Services for Patricia Mae Harris, 58, Emory, were held Jan. 12, 2005, in the First Assembly of God Church. Burial was in Post Oak Cemetery under the direction of Tomlinson Funeral Homes in Malakoff.
Harris was born Jan. 6, 1947, in Dallas to the late Jesse Thomas Hayes Sr., and Roma Jo Hayes Hall, and died Jan. 9, 2005, in Baylor Medical Center.
She was a housewife.
Survivors include her husband, Billy Harris, Emory; sons, Jimmy and Teresa Harris, Sunnyvale; John Swofford, Mesquite; daughters, Tammy and Jim Jenkins, Irving; Stacy and Richard Wiegel, Forney; brother, Tommy and Diana Hayes, Malakoff; grandchildren, Jacob Harris, Casey Cox, Shelby Harris, Joshua Jenkins, Trevor Wiegel and Alyssa Wiegel.
Pallbearers were Joe Harris, Jim Myers, Tommy Hubbard, Bo Hubbard, Bubba Hayes, Donnie Hustead, Mike Monroe and Al Norris.

Robert Davis
Services for Robert "Bob" Davis, Kemp, were held Jan. 8, 2005, in Anderson-Clayton Chapel in Mesquite under the direction of Anderson-Clayton Funeral Home in Mesquite.
Davis was born July 26, 1935, in Mesquite and died Jan. 6, 2005, in Kemp.
Survivors include his wife, Kay Davis of Kemp; children, Richard Allen Davis and wife Deanna; Robert L. Davis Jr. and wife Carol; Kayla Perez and husband Joe; and Michael Payne and wife Sherry; grandchildren Lee, Kasey, Candice, Heather, Odessa, Crystal, Chris, Penny and Robbie; and five great-grandchildren.

Rivian Monroe
Services for Rivian Jewels Maria Monroe, 22 days, Chandler, were held Jan. 9, 2005, in Cedar Creek Memorial Park with the Rev. George Yarger officiating under the direction of Eubank Cedar Creek Funeral Home in Mabank.
Survivors include mother, Carrie Lynn Monroe; father, Jason Claude Meek of Chandler; brother, Brenden Monroe of Chandler; grandfather, Tony Monroe of Payne Springs; one aunt; one uncle; and cousins.

Joe Lopez
Services for Joe Lopez, 24, Dallas, were held Jan. 8, 2005, in the Anderson Clayton Bros. Chapel with the Rev. Leonard Eason officiating. Interment followed in the King Cemetery.
Lopez was born May 21, 1980, in Dallas and passed away Jan. 3, 2005. in Dallas.
Survivors include his son, Joshua Aidan Velez of Gun Barrel City; mother, Emily Martinez of Dallas; beloved girlfriend, Jessica Velez of Gun Barrel City; aunts, Jerolyn Darr and Elaine Guerra, both of Dallas; and uncle, Jesse Guerra of Dallas.

Claudie Stone
Services for Claudie "Tokey" Stone, 82, Kemp, were held Jan. 11, 2005, in the Anderson Clayton Bros. Chapel with the Rev. Richard Fulton officiating. Interment followed in the King Cemetery under the direction of Anderson Clayton Bros. of Kemp.
Stone was born Oct. 15, 1922, in the Aley Community to the late Marion Alexander and Minti (Bateman) Stone, and passed away Jan. 8, 2005, in Athens.
He was Baptist by faith and was a veteran of the U.S. Army, serving during World War II.
Survivors include his wife of 51 years, Lou Stone of Kemp; a daughter, Claudie Jean Hudspeth of Aley; two grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Polly R. Holmes
Services for Polly R. Holmes, 81, Gun Barrel City, were held Jan. 10, 2005, in Wesley Chapel with the Rev. James Howard officiating. Burial was in Wesley Chapel Cemetery under the direction of Eubank Cedar Creek Funeral Home in Mabank.
Holmes was born June 15, 1923, in Wills Point and died Jan. 7, 2005, in Malakoff. She was preceded in death by her mother, Jessie Hill, and father, Robert Johnson.
She was a homemaker.
Survivors include her sons, Roy Gene Holmes of Gun Barrel City, Jeff Robert Holmes of Arlington, Donald Lane Holmes of Gun Barrel City, Louis Ray Holmes of El Paso, Douglas Wayne Holmes of Tyler, and Jessie Lloyd Holmes of Arlington; a daughter, Rachella Pauline Dixon of Ennis; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; nieces, nephews, other family members and many friends.

