FORT WORTH -- Virginia G. Cortez, 60, a homemaker, died Thursday, June 12, 1997, at a local hospital.

Funeral: 10 a.m. Saturday at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church. Burial: Mount Olivet Cemetery. Rosary: 8 p.m. Friday at the church.

Virginia G. Cortez was born Feb. 26, 1937, in Ennis.

Mrs. Cortez was one of the founding members of the Guadalupanas of Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend.

Survivors: Husband of 44 years, Crespin L. Cortez Sr. of Fort Worth; sons, Robert Cortez of Watauga, Crespin L. Cortez Jr. of Hurst and Felix Cortez, Edward Cortez and Rick Cortez, all of Fort Worth; daughters, Crestina Crownover of Houston, Cynthia Ruelas of Fort Worth and Lydia "Bell" Escobar of Fort Worth; brother, Pete Gonzales of Denver; sisters, Juanita Jaramillo of Denver, Colo., Mercedes Arrellano of Fort Worth, Mary Martinez of Fort Worth and Irene Molina of Dallas; and grandchildren, Stephanie and Leslie Cortez, Michael and Jacob Crownover, Jennifer and Jeremy and Baby Jared Cortez, Kenneth Jr. and Diana and Lisa Ruelas, Victoria Cortez, Julian Crespin Cortez, Virginia "Panchita" and Cristina Escobar.

FORT WORTH -- Raymond Russell Cottrell, 69, a retired chemical laboratory technician for Anderson Laboratories, died Wednesday, June 11, 1997, at home.

Funeral: 3 p.m. Monday at Biggers Funeral Home. Burial: private.

Raymond Cottrell was born July 4, 1927, in Park County, Ind.

He was an area resident 35 years and worked for American Can Company and Anderson Laboratories. He was an avid Texas Rangers fan.

Survivors: Sons, Robert Ray Cottrell of Fort Worth and Terry Lee Cottrell of White Settlement; grandchildren, Amy Nichole Cottrell, Robert Ray Cottrell, Kevin Roach, Jeremy Cottrell, Mitchell Cottrell and Sara Cottrell.

FORT WORTH -- Ida B. Desimone, 91, a cashier, died Wednesday, June 11, 1997, in Richland Hills.

Funeral: 11 a.m. Saturday at Mount Olivet Funeral Home in Fort Worth. Burial: Mount Olivet Cemetery in Kalamazoo, Mich. Rosary: 7 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.

Ida B. Desimone was born May 24, 1906, in Houma, La. She was a life member of the VFW Ladies Auxiliary.

She was preceded in death by two daughters and two sons, including Philip Raymond Liberto.

Survivors: Sons, Joseph N. Liberto of Krum and John A. Liberto and Roy A. Liberto, both of Gun Barrel City; sisters, Mary Casciola of Shreveport, La.; 16 grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren; and nine great-great-grandchildren.

Ronnie Lee English
CLEBURNE -- Ronnie Lee English, 39, who had homes in Cleburne and Alvarado, died peacefully in his sleep Tuesday, June 10, 1997, at his home in Alvarado.

Funeral: 1 p.m. Saturday at Emerald Hills Funeral Home. Burial: Laurel Land Memorial Park of Fort Worth. Visitation: 7 to 9 p.m. Friday.

Ronnie Lee English was born Dec. 11, 1957, in Plainview. He was preceded in death by his parents, Ruth and Ellis Miller English Jr., and his grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Ellis Miller English Sr.

Ronnie was a very giving, loving and generous person. He was never the type to argue and always had a smile on his face and a kind word for everyone. He didn't like people waiting on him as his body got weak, and tried paying everyone for any favor they had done for him. He loved going out boating to Lake Whitney and Cleburne Lake. He also loved buying gifts for everyone. He loved all people, all animals and especially loved all of his family, nieces and nephews. He will be greatly missed by everyone.

Survivors: Daughters, Misty English of Dublin,Texas, Ashliegh English of Dublin, Texas, and Brandi English of Ohio; brothers, Bobby and Cindy English of Watauga, Jimmy and Teresa English of Cleburne and Lonnie English of Nebraska; sisters, Lillian and Tony Ball and Pam and Bryan Lawshe, all of Cleburne, and Helene and Glen Cottongame of Joshua, Elaine and David Farmer of Fort Worth, Janet and Armando Figueroa of Cleburne, Penny and Jason Morgan of Grandview and Lisa and Terry Patterson of Alvarado; and numerous nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles.

James Harvey Evans was born June 11, 1934, in Granite, Okla. He graduated from Arlington High School and served in the Marine Corps.

Anthony Hurst was born Aug. 11, 1954, in Broken Arrow, Okla. to Ross and Evelyn Young Hurst. He married Carol Agnew.

He worked in Tulsa, Okla.; Oklahoma City, Okla.; Fort Smith, Ark.; Arlington and Dallas. He moved from Arlington in 1993.

He was preceded in death by his father, Ross W. Hurst.

William Jones was born April 24, 1922, in Fort Worth.

He attended James E. Guinn Elementary School and graduated from I.M. Terrell High School. He attended Prairie View A&M University for three years. He was a member of New Bethel Baptist Church.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Arena Pearl Jones, in June 1968.

Survivors: Son, Christopher "Danny" Jones of Fort Worth; daughters, Kaye Y. Jones and Sheila V. Moore, both of Fort Worth; sister, Bertha M. Pamilton of Fort Worth; grandchildren, Tamesia P.
