BEDFORD -- Wayne Harp, 75, a retired employee of U.S. Gypsum Co. and production supervisor for Kelly-Moore Co., died Tuesday, May 20, 1997, in Bedford. Funeral: 10 a.m. Saturday at First Baptist Church of Euless Chapel. Pastor Bill Fowlkes will officiate. Burial: Bluebonnet Hills Memorial Park. Visitation: 9 to 10 a.m. Saturday at the church.

Memorials: First Baptist Church of Euless Library or charity of choice.

Wayne Harp was born Jan. 21, 1922, in Mansfield, Ark.

He was a member of First Baptist Church of Euless. Mr. Harp had worked for U.S. Gypsum Co. for 25 years and Kelly-Moore Co. for 15 years before retiring in 1985.

Survivors: Wife, Johnnie Trice Harp; son, Ken Harp and his wife, Janie; stepson, Kevin Trice of the Navy; sisters, Wanda Hammock of Social Circle, Ga., Lillian Moore, Neoma Campbell and LuNeal Whitteaker of Huntington, Ark.; four grandchildren; and one great- grandchild.

George D. Higgins Jr.
TOWNSEND, Tenn. -- George D. Higgins Jr., 82, retired director of industrial security for Lockheed Martin/General Dynamics, died Sunday, May 18, 1997, at his home.

Funeral: 2 p.m. Saturday at Greenwood Funeral Home. Burial: Greenwood Memorial Park. Visitation: 7 to 9 p.m. Friday.

George D. Higgins Jr. was born July 19, 1914, in Coffeyville, Kan., and had formerly lived in Fort Worth. He was a member of the American Society for Industrial Security, Aerospace Industries Association, International Association of Chiefs of Police, New York Law Enforcement Association and National Management Association.

Survivors: Wife, Ethel Higgins of Townsend; sons, George D. Higgins III of California and Alan Tucker Davis of Hurst; daughters, Carol McCarvill of Florida, Kay Davis of Colleyville and Alana Marsh of Townsend; brothers, Romain Higgins of Texas and Preston Higgins of California; and six grandchildren.

CHINA SPRING -- Maurine Hood, 88, a retired nurse administrator for John Peter Smith Hospital in Fort Worth, died Tuesday, May 20, 1997, at a Clifton nursing home.

Memorials: Clifton Lutheran Sunset Home in Clifton, in lieu of flowers.

Maurine Hood was born Dec. 23, 1908, in Athens. She was a longtime member of Handley-Meadowbrook Christian Church.

Survivors: Nieces, Ruth Jenkins of China Spring and Mary Hedrick of Princeton; and a host of nieces and nephews.

Gorman Hunt
ARLINGTON -- Gorman Hunt, 72, a truck driver, died Tuesday, May 20, 1997, in Arlington.

Funeral: 3:30 p.m. Friday at Moore Funeral Home. Burial: Moore Memorial Gardens.

Gorman Hunt was born Nov. 30, 1924. He was a member of New York Avenue Church of Christ for 50 years. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II.

Survivors: Wife, Kathleen Osburn Hunt of Arlington; daughters, Carolyn Murray and husband, Bob, of Kennedale, Deborah Lochabay and husband, Samuel, of Conroe and Ann Miller of Florida; sisters, Juanita Hunt Merritt Brooks of Eugene, Ore., and Okaleah Hunt Ezell of Fresno, Calif.; grandchildren, Michael Murray and wife, Tracey, of Kennedale, David Murray of Kennedale, U.S. Army PFC Anna Lochabay of Ft. Lewis, Wash., Samuel Lochabay Jr., Bobi Jean and Kelli Lochabay, all of Conroe, and Dale and Skipper Miller of Florida; and great-grandson, Dustin Murray of Kennedale.

Angela Renee James was born May 3, 1982, in Blytheville, Ark. She was a student at Bailey Junior High School. She loved home economics and wildlife, especially whales and dolphins.

Survivors: Mother and stepfather, Robin and Ray Baldridge of Arlington; father, Dennis James of Holcomb, Mo.; sister, Carissa James of Arlington; stepbrother, Johnny Baldridge of Arlington; stepsister, Samantha Fuentes of Florida; maternal grandparents, Charles and Bobbie Williams of Imboden, Ark.; paternal grandparent, Lois James of Holcomb; and numerous aunts and uncles.

Floyd Henry Johnson
FORT WORTH -- Floyd Henry Johnson, 69, a retired city of Fort Worth Water Department employee, died Wednesday, May 21, 1997, in Fort Worth.

