Funeral: 3:30 p.m. Monday at Greenwood Funeral Home. Entombment: Greenwood Mausoleum. Visitation: 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday.

Melody Pilliod was born Feb. 29, 1940, in Hobbs, N.M. She moved to Amarillo, Texas, in 1955 and on to Fort Worth in 1958. She retired from Lockheed after 30 years as a quality assurance engineer. She was a Baptist by faith.

She was preceded in death by her parents, James Karl and Pauline Elizabeth Cheatum Neal.

Survivors: Husband of 20 years, Donald Glenn Pilliod of Benbrook; sons and daughters-in-law, Brian Keith and Diana Hill of Houston and David Glen and Michelle Hill of Hurst; stepdaughter and son-in-law, Lisa and Marsh Weiershausen of Willow Park; grandchildren, Calvin Glen Hill, Chelsie Nicole Hill, Zachary Bryce Hill and Megan Marae Weiershausen; mother-in-law, Alma Skipworth of Bonham; sister-in-law, Sandra Eagleton and husband, Walter, of Bonham; one niece; and one nephew.

DALLAS -- Jackie Lee Riley, 32, an auctioneer of antiques, died Wednesday, April 30, 1997, at a Dallas hospital.

Jackie Lee Riley was born June 9, 1964, in Garland.

Survivors: His life partner, Wade Earp; parents, Gene and Leetha Riley of Alba; brother, Curtis Riley and his wife, Robin, of Sachse; niece, Casey Cheyene Riley of Camden, Ark.; and a host of friends and family.

ARLINGTON -- Olen B. Rogers, 85, a retired truck driver, died Thursday morning, May 1, 1997, at an Arlington hospital.

Funeral: 10 a.m. Saturday at South Park Baptist Church in Fort Worth. Burial: Greenwood Memorial Park. Officiating: the Rev. Gaylan Henry.

Olen Rogers was born Jan. 11, 1912, in Havana, Ark., to Jack and Gussie Hood Rogers and had lived in Arkansas until moving to Fort Worth in 1947. He had lived in Arlington for the past 10 years. Mr. Rogers was a member of South Park Baptist Church.

Survivors: Wife of 59 years, Willie M. Rogers; son and daughter-in-law, Harold and Kathy Rogers of Arlington; sister, Faye Lee of Paris, Ark.; granddaughters, Jennifer and Suzanne Rogers; and several nieces and nephews.

Thelma D. Sadler
FORT WORTH -- Thelma D. Sadler, 81, a homemaker, died Thursday, May 1, 1997, in Fort Worth.

Thelma D. Sadler was born Jan. 6, 1916, in Bosqueville.

Survivors: Husband, Herschel L. Sadler Sr. of Fort Worth; son, Herschel L. Sadler Jr. of Fort Worth; sisters, Dezree Stewart, Rosa Bouldin and Dorothy Dabbs, all of Arkadelphia, Ark.; three stepgrandchildren; one niece; and a host of other relatives and friends.

Burl B. Sherwood
MANSFIELD -- Burl B. Sherwood, 55, an operations specialist for Pinkerton Security and a nine-year Mansfield resident, died Thursday, May 1, 1997, at a Fort Worth hospital after battling cancer.

Funeral: 11:30 a.m. Monday at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 3921 Turner Warnell Road in Arlington. Burial: Moore Memorial Gardens. Visitation: 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday at Moore Funeral Home.

Burl B. Sherwood was born March 12, 1942, and was raised in Kansas City, Mo. He was a devoted father who worked diligently to support his family financially, emotionally and spirtually. He enjoyed being a fan of women's basketball and coaching AAU girls' basketball. Mr. Sherwood possessed a sincere testimony and love for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

Survivors: Wife, Mary Janet Sherwood of Mansfield; sons, James Sherwood of San Antonio and Joel Sherwood of Mansfield; daughters, Kimberly Bean of Lees Summit, Mo., and Susan Sherwood and Karen Sherwood, both of Mansfield; brother, Floyd Sherwood; sisters, Betty Lou Horton and Patsy Ann Phillips; grandchild, Ashley Bean; and all the employees of Pinkerton Security.

Armida Thomas was born March 28, 1911, in Wolfe City and lived more than 50 years in Fort Worth.

She was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Mary Walls.

Survivors: Husband of 61 years, Alexander Thomas; daughter, Wanda Thomas of St. Louis, Mo.; grandchildren, Carlton Thomas of San Diego, Calif., and Marsha Thomas of Houston; three great-grandchildren; and nephews and nieces.

Billy Gene Welter was born July 30, 1956, in Vidor.

He married Debra Meador Jan. 17, 1997, in Decatur. He was a member of Lake Bridgeport Baptist Church.

He was preceded in death by a sister, Patricia Rice, in 1984.

Survivors: Wife, Debra of Bridgeport; brothers, Lawrance Welter and David Welter, both of Joshua, Jerry Welter of Greensboro, S.C., and Doyle Welter of Denver, Colo.; and sister, Linda Rawls of Houston.

Daniel B. Austin was born Sept. 30, 1908, in Memphis, Texas. He had been an area resident since 1953 and was a member of North Side Church of Christ.

Austin of Arlington; daughters, Betty Workman of Fort Worth, Danell Baldwin of Duncan, Okla., Hazel Arnett of Arlington and Esta Austin of Greenville, Miss.; brother, Melvin Austin of Ringling, Okla.; 13 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and one great- great-grandchild.

John Wesley Baker
AUSTIN -- John Wesley Baker, 83, a retired U.S. government employee, died Friday, May 2,, 1997, at home.

Funeral: 2 p.m. Monday at White's Chapel of Memories in Weatherford. Visitation: 2 to 9 p.m. Sunday, and 8 a.m. to service time Monday at the funeral home.

Mr. Baker was born June 29, 1913, in Garner, and lived most of his life in Texas. He served during World War II in the 14th Naval Construction Battalion (Seebees) on Guadalcanal. He and Elizabeth were married March 4, 1977, in Stephenville.

Survivors: Wife, Elizabeth Baker of Austin; son and daughter-in-law, Millard John Baker and Heather Richardson of Austin; nephews and wives, Kenny and Jane Baker of Carrollton, Johnny and Kelly Baker of Bonham; other nephews; and nieces.

Bobby Dell Bradley was born April 25, 1943, in Waxahachie. He attended First Adventist Church of Fort Worth.

Mr. Bradley was a loving husband and father whom we will always love.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Laura and Will Bradley.

Tim Brunson and his wife, Elizabeth, of Fort Worth; sister, Kimberly Neidel and her husband, Richard, of Arlington; maternal grandmother, Georgie Belle Williams and paternal grandmother, Ethel Brunson, both of Wilcox, Ariz.; and fiance', Peter L.