Guy Pops
Services for Guy Pops, 74, Mabank, were held Jan. 11, 2005, in Eubank Memorial Chapel with the Rev. Kenneth Hensley officiating.
Burial was in Heath Cemetery under the direction of Eubank Cedar Creek Funeral Home of Mabank.
Pops was born May 12, 1930, in Kaufman and died Jan. 8, 2005, in Athens. He was preceded in death by one granddaughter, one grandson, father A.D. Pope, mother Bertha (Helmer) Pope, four brothers and one sister.
Previously of Irving, he lived in Mabank 27 years and was a marina owner.
Survivors include his sons, Billy Neal and wife Joann, Jimmy King and wife Sandy, and Butch Lawson and wife Barbara, all of Mabank; 11 grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren; a brother, Bud Pope and wife Virginia of Point; a sister, Sadie Ricken of Irving; nieces, nephews, other family members and a host of friends.
Pallbearers were Billy James Neal, Red Neal, James King, Doug Rush, Jimmy Moore and Josh Neal.

Charles Ray Brown
Services for Charles Ray Brown, 76, Tool, were held Jan. 8, 2005, in Eubank Memorial Chapel with the Rev. Ted Eaton officiating.
Burial was in Tool Cemetery under the direction of Eubank Cedar Creek Funeral Home in Mabank.
Brown was born Aug. 24, 1928, in Dallas and died Jan. 5, 2005, in Athens.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Orene Brown; daughter, Sharon Turk; father, Arthur Moody Brown; and mother, Annie Rachel Brown.
He was an air-conditioning/heating technician.
Previously of Dallas, he lived in Tool for 16 years. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army.
Survivors include his daughter, Sherry Strange and husband Bobby of Desoto; son, Dennis Brown of Tool; grandchildren, Chris and Lance Brown, Aaron Turk, Sarah Cantrell and Cory Strange; great-grandchildren, Chris and Eric Brown; brother, Bill Brown, Houston; sisters, Jean Corley of Mabank and Liz Pierce of Gun Barrel City; nieces, nephews, other family members and a host of friends.
Pallbearers were Chris Brown, Cory Strange, John Cantrell, Aaron Turk, Clint Venable and Brad VanArsdell.
Honorary pallbearers were Larry Farrah, Tom Hardy, Charles Banner and Bill Brown.

Bobby Smith
Services for Bobby Earl Smith, 57, Malakoff, were held Jan. 8, 2005, at Antioch Baptist Church in Malakoff with the Rev. Hodge officiating.
Burial was in Steen Cemetery under the direction of John R. Harmon Undertaking Co., Tyler.
Smith was born Dec. 15, 1947, in Malakoff and died Dec. 30, 2004, in an Athens hospital.
He was preceded in death by his father and one son.
He was a lifelong resident of Henderson County and attended St. Paul public schools.
He retired from Union Pacific Railroad, was a member of First Baptist Church and a former Mason. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army.
Survivors include his wife, Geneva Smith of Malakoff; son, Bobby Smith III of Ohio; daughters, Anita Smith and Tyshenia Smith, both of Malakoff; mother and stepfather, Annie and Elbert Sparks of Malakoff; brothers, Paul Redic of Sand Flat and Edward Townsel of Tyler; sisters, Ann Barker of Casey City, and Anette Holmes and Gwen Redic, both of Tyler; and one grandchild.
Pallbearers were Dave Chisolm, Charles Willis, B.J. Thomas, Roy Fazier, John Comby and R.J. Williams.
Honorary pallbearers were Edward Polk Jr., Ricky Thomas, Larry Graves, Jessie Brooks, Lester Brown and Johnny Davis.

