She attended Baytown public schools and the Baytown Opportunity Center. She was a member of First Christian Church.

She is survived by her parents, Delton and Gladys Goodin; sister Lu Ann Bishop; brothers, Jeff Goodin and wife Sarah, Mark Goodin and wife Loretta; nieces, Jill Bransford, Erica Goodin, Felicia Goodin, Jennifer Goodin, Brooke Goodin; nephews, Alex Bransford, Ricky Hadley and wife Brandy, David Hadley and wife Brandy; great nephew, Caleb Thomas Goodin; and special friend, Dean Donahoo.

W. D. “Jack” Campbell

W. D. “Jack” Campbell, 103, of Fischer, TX, formerly Baytown was born March 13, 1903 in Kirbyville and passed away Saturday, June 3, 2006 in a New Braunfels hospital. He was retired from Exxon and was a member of the Exxon Annuitants and 1st Baptist Church. He was a member of the Goose Creek Masonic Lodge #1192, Baytown Shrine Club, Arabia Temple, and 32nd Degree Scottish Rite.

Clara May Doskocil

Clara May Doskocil, 93, of Crosby, passed away Tuesday, June 6, 2006. She was born on May 10, 1913 in Cedar Bayou, Texas

Clara is survived by her son Ben Doskocil Jr. and wife Yvonne of Highlands, Texas; her daughter Faye Rosenfield and husband Charles of Dobbin, Texas; 5 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.

Betty Jo Silverstein

Betty Jo Silverstein, 53, of Deer Park, TX, formerly Baytown, was born September 2, 1952 in Corpus Christi and passed away at her home Sunday, June 4, 2006. She was a graduate of Robert E. Lee High School and loved cats, dolphins, butterflies, and playing on her computer.

A memorial service will be held Friday, June 9, 2006 at 11:00 a.m. at Living Hope Church of God, 7611 N Hwy 146, Baytown, TX 77520 with Rev. Kevin Kleinhenz officiating. At her request, her body was cremated.

Charles A "Bill" Riley

CHARLES A. “BILL” RILEY, 86, a resident of Bayside, Texas, since 1983, died Friday, June 2, 2006 at his home in Bayside. He was born September 20, 1919, in Refugio, Texas to William A. & Murty M. Riley. He served in the U.S. Navy during WWII and was employed by Humble/Esso/Exxon for over 35 years. He was also a licensed Locksmith and a certified electronic technician. He was a member of Church of Christ and a life member of the Refugio VFW.

Gene Brasher

Milton Eugene “Gene” Brasher, 79, of Baytown, passed away Sunday, August 13, 2006. He was born January 12, 1927 in Mosheim, Texas to Arthur and Opal Brasher. He served proudly in the United States Navy and was a Mason.

Milton is survived by his wife Lucetta Lee Brasher; son Al Brasher and wife Yvonne, daughter Cindy Harris, daughter Lanell Smesny and husband Mickey, son Tommy Herron, daughter Tammy Burton and husband Tim, and son Jesse Horton; sisters Maudene Marth and husband Bill, and Evelyn Crawford; sister-in-law Lovella Desormeaux; and grandchildren Stephen Brasher, Lance Buck, Joy Nierode, Meredith Feng, Daryl Starr, Trent Grothe, Ricky Morris, Paige Burton, Jesse Horton Jr., and Dixie Horton.

Ray Broussard

Ray Albert Broussard, 73, lifelong resident of Baytown, passed away Sunday August 13, 2006, after a brief battle with cancer. He was born April 24, 1933 in Goose Creek, Texas.

He served his country in the U.S. Navy aboard the USS Iowa during the Korean War from 1952-1955. He retired as a draftsman from GTE after 35 years. He was a member of First Baptist Church. He enjoyed spending time with his family, also hunting, traveling, and sharing his cooking talents with everyone.

Shannon Frazier

Shannon Marie Frazier passed away Saturday morning, August 12, 2006, at her home. She was born June 8, 1976, in Baytown, Texas to Ken and Kathy (Wait) Frazier. Shannon was a member of Second Baptist Church and a para professional at B. P. Hopper in Highlands. She enjoyed scrapbooking, hanging out with friends, card games, and spending time with her special education children. She was a devoted daughter and a treasured friend to many. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.

Beryl Barbara Warfle Mitchell

It is with deep regret and sadness that Kaitlyn M. Louviere announces the passing of her best friend and “Dranny” Beryl Barbara Warfle Mitchell, 73, of Highlands, Texas.

Ms. Mitchell was preceded in death by her parents, Mulford, J. Warfle and Marion A. Tonden; and son, Renford William Stanfill, Jr.

She leaves behind her loving family that includes her 7 children; son, Wm.(Bill) Stanfill and wife Janice of Moorehead, OK; daughter, Marion S. Mitchell of Highlands, TX; daughter, Laurie Johnson and husband Chuck of Troy, AL; daughter, Beryl Tippins and husband Greg of Crosby, TX; daughter, Lenora Palacios and husband Ricky of Highlands, TX; son, James Mitchell, III and wife Tammy of Ozark, AL; and daughter, Glenda M. Zeigler and husband Matt of Prattville, AL.; 18 grand-children and 12 great grand-children; her 3 best friends, Sandra, Minnie and Marie all of Highlands, TX; many nieces, nephews other relatives and friends.

Former Baytown resident Don Gordon Snyder passed away on Friday, August 11, 2006 in League City, Texas after a long illness. He was 69 years old. He was born on March 26, 1937 in Seymour, Texas to Carl and Sarah Jane Snyder. He was a 1955 graduate of Seymour High School and a 1975 graduate of Lee College in Baytown, Texas.

