Mildred ‘Millie’ V. Allison
Jan. 16, 1929 — Feb. 4, 2003

Graveside services for Mildred “Millie” V. Allison, 74, of College Station are set for 10 a.m. Thursday at College Station Cemetery.

The Rev. Glynn Ferguson will officiate.

Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Memorial Funeral Chapel in College Station.

Mrs. Allison died Tuesday at St. Joseph Regional Health Center.

She was born in Rosebud and lived most of her life in the Bryan-College Station area. She worked for Paul “Bear” Bryant and for W.C. Freeman as a secretary in the fiscal department at Texas A&M University.

She was preceded in death by her first husband, Votial Harvey Newton.

Survivors include her husband, Roy Allison of College Station; a son and daughter-in-law, Mason and Doris Newton of College Station; two daughters and sons-in-law, Linda and Joe Hernandez of Bryan and Janet and Don Allphin of Bellville; her twin sister, Marian “Bonnie” Creager of Brazos County; and another sister, Clara Winder of Bryan; six grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

Memorials may be made to Hospice of Brazos Valley.

Lula Mae Porch
May 13, 1913 — Feb. 2, 2003

NAVASOTA — Services for Lula Mae Porch, 89, of Navasota are set for 11 a.m. Thursday at Jones Funeral Home Chapel in Navasota.

The Rev. Perry Gamble of Bethel Grove Baptist Church in Cawthon will officiate. Burial will be in the Center Point Cemetery in Plantersville.

Visitation will be from noon to 9 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.

Ms. Porch died Sunday at Grimes St. Joseph.

She was born in Stoneham.

Survivors include two sisters, Iola Searcy of Bryan and Gertie Estell of San Antonio.

Alvin Walton Jr.
March 17, 1937 - Feb. 2, 2003

SEASIDE, Calif. — Services for Alvin Walton, Jr., 65, of Seaside are set for 10 a.m. Saturday at Monterey Full Gospel Church in Monterey, Calif.

Visitation will be from 5 to 9 p.m. Friday at Monterey Peninsula Mortuary.

Mr. Walton died Sunday.

He was born in Bryan and served in the U.S. Army for 35 years.

He was preceded in death by his wife, QuanJua Walton. Survivors include a son, Robert Lee Walton of Seaside; two daughters, Debra Walton Lockett of Bryan and Shirley Walton Perry of Marlin; ten brothers, W.T. Booker of Dallas, Linzy Walton of Colorado Springs, Colo., Willie Ray Jones, Jessie Walton, Robert Jones, Melvin Walton, William Walton, Milton Walton, Alton Walton and Terry Berringer, all of Bryan; eight sisters, Edna Earl Twitty of Albuquerque, N.M., Bobbie Robinson of Philadelphia, Pa., Janie Davenport of San Antonio, Mamie Ellis of College Station, Mary Walton Sims, Opal Seegars, Josephine Garrett, Janniful Walter and Gloria Walton Gooden, all of Bryan; six grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren and two aunts and two uncles.

Eric Dewayne ‘Cowboy’ Wilson
Nov. 19, 1970 - Feb. 4, 2003

LYONS — Services for Eric Dewayne “Cowboy” Wilson, 32, of Lyons are set for 11 a.m. Friday at County Line Missionary Baptist Church in County Line.

Rev. Travis McCorley will officiate. Burial will be in the County Line Cemetery.

Arrangements are under the direction of Branford Dawson Funeral Home in Temple.

Visitation will be two hours prior to service time on Friday at the church. Mr. Wilson died Tuesday in Bryan.

He was born in Washington County and lived in Lyons all of his life. He attended Somerville public schools and was a member of the County Line Missionary Baptist Church.

Survivors include his father, Ricky Wilson of College Station; his mother, Barbara Wilson of Lyons; a sister, Lakietra Wilson of Lyons; a grandmother, Texana Isom of Bryan; and a grandfather, Leon Brinston of Somerville.

Myrtle Lydia Hannah
Sept. 22, 1908 - Feb. 5, 2003

MADISONVILLE — Services for Myrtle Lydia Hannah, 94, of Madisonville and formerly of Normangee are set for 10 a.m. Friday at the Union Baptist Church.

Rev. Vernon Powell will officiate. Burial will be in the Ten Mile Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday at Madisonville Funeral Home. with the family present from 6 to 8 p.m.

Mrs. Hannah died Wednesday at St. Joseph Regional Health Center.

A lifelong resident of Madison County, she was a member of the Union Baptist Church, where she played the piano for many years. She was a notary public for a number of years and was a member of the Normangee Chapter No. 87 of the Order of Eastern Star.

She was preceded in death by her husband, James W. Hannah.

