STEPENVILLE -- Richard Ray Newman, 40, died Monday, June 2, 1997, at a local hospital.

Memorial service: 10:30 a.m. Friday at St. Brendan's Catholic Church. Father Philip McNamara will officiate. Rosary: 7 p.m. Thursday at the church.

Richard Ray Newman was born June 29, 1956, in Camp Pendleton, Calif.

Survivors: Parents, Mr. and Mrs. Raymond Newman of Gordon; brother, Stuart Al Newman of Strawn; sisters, Laura Ann Mallory of Weatherford and Cora Braim of Ranger; three nephews; and six nieces.

Hal C. Noah
RED OAK -- Hal C. Noah, 89, an Assemblies of God minister, went to be with his Lord Jesus Christ on Monday, June 2, 1997, in DeSoto.

Funeral: The celebration service of his heavenly homegoing will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Oak Cliff Assembly of God Church, 4400 South R.L. Thorton at Ann Arbor in Dallas. The Rev. George Sawyer, Lyle Noah and the Rev. Bill H. Smith will officiate. Burial: Laurel Land Memorial Park.

The Rev. Hal C. Noah was born Sept. 23, 1907, in Marion County, Iowa, to David and Viola Noah. He was a diligent and faithful servant of Jesus Christ. He pastored many churches in his early ministry. He was a prominent minister of the Assemblies of God. He hosted several popular Christian radio programs, along with being a favorite guest speaker for various Christian television programs, camp meetings and National Assemblies of God conventions.

He built and pastored Oak Cliff Assembly of God Church in Dallas, Texas, where for 33 years he touched many lives because of his walk with the Lord. He was known as a soul winner. Everyone knew him as having a spirit of love, kindness, goodness, faithfulness and joy.

Though he will be missed by all, we know he is receiving his reward in heaven for the years he labored for Christ.

He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 57 years, Dorothy Fae Noah; his precious son, Ken Noah; and a brother, Steve Noah.

Survivors: Sons, David Noah Sr. and his wife, Jeanne; daughter, Connie Smith and her husband, the Rev. Bill H. Smith; brother, Lyle Noah; sisters, Lavanna Coons and Lavada Keehey; 12 grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends.

Tim A. O'Neil
LAKE JACKSON -- Tim A. O'Neil, 53, died Thursday, May 29, 1997, ending his courageous battle with cancer.

Memorial service: 10:30 a.m. Thursday in Restland Memorial Park in Dallas. Officiating will be Dr. William Longsworth.

Memorials: building fund of Grace United Methodist Church, Box 369, Manvel, Texas 77578, in lieu of flowers.

A resident of Lake Jackson, Texas, Tim A. O'Neil will be remembered for the countless hours he dedicated to the benefit of others. He served on the YMCA board of directors in Hurst- Euless-Bedford and was voted Realtor of the Year twice. In 1983, he received the Man of the Year award from the Women's Council of Realtors in Tarrant County.

Survivors: His wife, the Rev. Kay G. Johnson; son, Tim A. O'Neil; daughters, Terry Lynn Waldrip, Debbie Lloyd and Tracey Voumard; stepsons, Lane, Drew and Graham Robbins; and numerous other relatives and friends.

FORT WORTH -- Emilio Suarez Pantoja, 51, a welder for Trinity Steel Corp., died Wednesday, May 28, 1997, at a local hospital.

Graveside service: 10:30 a.m. Thursday in Skyvue Memorial Gardens. Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Brown, Owens & Brumley Funeral Home.

Emilio Suarez Pantoja was born May 22, 1946, in San Miguel, Mexico.

Survivors: Wife of 14 years, Pamela Pantoja of Fort Worth; sons, Chief Malcomb C. Allen of Hill Air Force Base, Utah, Richard Owen Allen of Arlington and Arthur E. Allen of Fort Worth; daughters, Terry Lynn Windle of Memphis, Tenn., and Saunda Poysal of Oklahoma City, Okla.; one brother and three sisters, all of Mexico; and one niece, Patricia Garcia of White Settlement.

Joseph Quain Parnell
STEPHENVILLE -- Joseph Quain Parnell, 73, a retired auto mechanic, died Monday, June 2, 1997, at a local hospital.

Funeral: 10 a.m. Thursday at Stephenville Funeral Home. Burial: Lowell Cemetery. Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.

Joseph Quain Parnell was born Sept. 15, 1923, in Erath County. He was a member of First Baptist Church and was a World War II Army veteran.

Survivors: Wife, Winnell Turpen Parnell; son, Charles of Tuscola; daughter, Debra Stuteville of Rising Star; brother, Jerry Parnell of Sherman; sister, Helena Robinson of Gonzales, La.; four grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

Marvin W. Paslay
FORT WORTH -- Marvin W. Paslay, 78, a skilled craftsman and retired after 50 years from Carpenter Local No. 429, went to be with his Lord on Tuesday, June 3, 1997, in Fort Worth.

Funeral: 10 a.m. Thursday at Laurel Land Funeral Home. Burial: Laurel Land Memorial Park. Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.

Pallbearers: David Everitt, Keith Everitt, Gary Letz, Jerry Herring, Clay Paslay and Jake Paslay III. Honorary pallbearer: Ross Smith.

Marvin W. Paslay was born Oct. 14, 1918, in Hugo, Okla.

He was a beloved husband, dedicated father and caring brother.

All his life he shared his talents and love of wood with his family and friends through the many gifts he made and gave with a loving heart.

