Susan Duhan Taylor

Born July 7, 1971, in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania to parents Ron and Mary Ann, Susan Duhan Taylor or “Suez” to her family and friends, moved to Texas with her parents and siblings in 1979. On March 23, 2005, Suez left us suddenly and tragically to be with our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. While we mourn the loss of a cherished daughter, a caring sister, a loving mother, a devoted companion, an adoring aunt and a true friend, we can rejoice and celebrate her life because even through it was short lived, Suez left behind an imprint on the hearts of those who knew her best — one that will sustain us until we see her again in our Father’s house.

For those of you that didn’t know Suez, she was one of those people that you wished you had met. Her quick wit, engaging smile, and infectious laugh left you smiling to yourself long after the story was told. Always the consummate professional while on the job; she was well respected by her peers. Suez was a compassionate person especially when it came to her family and friends. She was also an avid animal lover — hers, yours, or strays — it made no difference. Her love of elephants was evident by her endless collection and by her body art she so proudly displayed. Ford Mustangs and jewelry came in a close second and third. But if Suez were asked to name her greatest accomplishment in this life it would — without hesitation — be her son, Michael Anthony. Michael was everything to her.

Suez is survived by her son, Michael A. Jordan of Baytown; the love of her life, Clayte Wells of Baytown; their dog, Cole and car, Danny, her parents, Ron Duhan of Rockport and Mary Ann Smith of Pittsburgh, PA., her sister, Cheri Merritt (Michael) of Baytown, her brother, Don Duhan (Elizabeth) of Corpus Christi, her sister, Leah Godfrey of Port Arthur, her niece, Rachelle Merritt of Corpus Christi, her niece, Amanda Merritt of Houston, nephew, Stephen Godfrey of Friendswood, her great-nephew, Andrew Merritt of Houston, nephew, Christopher Merritt and his family all of Port Arthur, Christopher Mueller and his family, all of LaPorte, and her countless extended family and friends.

A Memorial Service is planned for Saturday, March 26, 2005 at The Harbour Church, 2143 Bay Plaza, Baytown, Texas, at 2:30 p.m.

“If you talk to the animals they will talk with you and you will know each other. If you do not talk to them you will not know them, and what you do not know you will fear. What one fears one destroys.” Arrangements are under the direction of LA Crespo Funeral Directors, 6123 Garth Road, Baytown, Texas. 281-839-0700.