Survivors include numerous nieces and nephews.

R.F. Boyd
April 29, 1920 - Feb. 3, 2003

BOONVILLE, Ark. — Services for R.F. Boyd, 82, of Boonville and formerly of the Russell community in Leon County are set for 2 p.m. Saturday at North Creek Baptist Church in Centerville.

Rev. Bill Thompson of the North Creek Baptist Church will officiate. Burial will be in the North Creek Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Friday, with the family present from 6 to 8 p.m., and from 8 a.m. to noon Saturday at Buffalo Funeral Home.

Mr. Boyd died Monday.

He was born in Stoneburg, moved to Buffalo in 1977 and later moved to Arkansas. He served in the U.S. Marine Corps during World War II and in the U.S. Army. He worked as a self-employed carpenter for many years and was a member of the North Creek Baptist Church.

Survivors include his wife, Madelyn Elizabeth Boykin Boyd of Boonville, Ark.; three sons and daughters-in-law, James Arthur and Rosaline Boyd of Centerville, Don Franklin and Judy Boyd of Buffalo and John Morgan and Vickie Boyd Sr. of Buffalo; a daughter and son-in-law, Darlene and Jerry Fuller of Boonville, Ark.; a brother and sister-in-law, Arthur L. and Nell Boyd of Tennessee; two sisters, Juanita Klineman of Boyd and Emma Lee and Al Jennings of Enid, Okla.; 16 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Arkansas Department of Health-Hospice, 1708 West “C” Place, Russellville, Ark. 72801, or to a hospice of choice.

Ray Rosier
June 30, 1918 — Feb. 5, 2003

DALHART — A funeral mass for Ray Rosier, 84, of Dalhart is set for 10:30 a.m. Friday at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church in Dalhart.

Burial will be in the Memorial Park Cemetery.

Arrangements are under the direction of Horizon Funeral Home in Dalhart.

Mr. Rosier died Wednesday in Dumas.

He was born in Alvin and went to school in Edge before joining the Civil Conservation Corps. Mr. Rosier served in the U.S. Army and was a police officer for Texas A&M University for 35 years before retiring as a sergeant in 1981.

Survivors include his wife, Stazie (Vicenik) Rosier of Dalhart; a daughter and son-in-law, Vivian and Joe Culbertson Jr. of Amistad, N.M.; two brothers, Glenn Rosier of Woodville and Sigal Rosier of Bryan; two sisters, Amy Kurten of Kurten and Makie Mitchell of Bryan; two granddaughters; and four great-grandchildren.

Herbert Leo Mason
Nov. 13, 1920 — Feb. 4, 2003

Services for Herbert Leo Mason, 82, of College Station are set for 10:30 a.m. Monday at Scottish Rite Masonic Center in Wichita, Kansas.

Burial will be in El Dorado, Kansas. A memorial service will be held locally at a later date.

Local arrangements are under the direction of Hillier Funeral Home in Bryan.

Mr. Mason died Tuesday in Bryan.

He was born in El Dorado and served in the U.S. Marines and Navy.

Mr. Mason was a Shriner and a member of the Albert Pike Lodge of Wichita, the American Legion and VFW and an affiliate of Sul Ross Lodge No. 1300 in Bryan. He was a Methodist and Episcopalian.

Survivors include his wife, Margaret Susan Neill Mason of College Station; two sons, Terry Lee Mason of Houston and Michael Cranston of Wichita; two daughters, Karen Mason of Bellville and Renae Bolton of College Station; three brothers, Leslie Mason of El Dorado, Daniel Mason of Tavares, Fla., and Robert Mason of Atlanta; a sister, Pearl Richardson of El Dorado; nine grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

Memorials may be made to the Midian Shrine Plane of Mercy in Wichita Falls, Kansas.

Robert ‘Waco’ Wright
Sept. 11, 1923 — Feb. 5, 2003

NORMANGEE — Services for Robert “Waco” Wright, 79, of Normangee are set for 10 a.m. Saturday at United Methodist Church in Normangee.

Burial will be in the Woodlawn Garden of Memories in Houston at 3 p.m.

Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at Cozart Funeral Home in Normangee.

Mr. Wright died Wednesday at his home.

He was born in Fairy and lived in Normangee since 1986. He was retired from the Exxon pipeline and was a member of Normangee United Methodist Church.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Sarah Wright.

Survivors include a daughter, Elaine Wright of Normangee; two brothers, M.L. Wright of Waco and C.B. Wright of Onalaska; two sisters, Mattie Vana of Waco and Cora Allen of Onalaska; and one granddaughter.

Memorials may be made to the Brazos Valley Hospice and Normangee United Methodist Church.