Kendall Elwood Gordon
Services were held for Kendall Elwood Gordon, 70, Mabank, Dec. 28, 2004, at Eubank Cedar Creek, with the Rev. Kenneth Hensley and the Rev. Bobby Sapp officiating.
Interment followed in Prairieville Cemetery under the direction of Eubank Cedar Creek Funeral Home.
Gordon was born Sep. 21, 1934, in Whitehall. He passed away Dec. 24, 2004, in Mabank.
He was a Captain in the U.S. Air Force in which he served 20 years. He earned the National Defense Medal and Missle Badge. He served in Region 10 and received his education from Regional Service.
He was preceded in death by his father, Charles Wesley Gordon, and by his mother, Mabel Cleo (Jones) Gordon.
Survivors include his wife, Donna Lee Gordon of Prairieville; three sons, David Alan Gordon and wife Lisa of Arlington, Leland Charles Gordon and Chad Ostrom of Austin, and Glenn Evan Gordon and wife Emily of Arlington; two daughters, Laura Lee Kelson and husband Ron of Prairieville, and Ann Marie Davis and husband Mike of Greenville; six grandchildren, Eric, Sara, Evant and Adam Gordon, and Timothy and Christopher Keele; brother, Ronald Gordon and wife Lucy of Columbia, S.C.; niece and nephew, Ronald Gordon Jr. and Margaret Gordon.
Pallbearers were Timothy Keele, Christopher Keele, Homer Thomas, Howard Jones, Clifford Jones Jr. and Eric Gordon.

Jerry Lee Buss
Memorial services were held for Jerry Lee Buss, 63, of Plano, Dec. 29, 2004, at Restland Wildwood Chapel, Dallas.
Buss passed away Dec. 26, 2004, after having lost his battle with cancer.
He was a former resident of Farmersville for 30 years. He was a loving son, dear brother, devoted husband, wonderful father, joyful PaPaw and true friend who will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
He was preceded in death by his father, Kenneth Buss.
Survivors include his wife Sharon of Plano; three children, Margo Buss-Moore and husband Arthur of Brownsboro, Tracy Buss and wife Tamara of Norman, Okla., and LeeAnn Buss-Welborn and husband Nicky of Farmersville; eight grandchildren, Ashli of Chandler, Derek of Atlanta, Erin, Kaleb and Jaci Welborn of Farmersville and Gabriel, Cassandra and Hunter of Norman, Okla.; three great-grandchildren, Malori and Mati of Chandler and Mason of Atlanta; his mother, Belva Buss of Mabank, three sisters, Joann Kelso of Mabank, Jackie Elseman of Desoto and Janice Craig of Tyler; and one brother, Larry Buss of Rockwall.

Edith Harrison
Services were held for Edith Harrison, 91, of Kemp, Dec. 29, 2004, at Eubank Cedar Creek Funeral Home with the Rev. Brent Tucker officiating.
Burial was at Oaklawn Cemetery on U.S. Highway. 175 under the direction of Eubank Cedar Creek Funeral Home.
Harrison was born Dec. 4, 1913, in Beauxite, Ark. She passed away Dec. 26, 2004, in Athens.
She was a homemaker and a member of First Baptist Church of Mabank.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Ralph Harrison; her father, Robert Hill McClain; and her mother, Mrs. McClain.
Survivors include two sons, James Harrison of Rockwall, and Wray A. Harrison of Palo Alto, Calif.; five grandchildren, Carl, John, Anika Harrison, and Sam and Stacey LaBarbara; four great-grandchildren, Spencer, Jadye, Skylar and Addison; nieces, nephews and other family members.
