. His pallbearers were Carl Presson Clayton Presson, Will Constable, Jack Presson, Jeff Presson, and Jeremy Mesker.

Clyde Jackson HUDGENS

Clyde Jackson Hudgens, 83, passed away Saturday, Nov. 27, 2004. He was born on May 11, 1921, in Cheatham County, Tenn. He was a retired fireman and a Veteran of World War II.

He was preceded in death by mother and father, Floyd and Atlanta Hudgens; two brothers, Glen and Houston Hudgens; one great granddaughter, Alexandere Hudgens; a sister, Maria Perkins.

He is survived by his loving wife, Lottie Robertson Hudgens; one son, Gary (Judy) Hudgens, two grandsons, Keith and Tye Hudgens; three great-granddaughters, Kelsie, Victoria and Samantha Hudgens; one great- grandson, Conner Hudgens; one stepson, Scottie; sisters, Eula Smith, Jean Brinkley, Linda Shivers; brothers, Donald and Carl Hudgens.

Funeral services were conducted Monday, Nov. 29, 2004 at 11 a.m. from the Chapel of Cheatham County Funeral Home with Bro. Rolla Smith and Bro. David Weeks officiating. Pallbearers were grandsons and nephews.

Perry Wilson BIGGS

Perry Wilson Biggs, 64, of Joelton, Tenn., passed away at his home Thursday, Nov. 24, 2004.

He is survived by wife, Cheryl Biggs; daughter, Sandy Toungette; sons, Perry Dean Biggs and Scott Wilson Biggs; sister, Ruby Morris; brothers, Joseph, Jerry, Odell and Billy Biggs; seven grandchildren.

Service was conducted at Anderson and Garrett Funeral Home Sunday, Nov. 28, 2004, at 2 p.m. with Bro. Gene Parton officiating; Interment: Mt. Pleasant cemetery, Joelton, Tenn.

Anderson and Garrett Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Taylor E. Watts Sr.

Taylor E. Watts Sr., 83, died Monday, July 28, 2003, at Centennial Medical Center, Nashville. He was born Jan. 27, 1920 in Robertson County.

Remains are at Anderson and Garrett Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held today, Wednesday, July 30, 2003, at New Hope Free Will Baptist Church at 1 p.m. with Bro. Vernon Barker and Bro. Barry Simpson officiating. Mr. Watts will lie in state at the church Wednesday from 10 a.m. until time of service. Honorary pallbearers are Sanctuary Sunday School Class, John Crutcher, Max Puckett, Kenneth Miller, Bill Robertson, Nelson Chambliss, Tommy Austin Jr., James Hodges, Carney Bell, Dr. Reginald Anderson, Doyle Wilson, Dr. David Allen, Dwayne Logan and Larry Swann; Active pallbearers: Robert Bratcher Jr., Glenn Watts, Robert Drake, Clyde Felts Jr., Lewis Ray Felts, Anthony Felts, Eddie Watts, Burton Dale Watts. Interment: Cheatham Memorial Gardens, Pleasant View.

He was preceded in death by parents, George and Maggie Watts; brothers, Shelly Watts, Burton Watts, Bernard Watts, Ernest Watts, Otto Watts, Billy Watts.

He is survived by wife of 58 years, Mary Ella Felts Watts, Pleasant View; son, Taylor E. (Diane) Watts, Jr.; daughters, Sarah Hodges, Lynn (Travis) Craft; seven grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren; sisters, Bessie Drake, Betty Hooper, Mildred Overby, Clara Drake; brothers, Quinton Watts, Hugo Watts, Cecil Watts, Sylvanns Watts.
