James Gray
Services for James Lester "Pete" Gray, 58, Kemp, were held Jan. 15, 2003, at Aley United Methodist Church of Seven Points with the Rev. Eston Williams officiating. Burial was in Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery in Dallas, under the direction of Tomlinson Funeral Home, Seven Points.
He was born Feb. 10, 1944 in Kansas and died Jan. 12.2003, in Dallas.
He was disabled in 1969 while serving with the U.S. Army. He was a member of the Paralyzed Veterans of America, and was vice-president of the Lone Star chapter of Paralyzed Veterans and was a National Director of Paralyzed Veterans. He was a veterans peer counselor at the VA Hospital and a registered lobbyist for Federal Government. He was a recipient of the Silver Star, U.S. Army.
Survivors include his parents, James and Juanita Gray, Kemp; children, Susan Halstead, Gun Barrel City; and Jimmy Gray, Jacksonville, Fla.; sister, Diane Hake, Calif.
Memorials may be made to Aley United Methodist Church Scholarship Fund, 1215 West Cedar Creek Parkway, Seven Points, TX 75143.

Claude Dove
Services for Claude Dove, 60, Chandler, were held Jan. 15, 2003, at Eubank memorial Chapel in Mabank with Rev. James Howard officiating. Interment followed in Elm Grove Cemetery in Van Zandt County under the direction of Eubank Cedar Creek Funeral Home of Mabank.
Dove was born Dec. 22, 1942, in Grundy County, Tenn., to James Arnold and Susie Louise (Bateman) Dove and died Jan. 12, 2003, in Tyler. He was preceded in death by his father, James Arnold Dove; sister, Berta Boscaino and brother, Jimmy Dove.
Survivors include his wife, Mary Dove, Chandler; son, Carl Dove and wife Kristi, Chandler; daughters, Cindy Dove Manning and husband, Mark, Mabank; Claudette Taglialagain and husband, Tony, Edgewood, N.M.; step-son, Clinton Smith, Winter haven, Fla.; mother, Susie Dove, Tracy City, Tenn.; ten grandchildren; brothers, Dewey Dove and wife, Phyliss, So. Vienna, Ohio; Jack Dove and wife Janet, Pinellas Park, Fla.; William Dove and wife, Diane, Ravanna, MI; John Dove and wife, Mavis, Tracy City, Tenn.; Leon Dove and wife, Linda, Dade City, Fla.; sisters, Betty Goodwin, Fort Mead, Fla.; Bonita Guyear and Joe Childers, Tracy City, Tenn.; mother-in-law, Helen McGee, Chandler; nieces, nephews and other family members and a host of friends.

George Parker
Services for George Parker, 93, Gun Barrel City, were held Jan. 11, 2003, at the Church of the Nazarene in Gun Barrel City with the Rev. Ed Schauer officiating. Burial followed in Oak Lawn Cemetery in Mabank, under the direction of Tomlinson Funeral Home of Seven Points.
Parker was born Feb. 19, 1910, Philadelphia, Pa., and died Jan. 9, 2003, in Kaufman.
He was a technician in Aerospace for Convair in Fort Worth since 1947. He retired in 1975. He was a member of the Church of the Nazarene.
Survivors include his son, Pershing Parker and his wife, Muriel; two grandchildren, Tom Parker, Hamilton, Mont.; and Windy DiPinto, Longmeadow, Mass.; five great grandchildren, Sam Parker, Rebecca Parker and Matthew, Zachary and Dennis Di Pinto.
Pallbearers were Cliff Bass, Jerry Brady, Danny Brown, Larry Dean, Randy Morris and John Whittley.

Marion Hopper
Military graveside services for Marion Richard "Dick" Hopper, 82, were scheduled Jan. 15, 2003, at Prairie Springs Cemetery with Bro. Steve Glosup and the Rev. Louie Barron officiating under the direction of Hilliard Funeral Home, Van.
Hopper was born Dec. 12, 1920, in Neches and died Jan. 12, 2003, at his residence.
He was a resident of Colfax most of his life. He worked in the sheet metal business 17 years for Titus Industry and for Brown & Root Co. for 14 years.
Survivors include his wife, Enid Lucille Hopper, Colfax; son, Dickie Hopper, Van; daughters, Katherine Phillips and Gay Page, both of Canton; Carla Hefti, Mabank; and Shirley Paschal, Van; sisters, Mary Stewart, Neches; and Eller Norton, Sherman; brother, Pete Hopper, Cedar Hill; 12 grandchildren; and 14 great grandchildren.
Pallbearers were grandsons Denny Phillips, Mike Phillips, Tommy Page, Edward Hopper, Andrew Hopper, Jackie Hefti and Dalton Parsons.

