Ida Viola Rice, 90, of New Waverly, TX passed away November 20, 2012 in Huntsville, TX. Mrs. Rice was born January 19, 1922 in Inez, Tx. to Ed and Minnie Hoeser. She loved to play Bingo and was an avid Dallas Cowboy fan. She is survived by a son Jim Rice and his wife Norma of New Waverly, TX. 3 daughters; Leona Booth and her husband Kenneth of Nursery, TX. Devona Brieden and husband George of Devine, TX. and Mary Joyner and husband David of New Waverly, TX. 3 grandchildren; Bill, Kyle and Michelle. 5 great grandchildren; Kevin, Kristen, Nash, Kaylee and Maci. She is preceded in death by her husband, Robert Rice in 1969. Graveside services will be held Saturday November 24, 2012 at the Evergreen Cemetery in Devine, TX.

LeahAnn Shepard Lewis
(November 24, 1961 - November 25, 2012)

LeahAnn Shepard Lewis, 51, passed away Sunday November 25, 2012 in Huntsville, Texas. LeahAnn was a lifelong resident of Huntsville, Texas. She is survived by her son Shane Flournoy and his wife Alisha of Huntsville, TX. 3 grandchildren Jacob Jones, and Trey and Seth Flournoy. Also surviving her is her extended family. Memorial services will be held 6:00 PM Wednesday December 12, 2012 at the Wesley Memorial United Methodist Church located at 700 Hwy 30 Huntsville, Texas. In keeping with her wishes she will be cremated at Brooke Crematory.

Sandra Lee Brown
(September 6, 1947 - November 28, 2012)

Sandra Lee Brown, 65, of Huntsville, Texas passed away November 28, 2012 in Conroe, Texas. Sandra was born September 6, 1947 in Uniontown, PA. to Lloyd "Mac" and Betty Lee McDowell. In keeping with her wishes she will be cremated at Brooke Crematory and the family will hold private services at a later date.

Mary Margaret Back

Mary Margaret Back, 83, of Huntsville, TX. passed away December 9, 2012 in a local hospital. Mrs Back was born May 10, 1929 in Windsor, Ontario to William and Vonda Fraser. She worked as a manager for the telephone industry for many years retiring from Verizon. She loved to play Bridge with her family and friends. She is survived by her husband Art. W. Back of Huntsville, TX. 2 daughters; Karla Back and her husband, Peter Von Stackelberg of Alfred, New York; Laura (Joseph) Coughlin of Houston, TX. Also surviving her are 5 grandchildren. In keeping with her wishes she will be cremated at Brooke Crematory in Huntsville. Private services were held by the family.

Morris "Elmo" Perkins
(May 20, 1926 - December 11, 2012)

U.S. Veteran

Morris "Elmo" Perkins a resident of Huntsville, TX. passed away December 11, 2012 in Floresville, Texas. He was 86 years old. Mr. Perkins served in the US Marine Corp. during WWII and received the Purple Heart for wounds received in action at Iwo Jima. Born May 20, 1926 to Walter William "Boy" and Jewel Perkins in Hendrix, OK. He was in the car business for over 50 years. He is survived by his wife Joyce Marie Perkins of Huntsville, TX. Children Kenneth Allen Perkins, Kathi Ann Hubbard and husband Scott and Douglas William Perkins. 3 sisters; Louise Roberson, Mary Belle Gernantz and Barbara LaPrade. 1 brother; Larry Perkins and his wife Jeanette. 3 granddaughters; Tammy Waters and husband Sean, Tracy Hare and husband Joe and Mary Elizabeth Hubbard. 2 great grandsons; Dolyn Allen Waters and Ethen John Hare. In keeping with his wishes he will be cremated at Brooke Crematory. Memorial graveside services with military honors will be held 2:00 PM Friday January 11, 2013 at the Houston National Cemetery, Houston, Texas. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Solder's Angels-www.soldiersangels.org

Bert Bertram Kretzschmar
(October 24, 1930 - December 14, 2012)

Mr. Bert Bertram Kretzschmar, 82, of Huntsville, Texas passed away peacefully at his home surrounded by family December 14, 2012. Mr. Kretzschmar Was born October 24, 1930 in New Ulm, TX to Gustav and Isabella Kretzschmar. Served in the US Army during the Korean War, Member of St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church. He retired from George Mitchell and Associates and Louisiana Pacific. Enjoyed playing the game "42" with family and friends and was always ready to share a good joke.

