Michael D. Simons
(September 28, 1953 - July 23, 2012)

Michael (Mike) D. Simons, 58, of Spring Branch Houston, Texas, passed away Monday, July 23, 2012 in Spring Branch.
A memorial service honoring his life will be held Sunday, July 29, 2012 at 1:00pm at Oak Forest Baptist Church 1700 W. 43rd St. Houston, Texas 77018.
Visitation will be at the church with the family immediately following the service.
Mike was born on September 28, 1953 at Crane, Texas.
His parents are Carroll Simons and Lillie Simons.
He was preceded in death by his father, Carroll Simons.
He is survived by his mother, Lillie Simons of Huntsville, Texas; sister, Devran Wittenborn and husband, Warren of Bee Cave, Texas; brother, Steven Simons and wife, Tish of Huntsville, Texas. He is survived by an uncle, Rudy Spann of Nevada, Missouri, numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Mike graduated from SP Waltrip High School in Houston. His academic achievements were noted in Who’s Who Among Students in American Universities and Colleges 1987; Degrees: BS Science-Engineer, Math, 1987; University of Texas Permian Basin, BBA; act: Permian Honor Scholarship Foundation Inc, Honors in College Wk; Student Sen, Math-Science-Engineer Sen; Financial Management Association, Co-Founder; empl; UTPB, Student Assistant.
As Houston’s longtime Foosball Tournament Director and Promoter, he held the respect of thousands of players and promoters alike.
In 2007 he was awarded the prestigious Texas Legend of Foosball Award for his longtime commitment and passion for the sport.
His loss will be felt around the Foosball community worldwide and his memory and legacy will be honored forever.
A close friend said: “He was one of the kindest, warmest, most genuine souls I have ever met.
He was always willing to help anyone, and he always did it with that big smile on his face, never looking for anything in return.
I know I speak for many when I say we will all miss him dearly, but will never forget him".
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to either the American Cancer Society, Heart to Heart Hospice of Houston (North), 400 N. Sam Houston Pkwy. East, Suite 310, Houston, TX 77060, or to “Mike Simons’ Last Wishes Fund”.

Barbara Eileen Taylor
(December 4, 1946 - July 29, 2012)

Barbara Eileen (Weinrich, Zeltner) Taylor, age 65, died July 29, 2012, with her family by her side in Huntsville, Texas, ending a valiant 3 year battle with cancer.
She was born December 4, 1946, in St. Louis, Missouri, to Albert August Weinrich and Zelda Irene (Brady) Weinrich.
She graduated from Parkway Central High School in 1964.
After graduation she married Raymond Richard Zeltner and had 4 children, Pamela M. Eernisse, Paula E. Scroggins, Michael S. Zeltner, and Travis R. Zeltner. She was a homemaker until all the children were in school, and then spent most of her remaining years doing clerical work, and office management. In keeping with her wishes she will be cremated at Brooke Crematory in Huntsville, Texas. Mrs. Taylor is survived by her husband of 27 years, Robert E. Taylor; 3 children, Pam Eernisse, Paula Scroggins, and Michael Zeltner; 4 stepchildren, Theresa Crowder, Heath Taylor, Robin Malone, and Nicole Taylor; 2 brothers, Albert Weinrich and Robert Weinrich; 13 grandchildren; and 4 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, first husband Raymond R. Zeltner, son Travis R. Zeltner and brother Harold R. Weinrich. In her younger years she enjoyed sewing and cooking. In later years she thoroughly enjoyed dancing with her husband Robert, and visiting with the children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren.
In keeping with her wishes she will be cremated at Brooke Crematory in Huntsville, Texas.

Thomas Bridges
(May 24, 1930 - August 1, 2012)

Thomas Bridges, 82, of Trinity, TX passed away August 1, 2012 at his residence surrounded by his family.
Born May 24 1930 in Ocala, FL. to William and Ruth Bridges.
In keeping with his wishes he will be cremated at Brooke Funeral Home and Crematory in Huntsville, Texas.

Wanda Jean Harrison
(July 29, 1959 - August 4, 2012)

Wanda Jean Harrison, 53, of Trinity, TX passed away August 4, 2012 in Madisonville, TX.
Wanda was born July 29, 1959 to Clifford and Donnie Smith in Houston, Texas.
She is survived by her husband Billy Harrison, 2 Daughters; Eva Dominy and Tiffney Zahn. Her mother; Donnie Smith. 2 sisters; Janet Stanley and Candy Smith. 2 brothers; Wayne and Michael Smith. She is preceded is death by her father Clifford Smith and a sister Janessa smith.
A memorial service will be held to celebrate her life 1:00 pm Wednesday August 8, 2012 at the Brooke Funeral Home Chapel in Huntsville, TX. with Pastor Ron Conatser officiating.
In keeping with her wishes she will be cremated at Brooke Crematory.

