Linda Y. Bobo
June 22, 1945 — March 26, 2003

Services for Linda Y. Bobo, 57, of Bryan will be at a later date.

Arrangements are under the direction of Callaway-Jones Funeral Home in Bryan.

Ms. Bobo died Wednesday in St. Joseph Regional Health Center.

She was born in Gary, Ind., and lived in Bryan since 2001. She was a retired nurse and was a member of the Gold Medallion Club at St. Joseph Regional Health Center.

Survivors include a son, Sean Jay Bobo of Kentucky; four daughters and two sons-in-law, Denice Bobo and Tracy Lynn Bobo, both of Bryan, Shawnna Jo and Mark Maly of Oklahoma and Christina and Victor Botello of College Station; seven grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

Patrick Edward Edmundson
March 27, 1937 — March 29, 2003

CALDWELL — Services for Patrick Edward Edmundson, 66, of Caldwell are set for 10 a.m. Tuesday at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Caldwell.

The Rev. Dimitrij Colankin will officiate. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

Visitation will be from 5 to 9 p.m. Monday at Phillips & Luckey Funeral Home in Caldwell.

A rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.

Mr. Edmundson died Saturday in Burleson/St. Joseph Health Center.

He was born in San Antonio and was a retired electrician. He served in the U.S. Navy and was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church. He held a 4th degree in the Knights of Columbus.

Survivors include his wife, Jean Edmundson of Caldwell; six sons and four daughters-in-law, Adrian and Kasey Edmundson of San Marcos, Damian Edmundson of The Woodlands, Christopher and Angie Edmundson of Arvada, Colo., Nathan and Veronica Edmundson and Kendall Edmundson, all of Caldwell, and Jonathan and Tammy Edmundson of Burleson; two daughters and a son-in-law, Michelle and Michael Reynolds of Caldwell and Christina McReynolds of Burleson; a brother and sister-in-law, Phillips and Beverly Edmundson of Salt Lake City; four sisters and a brother-in-law, Peggy Ferrier of Tulsa, Okla., Mary and Roger Caudill of Hanover, Kan., Susie McElroy and Kathy Roberts, both of Henderson, Nev.; 14 grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Memorials may be made to the Knights of Columbus or to the American Heart Association.

Patsy Ruth Manning
Feb. 25, 1931 — March 29, 2003

ROCKDALE — Services for Patsy Ruth Manning, 72, of Georgetown and formerly of Rockdale are set for 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Phillips & Luckey Funeral Home in Rockdale.

Bro. Bill Whaley of the Murray Street Church of Christ will officiate. Burial will be in Oak Lawn Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 5:30 to 9 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.

Mrs. Manning died Saturday at her home.

She was born in Luling and lived in Georgetown and Round Rock for 10 years. She formerly lived in Mount Pleasant and Rockdale. She was a member of the Church of Christ and was a homemaker.

She was preceded in death by her husband, John Carter Manning; and a son, Donald J. Manning.

Survivors include two sons, Johnny C. Manning of Palestine and Jackie L. Manning of Georgetown; two daughters, Mary E. Manning of Georgetown and Linda A. Manning of Mount Pleasant; two brothers, Buck Daughtry of Charlotte and Marcus Daughtry of Spring; four sisters, Ofie Mae Prichard of Houston, Molly Talbot of Buffalo, Janie Williams of Willis and Ginny Richards of Fairfield; eight grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

James B. Shepherd Jr.
Oct. 15, 1934 — March 27, 2003

Services for James B. Shepherd Jr., 68, of Bryan are set for 10:30 a.m. Monday at Memorial Funeral Chapel College Station.

Chaplain Les Riggs will officiate. Entombment will be at Msgr. Gleissner Mausoleum.

Mr. Shepherd died Thursday.

He was born in Galveston and graduated in 1957 from Texas A&M University, where he was a member of the Corps of Cadets. He was manager for Coastal States and operations manager for Clayton Williams Jr. Petroleum. He then became the president of Winchester Operating and vice president of Remington Resources. Mr. Shepherd was a member of the Society of Petroleum Engineers, Briarcrest Country Club, the American Quarter Horse Association and the Texas Thoroughbred Association.

Survivors include his wife, Marilyn Shepherd of Bryan; two sons and daughters-in-law, Trey and Adrienne Shepherd of Kingwood and James C. Jr. and Suzanne Cunningham of Milwaukee, Wis.; two daughters and sons-in-law, Kathy and Randy Reese of Pflugerville and Kelly and Marc Muehlemann of Flower Mound; and 12 grandchildren.

Memorials may be made to the Salvation Army.

Arnold Renner
1923-2003

Arnold Renner passed away on March 26, 2003 in Caldwell, Texas. He was born on May 16, 2003 in Beulah, N.D. He was a Cattleman and Horseman for many years. Mr. Renner’s body was donated to the Texas A&M University School of Anatomy for medical study.

Mr. Renner was preceded in death by his parents: Matthew Renner and Mary Koenig; two brothers: Raymond Renner and Paul Renner; a sister: Shirley Thomas. He is survived by his wife of 59 years, LaVerna M. Weigum Renner of Caldwell, Texas; two sons: Larry A. Renner and Monte L. Renner, both of Caldwell, Texas. A daughter: Eunice L. Mautz of St. Fransis, Wisconsin. Seven grandchildren: Penni Mautz Oelschlager, J.R. Mautz, Matthew B. Renner, William B. Renner, Kristen E. Renner, Jessica H. Renner, and Jodi L. Renner; three great-grandchildren: Elizabeth Oelschlager, Nicolas Oelschlager and Tyler W. Renner.

