G. P. Owen Jr.
Services were held for G. P. Owen Jr., 78, of Cedar Creek Lake Dec. 29, 2004, at First Baptist Church in Malakoff with Bro. Robert Webb and Bro. Casey Perry officiating.
Burial was at Mankin Cemetery in Trinidad under the direction of Tomlinson Funeral Home in Malakoff.
Owen was born Nov. 20, 1926, in Hereford to Gleaves and Donnie Owen. He passed away Dec. 24, 2004, at his beloved home on Cedar Creek Lake.
He received his bachelor's degree from Hardin Simmons, then proudly served his country in the U.S. Army during World War II.
After his military service, he taught high school in Pecos, where he met his wife of 44 years, Jane Ellzy. He then received his master's degree in mathematics from the University of Texas.
He and Jane moved to Fort Worth in 1952 to work and rear their family. He worked as a computer programmer and systems analyst for Lockheed Martin for more than 41 years, then retired to Cedar Creek Lake.
After Jean's death in 1996, the beautiful Jean Corley from the other side of the lake came into his life.
He actively and joyfully served his Lord as a deacon and a Sunday school teacher at Broadway Baptist Church in Fort Worth, then at First Baptist Church of Malakoff until his death.
He is survived by his wife, Jean; son, Steve Owen and his wife Donna and their children, Brandon, Brody and Brice of Fort Worth; daughter, Susan Owen of Oklahoma City; Jean's children, Susan, Michael and Robert and their families. He had and dearly loved a glorious mess of brothers, sisters, nephews and nieces.

Doyle Stevens
Services of remembrance were held for Doyle Stevens, 79, Kaufman, December 18, 2004, at Anderson Clayton Bros. Funeral Home Chapel in Kemp, with the Rev. Lew Stokes officiating.
Interment followed in Lone Oak Cemetery in the Becker Community.
Stevens was born Doyle Hamilton Stevens, May 1, 1925, in Kemp, son of William Jenkins Stevens and Isora (Hamilton) Stevens. He passed away Dec. 15, 2004 in Kaufman.
He was a lifetime member of the Becker United Methodist Church and a veteran of World War II, serving in the U.S. Navy from Oct. 1, 1943 to April 1, 1946.
Stevens worked for Vought Industries, Inc. for 25 years before retiring to operate the farm in Becker.
Survivors include his wife, Betty Jo (Nance) Stevens, Becker; brothers and sisters, Frances Tarpley, Becker, William Stevens, Jr., Jiba, Doris Stephens, Mesquite; and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Pallbearers were John Kiser, Bob Franklin, Birl Jarosh, Johnny McKinney, Chris Becker, Matthew Stevens and Gary Stephens.

Anthony Strangi
Services were held for Anthony Strangi, 90, Mabank, Dec. 29, 2004, at Eubank Memorial Chapel, with the Rev. Barry Boatright officiating.
Burial was in Oaklawn Cemetery on U.S. Highway 175 under the direction of Eubank Cedar Creek Funeral Home.
Strangi was born Dec. 10, 1914, in Gulfport, Miss. He passed away December 26, 2004, in Athens.
Previously of Dallas, he lived in Mabank since 1978. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army serving in World War II, a member of the VFW, American Legion and the American Italian Club.
He was preceded in death by his father, Thomas Strangi; by his mother, Rosalee (Sylvestre) Strangi; and by his wife, Lois Whitman Strangi.
Survivors include three daughters, Vicki Gammons and husband Randy of Seagoville, Donna Cox of Lake Dallas, and Dolores Ohm of Clements, Calif.; six grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; a sister, Gloria Daniels of Dallas; and nieces, nephews and other family members.
Pallbearers were Scott Sands, Casey Sands, David Cox, Charley Cox, Rondie Kelley and Richard Langley.

Jennifer Finley
Memorial services for Jennifer Finley, 20, Mabank, were held Jan. 21, 2005, at the Eubank Memorial Chapel with the Rev. Terry Boyle officiating, under the direction of Eubank Cedar Creek Funeral Home in Mabank.
Finley was born Sept. 10, 1984, in Dallas and died Jan. 16, 2005, in Mabank. She was preceded in death by her father, Donnie Finley.
She was a student and had lived in Mabank all her life. She was a member of the Kilgore Police Academy.
Survivors include her mother, Sharon Holland (Self) Finley, Mabank; brother, Brian Holland and wife, Rhonda, Arlington; sister, Melia Menchoff and husband, Carl, Georgia; grandmother, Juanita Self, Mabank; an aunt, uncle, nephew and niece.

