Esther Janko
Oct. 28, 1911 — Dec. 2, 2002

SOMERVILLE — Funeral services for Esther Janko, 91, of Somerville are set for 10 a.m. Saturday at Strickland Funeral Home Chapel in Somerville.

Rev. Cecil Lang Jr. will officiate. Burial will be in Oaklawn Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 8 a.m. until 9 p.m. Thursday and Friday, with the family present from 6 to 8 p.m. both evenings, and Saturday from 8:30 a.m. until the time of services at the funeral home.

Mrs. Janko died Monday.

She was a lifelong resident of Somerville and attended Somerville School. She was a longtime member of the First Presbyterian Church in Somerville.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Walter Janko.

Mrs. Janko is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Charlotte and Bill Neese of Round Rock; a sister, Lonie “Shortie” Humphries of Somerville; two grandchildren, two great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

Memorials made be made to the First Presbyterian Church of Somerville.

Felix D. McLemore Jr.
Aug. 14, 1933 — Dec. 3, 2002

Services for Felix D. McLemore Jr., 69, of Deanville are set for 2 p.m. Friday at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Deanville.

The Rev. Terry Bage will officiate. Burial will be in Caldwell Masonic Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 3 to 9 p.m. Thursday and from 7:30 a.m. until noon Friday at Phillips & Luckey Funeral Home.

Mr. McLemore died Tuesday at Burleson-St. Joseph Health Center in Caldwell.

He was a retired body shop supervisor for International Harvester of Houston. He was a U.S. Army veteran and a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church.

Survivors include his wife, Mildred Faust McLemore; a son, Robert McLemore of Houston; three daughters and sons-in-law, Jeanette and Ronald Shaver of Springfield, Va., Brenda and Jim Stovall of Sugar Land, and Susan and Billy Devries of College Station; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Charles and Vangie McLemore of Cedar Park, and Ted and Donna McLemore of Hutto; eight grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

Jennifer Danielle Perez
Oct. 10, 1995 — Dec. 1, 2002

Services for Jennifer Danielle Perez, 7, of College Station are set for 2 p.m. Friday at Central Baptist Church in Bryan.

The Revs. Tim Skaggs and Mike Wilkinson with Central Baptist Church will officiate. Burial will be in College Station City Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday with the family present the last three hours at Lindley-Robertson Funeral Home.

Jennifer died Sunday at Hermann Memorial Hospital in Houston after a car-train accident a day earlier.

She was born in College Station. She was a first-grader at South Knoll Elementary School, was active in gymnastics at Power Sports and enjoyed playing basketball.

Survivors include her parents, Susan Badeau Perez of College Station and Vincent Paul Perez of Bryan; her grandparents, Anita Badeau of Plantersville and Pete and Stephanie C. Lopez of Rockdale; and her great-grandparents, Clovis and Lillian Marcotte of Blackstone, Mass., and Teresa Lopez of Rockdale and Saimone P. Badeau of Bellingham, Mass.

Memorials may be made to Samaritan’s Purse, P.O. Box 3000, Boone, N.C., 28607.

Joshua Aaron Perez
Jan. 26, 1994 — Nov. 30, 2002

Services for Joshua Aaron Perez, 8, of College Station will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Central Baptist Church in Bryan.

Lopez of Rockdale; and his great-grandparents, Clovis and Lillian Marcotte of Blackstone, Mass., and Teresa Lopez of Rockdale and Saimone P. Badeau of Bellingham, Mass.

Isabel Moore Smith
Sept. 14, 1908 — Dec. 3, 2002

A memorial services for Isabel Moore, 94, of Bryan will be held later by the family.

Hillier Funeral Home is handling arrangements.

Mrs. Smith died Tuesday at Sherwood Healthcare Inc.

She was born in Charlestown, Ohio and was a homemaker. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Bryan.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Carl J. Smith.

