Franz Josef Kloesel

Franz Josef Kloesel, 93, went to be with his Lord on April 22, 2005. He was born July 30, 1911 in Mullins Prairie, Texas. He moved to Baytown in 1929 and retired from Exxon in 1973. He had been an active member of St. Joseph Catholic Church and a 4th Degree Knights of Columbus before his health prevented him from doing so. Franz was well known for his woodworking skills and bee keeping.

He is survived by his wife of 67 years, Agnes Hlanak Kloesel of Baytown; his daughters, Patricia Herrin and husband Charles Herrin of Houston, Texas, Cynthia Mullins of Baytown, Texas, Karen Stephens and husband Mark Stephens of Baytown; niece, Florence Schwalm and husband Robert Schwalm of Spring Creek, Nevada; grandchildren, Roxann Sebring and husband Gary Sebring of Houston, Rosann Behrens and husband Richard Behrens of Houston, Brian Mullins of Lake Charles Louisiana, Glen Stephens of Baytown, Keith Stephens of Baytown, Heather Martin and husband Brian Martin of Austin, Texas; great nephew Zachary Schwalm of Spring Creek, Nevada; great niece, Erin Schwalm of Lexington Park, Maryland; great grandchildren, Adam Quraishi and Steven Sebring of Houston.

The family will receive friends at Navarre Funeral Home Sunday from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. with a Rosary at 7:00 p.m. A Funeral Mass will be held Monday, April 25, 2005 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church with Father Dwight Canizares and Monsignor Arnold Anders, co-celebrant, officiating. Altar servers will be Glen and Keith Stephens. Burial will follow at Forest Park Lawndale Cemetery in Houston.

Serving as pallbearers will be his sons-in-law and grandsons.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Joseph Catholic School.

Arrangements are under the direction of Navarre Funeral Home, 2444 Rollingbrook Dr., 281-422-8111.

Lynn Hart

Lynn Hart entered into rest on April 21, 2005 surrounded by loving family members and friends at his residence in Highlands, TX. He was born on January 4, 1936 in Baytown, TX to the union of the late Jewell James & Ollie Mae Tate Hart.

Mr. Hart is preceded in death by his grandson, James Matthew Boyles; and brothers, J.C. Greenhaw and Aubrey Lynn Greenhaw. He leaves to cherish his memory his wife of 17 years, Jean Ann Smith Hart; children, Sandy Hart, Gay Knowles, Tracy Hart, Jan Pitman, Kelle Odom and Doug Wooster; grandchildren, B.J. Hart, Jason Grothe, Shannon Knowles, Kelsey Knowles, Matt Stubblefield, Dana Odom, Lori Odom, Melissa Wooster, Kim Wooster and Evan Wooster; great-granddaughters, Shaylee Richardson and Shyla Hart; brother, Willie Hart & wife Setsuko; sisters, Ginger Murray and Beth Hart Zerino; nieces, Masami Hagan, Sue Sanders, Jeanie Reeder and Crystal Hart; nephew, Jimmy Hart; and numerous extended family members and many friends.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, April 24, 2005 from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at San Jacinto Funeral Home. The Celebration of Life will be held Monday, April 25, 2005 in the funeral home chapel at 2:00 p.m. Rev. Galen Cooper will officiate. Burial will follow at San Jacinto Memorial Cemetery.

Lester Kenny Mendoza, 22 of Baytown, passed away Thursday, April 21, 2005 in a Houston hospital. Arrangements are pending with L.A. Crespo Funeral Directors, 6123 Garth Road, 281-839-0700

Donna Shields

Donna Shields, beloved wife, mother, daughter, sister, and friend, 54, of Baytown, TX was born October 5, 1950 in Princeton WV and passed away Tuesday, April 19, 2005 in a Houston, TX hospital.

She was a member of Trinity Episcopal Church, where she was an usher, former Sunday school teacher and director, a member of the Bishop Hines Guild and the Episcopal Church Women. She was an American Red Cross blood donor for more than 30 years, a Sterling Municipal Library Literacy Program tutor, and a Relay for Life Chairman at the Goose Creek C. I. S. D. Administration Building, where she was the secretary to the Director of Finance, Pete Cote’. She was also a member of the Baytown Educational Support Association, where she was in the Ways and Means office.

