Cotters to celebrate 60 years (2004-11-24)
Mr. and Mrs. Hubert E. Cotter will celebrate their 60th wedding anniversary with a reception hosted by their children from 2 to 4 p.m. Saturday at Maryville Christian School, 2525 Morganton Road, Maryville. Friends are invited to stop by for cake and ice cream.
The couple were married Dec. 10, 1944, in Georgia.
Their family includes five children, Elizabeth Miller of West Virginia, Donald (Elaine) Cotter of Dixon, Ky., Susan Anderson of New Madrid, Mo., Kenneth (Nancy) Cotter of California and William (Tracy) Cotter of Chicago. They have nine grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Mr. Cotter is the son of the late Sarah and Clifford Cotter. He retired from Noranda Alum. in New Madrid, Mo.
Mrs. Cotter is the daughter of the late Edith and William H. Wallace.
Clarks celebrate 60th anniversary (2004-11-24)
Harold and Christine (Hines) Clark of Maryville will celebrate their 60th wedding anniversary today.
The couple were married Nov. 24, 1944 in Blue Ridge, Ga.
Their family includes children Beverly Coleman of Maryville, and Michael and wife Julie Frances Clark of Knoxville. They have one granddaughter, Wendy (Mrs. Randy) White, and one great-grandson, Tyler White.
Mr. Clark retired from ALCOA Inc. after 46½ years. Mrs. Clark retired from Alcoa Credit Union after 28 years.
They are active members of Maryville First Baptist Church and Wagon Wheelers Square Dance Club, and enjoy playing cards with friends.
Hyatts celebrate 60th anniversary (2004-11-18)
Wayne and Mary (Garrett) Hyatt of Maryville will celebrate their 60th wedding anniversary with a family gathering at Thanksgiving.
They request no gifts.
The couple were married Nov. 18, 1944, in Reidsville, N.C. The Rev. Swain officiated.
Their family includes children Marion (Mrs. Don) Nation of Tazewell, Va., and Jerry Hyatt of Burlington, N.C. They have five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Mr. Hyatt is retired from Tennessee Valley Authority. Mrs. Hyatt is employed in the Maryville District Office of the United Methodist Church.
They are active members of Fairview United Methodist Church.
Dunlaps married 58 years (2004-11-03)
Andrew and Grace Irene Dunlap of Maryville celebrated their 58th wedding anniversary Oct. 31 at home with their family.
The couple were married Oct. 31, 1946. J.W. Dooley officiated.
Their family includes seven children, Eddie of Athens, Brenda of Maryville, Elizabeth of Louisville, Peggy of Knoxville, Freddie of Alcoa, Kathy of Alcoa and Rickey of Alcoa. They have 23 grandchildren.
Both Mr. and Mrs. Dunlap are retired.
They attend Cold Springs Baptist Church.
Lyndons married 50 years Jan. 29 (2005-01-26)
Paul and Joan (Julian) Lyndon of Louisville will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary Jan. 29.
The couple were married Jan. 29, 1955 in Greenville, Miss.
Their family includes children Paula Suzanne, Jan Julian Lyndon and Bryan McKelvey Lyndon.
Mr. Lyndon is retired from the Knoxville News Sentinel. Mrs. Lyndon is retired from Blount County Schools.
Both are active in St. Andrew's Episcopal Church and Friends of the Library. They are currently traveling the United States in their motor coach.