J.C. Bevers 1914-2006

James Canter "J.C." Bevers, age 92, formerly of Baytown, passed away Friday, August 11, 2006 at the Silverado Senior Living Facility in Houston. J.C. Bevers was born June 24, 1914 in Sour Lake, Texas to Samuel Edgar Bevers and John Reagan Canter Bevers.

J.C. was in the Texas A&M Class of 1936, a member of the Association of Former Students and the 12th. Man Foundation. He was a member of the Goose Creek and Wimberly Masonic Lodges and a member of Edge Baptist Church. J.C retired from Humble Oil in Baytown, Texas.

Debby L. McCartney, 48, went to be with her Lord Friday, August 11, 2006, in Baytown, TX. A resident of Mt. Belvieu, TX., since 1980, Debby was a member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church. She enjoyed her family, camping, traveling, playing board games and her grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her father, John Wallace. She is survived by her husband of nine years, Ricky McCartney of Mt. Belvieu, TX.; three sons and one daughter-in-law, Chris and Serena Cernosek, Austin, TX., Jason Cernosek, Mt. Belvieu, TX., and Nathan Cernosek, Mt. Belvieu, TX.; three stepsons and two daughters-in-law, Rickywayne McCartney, Alaska, Joshua and Tara McCartney, Baton Rouge, LA., and Bryan and Misty McCartney, Humble, TX.; her mother, Georgia Wallace, Victoria, TX.; two sisters, Patty Scevers, Victoria, TX., Teri Austin, Port Lavaca, TX.; one brother and sister-in-law, John Wallace, Jr., and Nancy, Victoria, TX.; two grandchildren, Susan Olivia McCartney, Baton Rouge, LA., and Lynlee Marie McCartney, Humble, TX. The family will receive friends Sunday, August 13, 2006, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Earthman Funeral Home, 3919 Garth Road, Baytown, TX. A rosary will be recited at 7:00 p.m., Deacon Gene Leblanc officiating. The funeral mass will be held at 2:00 pm. Monday, August 14, 2006, at Holy Trinity Catholic Church, 3515 Trinity Drive off FM 3180, Mt. Belvieu, TX., with Rev. Andy Moore officiating. Interment will follow at Memory Gardens Cemetery, 8624 Garth Road, Baytown, TX. Serving as pallbearers will be Byron Smith, Scott Ickes, Adam Cryer, Justin Meadors, Casey Hornberger, Robin Roberts, David Huffman, and Jared Wallace. Arrangements are under the direction of Earthman Funeral Directors, Baytown, TX.

Lorah Nolan

Lorah Kathleen Nolan, age 58, passed away August 10th at St. Lukes Hospital. She was born in Dallas, Texas on June 20th 1948. She has been a Baytown resident for the past 29 years. Her loving husband of 40 years, Marc E. Nolan, and sons Jimbo Nolan and Junior Nolan preceded her in death.

She is survived by daughter and son-in-law Shellie and Mike Bustos of Katy, son and daughter-in-law Troy and Kelly Nolan of Baytown, sons Bud Nolan of Baytown and Marc J. Nolan of San Diego, California, loving granddaughters from Katy, Texas Brittany, Jessica and Kennedy Bustos, and granddaughter Cheyanne and grandsons Joshua and Xavier Nolan from Baytown, sister and brother-in-law Carol and Robert Long of Austin, and lifelong best friend Menda Schouest of Waggaman, LA. Her loving pets Zoey and Cloe will also miss her.

Ernest "EC" Greenwood

Ernest “EC” Greenwood, age 85, was born on February 7, 1921 in Stoneham, Texas. He departed this life on Tuesday, August 8, 2006 at Triumph Hospital in Baytown, Texas. He resided in Baytown for more than fifty years. He served as a Deacon and a member of the Men’s Chorus at Greater St. John Baptist Church.

Deacon Greenwood was preceded in death by his parents, Virgil and Elnora Greenwood, wife, Lorena Greenwood, one step daughter and one step son. He is survived by two daughters from his first marriage to Atriss Linton Lewis: Leeatriss Greenwood of Houston; Ernestine McLaughlin (Errol), of Baytown; and one step-daughter, Mary James from his marriage to Lorena Greenwood.

Dolores Zamora, 73, of Baytown, passed away Wednesday, August 9, 2006, at her home with her loving family by her side. She was born June 1, 1933, in Houston, Texas, to Juan and Maria (Gaona) Lujano.

A member of the Pentecostal faith, Lola spent her early years in Brownsville, Texas. In 1973, she moved to Baytown where she and her husband, Asencion raised their family. She will be remembered for her love of family, singing, gardening, and cooking, especially her famous tamales and mole.

Liddie Pauline Fowler, 89, of Baytown, passed away Tuesday, August 8, 2006 in a local hospital.

Ruth Crow

Ruth Halene Cox Crow, 80, went to be with her Lord in Heaven on July 27, 2006 in Baytown. Funeral services were held Saturday, July 29, 2006 at 10:00 at the Trinity Church of Christ with Lanier Stephens officiating and Windle Kee and Bud Mc Farland assisting. Burial was held at Cedar Grove Cemetery.

Ruth was born Sept. 12, 1925 to George and Ever Thompson in Trinity, Texas, where she was a member of the Church of Christ. She spent most of her time in the Trinity, Groveton, Huntsville area. In 2002 she and Roy moved to Baytown.
