McKinnons celebrate 50 years (2005-02-02)
Ron and Betty Jo (Grey) McKinnon of Maryville celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary with a recent family cruise.
The couple were married Dec. 24, 1954, in Yuma, Ariz.
Their family includes children Ray and Terri McKinnon of Lenoir City, Scott and Teresa McKinnon and Vicki and Dain Baker, all of Maryville. They have four grandchildren, Kristy and Tony Baker and Kati and Kelsey McKinnon, all of Maryville.
Mr. McKinnon is retired from the Tennessee Air National Guard. Mrs. McKinnon is a homemaker.
Tiptons married 50 years - Tiptons married 50 years (2005-03-02)
Tim and Sue (Daisy Sue Jarnigan) Tipton of Walland celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary Feb. 26 at Tuckaleechee United Methodist Church, Townsend.
The couple were married Feb. 25, 1955.
Their family includes children Pattie Dodd of Chattanooga, Linda Evans of Chattanooga, Dana Trent of Loudon, Gail Chambers of Maryville and George Tipton of Greenback. They have seven grandchildren.
Mr. Tipton is retired from the United States Army Corps of Engineers.
Brownes celebrate 56th anniversary (2005-03-16)
Don and Carol Browne celebrated their 56th wedding anniversary March 13.
The couple were married March 13, 1949, at First Presbyterian Church of Beaver Falls, Pa.
Their family includes children Linda Hutson of Maryville and Col. Donald Browne Jr. of Burke, Va. They have four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Mr. Browne is retired from PPG. Mrs. Browne is a retired secretary and homemaker.
Finchums married 50 years (2005-03-16)
Lawrence and June Scott Finchum of Walland will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary with a reception from 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday at Monte Vista Church. All family and friends of the couple are invited to attend.
The couple were married March 22, 1955, at Armona Baptist Church. John O. Hood officiated.
Their family includes Sam and Angela Wood, Cephus and Jama Stinnett, and David and Laura Finchum. They are the grandparents of Jennifer Wood, Samuel Wood, Jessee Stinnett and Elizabeth Finchum.
Mr. Finchum is retired from Oak Ridge National Laboratories. Mrs. Finchum is retired from the University of Tennessee.
They are the owners of Miracle Hill Arabians.
Hickmans to celebrate 72 years (2005-02-24)
James W. and Velma L. (Pritchard) Hickman of Maryville will celebrate their 72nd wedding anniversary Feb. 25.
The couple were married Feb. 25, 1933, in Las Animas, Colo. Claudius Q. Wilson officiated.
Their family includes children Bert and Marge Nelson of Belleville, Kan., Carolyn and James Hickman of Fairborn, Ohio, and Wayne and Rachel Hickman of Maryville. They have seven grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
Mr. Hickman is retired as pastor at First Friends, Knoxville.