Catherine Orr Wallace
A Mass of Christian Burial was held for Catherine Orr Wallace, 92, Mabank, Jan. 21, 2005, in St. Jude Catholic Church with the Msgr. John Brennan officiating. Burial was in Calvary Hill Cemetery under the direction of Eubank Cedar Creek Funeral Home in Mabank.
Wallace was born Jan. 29, 1912, in Bee County and died Jan. 18, 2005, in Mabank. She was preceded in death by her mother, Nora (Corrigan) Diegel; father, Lewis Diegel; first husband, Jimmy Lee Orr Sr. in 1975; second husband, Choice William Wallace in 1986; and grandchild Jimmy Lee Orr.
She lived in East Texas since 1977.
Survivors include her two sons; seven grandchildren; a host of great-grandchildren; sister, Nora Gillespie, Mesquite; nieces, nephews, other family members and a host of friends.
Pallbearers were Alexander Smith, Randal Eubank, Richard Dale Delbert, Christopher Kerr, Michael Garner and Craig Detoyster.

Thomas Castillon
Tomas Gonzalez Castillon of Terrell passed away Jan. 19, 2005 in Mesquite.
Castillon was born March 19, 1923, to the late Juan Gonzalez and Otila Castillon in Zaragoza, Mexico. Tomas was preceded in death by his son, Tomas Gonzalez Jr., in 1987; great-grandchild, Juanito Gonzalez; five brothers and four sisters.
Survivors include his wife, Octavia Gonzalez of Terrell; children, Euerardo Gonzalez and wife Edna of Mabank, Luz Maria Galindo and husband Ramiro of Eagle Pass, Armando Gonzalez and wife Fay of Terrell, Juan Gonzalez of Terrell, Isabel Castaneda and husband Javier of Terrell, Jorge Gonzalez and wife Maria Dolores of Terrell, Hector Gonzalez and wife Maribel of Terrell, and Eduardo Gonzalez of Terrell; 17 grandchildren, four great-grandchildren; sisters, Evangelina Garza of Mexico and San Juana Flores of Crystal City; numerous nieces, nephews other relatives and friends.
Mass of Christian Burial was held Jan. 22, 2005, at St. John's the Apostle Catholic Church with Father Michael Forge officiating. Interment followed at Oaklawn Cemetery in Mabank.
Rosary was recited Jan. 21, 2005, at Anderson-Clayton Bros. Funeral Home in Terrell.

Delores Stegall
Services for Delores "Dee" Jean Stegall, 64, Mabank, were held Jan. 22, 2005, at the Eubank Memorial Chapel with the Rev. Steve Couch officiating.
Interment was in Moorehead-Melton Cemetery under the direction of Eubank Cedar Creek Funeral Home in Mabank.
Stegall was born Aug. 23, 1940, in Dallas and died Jan. 18, 2005, in Athens.
She was preceded in death by her father, Cecil Fox Hutson; mother, Thelma Springer; sister, Shirley Davis; brother, Cecil Eugene Hutson; and grandson, Justin Young.
She was a payroll clerk and a resident of Mabank for 25 years. She was an avid gardener, loved fishing and most outdoor activities.
Survivors include her husband, Billy Stegall of Mabank; sons, David Weaver and wife Boo of Malakoff; Daniel R. Weaver of Houston; daughter, Cindy Young and husband Storm of Houston; grandchildren, Amber, Krystal, Shawn, Jarred and Andris; brother, Jay Ross Hutson of DeKalb; sisters, Betty Lee Payne and Carol Vera, both of DeKalb; nieces, nephews, other family members and a host of friends.