Margaret Edwina Collier Polanco
Jan. 14, 1923 — March 28, 2003

CALDWELL — Services for Margaret Edwina Collier Polanco, 80, of Caldwell are set for 10:30 a.m. Monday at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Texas City.

A memorial service was held Friday at Strickland Funeral Home in Caldwell.

Burial will be in Grace Memorial Park in Hitchcock.

Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday at Emken-Linton Mortuaries in Texas City.

A rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. Sunday at Emken-Linton Mortuaries.

Mrs. Polanco died Friday in Caldwell.

She was born in Colmesneil and was a homemaker. She was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Caldwell.

She was preceded in death by her husband, John Garate Polanco.

Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, John and Josie Polanco of Texas City; a daughter and son-in-law, Mary and Nathan Ausley of Caldwell; two sisters, Ruby Sexton of Jasper and Myrtle Reed of Madison, Tenn.; five grandchildren, John Polanco III, Paul Polanco, Michelle Polanco, Michael Ausley and Melissa Ausley; and a great-granddaughter, Natalie Polanco.

James B. Shepherd Jr.
1934 — 2003

James B. Shepherd Jr., 68, of Bryan passed away March 27, 2003. He was born in Galveston, TX, October 15, 1934 to James Sr. and Edna Allen Shepherd. Visitation will be 1-7 p.m. Sunday with family receiving friends from 5-7 p.m. at the funeral home. Funeral service will be 10:30 a.m. Monday at Memorial Funeral Chapel College Station with Chaplain Les Riggs officiating. Entombment will follow at Msgr. Gleissner Mausoleum. For those desiring, memorials may be made to the Salvation Army.

Douglas P. Anderson
Dec. 22, 1970 — March 27, 2003

Graveside services for Douglas P. Anderson, 32, of Bryan are set for 2 p.m. Sunday at the College Station Cemetery with military honors.

The Rev. Bill Davis of the Bryan Seventh-Day Adventist Church and Hospice Chaplain Cherry Moore will officiate.

Arrangements are under the direction of Callaway-Jones Funeral Home in Bryan.

Mr. Anderson died Thursday at his home.

He was born in Bell Flower, Calif., and graduated from JFK High School in Sacramento, Calif. He attended the U.S. Coast Guard Academy in New London, Conn., and was a Lieutenant Third Class in the U.S. Coast Guard. He was a marine biologist.

Survivors include his father and stepmother, David and Beth Anderson of Citrus Heights, Calif.; his mother and stepfather, Dotty Ann and Sonny Brown of Bryan; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Daniel James and Dara Anderson of Anderson, Calif., and Duane Eugene and Stefanie Anderson of Redding, Calif.; three stepbrothers and sisters-in-law, Michael James and Rene Brown, Russell and Stephanie Brown and Scott and Cody Brown, all of Bryan; his grandmother, Eloraine Hornbacher of Carlos; two uncles; two aunts; and a nephew.

Memorials may be made to Hospice Brazos Valley, 506 W. 26th Street, Bryan, Texas 77803.

Frances Buttermore
June 28, 1932 — March 29, 2003

ROCKDALE — Services for Frances Buttermore, 70, of Lexington are set for 3 p.m. Monday at the Phillips & Luckey Funeral Home in Rockdale.

Johnnie Menges will officiate. Burial will be in the Hugh Wilson Cemetery in Tanglewood.

Visitation will be from 5 to 9 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.

Mrs. Buttermore died Saturday at her home.

She was born in Hawkins and lived in Lexington five years. She formerly lived in Athens and was a restaurant owner.

Survivors include her husband, Jack L. Buttermore of Lexington; three daughters and sons-in-law, Mickie Lynn and Jim Archer of Fort Worth, Deborah Sue and Clifton Akin of Lexington and Tina Maria and Clay Tompkins of Athens; seven grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

Jose Gonzales Jr.
March 14, 1927 — March 28, 2003

HEARNE — Services for Jose Gonzales Jr., 76, of Hearne are set for 2 p.m. Monday at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Hearne.

The Rev. Scott Mikkleson of St. Mary’s Catholic Church will officiate. Burial will be in St. Jose Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Sunday at Heartfield Funeral Home in Hearne.

A rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.

Mr. Gonzales died Friday in St. Joseph Regional Health Center.

He was born in Mumford and lived in Hearne many years. He was a farmer and rancher and was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church.

He was preceded in death by his wife, “Cuca” Gonzales.

Survivors include two sons, Santos “T.C.” Gonzales of Hearne and Joe Gonzales III of Bryan; three daughters and two sons-in-law, Mary Tovias, Ana and George Melendez and Jo Ann and Jorge Lucio, all of Bryan; three brothers and sisters-in-law, Genaro and Juana Gonzales, Evaristo and Gloria Gonzales and Lupe and Helen Gonzales, all of Bryan; five sisters and three brothers-in-law, Anastacia and Larry Garcia of Bryan, Margarita Coronado and Dora Alvarado, both of Mumford, Alberta and Albert Garcia of Hearne and Petra and Bernardo Samaripas of Millican; seven grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
