Larry L. Phariss
Larry L. Phariss, 75, of Jacksboro died Tuesday, June 26, 2007, in Jacksboro.
Funeral services were Saturday, June 30, at Live Oak Baptist Church with Pastor Craig Lile officiating.
Burial followed at Oakwood Cemetery.
Mr. Phariss was born Nov. 18, 1931, in Stephens County to the late Otis B. Sr. and Martha (Everette) Phariss.
He married the late Bertha Gladys Bayne July 11, 1953, in East Syracuse, N.Y.
He was a retired safety supervisor and a member of Live Oak Baptist Church.
He was also preceded in death by a grandson, Buddy Joe Fowler, and several brothers and sisters.
Survivors include two daughters, Laurie Hearn and husband Byron and Melissa Farris and husband Clinton, all of Jacksboro; three sons, Michael Phariss and wife Susan and Keith Phariss and wife Becky, all of Jacksboro, and Dennis Phariss and wife Mary Ann of Lolita; two brothers, O.B. Phariss Jr. and Robert Phariss, both of Haskell; 18 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

Hazel Johnson
Hazel Ella Johnson, 78, died Friday, June 15, 2007, in Perrin.
Funeral services will be at 10 a.m., Wednesday, June 20, at White’s Azle Funeral Home.
Burial will follow at Ash Creek Cemetery.
Visitation is from 6 to 8 p.m., Tuesday, June 19, at White’s Azle Funeral Home.
Mrs. Johnson was born in New Mexico to the late Thomas and Ora (Hardin) Smith.
She was a long-time resident of Azle.
She was a nurse and care-giver at Azle Manor and Harris Hospital NW.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Oscar “Sid” Johnson; two sisters; a brother; and a grandson.
Survivors include a son, Sidney Johnson and wife Gina of Nocona; two daughters, Carolyn Haskell and husband Terry of Perrin and Karen Johnson of Azle; nine grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and numerous friends and acquaintances.

Richard Glynn Gardner
Former Jacksboro resident Richard Glynn Gardner, 67, of Taylor died Tuesday, June 5, 2007, at his home in Taylor.
Graveside services were Friday, June 8, at Highland Cemetery in Iowa Park under the direction of Dutton Funeral Home.
Mr. Gardner was born on March 14, 1940, to Elvin J. and Catherine Agnes (Myers) Gardner.
He played football for the Tigers at Jacksboro High School, and attended the University of North Texas.
He rough-necked alongside his dad for many years in the oil fields of Jacksboro.
He married Teresa Gardner December 14, 1970, in McKinney.
He was preceded in death by his father, Elvin J. Gardner.
Survivors include his mother, Catherine Gardner of Jacksboro; his wife, Teresa Gardner of Taylor; two daughters, Gina Vrana and husband Raymond of Taylor and Gracia Gardner of Mexico City, Mexico; a granddaughter, Allison Vrana of Taylor; and a brother, Charles Gardner of Jacksboro.

Debbie Jo Cretsinger
Debbie Jo Cretsinger, 49, died Friday, June 15, 2007, at her home in Springtown.
A memorial service will be held Saturday, June 23, at the family residence.
Galbreaith Pickard Funeral Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
Ms. Cretsinger was born July 12, 1957, in Jacksboro to William Hall and Gayle Dian (Patrick) Cretsinger.
Survivors include a daughter, Jes Ingram and husband Calvin of Springtown; her mother, Gayle Dian Hill of Mineral Wells; a brother, Bill Cretsinger and wife Ruby of Lubbock; and two grandchildren, Jaxon and C.J. Ingram.

Clyde LeRoy Crowe
Former Jacksboro resident Clyde LeRoy Crowe, 96, of Wichita Falls was welcomed into the arms of his Heavenly Father on Father’s Day Sunday June 17, 2007.
Graveside services were Wednesday, June 20, at Winn Hill Cemetery with Jessie West and Pastor Laine Crowe officiating.
Arrangements were under the direction of Coker Funeral Home.
Clyde was born May 24, 1911, in Cleburne to the late Randolf Curtis and Laura Jane (Richardson) Crowe.
He married the late Zelma Laine Turner Feb. 5, 1932, in Walters, Okla.
He was a preacher and a member of Independent Baptist Church.
Clyde was a self-made man of many talents.
He loved fishing, cooking, canning jams and jellies, but most of all he loved spending time with his family.
He was also preceded in death by three sons, Richard Arlen- Glenn Orville and Gary Dale Crowe.
Survivors include a daughter, Sydney Sanders of Weatherford; a son, Laine Crowe and wife Janie of Wichita Falls; 10 grandchildren; and numerous great- and great-great grandchildren as well as nieces and nephews.

