FORT WORTH -- Thomas Walter Miller, 86, who had retired as a truck driver for the city of Fort Worth after 30 years, died Sunday, May 11, 1997, in Fort Worth.

Graveside service: was 10 a.m. Tuesday in Greenwood Memorial Park.

Thomas Walter Miller was born March 5, 1911, in DeRoche, Ark.

He was a member of Gospel Tabernacle and a past member of the sheriff's posse.

Survivors: Daughter, Didi Higginbotham; grandchildren, Jeff Higginbotham and Heather Calicott; and four great-grandchildren.

Lucile Crooks Moon
COVINGTON -- Lucile Crooks Moon, 91, a retired schoolteacher, died Tuesday, May 13, 1997, at a Fort Worth nursing center.

Funeral: 2 p.m. Thursday at Crosier- Pearson-Mayfield Funeral Home. Burial: Rio Vista Cemetery in Rio Vista. Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.

Memorials: Covington United Methodist Church, Covington, Texas 76636.

Lucile Moon was born July 24, 1905, in Covington.

Survivors: Brother, Richard Crooks of Crowley; and sisters, Gertrude Smith of Fort Worth and Sadie Price of Itasca.

FORT WORTH -- Martha Alma Morris, 83, a retired accounting clerk for the government, died Monday, May 12, 1997, in Fort Worth.

Ruth E. Norwood
BENBROOK -- Ruth E. Norwood, 77, a retiree of Penland Distributors, died Monday, May 12, 1997, at a Fort Worth hospital after a courageous battle with cancer.

Memorial service: 4 p.m. Thursday at Christ the King Episcopal Church, 3290 Lackland Rd. Father Dee Bright and Father Gayland Pool will officiate, with a reception following at the church.

Memorials: in lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Tarrant County Cancer Society or Christ the King Episcopal Church.

Ruth E. Norwood was born Nov. 11, 1919, in New York, N.Y., and had been a Fort Worth resident since 1951.

She was an avid bridge player and belonged to the following bridge groups: Finesse at the Womans Club of Fort Worth, Lake Worth Senior Citizens Center and the Friday Bridge Group.

She was also a member of the Rejebian Book Club, Sorosis Study Group and Christ the King Episcopal Church for the past 45 years. Mrs. Norwood was active and supported various little theater groups.

Survivors: Husband of 56 years, Robert E. Norwood; daughters, Barbara A. Baxter and Pam Coburn; son, Robert E. Norwood Jr. and their spouses; six grandchildren; one great-grandson; and sister, Doris Kent of Phoenix. Ariz.

PORT O'CONNOR -- Helen Josephine Jennings Pomykal, 76, a retired dietitian and homemaker, died Monday, May 12, 1997, in Port O'Connor.

Helen Josephine Jennings Pomykal was born March, 8, 1921, in Sulphur, Okla.

She was a dietitian and retired in 1983. She attended Texas State College for Women in Denton, East Central State College and graduated from Oklahoma A&M. She was a member of the Murray County Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution. She was also an active church member and Sunday school teacher, She was employed by the Fort Worth Osteopathic Hospital, where she retired. She was also formerly employed in civil service with the Federal government in L.A., Calif.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Harry Jennings and Cecil Douthitt.

Survivors: Husband, Woodrow Amos Pomykal of Port O'Connor; sons, Dr. Ray C. Pomykal of Clear Lake and Forrest A. Pomykal of Port O'Connor.; sister, Bernice J. Williamsen of Alexandria, Va.; brother, John Jefferson Jennings II of Norman, Okla.; and two grandsons.

HURST -- Lyma " Bobbie" Rutledge, 85, a homemaker, died Sunday, May 11, 1997, in Hurst.

Lyma "Bobbie" Rutledge was born June 11, 1911, in Midlothian.

She was the daughter of the late John Henry and Amanda Ellen Glass.

Mrs. Rutledge was preceded in death by her husband, John Monroe Rutledge.

Survivors: Children, Charles Watson, Robert R. Rutledge, Dorothy F. Harkness, Jerry W. Rutledge, Henry Rutledge, Wynette Garrett, Sherran Bailey, Donna Ekas, Lucy Diviney and Linda Marzil; 18 grandchildren; 52 great- grandchildren; one great-great- grandchild; and sister, Maybelle McGowan.

Charles "Dick" Ryan
FORT WORTH -- Charles "Dick" Ryan, 80, a retired supervisor, died Monday, May 12, 1997, at a Fort Worth hospital.

Charles Ryan was born Dec. 4, 1916, in West Union, Ohio. He was very active with his family. He was a veteran of World War II, serving in the European Theater, 216th Armored Engineer Battalion. He was employed by General Dynamics ockheed for 45 years as a supervisor in logistics.

Survivors: Wife, La Juana Ryan of Fort Worth; children, Martha Ryan, Marilyn Ryan and Michael Ryan, all of Fort Worth; brother, Winston R. Ryan of Houston; and sisters, June Jackson of Cardington, Ohio, and Eleanor Moehlman of Cincinnati, Ohio.
