Mary Owen Walker
March 28, 1919 — Nov. 2, 2002

FRANKLIN — Services for Mary Owen Walker, 83, of Bryan are set for 1 p.m. Wednesday at the McCauley Funeral Home Chapel in Franklin.

Mike Curry of Bryan will officiate. Burial will be in Camp Creek Cemetery in Robertson County.

Visitation will be from noon to 8 p.m. Tuesday, with the family present from 5 to 8 p.m., at the funeral home.

Mrs. Walker died Saturday in St. Joseph Regional Health Center.

She was born in Wichita Falls and lived in Bryan for 10 years. She formerly lived in McQueeney and was a retired secretary-bookkeeper employed by the state of Texas. She was a member of Christ Way Baptist Church in Bryan.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Recil F. Walker.

Survivors include a daughter and son-in-law, Bunny and Henry Sims of Houston; a son and daughter-in-law, Gary and Teddi Walker of Camp Creek; five grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and a nephew.

James Edward Gordon
March 16, 1927 — Nov. 4, 2002

CENTERVILLE — Services for James Edward Gordon, 75, of Centerville are set for 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Walters Funeral Home Chapel in Centerville.

The Rev. Eddie Roberts of Huntington will officiate. Burial will be in the Brushy Cemetery near Buffalo.

Visitation will be from 1 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, with the family present from 6 to 8 p.m., and from 9 a.m. to the time of the services Wednesday at the funeral home.

Mr. Gordon died Monday at his home.

He was born in Buffalo and lived in Centerville for four years. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War and spent 32 years in the oil fields working as a driller and roughneck. He owned and operated a service station in Leona from 1965 to 1984 and later lived in Kennard for 13 years. He was a member of the Ratcliff Baptist Church and was a member of the church quartet.

He was preceded in death by a son, James Michael Gordon.

Survivors include his wife, LaVerne Gordon of Centerville; a son, Gerald Dwayne Gordon of Big Sandy; four daughters and sons-in-law, Kathy and Jackie French of Teague, Glenda and Eddie Plummer of Mexia, Debra and Donny Rogers of Corsicana and Rita and Ricky Conklin of Centerville; two sisters and a brother-in-law, Doris and James Lawson of Mullins, and Anna May Neal of Buffalo; nine grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

Daniel J. Tubbs
Jan. 1, 1943 — Nov. 3, 2002

Services for Daniel J. Tubbs, 59, of Bryan are set for noon Wednesday at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church in Bryan.

The Rev. Kirby Garner of St. Anthony’s Catholic Church will officiate. Burial will be in Mount Calvary Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Memorial Funeral Chapel in Bryan.

A rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.

Mr. Tubbs died Sunday at his home.

He was born in Taylor and lived in Bryan most of his life. He was retired from GTE and was a member of St. Anthony’s Catholic Church. He served in the U.S. Army Reserves.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Angela Stratta Tubbs.

Survivors include a son, Ricky Tubbs of College Station; a daughter and son-in-law, Lisa and Louis Marino of Bryan; two brothers and a sister-in-law, Walter Tubbs Jr. and Stanley and Mitzi Tubbs, all of Bryan; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Frances and Carroll Wood and Nancy and James McDaniel, all of Bryan; his mother, Mary Ann Tubbs of Bryan; and two grandsons.

Memorials may be made to the American Diabetes Association or the St. Anthony Catholic Church Building Fund.

Rowena Wilson
Nov. 6, 1904 — Nov. 4, 2002

WACO — Interment for Rowena Wilson, age 97, of Waco will be held at a later date at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery in San Antonio.

Arrangements are under the direction of Wilkirson-Hatch-Bailey Funeral Home in Waco.

Mrs. Wilson died Monday at a nursing home in Waco.

She was born in Hillsboro and attended school in Waxahachie and Henrietta. She was a bank teller at the Itasca Bank. Mrs. Wilson moved to Waco in 1969. She was a Methodist and sang in the Baylor University Senior Adult Choir.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Cecil Wilson.

