Herring - Balshuweit (2004 November 22)
Laura Michelle Balshuweit of Knoxville, daughter of George and Carol Balshuweit of Louisville, was united in marriage with John Brooks Herring of Knoxville, son of Margie Herring of Memphis and John Herring of San Antonio, Texas, Oct. 16 in a waterfront ceremony at Tellico Yacht Club.
Nuptial music was provided by Lake Terrace Trio.
Escorted by her parents, the bride wore a white, strapless, A - line gown with beaded bodice and a fingertip - length veil. She carried a bouquet of white roses with blue delphinium.
Stephanie M. Lowry of Knoxville was maid of honor and Ginger French of Jackson was matron of honor. Bridesmaids were Jenny Thurman of Knoxville, Karen Boren of Birmingham, Kelly Riley of Memphis and Tina Gormley of Knoxville. Junior bridesmaid was Shannon Ryan of Bethel, Conn., cousin of the bride. They wore blue, strapless, A - line gowns and carried bouquets of yellow roses.
Abigail Riley of Memphis and Lily Merryman of Memphis, niece of the bridegroom, were flower girls. They wore white, A - line gowns.
Matthew Herring of Memphis, brother of the bridegroom, was best man. Groomsmen were John Herring of San Antonio, Texas, father of the bridegroom, Eric Hagerman of Tampa, Fla., Jamie Russell of Memphis, Rusty Riley of Memphis and Jamie Balshuweit of Knoxville, brother of the bride.
A reception given by the parents of the bride was held at Tellico Yacht Club.
After a wedding trip to St. Lucia, the couple are living in Knoxville.
The bride is a 1999 graduate of the University of Tennessee, Knoxville, College of Architecture and Design. She is an architecture intern at Michael Brady Inc., Knoxville.
The bridegroom attended the University of Memphis. He is Web designer for Scripps Networks, Knoxville.

Farrier - Goodloe (2004 November 08)
Lois Louise Goodloe of Maryville, daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Harvel M. Goodloe, was united in marriage with Paul C. Farrier of Maryville, son of Mary Frances Farrier of Louisville, Ky., and the late John Marshall Farrier, Oct. 22 at the Blount County Courthouse. County Commissioner (Ret.) Dan E. Neubert Sr. officiated.
Phyllis Lawson of Maryville was matron of honor. Daniel Lawson of Maryville was best man.
The couple are living in Maryville.

Rogers - Ratledge (2004 November 08)
Julie Ann Ratledge, daughter of Judith and Jay Baker of Louisville and Jerry and Suzy Ratledge of Tierra Verde, Fla., was united in marriage with Michael Alan Rogers, son of Ronnie Rogers and Shirley Rogers, both of Knoxville, Oct. 9 at the home of the bride's parents on Fort Loudoun Lake. The Rev. Scott Kidd officiated.
Nuptial music was provided by Chris Hargrove and Gary Hancock. Lisa Higginbotham read poetry.
The bride was escorted by Jerry Ratledge and Jay Baker.
The couple's furry companion Lucy served as ring bearer with assistance from Anne Slattery. Family friends Megan, Kaylie and Lindsey Harness, Hannah Stapleton and nieces Summer Ratledge and Barley and Chloe Stone were flower girls.
After a wedding trip to Negril, Jamaica, the couple are living in Seymour.
The bride is a graduate of the University of Tennessee, Knoxville, and is employed with the State of Tennessee Department of Mental Health and Developmental disabilities as a licensure surveyor. She is the granddaughter of Loraine Ratledge, the late Lon Ratledge, the late Robert James and Francis Lee Quigg.
The bridegroom is employed by Knoxville Utilities Board. He is the grandson of Peggy Knight, the late Albert Turpin and the late Gladys and Troy Rogers.

Safewright - Ballew (2004 November 15)
Michelle Janeene Ballew of Maryville, daughter of Susie Ellis of Rocket, Texas, and the late Charles Ballew, was united in marriage with Stephen Andrew Safewright of Maryville, son of Mr. and Mrs. Stephen Safewright of Kingsport, Oct. 28 at a private beach ceremony in St. Lucia.
The bride is a graduate of the University of North Texas and West Texas A&M University. She serves as the assistant dean of students for Campus Life at Maryville College.
The bridegroom is a graduate of East Tennessee State University. He works for Aramark as the director of food services at Maryville College.

Shelley Fausnight of Maryville was maid of honor. Bridesmaids were Trudy Woods of Maryville, sister of the bridegroom, Jill Smith of Maryville and Marsha Yates, sister - in - law of the bride. Junior bridesmaid was Haley Melton, daughter of the bride. They wore apple red, two - piece, strapless, A - line, floor - length gowns and carried bouquets of white roses with red tips.
Stacy Ridenour kept the bride's book.