He is survived by his wife Viola Kretzschmar of Huntsville, TX. 1 daughter Anita Jane Baker and her husband Bill of Webster, TX. 2 sons Bert Vernon Kretzschmar and his wife Myra of Collage Station, TX. and Kevin R. Kretzschmar and his wife Laura of Huntsville, TX. 11 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren.

A memorial mass will be celebrated 11:00 AM Friday December 21, 2012 at St. Thomas The Apostle Catholic Church - Huntsville, TX. with Father Fred Valone as Celebrant. In keeping with his wishes he will be cremated at Brooke Crematory. In lieu of flowers donation may be made to the St. Thomas Catholic Church 1623 16th Street Huntsville, TX. 77340, / The Pine Prairie Volunteer Fire Dpt. #3 Phil Wood Road, Huntsville, TX. 77320 or the New Ulm, TX. Mary Catherine Biscamp
(March 13, 1927 - December 19, 2012)

Mary Catherine Biscamp, a longtime resident of Groveton, Texas and the surrounding area Passed away December 19, 2012 in Lufkin, Texas. She was 85 years old. Mrs. Biscamp was born March 13, 1927 in Grants, NM to James and Audrey McGee who have both preceded her in death. She worked as the Dietitian for the Groveton Nursing Home and later served as the Director of the Groveton Senior Citizen Center for years prior to her retirement around 10 years ago. She was a member of the Jossarand Baptist Church just outside of Groveton.

She is survived by 2 sons; Harold E. Biscamp and his wife Ann of Crockett, TX. Earl W. Biscamp and his wife Brenda of New Waverly, TX. her Daughter; Patricia M. Smith and her husband Clifton E. of Apple Springs, TX. 1 Brother; Billy McGee and his wife Judy of Bryan, TX and a sister; Dorothy Haskins of Crockett, TX. 8 grandchildren and 8 Great Grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her husband; Dalton Biscamp and a son; Billy Edward Biscamp.

Visitation for Mrs. Biscamp will be held Thursday December 20, 2012 from 6-8 PM at The Brooke Funeral Home Chapel-672 FM 980 Huntsville, TX. Funeral services to celebrate her life will be conducted 2:00 PM Friday December 21, 2012 at the First Baptist Church - 126 Devine Street Groveton, TX. In keeping with her wishes she will be cremated following the services at Brooke Crematory.

Jacqulin "Jackie" Cash
(September 9, 1948 - December 21, 2012)

Jacqulin "Jackie" Cash of Huntsville, TX. passed away December 21, 2012 in a local hospital surrounded by her family. Mrs. Cash was born September 9, 1948 in Houston, Texas to Frank and Gertrude Simmons.

Mrs. Cash was one of those “characters” that you either loved or didn't. She spoke her mind and you always knew where she stood on a subject. Having a good argument was her hobby. Working in the restaurant and food industry all her life was rewarding for her family as she loved to take over the kitchen and cook, especially during the holidays, her favorite time of the year. She was a wonderful friend to many and would go to great lengths to help someone out. Another hobby of hers was to tease the children; they learned that this was her way of showing love. Harsh at times, showing her love for her family and grandchildren was unique, and it is that uniqueness in her that will be greatly missed.

She is survived by a son Carl Zeringue of Houston, TX. brother; Robert Gene Simmons of Houston, TX. Sister; Evelyn Darlene Blake and her husband Weldon of Huntsville. TX. and a Number of extended family members. Also surviving her are her Grandchildren Amy Zeringue, Jade Zeringue and Dakota Zeringue. She is preceded in death by a son Jerry Paul Zeringue and a sister Eva Jane Wedgeworth. Funeral Services to celebrate her life will be 4:00 PM Thursday December 27, 2012 at the Fish Hatchery Road Church of Christ with Wayne Blake Officiating. Visitation will start at 3:00 PM that same day prior to the funeral, also at the church. In keeping with her wishes she will be cremated at Brooke Crematory in Huntsville, TX following the funeral service.
