GODLEY -- Norman C. King, 73, a semi-retired territory representative for Consolidated Cigar Corp. with for over 30 years, died Thursday, May 22, 1997, at a local hospital.

Funeral: 2 p.m. Saturday at Laurel Land Funeral Home of Fort Worth. Burial: Laurel Land Memorial Park.

Norman C. King was born May 5, 1924, in Haskell. He served in the Navy during World War II.

Survivors: Wife, Marguerite King of Godley; daughter, Cara Yarbrough of Godley; mother, Blanche King of Austin; brothers, Jimmy King of Austin and O.G. King of Beaumont; sisters, Barbara Daugherty of San Diego, Calif., and Ann Miller of Andrews; and grandson, Skip Hurley, stationed with the Air Force in Spokane, Wash.

John Douglas Lane
GRAND PRAIRIE -- John Douglas Lane, 48, a retired medical professor, died Tuesday, May 20, 1997, at his home.

Memorial service: to be held later in Indianapolis, Ind.

John Douglas Lane was born July 8, 1948, in Indianapolis, Ind. He received an MBA from the University of Dallas and Ph.D. from Indiana University. He retired as a professor from the University of Texas Health Science Center.

Survivors: Wife, Deborah Lane; son, Derek Lane of Grand Prairie; daughter, Cassandra Lane of Grand Prairie; and mother, Mrs. Leon Lane of Indianapolis.

Cornelia Millican
FORT WORTH -- Cornelia "Billye" Millican, 93, a retired executive secretary for the `Star-Telegram,' died Thursday, May 22, 1997, in Fort Worth.

Funeral: 1 p.m. Saturday at Thompson's Harveson & Cole Funeral Home. The Rev. Larry Grubb will officiate. Burial: Mount Olivet Cemetery.

Honorary pallbearers: Luther Adkins, Clyde DeVoll, Dr. Ewald House, Faires Kuykendall and Gene Rogers.

Cornelia "Billye" Millican was born May 12, 1904, in Bryan. She was a member of First United Methodist Church, Executive Secretaries Inc., Chapter 8 of the Order of the Eastern Star and Daughters of the Nile.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Clyde Millican, assistant city circulation manager of the `Star- Telegram,' in 1974.

Mr. and Mrs. Millican jointly retired Dec. 31, 1966, after a combined service to the `Star-Telegram of 83 years. She had been an executive secretary for many years to newspaper executives Harold Hough and B.N. Honea.

BRIDGEPORT -- Luther Albert "Luke" Mullens, 70, a retired truck driver, died Thursday, May 22, 1997, at a Dallas hospital.

Graveside service: 2 p.m. Sunday in West Bridgeport Cemetery.

Luther Mullens was born June 28, 1926, in Henrietta, Texas.

Survivors: Wife of 30 years, Mary Mullens; sons, Mike and Jimmy; daughters, Barby, Judy and Bill, and Glenna; brothers, Albert and Kay Mullen of Gainesville and Dorothy and Hollis Franklin of Odessa; and several grandchildren.

Grady Lee Murphy was born July 26, 1906, in Mart.

Flossie Hindman Poston
FORT WORTH -- Flossie Hindman Poston, 96, a retired teacher for Fort Worth schools and Arlington Heights High School, died Friday, May 23, 1997, in Fort Worth.

Memorial service: 4 p.m. Saturday at the Chapel of First Presbyterian Church. Burial: private service in Greenwood Memorial Park. Visitation: before the memorial service in the parlor of First Presbyterian Church. Rev. Floyd Kinser and Rev. John Conley will officiate.

Honorary pallbearers: Joe Griffith, Charles McElree, Bill Murray, James Werner and Elden Werner.

Memorials: First Presbyterian Church or a charity of choice.

Flossie Poston was born Aug. 17, 1900, in Cleburne. She was a resident of Fort Worth for 70 years and a graduate of Central High School. She attended Texas Wesleyan College, Columbia University and graduated from Baylor in 1921.

She was a member of First Presbyterian Church for 70 years, Delta Kappa Gamma, The Womans Club and several professional organizations. She was a world traveler, an avid reader, and she was interested in classical and modern literature.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Sidney Poston, in 1937.

Survivors: Daughter, Nancy Poston Hilyard and husband, Orrin L., of Fort Worth; brother, Milus E. Hindman Jr. of Houston; grandson, Murray W. Hilyard of Euless; nephew, George Poston Baker of Pasadena, Calif.; cousins, Roy Kemble of Fort Worth and Mrs. W.H. Miller Sr. of Arlington.

Lindsey Beth Preston
COLLIERVILLE, Tenn. -- Lindsey Beth Preston, 17, a student, died Wednesday, May 21, 1997, in Memphis, Tenn., in a one-car accident.

Graveside service: 4 p.m. Saturday in Greenwood Memorial Park in Fort Worth. Funeral was at 10 a.m. Friday in Germantown United Methodist Church in Germantown, Tenn.

Memorials: Lindsey Preston Memorial Fund at Germantown United Methodist Church.

Lindsey Beth Preston was born Nov. 18, 1979, in Arlington, Texas. She ranked first academically in her class at Houston High School in Germantown, was chosen as a National Merit Scholar and had just received the Sewanee Award for Excellence. She was listed in Who's Who of American High School Students and had received numerous United States Achievement Academy citations.

An active member of Germantown United Methodist Church, she was a member of the Youth Council, Youth Choir, church Administrative Board and Actors for Christ Through Theatre and Song, or ACTS.

She was a member of the Houston High School Concert Choir, the National Honor Society, Mu Alpha Theta, Bridge Builders, Houston Heartbeat, Peer Tutoring, Outlook, German Club and Beta Club.

Lindsey had been accepted to the Tennessee Governor's School for the Gifted and Talented in Performing Arts, as well as earning All-West and Solo and Ensemble awards. She was her school's top German III student for 1996-97.

Lindsey loved the theater. She was in the cast of the Houston production of `Godspell' and appeared in such Morgan Woods Theatre shows as `You Can't Take It With You, Anything Goes, George M.' and `The Pirates of the Penzance.'

Survivors: Parents, Robert and Dena Stoudt of Collierville, Tenn., and John and Cindy Preston of Dallas; half brother, Ryan Preston of Dallas; maternal grandparents, Louis and Wanda Shepelwich of Fort Worth; paternal grandmother, Jacquelyn Preston of Rockville, Md.; and paternal stepgrandfathers, Robert Stoudt of Collegeville, Pa., and Glenn Wolfe of Lawrence, Kan.

Patricia Rose was born Feb. 27, 1956, in Odessa, Texas. She was a member of Burleson Church of Christ.

Survivors: Sisters, Ruby Renfro of Cordell, Okla., and Nell Tillman of Mangum, Okla.; four grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
