James Ray Baker
Services for James Ray Baker, 68, Kemp, were held July 26, 2004, at the Anderson Clayton Brothers Funeral Home Chapel in Kemp with the Rev. Steve Hawkins and Rev. Kellan Warren officiating.
Interment followed in King Cemetery under the direction of Anderson Clayton Brothers Funeral Home of Kemp.
Baker was born Aug. 8, 1935, in Forney to the late James Russell and Sybil Arbuckle Baker and passed away July 23, 2004, in Kemp.
He is preceded in death by a son, Steven Baker, in 2002.
He had lived in the Kemp area for the past 18 years and was a member of the Liveley Missionary Baptist Church.
He married Mary Williamson May 21, 1987, in Lively.
Survivors include his wife, Mary Baker, Kemp; son, James Scott Baker, Crandall; stepson, Bryant Whiteley, Georgia; grandchildren, Stephanie Raeanne Grimes, Austin; Kimber Ryan Baker, Balch Springs; stepgrandchildren, Tyler Bryant, Joshua Trey ;and Taylor Brooke Whiteley, all of Georgia; sisters, Joyce Carlew, Royse City; Marsha Lemons, Grand Prairie; and Danna Howell, Fort Worth; and numerous other friends and relatives.
Pallbearers were Brian Carlew, John Carlew, Johnny Stevens, Gregory Stevens, Dewey Haley and Jack Haley.
Honorary pallbearers were Neal Carlew and Bill Barnes.

Pauline Clevenger
Pauline Gail Williams Clevenger was born Jan. 18, 1923, in Sunrise, Okla., and died July 23, 2004, at the home of her granddaughter Amy Baird.
She married Orval Roscoe Clevenger May 13, 1939, in Amarillo.
During World War II they were in charge of the Superior Entry Lighthouse in Superior, Wisc. with the Coast Guard.
The couple's love for history and American Indian Folklore were evident in their home and lives.
They were involved with Panhandle Plains Archeology Society where they helped with American Indian studies.
Orval and Pauline were faithful to their Lord for more than 60 years.
They were members of the San Jacinto Church of Christ in Amarillo for 40 years.
After their relocation they joined the Malakoff Church of Christ and after Orval's death in 1989, she moved her membership to Highway 85 Church of Christ in Seven Points.
Survivors include her daughter, Lynn Carroll, Kemp; grandson, Aaron Hamilton Carroll, U.S. Navy, Pensacola, Fla.; Eddie and Amy Britton Baird and their new daughter, Abigail, born July 21; another great-granddaughter, Chelsie Leeann Carroll, Jackson, Mo.; many nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of friends.

Dorothy E. Jones
Services for Dorothy E. Jones, 81, Mabank, were held Aug. 10, 2004, at the First Baptist Church of Mabank with the Rev. Brent Tucker officiating. Interment followed in the Mesquite City Cemetery.
Jones was born March 24, 1923, in Mesquite to James Porter and Jessie Myrtle (Davison) Edwards, and died Aug. 6, 2004, in Tyler.
She attended schools in Pleasant Grove.
Previously of Collinsville, she lived in Mabank since 1989.
She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star, and was an active member of the First Baptist Church of Mabank.
Survivors include her husband, L.E. Jones; sons, Johnny C. Musser and wife Dolly, Dallas; Charles C. Musser and wife Peggy, Arlington; grandchildren, Richard Glenn Musser, Dallas; Tammy Musser Paul, Knoxville, Tenn.; Johnnie C. Musser Jr., Dennison; Bryan Edward Musser, Mesquite; and Everette D. Musser, Wills Point; sister, Lois Barnes, Princeton; brother, James P. Edwards, Galveston; other family members and a host of friends.

Mary Gentry
Graveside services for Mary Gentry, Mabank, formerly of Odessa, were held Aug. 11, 2004, at the Resthaven Memorial Park in Corsicana, with the Rev. John Howard officiating. Arrangements were under the direction of New Hope Funeral Home in Sunnyvale.
Gentry was born May 21, 1920, and passed away Aug. 8, 2004.
Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law, M.L. and Dorothy Stutts, Odessa; five grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; four nieces; five nephews; several great-nephews and great-nieces.
Family requests memorials be made to the West Place Nursing Center, P.O. Box 232, Athens, TX 75751, or Genesis Hospice Care, 201 Saint Tomas Dr., Athens, TX 75751.

Betty Pitts
Services for Betty Pitts, 72, Mabank, were held Aug. 7, 2004, at the Eubank Memorial Chapel with the Rev. Bryan Porr officiating. Burial was in Dallas/Fort Worth National Cemetery under the direction of Eubank Cedar Creek Funeral Home of Mabank.
Pitts was born Jan. 10, 1932, in Dallas, and died Aug. 4, 2004, in Mabank.
She was preceded in death by her son, Thomas Edward "Eddie" Pitts; sisters, Monett Shawnfield, Ileane Pogue, Ireana Morris and Elsie French; brothers, Walter Morris and Woddy Morris; mother, Minnie (Bennett) Morris; and father, Carlin Waterson Morris.
She was an assembly worker.
Previously of Waxahachie, she had lived in Mabank for eight years.
Survivors include her husband, Curry Eugene Pitts, Gun Barrel City; son, Warren Pitts and wife Freida, Big Sandy; daughters, Cathy Girard and husband Ronnie, Mabank; and Kirby Pitts, Midlothian; daughter-in-law, Linda Pitts, Kemp; 10 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; brothers, George Morris, Arkansas; and Leon Morris, Avalon.

Jennie V. Wier
Services for Jennie V. McLauchlin Wier, Eustace, were held Aug. 9, 2004, in Eubank Memorial Chapel, Mabank with the Rev. Brenda Wier officiating.
Interment was in Payne Springs Cemetery under the direction of Eubank Cedar Creek Funeral Home of Mabank.
Wier was born Nov. 25, 1920, in Eustace and died Aug. 7, 2004.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Glenn Wier, three sisters and one brother.
Survivors include her daughters, Glenda Weaver and husband Ralph; Michele Martin and husband John; son Mike Wier and wife Jan; five grandchildren; one great-grandchild; numerous nieces and nephews.
Family requests memorials be made to the church or charity of choice.

Donald Waldrep
Graveside services for Donald Ray Waldrep, Kemp, were held Aug. 18, 2004, at the Kemp Cemetery.
He was born May 5, 1945, in Sulphur Springs to Josie and Jimmy G. Waldrep.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and an infant son, Danny Ray Waldrep, June 9, 1988.
Survivors include his wife, Brenda Elliott Waldrep of Kemp; brothers, Jimmy Waldrep Jr., Dallas, and Jimmy D. Waldrep, Pittsburg; sisters, Lou Jones, Tyler and Helen Donaldson, Tyler.
The family received friends Aug. 17 at Anderson Clayton Bros. Funeral Home in Kemp.