Ruth Moseley
Services for Ruth Moseley, 78, Bryan, were held Jan. 26, 2005, at King Cemetery with the Rev. Kenneth Hensley officiating. Services were under the direction of Eubank Cedar Creek Funeral Home of Mabank.
Moseley was born Oct. 11, 1926, and died Jan. 21, 2005, in Bryan. She was preceded in death by her father, John Pevehouse; mother, Ina "Sapp" Pevehouse; brothers, Nathan and Jessie Pevehouse in 1997.
She was a resident of Gun Barrel City for 40 years and was a homemaker.
Survivors include her sons, Roy Hefti and wife Patricia, Bryan; Jeff Hefti, Bryan; and Jackie Hefti and wife Carla, Mabank; eight grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; sisters, Alma Patzke, Lake Jackson; and Mildred Clates, Maysfield; brothers, Virgil Pevehouse, Cameron; John Pevehouse Jr., Cameron; Charles Pevehouse, Rockdale; and Thomas Pevehouse, Taylor; nieces, nephews, other family members and a host of friends.

Daniel Blue
Memorial services for Daniel Blue, 34, Eustace, were held Jan. 23, 2005, at Carroll-Lehr Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Terry Adair officiating under the direction of Carroll-Lehr Funeral Home in Athens.
Blue was born April 20, 1970, in Terrell to Irby L. Blue and Jeanie Dean, and died Jan. 20, 2005.
He graduated from Eustace High School in 1989. He enjoyed working outdoors in his garden and loved to fish.
Survivors include his mother, Jeanie Dean of Jones, Okla.; father and stepmother, Irby and Brenda Blue of Tool; brother, Charlie Blue of Dallas; stepbrothers, Clifford Miller of Seven Points, Bill Lawrence of Shady Oaks; sisters and brothers-in-law, Janice and Roy Chambers of Brownsboro, Melody and J.J. Estrabrook of Collinsville; niece, Rachal Kirkwood of Brownsboro; nephews, Philip Kirkwood of the U.S. Navy, Wade Wilson of Collinsville, Wyatt Estrabrook of Collinsville; great nephew, Dakota Kirkwood of Brownsboro; and dear friend, Alan Buford.
Honorary pallbearers were Shane Carter, Brett Parker, Kerri Godwin and Billy Don Buford.

Irene Huston
Services for Irene Huston were held Jan. 25, 2005, in the Kaufman Cemetery.
Interment followed under the direction of Anderson Clayton Bros. of Kaufman.
Huston was born May 5, 1920, and passed away Jan. 22, 2005, in Malakoff. She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star, and Church of Christ by faith.
Survivors include her son, Henry Huston and his wife Linda of Grand Prairie; daughters, Ester Lee Tadlock of Cedar Hill, and Jenny Vee Copland of Dallas; 10 grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.

Avilde Lillie Seeb
Services for Avilde Lillie Rude Johnson Seeb will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, Jan. 31, 2005, at St. Peters Episcopal Church in Williston, N.D.
Seeb was born March 10, 1915, in rural Nelson County, Hamar/Tolna, N.D. She died Jan. 22, 2005, in Williston, N.D.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Herman and Marie Rude; siblings, Norman, Maynard and Helmer Rude, Idora Knutson, Helga Olen; and grandchildren Dean Knauss and Robbie Johnson.
She was a faithful and active member of St. Peter's Episcopal Church in Williston, N.D., and a resident the past year of the Bethel Lutheran Home.
Survivors include her children, Charlotte (Bernie) Knauss of Enchanted Oaks, Milo (Mary) of Cedar Hill, and Arland (Arlene) of Tool; sisters, Esther Olen Binford and Dagny Mannie Tolna, both of N.D.; and sister-in-law, Hazel Rude of Tolna, N.D.; 11 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren; also a host of special nieces and nephews, cousins and other relatives and friends.

Clemon T. Karis
Services for Clemon T. Karis, 83, Tool, were held Jan. 17, 2005, at the Tomlinson Funeral Home Chapel in Seven Points with Pastor Garoutte officiating. Burial was in Oak Lawn Cemetery in Mabank.
Karis was born Sept. 15, 1921, in Moultrie, Ga., and died Jan. 15, 2005, in Tool.
She was a computer technician and a member of the Aley Methodist Church. She was a member of the Cedar Creek Lakers.
Survivors include her grandson, Danny Lee Mayhew, Kemp; great-granddaughters, Tiffany and Jamie Mayhew, Kemp; and a host of friends.
