Victor Jesus Hernandez was born Dec. 25, 1980, in Fort Worth.

He was a student at Coronado High School in El Paso.

Survivors: Parents, Gilberto and Guadalupe Hernandez and father, Ramiro Lerma Jr.; one brother; two sisters; 20 cousins; three aunts; and three uncles, all of Fort Worth.

FORT WORTH -- Helen Ruth Holmes, 48, a patient care provider, died Sunday, May 18, 1997, at a local hospital.

Funeral: 11 a.m. Friday at Rising Star Church of God in Christ, 3909 Reed St. Burial: Skyvue Memorial Gardens. Family hour: 7 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Gregory W. Spencer Funeral Directors.

Helen Holmes was born Jan. 25, 1949, in Fort Worth. She was a former member of Love Sanctuary Church of God in Christ. She was a graduate of I.M. Terrell High School.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Lenzy, on March 31, 1996, and uncle, Dr. E.L. Battle, on Dec. 11, 1996.

Survivors: Daughter, Dore' Holmes Aery and husband, Kendrick, of Fort Worth; father, Roosevelt Lenzy of Fort Worth; brother, Minister Anthony Lenzy of Fort Worth; sisters, Diana Kelley of Houston, Wanda Lenzy of Fort Worth and Angela Lenzy of Houston; grandchild, D'Vonte Aery; seven foster children; and three foster grandchildren.

Pauline I. Hooper was born May 4, 1914, in Fort Worth.

She was preceded in death by her brothers, Ray Johnson and Wesley Green, and a sister, Bonnie Foreman.

Survivors: Husband, Howard L. Hooper of Fort Worth; sons, John Wesley Hooper of Fort Worth and Jackie Ray Hooper of Euless; eight grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren.

Delightful Howell was born July 4, 1901, in Decatur.

Survivors: Son and daughter-in-law, C.W. and Bernice Howell of Fort Worth; grandchildren, Gloria Mask of Saginaw, Robert Thompson of Lompoc, Calif., Mary Jo Tackett of Fate, Sheryl Moore of Burleson and Linda O'Bar of Crowley; 11 great-grandchildren; and five great- great-grandchildren.

Grace B. Tibbetts Jackson
ARLINGTON -- Grace B. Tibbetts Jackson, 78, a homemaker, died Tuesday, May 20, 1997, in Arlington.

Funeral: 3:30 p.m. Wednesday at Arlington Funeral Home. Burial: Green Lawn Memorial Park in Port Arthur. Visitation: was Tuesday at the funeral home.

Grace B. Tibbetts Jackson was born June 28, 1918, in Sycamore, Ala.

She had been a resident of Arlington for five years and was a former resident of Port Neches, Texas. She was a Past Worthy Matron of the Order of the Eastern Star, for the Port Arthur Chapter, and she was a member for 50 years. She was also a member of the Social Order of Beauchant.

She was preceded in death by her daughter, Clara Grace Phillips.

Survivors: Husband, Wilburn Jackson of Arlington; sons, Dr. Leonard Tibbetts and his wife, Mary Jane, of Arlington and Claude N. Tibbetts and his wife, Gwen, of Baton Rouge, La.; eight grandchildren; and four great grandchildren.

Leona Mae Kinder
HALTOM CITY -- Leona Mae Kinder, 85, beloved mother, housewife and business woman, died Monday, May 19, 1997, at a North Richland Hills hospital following a series of strokes.

Funeral: 11 a.m. Wednesday at Mount Olivet Funeral Home. Graveside service: 1 p.m. in Greenwood Cemetery in Weatherford. The Rev. Ronnie Williams will officiate.

Leona Mae Kinder was born May 8, 1912, in Prairie Hill in Limestone County.

Mrs. Kinder was a graduate of Groesbeck High School and attended Baylor University in Waco. She was the oldest of two daughters of A.B. "Boss" McKenzie and Lillie, former sheriff of Limestone County, 1926-1932, and chief of police in Mexia, 1932-1945.

Mrs. Kinder served as district clerk of Limestone County from 1940 through 1944. She married Virgil L. Kinder in 1945 and spent the remainder of her life in the Fort Worth area, working several years in the circulation department of All Church Press on Berry Street.

She was a saintly Christian woman and wonderful mother who loved her God, her son, her church and her Bible. She was a longtime valued member of Grace Baptist Church, Las Vegas Trail at Loop 820, since 1967.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Virgil L. Kinder, in 1989. He was a cost accountant with Harry B. Friedman Construction Company of Fort Worth. She had been cared for in her home since 1989 by her son during incapacities after heart surgery and ultimate dementia.

Survivors: include her only child, her son, Jack Stanley Barefield of Fort Worth; sister, Cleo Ferguson of Mount Pleasant; niece, Margaret Jane Burrows of Mount Pleasant; and nephew, Dr. Williams A. Ferguson of Mount Pleasant.

CLEBURNE -- Ethel Mae Knox, 68, a cosmetologist/restorative artist for a funeral home, died Tuesday, May 20, 1997, at a local hospital.

Graveside service: 2 p.m. Thursday in Rose Hill Cemetery in Cleburne.

Visitation: 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at Crosier-Pearson-Mayfield Funeral Home.

Ethel Mae Knox was born March 9, 1929, in San Antonio.

Survivors: Sons, Johnny Dale Knox and Mark Knox, both of Cleburne; brother, Charles Meadows of Rhode Island; eight grandchildren; and 10 great- grandchildren.

FORT WORTH -- Tom "Tex" Lansden, 54, a retail clothier for John L. Ashe, died Sunday, May 18, 1997, in Fort Worth.

Tom Lansden was born May 3, 1943, in Harlingen, Texas. He was a graduate of Central State University in Edmond, Okla. He was the former owner of L.O. Hammons Mens Store in Fort Worth.

Survivors: Wife, Sheila Lansden; mother, Lucille Hammons of Dallas; brothers, John Lansden of Dallas and Joe Lansden of Simi Valley, Calif.; nieces and nephews; and loving friends.
