Horace H. Johnson Jr.
ARLINGTON -- Horace Hobson Johnson Jr., 66, a retired helicopter machinist, died Wednesday, May 28, 1997, in Arlington after a courageous, seven- year battle with myeloma cancer.

Funeral: 1 p.m. Saturday at Arlington Funeral Home. Burial: Moore Memorial Gardens in Arlington. Visitation: 7 to 8:30 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.

Memorials: North Texas Chapter of the American Cancer Society.

Horace Hobson Johnson Jr. was born Nov. 15, 1930, to Horace and Ada Lee Johnson of Fort Worth.

He graduated from Godley High School and attended Arlington State College. He retired from Bell Helicopter in 1992. He served as a sergeant first class in the U.S. Army in Korea.

Mr. Johnson was baptized at age 16 at Godley Baptist Church and was a current member of Webb First Baptist Church. He was an endowed charter member of Webb Masonic Lodge 1454 A.F. & A.M., a dual endowed member of Arlington Masonic Lodge 438 A.F. & A.M. and a member of the Webb Chapter 1140 Order of the Eastern Star. He was also a member of the Arlington Chapter 376 R.A.M., Arlington Council 314 R. & S.M. and Commandery of Knight Templar 203, York Rite Mason in Arlington. He was also a member of VFW Post 6111.

He received the Masonic Golden Trowel Award in 1994 and recently was honored by the Webb Masonic Lodge, which named its dining facility in his honor.

The family would like to express their appreciation to their many friends, doctors, nurses and Lodge and Star Chapter members who have offered their support, and to their neighbors who have run many errands and mowed their lawn for seven summers.

His pride and joy was his grandson, Royce. Royce was his "Buddy," the love of his life.

Survivors: Wife of 46 years, Thelma Lanfear Johnson of Arlington; sons, Kenneth C. Johnson of Galveston and Horace H. Johnson III and his wife, Selma, of Arlington; daughter, Laura Johnson of Arlington; brother, Billy Frank Johnson and his wife, Jan, of Cleburne; sisters, Joyce Combs and her husband, Gerald, of Fort Worth and Bobbie Lanfear and her husband, Bob, of Arlington; grandchildren, Beverly Ann Johnson and Royce Hobson Johnson, both of Arlington; extended family, Linda Johnson and her children; nine nieces and nephews; and several great-nieces and great-nephews.

CLEBURNE -- William Ollin Long, 81, a retired farmer and house mover, died Thursday, May 29, 1997, in Keene.

William Ollin Long was born April 28, 1916, in Burleson. He married Lena Justice Oliver in Mansfield on Oct. 31, 1936. He was a member of the Church of God.

Survivors: Wife of 60 years, Lena Oliver Long of Cleburne; son, Ollin Justice Long of Cleburne; daughters, Rowena Ruth Mosley of Arlington, Tiny Ann Martin of Mansfield and Rhonda Jean Banfield of Runge; 15 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; one great-great- grandchild; and a host of extended family and friends.

Kathy Janelle McCrimmon
LEONARD -- Kathy Janelle McCrimmon, 37, a Wal-Mart associate, died Friday, May 16, 1997, at a Dallas hospital as a result of injuries sustained in an automobile accident.

Kathy Janelle McCrimmon was born April 2, 1960, in Terrell. She was a loving wife and mother. She was deeply loved by all and will be missed so much by family and friends.

FORT WORTH -- L.B. Minor, 92, a real estate broker, died Sunday, May 25, 1997, in Fort Worth.

L.B. Minor was born June 12, 1904, in Forestburg. He was the son of Phillip and Florence Minor. He served in the Army during World War I. He was also an ordained Baptist minister, songwriter and 1982 Southern Gospel Music Award winner for his song, "I'm On My Way." He was a man devoted to God, his family and his country.

Survivors: Wife of 69 years, Christine Minor of Fort Worth; daughters, Lewtine Martinez, Coreeta Rodriguez and Marcella Minor, all of Fort Worth; grandchildren, Kenney, Tracy, Christie, Casey, Tina, Ezra and Tony; 10 great- grandchildren; and two great-great- grandchildren.

Lowell Mowell was born April 16, 1918, in Comanche County, Texas. He lived in Haskell County, Texas, before coming to Fort Worth in 1943. He retired in 1982 from General Dynamics after 38 years as a flight line mechanic. He was a member of Lake Worth Baptist Church for 47 years. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and friend.

Survivors: Wife, Merle E. Mowell of Fort Worth; son, Edward L. Mowell and wife, Nelda, of Saginaw; daughter, Margie Sedberry and husband, Delbert, of Saginaw; sister, Betty Faye McLennan of Fort Worth; grandchildren, Susan Owen and her husband, Dewayne, Michael Witt and his wife, Mary, Douglas Mowell and his wife, Denise, Debra Windsor and husband, Mike, Lori Garrison and husband, Harley, and Chris Sedberry; and great-grandchildren, Lauren, Matthew, Joshua, Taylir, Payton, Ben, and Lindsi.