He was a member of Willow Creek Baptist Church. He was a veteran of World War II, having served in the Army Air Corps.

Survivors: Wife, Vivian; son, Michael and his wife, Sherry; stepson, Jerry Herring and his wife, Denise, of Rice; daughters, Annette Smith and her husband, Ross, of Fort Worth and Dana Childs and her husband, Mickey, of Fort Worth and Mardell Everitt of Fort Worth; stepdaughter, Sandy Makuch and her husband, Jerry, of Cleveland, Ohio; brothers, Jake Paslay of Burleson and Jack Paslay of Arlington; sisters, Wanda McLain of Clayton, N.M., Flora Jane Matthews of Rye and Elizabeth Malicoat of Burleson; nine grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.

Donna Kay Prather
MARSHALL CREEK -- Donna Kay Prather, 48, Marshall Creek city secretary, died Monday, June 2, 1997, in Grapevine.

Graveside service: 2 p.m. Thursday in Emerald Hills Memorial Park.

Donna Kay Prather was born Nov. 9, 1948, in Ranger. She and her husband, Jimmie Prather, helped to incorporate the city of Marshall Creek and helped to organize the city police department. Mrs. Prather was active in all facets of the city of Marshall Creek, serving as city secretary for 12 years. She served on the city council shortly after incorporation of the city and served as liaison to the Texas state government, helping the city get dependable water service and other grants. She devoted her life to the city of Marshall Creek.

Survivors: Husband of 15 years, Jimmie Prather; aunts, Wanda Johnson of Keller and Edwina McFarland of Fort Worth; and uncle, Rex B. Martin of Granbury.

Frank Quattrochi Sr.
FORT WORTH -- Frank Quattrochi Sr., 88, died Tuesday, June 3, 1997, in Fort Worth.

Funeral Mass: 11 a.m. Friday at St. Andrews Catholic Church. Private entombment: Greenwood Mausoleum. Visitation: 7 to 8 p.m. Thursday.

Pallbearers will be Bill Buxton, Stanley Buxton, John Chambers, Ben Quattrochi, Dan Quattrochi, Frank Quattrochi and Jodie Quattrochi.

Memorials: American Cancer Society or a charity of choice.

Frank Quattrochi Sr. was born Sept. 20, 1908, in Fort Worth and was a lifelong Fort Worth resident. He attended Fort Worth schools and graduated from Central High School in 1926.

In the leather business in Fort Worth for more than 50 years, Mr. Quattrochi founded Texas Leather & Supply Co. and co-owner of B&J Leather Co. He retired in 1984.

He was a member of St. Andrews Catholic Church and Colonial Country Club. He was an avid golfer and loved to travel.

Survivors: His wife, Patsy M. Quattrochi; sons, Frank Quattrochi and Dan Quattrochi, both of Fort Worth; daughter, Diane Chambers of Fort Worth; brothers, Joe Quattrochi and Ben Quattrochi, both of Fort Worth; sisters, Louise Simpson and Jennie Inman, both of Fort Worth; grandchildren, Christine Chambers Tyng of San Antonio, Anna Denton of Austin and Cathleen Chambers Hoonett, Carrie Quattrochi and Jennifer Chambers, all of Fort Worth; three great-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.

FORT WORTH -- Anna Self, 79, a clerk, died Tuesday, June 3, 1997, at a local hospital.

Funeral: 3:30 p.m. Wednesday at Greenwood Funeral Home. Burial: Mount Olivet Cemetery.

Anna Self was born Jan. 28, 1918, in Gatesville.

She had worked for Fort Worth Cleaners and Laundry for approximately 60 years.

Mrs. Self was a member of Faith Fellowship Baptist Church.

Survivors: Stepson, Darwin Self and his wife, Billie June, of Benbrook; stepdaughter, Chic Norcross of Waco; sisters, Inez Gohlke of Cedar Creek and Lillian Williams of Waco; grandchildren, Mike Self and his wife, Linda, of Dallas, Michelle Cagle and her husband, Terry, of Fort Worth, Debra Norcross of Austin, Doug Norcross and his wife, Cindy, of Waco; nieces, Pat Wooten, Vickie Nance and Mary Ann Thomas, all of Waco, and Dean Harross; and four great- grandchildren.

Korless Corrine Shawn was born Oct. 27, 1944, in Wise County.

Marvin Sledge
FORT WORTH -- Marvin Sledge, 91, a retired Air Force colonel and base commander, died Thursday, May 29, 1997, at a local hospital.

Graveside service: 10 a.m. Friday in Cresson Cemetery.

Marvin Sledge was born Aug. 13, 1905, in Cresson.

Following his childhood in Cresson, he graduated from Texas A&M University, class of 1931, prior to being commissioned in the U.S. Army. During his long and distinguished military career, Colonel Sledge was CCC Camp Commander at Blue and other sites in Arizona. While in India During World War II, as base commander he directed the construction of air bases.

After his retirement from the Air Force, he was active in the China-Burma-India Veterans Association and the Military Order of World Wars.

He was an avid reader and collector of Western and Texana literature. He always had many stories to tell about his experiences in World War II.

The family appreciates the excellent care given to Colonel Sledge by the staff of Fireside Lodge.

Survivors: Grandsons, Paul W. Wood of Missouri City, Texas, and George W. Wood of Austin; sister, Lavelle Sledge Baugh of Fort Worth; nephews, Raymond L. Rhodes and Vee Smith, both of Fort Worth; and many longtime friends in the Fort Worth area, especially Fritz Egenbacher.