Brian Langston Tracy
(July 9, 1967 - August 6, 2012)

Brian Tracy, 45, of Huntsville, Texas passed away Monday August 6, 2012 in Conroe, Texas.
Brian was born July 9, 1967 in Munich, Germany to Robert and Emogene Tracy.
Memorial services to celebrate his life will be held 11:00 AM Saturday August 11, 2012 at the Brooke Funeral Home Chapel.
In keeping with his wishes he will be cremated at Brooke Crematory in Huntsville.

Wanda Ruth Haacke
(October 19, 1923 - August 7, 2012)

Wanda R. Haacke, 88, a long time resident of Trinity, TX passed away August 7, 2012 in Huntsville, Texas.
Mrs. Haacke graduated High School in Milford Indiana, served in the Army during WWII as a nurse.
Moved to Texas in 1958 and was a resident of Trinity, Texas for over 20 years.
Mrs. Haacke was a people person and loved to work in her garden.
The family would like to thank Ella Smither Nursing Home and Heart to Heart Hospice for there care and dedication.
She is survived by her Daughter Pamela Nash and her husband Robert of Trinity, TX. 6 grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandchild.
She is preceded in death by her first husband; Odie Valentine, son; John Valentine and daughters; Paula and Gail Valentine. Her second husband; George Haacke.
In keeping with her wishes she will be cremated at Brooke Crematory in Huntsville, TX.

Bevra A. Rose
(January 26, 1937 - August 10, 2012)

Bevra A. Rose, a long time resident of Huntsville, passed away August 10, 2012 at her residence surrounded by her family. Mrs. Rose was born January 26, 1937 to Perry L. and Ella Fern Flagg who have both preceded her in death. She was 75 years old. Mrs. Rose co-owned and operated the U-Store-It Warehouse on US 190 with her husband, Elwood "Bud" T. Rose. Mr. Rose preceded in her in death in 2008 and she continued to operate the storage facility till she retired in 2009. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Huntsville, Texas. She is survived by 3 sons; Nile Rose and his wife Yolanda of Huntsville, TX. Edward Rose of Huntsville, TX. and Perry Rose of Charleston, SC. 2 sisters; Sandra Peterson of Rolling Prairie, IN. and Phyllis Olson of Laporte, IN. and Several Nieces and Nephews. Other family members that have preceded her death is a daughter; April Fern Rose, and Her brother; Leslie A. Flagg. Visitation will be held Tuesday August 14, 2012 from 6-8 PM at Brooke Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Wednesday August 15, 2012 at the Brooke Funeral Home Chapel. In keeping with her wishes she will be cremated following services at Brooke Crematory in Huntsville. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to First Choice Hospice of Huntsville, Texas.

Stella L. Carnes
(June 26, 1958 - August 13, 2012)

Stella L. Carnes 54 of New Caney, passed away Monday, August 13, 2012 at her residence.
In keeping with her wishes, she will be cremated at Brooke Crematory in Huntsville.
No services are scheduled at this time.

Dennis Lee Powell
(March 14, 1947 - August 21, 2012)

Dennis L. Powell, 65, of Point Blank, Texas passed away August 21, 2012 in Huntsville, Texas.
Mr. Powell was born March 14, 1947 in Houston, Texas to Leroy and Evelyn Powell.
He is survived by his 2 sons; Greg "Graig" Powell and Brian Powell both of Austin, Texas. 3 Sisters; Janet Powell Stupek, Wendy Powell Rossie and Barbara Powell Wilcox. 2 grandchildren; Chenoa and Cherina Powell.
The family will be conducting a memorial service Saturday August 25, 2012 from 10am Till Noon at the Point Blank Civic Center at Boat Launch and Counts Road in Point Blank, Texas.
In keeping with his wishes he will be cremated at Brooke Crematory in Huntsville, Texas.

Larry Gene Dorman
(June 22, 1949 - August 21, 2012)

Larry G. Dorman, 63, of Huntsville, Texas passed away August 21, 2012 at his residence surrounded by his family.
Mr. Dorman was born June 22, 1949 to Glenn and Susie Dorman in Muncie, Indiana.
He is survived by his wife Janyce Dorman of Huntsville, TX. A son; Dylan Leetch and his wife Josie of Tomball, TX. A Daughter; Kellie DeMattia and her husband Anthony of Huntsville, TX. 4 grandchildren Anthony, Malee, Samantha and Dylan Jr. 2 brothers; Ervil Cooper and his wife Linda and William "Bill" Dorman and his wife Debbie both of Muncie, Indiana. A sister Bonnie Hudson and her husband Mike of Winchester, Indiana.
In keeping with his wishes, private Services were held by the family and cremation handled at Brooke Crematory in Huntsville.

Ollie Joseph Bickford

Ollie J. Bickford, 74, of Livingston, Texas passed away August 22, 2012 in Conroe, Texas.
Mr. Bickford was born November 21, 1937 in Houston, Texas to Walter and Minnie Bickford.

The family will be conducting memorial services in Livingston, Texas.