Bonnie Hadley
Bonnie Hadley, 48, died Thursday,June 21, 2007, at her home
in Post Oak following a fiveyear battle with breast cancer.
Funeral services were Saturday, June 23, at First Baptist Church of Jacksboro with Eugene Weldon officiating.
Graveside services and burial followed at Breckenridge Cemetery under the direction of Morehart Mortuary.
Bonnie Voniece Jones was born May 2, 1959, in Kermit to Elmer Lee and Wilma Ileda (Knight) Jones.
She graduated from Breckenridge High School in 1977 and moved to the Post Oak Community in 1981.
She was a member of the Cowboy Mission in Jacksboro.
Bonnie was preceded in death by her father, Elmer Lee Jones,
and a brother, Ronnie Jones.
Bonnie is survived by her mother, Ileda Jones of Breckenridge; the father of her children, Garland Hadley of Midland; a daughter, Nece Hadley and fiancé Robert Vasquez of Post Oak; a son, Tyson Hadley of Post Oak; a brother, Donnie Jones and wife Julie of Austin; and a granddaughter, Aubrianna Vasquez of Post Oak.
Memorials may be made to Solaris Hospice or the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation and may be sent to Morehart
Mortuary, 1101 W. Walker, Breckenridge, TX 76424.

Billy Carl Davis
Former Jacksboro resident Billy Carl Davis, 65, of Fort Worth died Monday, June 18, 2007, in Fort Worth.
Funeral services were Wednesday, June 20, at Coker Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. L.C. Smith officiating.
Burial followed at Lynn Creek Cemetery
Billy Carl was born Sept. 2, 1941, in Olney to the late W.B. “Bill” and Lula Mae “Lou” (Starr) Davis.
He was a member of Squaw Mountain Assembly of God.
He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Pastor Joe and Allie (Jackson) Starr, and his paternal grandparents, Jack and Laura Davis.
Survivors include his cousins, Carol Ann (Starr) Beavers and husband Johnny of Big Lake, Mary Jo (Starr) Chapman and husband Dan of Azle, Betty (Starr) Kirkpatrick of Cypress Mill, Sue (Starr) Smith and husband Donald of Horseshoe Bay, and Helen (Lovett) Aldrich and husband Bob of Wichita Falls; his special friend, Ron Parsley; and the staff of Manor Care Nursing Home in Fort Worth.

MARY LANGFORD
Dates:
Birth date: November 25, 1921
Death date: July 28, 2008
Mary Langford, age 86 of Breckenridge, died Monday, July 28, 2008 at her residence.
Funeral services will be at 10 a.m., Wednesday, July 30th, at Necessity Baptist Church with Rev. Charles West officiating.
Burial will follow in the Necessity Cemetery under the direction of Morehart Mortuary.
Visitation will be Tuesday evening, July 27th, from 6 to 7:30 p.m.
Mary Adell Elliott was born on November 25, 1921 in Graham, Texas to parents, Seth Albert Elliott and Clara Etta Gatcher Elliott.
She grew up in Graham and graduated from Graham High School.
She married Wayne Wignall and he later preceded her in death in 1955.
Later, Mary married G.E. “Red” Langford on June 3, 1956 in Abilene, Texas.
In 1988 the Langfords moved from Graham to Breckenridge.
Mary was a homemaker and a member of Necessity Baptist Church.
Mr. Langford preceded her in death in 1999.
Mary was also preceded in death by her parents, three brothers, Eddie Elliott, J.B. Elliott and James Elliott, two sisters, Mildred Hoffman and Ida Mae Orr and one son, Eddie Langford.
Mary is survived by one son, Greg Langford and wife, Peggy of Breckenridge; one brother, Cliff Elliott and wife, Vista of Graham; five grandchildren; thirteen great grandchildren; and three great-great grandchildren.
Memorials may be made to the charity of the donor’s choice and may be left at Morehart Mortuary.

AILEENE SHELTON

Death date: August 07, 2008
Aileene Shelton, age 60 of Breckenridge, died Thursday, August 7, 2008, at Cedar Crest Care Center.
A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m., Saturday, August 9th, at the Breckenridge Park Pavilion.
Services have been entrusted to Morehart Mortuary.
Sandra Aileene Shelton was born on June 4, 1948 in Breckenridge, Texas to parents, Jewel Riley Bishop and Frances Georgia Sullivan Bishop.
She grew up in Breckenridge and graduated from Breckenridge High School in 1966.
Aileene married Alan Preston Shelton on March 13, 1989 in Gatesville, Texas.
She worked as a Teacher’s Aide for the Gatesville Independent School District.
Later, she moved to Flatt, Texas and returned to Breckenridge in 2008.
While in Breckenridge she attended the New Life Restoration Church.
Aileene was preceded in death by her parents, husband, one sister, Norma Sue Woodrum and one son, Jesse Carl Gardnir.
Aileene is survived by two daughters, Sherrie Lynne “Missy” Pickering of Mesa, AZ and Willah Sue “Scooter” Heard of Gatesville; one brother, Harold Bishop of Breckenridge; one sister, Gail Bishop of Palestine; six grandchildren; one great grandchild; and many nephews, nieces and great friends.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society, Hendrick Hospice or the Sign Language Fund and may be left at Morehart Mortuary.