Her family will receive friends at Navarre Funeral Home Friday from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. A memorial service will be held Saturday, April 23, 2005 at 11:00 a.m. at the Trinity Episcopal Church with Rev. Nick Novak officiating. At her request, her body will be cremated and her cremains will be interred in West Virginia at a later date.

She was preceded in death by her father, Joe Calfee and is survived by her husband, Mike Shields of Baytown; sons and daughter-in-law, C. A. Shields of Baytown and Kent and Morgan Shields of Atlanta, GA; mother, June Calfee of Princeton, WV; brother, David Calfee of Boynton Beach, FL, and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

In lieu of usual remembrances, contributions may be made to the Trinity Episcopal Church Food Pantry Fund, 2701 W. Main, Baytown, TX 77520.

Teresa Urban Mosier

Teresa Urban Mosier, 51, Of Woodbridge, VA died on Monday, April 18, 2005 at Bethesda Naval Medical Hospital in Bethesda, Maryland.

Teresa retired with the rank of Commander from the United States Navy after 20 years of service. She was an active member of Saint Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church in Lake Ridge, Virginia and the Mother of Joy Charismatic Prayer Group at the church.

She was preceded in death by her father John Paul Urban Sr. She is survived by her husband Marty Mosier, and two children son Keith Mosier and daughter Shannon Mosier of Woodbridge, VA., mother Fern Urban of Baytown, brothers Buddy Urban and wife Donna of Fort Lauderdale, FL, Johnny Urban and wife Lisa of Baytown, TX and Michael Urban and wife Carolyn of Houston, TX and various nieces and nephews and special mother in law, Jean Mosier of Phoenix, AZ.

Viewing will be held at Navarre Funeral Home in Baytown, TX. Friday, April 22, 2005 from 6 to 8 PM with a rosary at 7PM. A funeral mass will be held at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church on Saturday, April 23, 2005 at 2PM with Rev. Dwight Canizares officiating. Burial will follow with military honors at White Cemetery in Highlands, TX.

Teresa graduated from R.E. Lee High School in 1972 and graduated from Sam Houston State University in 1976 with a degree in mathematics and minor in computer science. She joined the Navy in 1977 and went on to complete a Master of Science degree in Telecommunications Systems Management. While an officer in the Navy, Teresa held tours of duty in various locations including Hawaii, San Diego and Washington, D.C. Her responsibilities ranged from executive officer to working under the Secretary of Defense at the Pentagon.

Teresa loved her church and family and was an active volunteer in the fight against breast cancer. In lieu of flowers Teresa requested that donations may be made to the Avon Breast Cancer Foundation c/o Keith Mosier, 11989 San Ysidro Court, Woodbridge, VA 22192 or donate online at https://www.avonwalk.org/. Please specify participant # 911526. Keith will be walking in her memory April 30 - May 1, 2005.

Rachel Beatrice Rankin

Rachel Beatrice Rankin, 86, went to be with the Lord on April 20, 2005 after a long struggle with a Heart condition. She was a resident of Baytown for over 50 years and a member of Northside Baptist Church. She enjoyed making clothes for her family and friends.

Mrs. Rankin was preceded in death by her husband,

Willie Rankin; two sons, Willie Ray Rankin and Gary Glenn Rankin.

Surviving relatives are son and daughter-in-law, Dave and Rose Rankin of Pasadena, TX; Daughter and son-in-law, Clarie Lynn and Joe Williams of Georgetown, TX; three brothers, Jessie Shepard and wife Doris of Cleveland, TX., Harvey Shepard and wife Joyce of Cleveland, TX. and Kenneth Shepard and wife Joylee of Conroe, TX; two sisters, Madine Oquinn of Angleton, TX. and Marie Needham and husband Gordon of New Caney, TX; 12 Grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren and 15 great-great-grandchildren.

Family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. on Friday, April 22, 2005 at Earthman Funeral Home.

Funeral Service will be at 10 a.m. on Saturday, April 23, 2005 at Earthman Funeral Home Chapel with reverend Chuck Taylor officiating.

Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. on Saturday at Peebles Cemetery in Livingston, TX.

Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
