Haynes Ford
Haynes W. Ford was born in Scurry Dec. 20, 1927, to Jesse and Ida Haynes Ford, and died in Combine Feb. 13, 2006.
Haynes was raised in Scurry, and in the early 50s he lived in the Rand Community.
He moved to Kaufman in 1962 and then to Cedar Creek Lake in 1980. Haynes moved to Combine in 2005.
He served a short time in the U.S. Army during World War II and worked for the U. S. Postal service for 28 years.
He was a member of the Cottage Heights Baptist Church in Kaufman.
Jan. 11, 1947, Haynes married Maud Dell, Donawho in Kaufman.
Haynes was preceded in death by his wife Maud Dell, and two children, Bonnie Faye and Bobby Ray Ford.
He is survived by a daughter, Gale Crow of Combine; sons, Randy Ford and Jeff Ford, both of Kaufman; six grandchildren, five great- grandchildren and many other relatives and friends.
Funeral services were held Feb. 16, 2006, at Cottage Heights Baptist Church in Kaufman with the Revs. Todd Peavy and Darrill Deaton officiating.
Interment followed in Mount Olive Cemetery in Scurry under the direction of Parker-Ashworth Funeral Home of Kaufman.

Anne Burley
Services for Anne Kathryn Burley, will be held Saturday, Feb. 18, 2006, at Anderson Clayton Bros. Funeral Home in Kaufman. Burial will follow in Ola Cemetery.
Burley was born Nov. 2, 1962, in Hillsboro, Wisc., to Linda Faulkner and stepfather Fred Faulkner, Wisc., and died in a car accident at 7:27 a.m. Feb. 8, 2006, in Mabank.
She was a loving mother and grandmother. We are better for knowing her. She will be loved and missed dearly for the rest of our lives. She was an idol in our lives that will never be forgotten.
Survivors include her fiancé, Ricky Aslin, Tool; her mother, two brothers and one sister; 10 children and 18 grandchildren.

Bennie E. Woodrum
Services for Bennie E. Woodrum, Mabank, will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 18, 2006, at David Clayton and Sons Funeral Home, 200 West Center, Duncanville. Interment will be at a later date.
She was a member of the Beacon Church of Christ in Gun Barrel City and her legacy is one of joy, love, happiness, commitment, determination and service to everyone.
Survivors include her husband, Jack; daughter, Cindy; grandson, Manny Brock; brothers, Charles England of Cedar Hill; and David England of Canton; and sister, Dollie Switzer of Cedar Hill.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be sent to Cherokee Home for Children, P.O. Box 295, Cherokee, TX 76832-9989.

Walter Ditzler
Services for Walter E. Ditzler, 83, Mabank, were held Feb. 13, 2006, at the Eustace First Assembly of God Church with the Rev. James Howard officiating. Burial was in Goshen Cemetery under the direction of Eubank Cedar Creek Funeral Home in Mabank.
Ditzler was born April 4, 1922, in Shelbyville, Ill., and died Feb. 8, 2006, in Mabank.
He was a line supervisor for an auto manufacturer. Previously of Wisconsin, he had lived in the Mabank area since 1985, and was a Navy veteran of World War II. He was a member of Eustace First Assembly of God Church.
Survivors include his sons, Ronald E. Ditzler and wife Dorothy, Friendship, Wisc.; Charles O. Ditzler and wife Sue, Silver Lake, Wisc.; daughters, Anna Mae Nash, Mabank; Wanda E. Silas and husband Andy, Janesville, Wisc.; Barb A. Davis and husband Joe, Twin Lakes, Wisc.; Faith A. Lopez and husband Tommy, Knosha, Wisc.; Hope A. Dougherty and husband John, Manitowishwater, Wisc.; sister, Dorothy Aggas, Hornbruck, Calif.; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren; and other family members.

Wanda Yates-Wood
Services for Wanda Gayle Yates-Wood were held Feb. 11, 2005, at Roselawn Chapel with interment following at Lee Cemetery under the direction of Roselawn Funeral home in Seagoville.
Yates-Wood was born Feb. 20, 1950, in Kaufman County and died Feb. 8, 2006.
Survivors include her husband, Thomas Wood, Mesquite; daughters, Kimberly King and husband Eddie, Donalds S.C.; Rebecca Cartwright and husband James, Huron, Ohio; and Robin Wilkinson and husband Joda, Washington, Ga.; son, Michael Yates, Dalton, Ga.; stepson, Tommy Wood, Mesquite; grandchildren, Sierra, Jake, Carson, Adriel, Connor, Nicolette, Jordy, Christian, Cameron, Caleb and Sydnee; brother, Richard Tucker, Hawkins; sisters, Jessie Dalton, Trinidad; and Beverly Roberson, Mesquite; numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Kelcie Thompson
Services for Kelcie Doris Thompson, Kaufman, were held Feb. 10, 2006, at the Parker-Ashworth Funeral Home Chapel in Kaufman. Interment followed in Wilson Chapel Cemetery under the direction of Parker-Ashworth Funeral Home of Kaufman.
Thompson was born Oct. 6, 1927, in the Jiba Community to Alvis and Lucille Knowles Miller and died Feb. 8, 2006, in Gun Barrel City.
She was preceded in death by her grandchildren, Cory and Abbie Thompson.
She was raised in the Jiba Community and lived in Kaufman most of her life. She moved to the Cedar Creek Lake area in 1977. She married Vernon Quinton Thompson Dec. 13, 1944, in Terrell.
Survivors include her husband, Vernon Thompson, Mabank; son, Barry Thompson and wife Sharon, Kaufman; sisters, Lois Jones and her husband Johnny, Las Vegas, Nev.; Billie Nail, Austin; and nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.