Ann Chambers
Services for Ann Chambers, 67, Mabank, were held at Eubank Memorial Chapel, Jan. 14, 2003, with the Rev. Barry Boatright and Rev. Thurman Boatright officiating.
Interment was in Roselawn Memorial Gardens under the direction of Eubank Cedar Creek Funeral Home of Mabank.
Chambers was born Jan. 11, 1936, in Dallas and died Jan. 12, 2003 in Athens.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Charles Preston Vest and Ernestine Doxey Vest.
She was a homemaker. Previously of Dallas she had lived here since 1990.
She was a member of the Christian Life Center in Gun Barrel City.
Survivors include her husband, Billy E. Chambers Sr., Mabank; sons, Billy E. Chambers Jr. and wife, Nina, Tacoma, Wash.; Shawn Casey Bracken and wife, Pat, Fort Hood; daughter, Billie Susann Harlan, Fort Hood; sister, Shirley Hamm, Lone Oak; three grandchildren; five great grandchildren; other family members and a host of friends.

George Norman Davis, Jr.
A memorial service for George Norman Davis Jr., 59, Malakoff, was held in the Eubank Memorial Chapel with the Rev. Don Hicks officiating, under the direction of Eubank Cedar Creek Funeral Home of Mabank.
Davis was born Jan. 26, 1943, in Duncan, Okla., and died Jan. 3, 2003, in Athens. He was preceded in death by "Baby Sis" Marjorie Louise.
He was a furniture refinisher and a Vietnam veteran of the U.S. Army.
He was a member of the Trinity Baptist Church in Lake Charles, La., and had lived in Malakoff four years.
Survivors include his wife, Mona Davis, Malakoff; parents, George Norman Davis Sr., Comanche, Okla; and Helen Davis Ford, Malakoff; son, Norman Davis and wife, Christy, Beaumont; daughter, Micheala Parker and husband, Chris, Plano; granddaughters, Makenzie Parker, Brianna Davis and Rebekah Davis.

Verlie Graham
Services for Verlie Graham, 90, Eustace, were held Jan. 12, 2003, in the Eustace Church of Christ with Bro. Lester Reagan officiating.
Interment was in Cottonwood Cemetery under the direction of Eubank Funeral Home of Canton.
Graham was born July 7, 1912, in Henderson County, to A.T. and Della Choate Engle, and died Jan. 10, 2003, in Mabank.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 65 years, Arnold Crawford Graham; son, Kent Graham, parents; and a sister, Inez Hastings.
Survivors include daughter and son-in-law, Sandra and Steve Fuentez, Mabank; son and daughter-in-law, Stanley and Charlotte Graham, Eustace; sister, Frances Abercrombie, Eustace; five grandchildren, Teresa Findley, Mark Sanders, Kevin Graham, Susan Ryan and Monte Sanders; seven great grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews and other relatives.
Pallbearers were Kevin Graham, J. Findley, Pete Gargiulo, Mark Sanders, Joe Graham and Kirby Hardy.

Eula Allene Reese
Graveside services for Eula Allene Reese, 86, Kemp, were held Jan. 17, 2003, in Grove Hill Memorial Park in Dallas, under the direction of Tomlinson Funeral Home of Seven Points.
Reese was born April 22, 1916, in Cleburne, and died Jan. 15, 2003, in Kemp.
She was a homemaker and Baptist by faith.
Survivors include special friend Essie Mae Young, Tool. Reese and Young were like mother and daughter; brother and sister-in-law, William and Geneva Veal, Marlin.

Forbe M. Crowell
Services for Forbe M. "Chief" Crowell, 84, Wills Point, were held Jan. 7, 2003, at Oak Grove Baptist Church with the Rev. Steve Glosup officiating.
Burial was in Haven of Memories Memorial Park under the direction of Eubank Funeral Home of Canton.
Crowell was born Jan. 11, 1919, in Canton to the late Arbe John and Maggie Smith Crowell, and died Jan. 11, 2003, in Terrell.
He grew up in the Canton area and served in the Army during World War II.
He lived in the Lake Tawakoni area for more than 40 years.
Survivors include sons, Billy Crowell, Edgewood; and Larry Crowell, Canton; daughter, Linda Walsh, Seven Points; brother, James Crowell, Dallas; sister, Gladys Morgan, Arlington; close friend, Shirley Henderson, Canton; seven grandchildren; and one great grandchild.
Pallbearers were Sammy Gunter, Claude Parks, Chick Chaney and John Walsh.

