Susan McGrath

Nov. 4, 1938 — Feb. 26, 2002

Graveside services for Susan McGrath, 63, of College Station are set for 1 p.m. Friday at Whitney Memorial Park in Whitney, Texas. The Rev. Butch Smith of Living Hope Baptist Church will officiate.

Local Arrangements are under the direction of Hillier Funeral Home in Bryan.

Ms. McGrath died Tuesday at St. Joseph Regional Health Center.

She lived in College Station since 1999. She was a retired office manager.

Survivors include three sons and daughters-in-law, W. Brian and Sara Miller of Bryan, Stephen and Candy Miller of Plano and Ted Miller of San Diego; two sisters, Emmaline Williams of Houston and Caroline Taha of Dallas; and six grandchildren.

Isabel Stow

Jan. 31, 1918 — Feb. 26, 2002

LEXINGTON — Services for Isabel Stow, 84, of Lexington are set for 2 p.m. Friday at the Lexington Faith Temple Church in Lexington. Burial will be in the Lexington Cemetery. The Rev. Jim Moore will officiate.

Visitation will be from 4 to 9 p.m. Thursday at Phillips & Luckey Funeral Home in Rockdale.

Mrs. Stow died Tuesday at Richards Memorial Hospital in Rockdale.

She was a lifetime resident of Lexington.

Mrs. Stow was a homemaker and a member of Lexington Faith Temple.

She was preceded in death by her husband, R.T. Stow.

Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Robert and Sharon Stow of Lexington; two daughters and sons-in-law, Linda and Jimmy Price of Greenville, Texas, and Glenda and Jimmie Clopton of Lexington; three grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

Memorials may be made to the Lexington Faith Temple or the Lexington E.M.S.

Helen Jamison Barnes

Nov. 17, 1911 — Feb. 27, 2002

CAMERON — Services for Helen Jamison Barnes, 90, of the Jones Prairie community are set for 2 p.m. Friday at Little River Baptist near Cameron. The Rev. Carl Hudson will officiate. Burial will be in the Little River Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday at Green-Patterson Funeral Home in Cameron.

Mrs. Barnes died Wednesday in a Cameron hospital.

She was born in Cheapside, Texas, and lived in the Brazosport community from 1941 to 1961. She was a longtime member of the Little River Baptist Church and was a homemaker.

She was preceded in death by her first husband, Hope Jamison Sr., and her second husband, the Rev. Norvell Barnes.

Survivors include a son, Hope Jamison Jr. of Jones Prairie; two grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

Memorials may be made to the Little River Baptist Church New Building Fund.

Ruth Ellen Kreiling

April 27, 1920 — Feb. 27, 2002

ROCKDALE — A memorial service for Ruth Ellen Kreiling, 81, of Rockdale is set for 2 p.m. Saturday at Phillips & Luckey Funeral Home in Rockdale.

Mrs. Kreiling died Wednesday in the Richards Memorial Hospital in Rockdale.

She was born in Harlan County, Ky. She was a cashier in a grocery store.

Mrs. Kreiling was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Robert Kreiling.

Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Ruford Elden and Billie Kreiling of Lexington, Texas; a son-in-law, Richard Lee Price of Dayton, Ohio; a daughter and son-in-law, Dorene Sue and James Willis of Austin; 13 grandchildren; and 32 great-grandchildren.

Ruby Jewell Campbell Burt

May 25, 1915 — Feb. 27, 2002

MARSHALL, Texas — Graveside services for Ruby Jewell Campbell Burt, 86, of Marshall are set for 2 p.m. Friday at Mount Tabor Cemetery in Madisonville. Dr. John White will officiate.

Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at The Sullivan Funeral Home in Marshall.

Mrs. Burt died Wednesday at the Merritt Plaza Nursing Home in Marshall.

She was born in Madisonville and attended Madisonville public schools. Mrs. Burt was a homemaker and former sales clerk for F.W. Woolworth in Marshall. She was a member of the Central Baptist Church of Marshall, member and former president of Woodmen of the World and a member of the Golden Harvest Rebekah Lodge #197. She served as past grand matriarch and had received the decoration of chivalry, the highest honor for the Rebekah Auxilary. She was a former member and past president of the Home Demonstration Club of Harrison County.

She was preceded in death by her husband, the Rev. James Orville Burt.

Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Jean and Darlene Burt of Marshall; a daughter and son-in-law, Nancy and Wayne Harris of Marshall; two sisters, Eunice Matthews of Crockett and Willie Mae Dwyer of Lumberton, Texas; three grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Ambrosio Bernal Sr.

March 6, 1916 — Feb. 26, 2002

Services for Ambrosio Bernal Sr., 85, of Bryan are set for 11 a.m. Friday at Templo Buenas Nuevas Assembly of God. The Rev. Ruben Menchaca will officiate. Burial will be in the Bryan City Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday with a prayer service at 7 p.m. at Hillier Funeral Home.

Mr. Bernal died Tuesday at College Station Medical Center.

He was born in Rosebud and was a retired food service supervisor at Texas A&M University. He was a member of the Templo Buenas Nuevas Assembly of God.

Survivors include his wife, Louise Bernal of College Station; a son and daughter-in-law, Ambrosio Jr. and Irma Bernal of College Station; a brother and sister-in-law, Joe and Carmen Bernal of Dallas; a sister, Lala Castillo of Bryan; three grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

Evelyn Todd

June 19, 1922 — Feb. 27, 2002

LEXINGTON, Texas — Services for Evelyn Todd, 79, of Lexington are set for 10 a.m. Friday at the Lexington United Methodist Church. Burial will be in the Lexington Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. Thursday at Phillips & Luckey Funeral Home in Rockdale.

Mrs. Todd died Wednesday in the Fayette County Memorial Hospital in La Grange.

She was a lifelong resident of Lexington, and was a graduate of Lexington High School. She was an activity director at the Boswell Nursing Home in Rockdale and drove the bus for senior citizens in Lexington.

Mrs. Todd was a member of the Lexington United Methodist Church and Lexington Eastern Star Lodge #138.

She was preceded in death by her husband, H.E. Harold Todd.

Survivors include two sons and daughters-in-law, Larry E. and Linda Todd of Mansfield, Texas, and Terry Dale and Johanna Todd of Lexington; five grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

Raymond William Booker

April 21, 1913 — Feb. 27, 2002

FRANKLIN — Services for Raymond William Booker, 88, of Franklin are set for 3 p.m. Saturday at McCauley Funeral Home Chapel in Franklin. Bobby Johnson of Ridge will officiate. Burial will be in the Mount Pleasant Cemetery near Franklin.

Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday and from 9 a.m. to service time Saturday at the funeral home.

Mr. Booker died Wednesday at St. Joseph Regional Health Center in Bryan.

He was born in Weatherford, Texas, and attended Weatherford schools. He was a self-employed heavy equipment operator. He moved from Weatherford to Franklin, where he lived since 1960. He was of the Baptist faith.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Kitty Zell Booker.

Survivors include a daughter and son-in-law, Betty Zane and Owen Scrimshire of Franklin; a son and daughter-in-law, Kenneth Ray and Beverly Jean Thomas of Weatherford; a sister, Marjorie Florence Barton of North Augusta, S.C.; eight grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.