Terry Hudspeth
Services for Terry Glenn Hudspeth, 41, Tool, were held Feb. 9, 2006, at the Eubank Memorial Chapel with the Rev. Larry Smeal officiating. Burial was in Tool Cemetery under the direction of Eubank Cedar Creek Funeral Home in Mabank.
Hudspeth was born July 23, 1964, in Dallas and died Feb. 6, 2006, in Gun Barrel City. He was preceded in death by his father, Joe Henry Hudspeth.
He was a meat cutter for Tom Thumb Food Stores. Previously of Dallas, he had lived in Tool for 33 years.
Survivors include his mother and stepfather, Kathy Mason and husband Doby, Tool; brothers, Darwin Mason and wife Davina, Mesquite; Joe Hudspeth and wife Darlene, Irving; Chris Hudspeth and wife Ethel, Douglasville; and Jesse Hudspeth and wife Virginia, Wills Point; sisters, Leslie Artzt, Tool; Shelly Lampkin, Arlington; and Patricia Dross and husband Dewayne, Wills Point; special friend, Rusty Crouch, Dallas.

Daniel Simpson
Services for Daniel "Danny" Simpson, 47, Payne Springs, were held Oct. 3, 2006, at the Eubank Memorial Chapel with the Revs. Sammy Tanner and Scott Proudfoot officiating. Burial was in Payne Springs Cemetery under the direction of Eubank Cedar Creek Funeral Home in Mabank.
Simpson was born July 17, 1959, in Beaumont and died Sept. 30, 2006, in Dallas.
He was a machine operator and had lived in Payne Springs for the past 10 years. He was a member of the Lamar Heights Baptist Church in Tennessee.
Survivors include his wife Melody Simpson, Payne Springs; sons Matthew Tonra, Payne Springs; Andrew Simpson, Payne Springs; daughter Kimberly Diane McLown, Tennessee; mother Frances Simpson, Batesville, Ark.; brother David Wayne Simpson, Batesville, Ark.; granddaughters, Lexie and Morgan McLown.

Pamela Lynn Martin
Services for Pamela Lynn Martin, 45, Tool, were held Oct. 3, 2006, at Grace Fellowship Church in Eustace with Patty Smith officiating. Burial was in Kemp Cemetery under the direction of Tomlinson Funeral Home in Seven Points.
Martin was born April 11, 1961, in Kaufman and died Sept. 26, 2006, in Athens. She was preceded in death by her father D.S. Houston in 1985 and stepfather Fred McGibboney Jr. in 2001.
She was the manager of an RV Park and member of Grace Fellowship of Eustace Assembly of God.
Survivors include her husband Rickey Martin, Tool; children Michelle Boyce, Athens; Misty Davis, Texarkana; Delores Mowery, Longview and Rickey Martin II, Kaufman; brothers Dan Houston, Tool; and Bailey Houston, Cayuga; sister Betty Gardner, Kaufman; mother Fern Houston McGibboney, Tool; stepbrothers Lee McGibboney, Mabank; and Ricky McGibboney, Big Sandy; stepsisters Pamela Meeks, Garland; Dortha Barnes, Big Sandy; and Juanita Mason, Henderson; many relatives and friends.
Pallbearers were Rodney Gardner, Ken White, Kevin Mowery, Randall Gardner, Kevin Gardner and Rickey Martin II.
Honorary pallbearers were Tony Palasota and Franklin Boyce.

Billy York Jr.
Services for Billy Lloyd York Jr., Kemp, are pending under the direction of Tomlinson Funeral Home, Seven Points.
York was born Sept. 8, 1952, in Fort Worth and died Sept. 26, 2006, in Kemp.
Survivors include his son Billy Lloyd York III, Oslo, Norway; daughter Kathryn Marie York, Austin; sisters Cherie York, Cleburne; Carla Daughabaugh, Austin; Waneta Boehringer, Mansfield; Dondi Stephens, Mansfield; and Carla Van Voltenburg.

Doris Colwell
Doris Maxine Colwell's wild ride here on earth began July 4, 1923, in Richland to R.C. and Grace McDaniel and came to an end Sept. 25, 2006, in Kileen.
At the time of her passing she was lovingly surrounded by her four daughters and several extended family members and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband Charlie Jackson Colwell Jr., sister Frances Griffin; brothers Billy and Danny Phillips.
Survivors include her brother Mike Phillips and wife Ann; daughters Patricia Bradshaw and husband Loren Bradshaw; Teresa Siewinski; Terry Owen and husband Don Owen; and Bonnie Wolfe; 14 grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren.
She was a true Texan at heart and loved all things western. She and her husband Charlie were in the cattle business for many years in the Dallas area.
Though they traveled extensively, she always called Texas home. Throughout her life Doris was independent and determined to be taken seriously.
She found the game of poker fascinating on many levels. She loved to win.
She lived a short time in Eustace with her daughter Terry and her husband Don Owen. We will miss her dearly.
A gathering was held Sept. 28, 2006, in the Old Fellowship Hall at the Acton Baptist Church. Graveside services followed at the Acton Cemetery in Acton.
