Mr. Minick spent his early years with his parents, Rupert and Maude Minick, and his two older sisters, Dene and Freta.

With his wife of 51 years, Rev. Fredda Minick, Bill owned a recreational vehicle business in Beaumont, where they raised their family of three sons and one daughter. They later served the United Methodist Church as missionaries at the Red Bird Missionary Conference in Kentucky. Following that experience Bill worked as a wood craftsman in his shop in Countrywood near Beaumont. United Methodists in Chireno, Sour Lake, Saratoga, Bullard and Wildwood-Village Mills were blessed by Bill’s presence among them, while Fredda served as their pastor. She currently serves in the Cabinet of the Texas Conference as the Superintendent of the Bryan District. Bill was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Bryan.

Bill loved the natural wonders of God’s world, was gifted with an unusual “reverence for wood” and loved the way it took shape in his craftsman’s hands. A very private man of few words, Bill was drawn to the poor and hurting people of the world. He took great delight in fishing and family. Memories and stories of his life will continue to live in his survivors, who include children: Stephen and Laurie Minick of Georgetown, Texas, Robert and Lynda Minick of Sour Lake, Michael Minick of Angel Fire, New Mexico, and Susan and Archie Seward of Plano, Texas; grandchildren: Rebecca, Sarah, Rachel, Amanda, Matthew, Michael Jr., Lloyd, Naomi and Paula Minick and Christopher and Brendon Seward.