Survivors include a daughter, Rowena June Baldwin; a son, Ronald Cecil Wilson; a sister, Frances Baker; seven grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

Patricia Sue Smith
Dec. 6, 1946 — Nov. 4, 2002

Patricia Sue Smith, 55, of Bryan died Monday. A private service is scheduled for a later date.  Mrs. Smith was born in Martin County, Ky. She had lived in Bryan for the past 20 years and was a homemaker. Survivors include her husband, James Smith of Bryan; three daughters and two sons-in-law, Lisa and Ronny Munsey of Bryan, Tammy Lang of Ocoee, Fla., and Heather and Jimmy Colford of Bryan; three sons and a daughter-in-law, Basil Cole Jr., Vince and Sissy Cole and Chris Cole, all of Crestview, Fla.; her mother, Virginia Crisp of Ocoee, Fla.; numerous brothers and sisters; three grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Patricia Sue Smith Fund, P.O. Box 492, Bryan, 77806.

Isaac Linebaugh
Feb. 4, 1932 — Nov. 4, 2002

Ila Faye Linebaugh
March 26, 1942 — Nov. 3, 2002

ZAVALLA — Memorial services for Isaac Linebaugh, 70, and Ila Faye Linebaugh, 60, of Zavalla, are set for 2 p.m. Friday at Callaway-Jones Chapel in Bryan.

Mrs. Linebaugh died Sunday in Houston.

She was born in Bryan.

Mr. Linebaugh died Monday in Franklin.

He was born in Clark, Mo.

Mr. Linebaugh worked in power line construction and Mrs. Linebaugh was a homemaker. They had resided in Zavalla for the past 24 years after moving from Bryan in 1978.

Survivors include their two sons and daughters-in-law, Ivan Wayne and Trish Linebaugh of Madisonville and Sterling Roman and JoAnn Linebaugh of Zavalla; two daughters and sons-in-law, June and Grady Russell of Hearne and Tina and Steve Gustavus of Benchley; 14 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

Mr. Linebaugh is survived by a brother, Robert Linebaugh of Mesquite, and a sister, Leatha Linebaugh of Brookfield, Mo.

Memorials may be made to the M.D. Anderson Hospital, 1515 Holcombe Blvd., Houston, Texas 77030.

James Lloyd Weber
Nov. 15, 1924 — Nov. 4, 2002

CALDWELL — Graveside services for James Lloyd Weber, 77, of Caldwell are set for 10 a.m. Thursday at Caldwell Masonic Cemetery.

The Rev. Henry Beseda will officiate. Military honors will be under the auspices of VFW Post No. 4458.

Arrangements are under the direction of Phillips & Luckey Funeral Home in Caldwell.

Mr. Weber died Monday at Sherwood Health Care in Bryan.

He was born in Caldwell and was a retired owner and operator of Weber’s Garage in Caldwell. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II and a Baptist.

Survivors include his wife, Lenora “Lee” Weber of Caldwell; two daughters and sons-in-law, Violet and Carl Turner of Caldwell and Janet and Wally Namken of Bastrop; a brother, John Weber of College Station; four grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Robert William Sehlke
Aug. 24, 1960 — Nov. 5, 2002

BRENHAM — Services for Robert William Sehlke, 42, of Brenham are set for 2 p.m. Friday at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Rehburg.

The Rev. Larry Henrichs will officiate. Burial will be in the St. Paul Lutheran Church Cemetery in Rehburg.

Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Memorial Oaks Chapel in Brenham.

Mr. Sehlke died Tuesday in Brenham. He was born in Brenham, attended League City schools and was a member of the St. Paul Lutheran Church in Rehburg.

Survivors include his parents, Edward W. and Ruby Sehlke of Brenham; a grandmother, Isabel Sehlke of Brenham; and several aunts and uncles.

Memorials may be made to the St. Paul Lutheran Church of Rehburg or the Muscular Dystrophy Foundation.

Matthew Hailey
Nov. 5, 2002 — Nov. 5, 2002

LUFKIN — Private graveside services for newborn infant Matthew Hailey of Lufkin are set for Friday in the Garden of Memories Memorial Park in Lufkin.

Dr. Nolan Duck will officiate.

Arrangements are under the direction of Gipson-Metcalf Funeral Directors of Lufkin.

Matthew Hailey was born and died Tuesday at a Lufkin Hospital.

Survivors include his parents, Mark and Monica Hailey of Lufkin; two sisters, Melissa and Annie Hailey of Lufkin; grandparents, Buford and Melissa Abeldt of Lufkin and Robert and Laura Hailey of Franklin; and great-grandparents the Rev. J.V. and Dorothy Patterson of Lufkin, Marie Linder of Waco, and Lester and Pat Hailey of Franklin.