John William "Dutch" Grimes
Services of remembrance for John William "Dutch" Grimes, 71, of Eustace, were held Monday at the Anderson Clayton-Brothers Funeral Home Chapel in Kemp, with the Rev. Dub Henry officiating. Interment followed in the Palmer Cemetery in Palmer, under the direction of Anderson-Clayton Bros. Funeral Home of Kemp.
He was born July 14, 1931, in Denton County, to the late George and Ida Mae Wafer Grimes, and died Wednesday, March 12, 2003, in Eustace.
He lived in Eustace for the past 17 years, and retired from Choice Homes in 1996, where he was a superintendent.
Most recently he was employed with Anderson-Clayton Bros. Funeral Home as a funeral director assistant.
He married Benetta Locklin April 7, 1971, in Oklahoma.
Survivors include his wife, Benetta Grimes of Eustace; sons, John Grimes Jr., and wife Donna of Alaska, Duane Grimes and wife Bobbie Lynn of Garland, Victor Grimes of Garland, and Steve Chandler of Paris, Mickey Woods and wife Judy of Dallas, Eddie Ray Woods and wife Pat of Garland; daughters, Sandra Grissom and husband Gene, of Lively, Debbie Wileman of Garland, Terri Jo Whetstine and husband Jon of Trafalgar, Indiana; Cheryl Chandler and husband, Bernie of Orange Grove, Nita Smith and husband Walter of Seagoville, Tracy Wesberry and husband Bob of Mabank; 26 grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Pallbearers were Gene Grissom, Duane Grimes, Mike Castillo, Darrell Cravey, Matt Rawlinson, David Ballard, Mike Day and J.D. Jennings.

Christian Madujano
Graveside services for Christian Manduiano, infant, of Tool, were held Sunday at Cedar Creek Memorial Park, with the Rev. George Yarger officiating, under the direction of Eubank Cedar Creek Funeral Home of Mabank.
He was born and died Thursday, March 13, 2003, in Athens.
Survivors include his mother and father, Esthela Mandujano and Jose Mandujano of Tool; sisters, Katy Mandujano and Rachel Mandujano of Tool; brother, Tony Ridriguez of Dallas; grandfathers, Jose Trinidad Mandujano Mejia, and Antonio Velasquez of Tool; and grandmother, Maria de Jesus Molibe Pala Fox.

Florence Hazel Johnstone
Memorial services for Florence Hazel Johnstone, 86, Kemp, were held March 18, 2003, at Lakeview Assembly of God in Seven Points, with the Rev. Don Bell and D.G. Council officiating.
Burial followed in Ware Cemetery, Tolosa, under direction of Tomlinson Cedar Creek Funeral Home, Seven Points.
Mrs. Johnstone died March 15, 2003, in Kemp.
She was born March 7, 1917, in Bedias. She retired in the 1970s from the nutritional services of the Kemp Independent School District. She was a member of Lakeview Assembly of God in Seven Points, served as an evangelist and was active in Women's Ministry.
Survivors include sons, Tommy Johnstone of Kemp and Glen Johnstone of Wylie; a daughter, Darlene Trimble of El Paso; a sister, Ruth Cockran of Calvert; a brother, Bill Hall of Tyler; and seven grandchildren.

Sheri Nottingham Lawrence
Services for Sheri Nottingham Lawrence, 34, of Gun Barrel City, were held March 17, at the First Assembly of God Church, with the Rev. Danny Cope officiating, under the direction of Eubank Cedar Creek Funeral Home of Mabank.
She was born Jan. 8, 1969, in Dallas, and died March 15, 2003, in Gun Barrel City.
She was a bus minister for the First Assembly of God Church and a Missionette leader.
Survivors include her husband, Robert Lawrence of Gun Barrel City; father, David Nottingham of Payne Springs; mother, Linda Nottingham of Payne Springs; daughters, Chelsea Nicole See of Gun Barrel City and Kaitlyn Breanna Lawrence of Gun Barrel City; son, Trent Daniel Lawrence of Gun Barrel City; step-son, Robert James Lawrence Jr. of Lewisville; and sister, Teresa Jackson of Garland.
Pallbearers included James Lawrence, Clay Parker, Todd Sain, Brent Taylor, Derek Taylor and Jacob Taylor.
