Hope Jones, daughter of Sudie Jones of Maryville, was united in marriage with James Long, son of Wade and Marylyne Long of Maryville, Aug. 28 at First Baptist Church. Charles Ballard officiated.
Nuptial music was provided by Steve Radford.
Escorted by her brother-in-law, Brad McMurry, the bride wore a sleeveless ivory gown with a sweetheart neckline, beaded bodice and built-in, chapel-length train. She carried a cascading bouquet of gardenias, white roses, stephanotis and lavender freesia.
Audrea Wilder of Maryville was maid of honor. She wore a lavender silk dress.
Savannah and Jillian Wilder were flower girls. They worelavender silk dresses with headbands. Austin Williamson was ring bearer.
Shannon King of Maryville was best man.
A reception given by the parents of the bridegroom was held at the church.
Taylor - Whitehead (2004 October 5)
Joni Lea Whitehead, daughter of Doyle and Ginger Whitehead of Maryville, was united in marriage with Mark Alyn Taylor of Louisville, son of Lee Taylor and Forest Taylor, both of Knoxville, Aug. 28 at The Magnolia Manor. Arkie Baker officiated.
Escorted by her father, the bride wore a white satin, empire-waist gown with a beaded bodice and a train accented with beading on the skirt. Her elbow-length veil was accented with crystals and embroidery on a rhinestone tiara. She carried a mixed bouquet of pink roses, white tulips, yellow and orange Gerbera daisies accented with a mixture of flowers in Indian summer colors.
Nikki McKinnis of Maryville, sister of the bride, was matron of honor. Sheneil Jones of Knoxville was bridesmaid. They wore spaghetti strap, floor-length, apple red dresses and carried smaller versions of the bride's bouquet.
Clara McKinnis, niece of the bride, was flower girl. She wore a miniature version of the bride's dress. Keri Bell kept the bride's book. Hillary Wilson was in charge of favors and programs.
Matt McKinnis of Maryville was best man. Kevin Watson of Maryville was groomsman and ushers were Matt Hearon and Johnathon Nichols, both of Maryville.
A reception given by the parents of the bride was held at The Magnolia Manor.
After a wedding trip to Destin, Fla., the couple are living in Louisville.
The bride received an Associate of Applied Science degree in occupational therapy from Roane State Community College. She is a certified occupational therapy assistant at the Rehab Center at Baptist Hospital.
The bridegroom received an Associate of Science degree in nursing from Roane State Community College. He is a registered nurse at Blount Memorial Hospital.
