Harold and Alice Marion (Kidd) Best of Maryville will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary with a reception from 2-4 p.m. Sunday, March 9 at Fairview United Methodist Church Fellowship Hall.

They were married March 7, 1953.

Praters to celebrate 50 years (2003-07-30)
Mr. and Mrs. Robert (Evelyn Mitchell) Prater of Louisville will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary with their family in a private dinner at Regas Restaurant Aug. 1.
The couple were married Aug. 2, 1953 in Chatsworth, Ga.
Their family includes children Robin Watson of Germantown, Lee Ann Easter of Louisville and Lt. Comdr. Mitch Prater of Okinawa, Japan. They have five grandchildren.
Mr. Prater is a self-employed farmer. Mrs. Prater is employed with the United States Department of the Interior.
They are members of Friendsville First Baptist Church, where Mr. Prater is a deacon.
Ogles married 50 years (2004-06-03)
Fred and Marva Ogle celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary May 22 with a party with family and friends at the Whispering Pines Golf and Banquet Center, Pinckney, Mich. Family and friends came from Maryville and Knoxville as well as Livonia, Utica, Clarkston, Flushing, Detroit and Howell, Mich.
Mr. Ogle, originally from Walland, came to Michigan in 1948 to work and met his wife there. They have lived in Howell, Mich., for 33 years.
The couple have one son, Fred Ogle Jr.
Mr. and Mrs. Cox married 50 years (2003-07-30)
Jim and Virginia (Roberts) Cox of Maryville will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary with a reception given by their children and grandchildren from 2-4:30 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 2 at Wildwood Baptist Church, 4705 Porter Circle, Maryville. Family and friends are invited to attend.
They request no gifts.
The couple were married Aug. 5, 1953 at the home of Ruth Hord, Mrs. Cox's aunt. Mrs. Cox's uncle, the Elder John W. Oliver from Cades Cove, performed the ceremony.
Their family includes children Ann Cox Chandler, Rachel Cox Tramutolo, Steven W. Cox, Jenny Cox Williams and Jimmy A. Cox. They have 14 grandchildren and are expecting two great-grandchildren in August and December of this year.
Mr. Cox is retired as an electrical engineer and is a veteran with the United States Air Force. Mrs. Cox has been a medical transcriptionist for 22 years and currently works for a local doctor's office.
The couple have been members of Wildwood Baptist Church for 16 years.
Lawhons observe 50th anniversary (2003-07-30)
Bill and Jean (Christopher) Lawhon of Maryville will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary with a reception from 2-4 p.m. Aug. 3 at Broadway Baptist Church Fellowship Hall.
They request that gifts be omitted.
The couple were married July 19, 1953. William Jones officiated.
Their family includes children Marsha Lawhon, Steve Lawhon and Carol Lawhon Wood, all of Maryville. They have four grandchildren.
Mr. Lawhon is retired from Alcoa Inc. Mrs. Lawhon is retired from J.C. Penney Company.
They are members of Broadway Baptist Church.