Survivors include a son, Warren R. Smith of Ravenna, Ohio; two daughters and sons-in-law, Yvonne L. and Albert L. Glover Sr. of Tampa, Fla., and Kathleen M. and Charles C. Schroeppel of Bryan; two sisters, Kathleen Goodyear of Plant City, Fla., and Treva Moore of Plant City, Fla.; five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Memorials may be made to the Organ Fund of the First United Methodist Church, 506 E. 28th St., Bryan, Texas 77803.

Virgil Bryant Spence Jr.
Jan. 10, 1953 — Dec. 2, 2002

HEARNE —Funeral services for Virgil Bryant Spence Jr., 49, of Franklin are set for 2 p.m. Friday at First Baptist Church in Hearne.

The Rev. Larry Blackmon of First Baptist will officiate.

Burial will be in Norwood Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Heartfield Funeral Home.

Mr. Spence died Tuesday.

He was a lawyer in Hearne, a former city attorney for Hearne and Bremond and co-owner of Love Abstract Co. in Franklin. Mr. Spence was a member and past worshipful master of Golden Rule Masonic Lodge No. 361.

He is survived by his wife, Catherine Spence of Franklin; a son, Virgil Bryant Spence III of Franklin; two daughters, Candace Elizabeth Spence and Rebecca Noel Spence, both of Franklin; a sister and two brother-in-laws, Beverly and Mike Mathis of Belton and Gene Wilganowski Jr.; his father, Virgil Bryant Spence Jr. of Orange; and his mother and stepfather, Ruth and Herman Schoenemann of Carmine; and his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Gene and Monique Wilganowski of Franklin.

John Soto
May 12, 1924 — Dec. 4, 2002

NAVASOTA — Funeral services for John Soto, 78, of Huntsville are set for 10 a.m. Friday at Christ Our Light Catholic Church.

Paul Felix of Christ Our Light will officiate. Burial will be in Oakland Cemetery in Navasota.

Visitation will be from 1 to 5 p.m. Thursday at Nobles Funeral Home and from 6 to 8 p.m. at the church, with a vigil starting at 7:30 p.m.

Mr. Soto died Wednesday.

He was born in Foldger and was a retired wrecker operator and a Catholic.

He is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Jimmy and Norma Soto of Navasota; two daughters, Alicia Soto and Cecilia Dimas, both of Huntsville; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Lorenzo and Leonor Soto and Iviv and Mary Soto, all of Bryan; three sisters and two brothers-in-law, Mary and Pedro Garcia of Baytown, Juanita Diaz of Houston and Manuela and Butch Trujilo of Bryan; and four grandchildren.

Bernice Bundage
Jan. 24, 1922 — Dec. 1, 2002

NAVASOTA — Services for Bernice Bundage, 80, of Navasota are set for 11 a.m. Saturday at Jones Funeral Home.

The Rev. John Sanders will officiate. Burial will be Bethlehem Cemetery in Roans Prairie.

Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Friday at Jones Funeral Home.

Mrs. Bundage died Sunday at the Navasota Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.

She was born in Shiro. She was a housekeeper.

She was preceded in death by her husband, John Bundage, two daughters and a son.

Survivors include a son, Melvin Ross; a daughter, Debra Lattimore; three brothers; six sisters; 11 grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren.

Almentra ‘Ment’ Goff
Aug. 7, 1907 — Dec. 4, 2002

THORNDALE —Funeral services for Almentra “Ment” Goff, 95, of Thorndale are set for 10 a.m. Saturday at First Baptist Church in Thorndale.

The Rev. Larry Caldwell of Mt. Zion Baptist Church in Thorndale will officiate.

Burial will be in the I.O.O.F. Cemetery in Rockdale.

Visitation will be from 3 to 9 p.m. at Phillips & Luckey Funeral Home in Rockdale.

Mrs. Goff died Wednesday in San Antonio.

She was born in Waller County and lived in Thorndale for 32 years. She was a homemaker and belonged to Mt. Zion Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Porter Goff.

Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, James and Jo Ann Bradford of Rockdale; four daughters and a son-in-law, Dorothy Oglesby, Ella and William Allen, Lela Goff and Willie Keno, all of San Antonio; a brother, Ivory Canady of Houston; 13 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; and 12 great-great grandchildren.