Funeral: 4 p.m. Friday at First Presbyterian Church in Fort Worth. Burial: Greenwood Memorial Park. Visitation: Thursday.

Floyd Johnson was born July 13, 1927, in Fort Worth. Henry served in the United States Navy and was honorably discharged in 1946. He worked for a number of years at General Dynamics. Henry's degree from Texas Christian University was in physics. Henry married Reeta McMorrow in 1990. They lived seven happy years in Fort Worth and at their vacation home. For many years, Henry was an elder and active member of the First Presbyterian Church, the Fort Worth BPO, Elks Lodge No. 124, the Masonic Lodge and was a 32nd Degree Mason, KCCH. Henry was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great- grandfather and friend. He and Reeta enjoyed travel and Henry was a sailing enthusiast.

Henry worked for the Fort Worth Water Department from 1975 until his retirement in 1991, then continued as a volunteer training consultant.

Survivors: Wife, Reeta Johnson; daughters, Carol Daniels and her husband, Roger, of La Grange, and Cyndi Cummings and Charlene McMorrow, both of Fort Worth; granddaughter, Alethia Green of Fort Worth; great- granddaughter, Alexa Green of Fort Worth; great-grandson, Christian Green of Fort Worth; and many friends.

BRECKENRIDGE -- Elbert Lee Jones Jr., 68, a retired plumber and pipe fitter, died Sunday, May 18, 1997, at an Abilene hospital.

Funeral: 2 p.m. Friday at Morehart Mortuary. Burial: Breckenridge Cemetery in Breckenridge.

Willy Larson
ROUND ROCK -- Willy "Onion" Larson, 20, a bull rider, died Tuesday, May 20, 1997, at a Fort Worth hospital.

Memorial service: to be announced by the family at a later date.

Willy "Onion" Larson was born Sept. 20, 1976, in Phoenix, Ariz. On May 20, 1997, he left this world after doing what he loved most -- bull riding. The family would like to give a special thank-you to all of the good friends of Willy's who were there for us in our time of need and the great staff of John Peter Smith Hospital. We love Willy! From now on, all your rides will go the full 8 seconds.

Jimmie Lee Law
BURLESON -- Jimmie Lee Law, 71, a homemaker, died Wednesday, May 21, 1997, at home.

Funeral: 10 a.m. Friday at Laurel Land Funeral Home of Fort Worth. Burial: 2 p.m. Friday in Coolidge Cemetery of Coolidge. Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.

Jimmie Lee Law was born March 22, 1926, in Limestone County.

She had been a Burleson resident for 20 years. Mrs. Law was a member of Liberty Baptist Church and had taught Sunday school for more than 20 years. She was a volunteer at Huguley Nursing Center and very devoted to her family.

Survivors: Husband of 39 years, Raymond Law of Burleson; sons, Monte Law of Burleson and Craig Steward and his wife, Sonia, of Fort Worth; brothers, Carlton Riddell and his wife, Jane, of Garland and Bob Riddell of Fort Worth; sister, Jennie Hobbs of Dallas; grandchildren, Nathan and Anna Steward and Brittani Law; nieces and nephews; and a host of friends.

NORTH RICHLAND HILLS -- Joshua Steven Mansur, 19, a printer and warehouseman for Star Bible Publications, died Tuesday at an Abilene hospital.

Graveside service: 2 p.m. Thursday in Buffalo Gap Cemetery in Taylor County. Alvin Jennings and Terry Groves will officiate.

Joshua Steven Mansur was born in Abilene and had lived in North Richland Hills for three years. He had attended Abilene High School and Keller High School. He was a member of the Church of Christ.

Survivors: His father and stepmother, J. Bruce and Sandi Mansur; his mother, Susan McIntosh; grandparents, Ruth Mansur and Joel and Alma Amyett; brother, Jason Mansur; and sister, Sabrina Mansur.

Cora Anne Scottino Mayott was born March 13, 1941, in Dallas. She had formerly resided in Dallas and Newport Beach, Calif., and had lived in Arlington since 1955. She was a member of Most Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church, where she taught religious education. She was involved in the Lamar High School Instrumental Booster Club and Spirit Committee. Mrs. Mayott was employed as a hematologist at Methodist Medical Center in Dallas for several years.

Survivors: Son, Ron Mayott of Fort Worth; daughter, Caroline Mayott of Huntington Beach, Calif.; parents, Paschal and Rosalie Scottino of Arlington; sister, Carolyn Scottino of Arlington; nephews, John Hilek of Arlington and Ryan Mayott of Fountain Valley, Calif.; niece, Kelcie Mayott of Fountain Valley; and brother and sister-in-law, Alan and Sande Mayott.
