WACO -- Charles Dennard, 61, an equipment operator, died Saturday, June 7, 1997, at a Waco hospital.

Graveside service: 11 a.m. Tuesday in China Spring Cemetery. Brother Chris Caldwell will officiate.

Memorials: Providence Hospice or Multiple Sclerosis Society.

Charles Dennard was born Aug. 11, 1935, in Gainesville. He was employed by Lindsey Construction as an equipment operator. He lived in the Waco and Fort Worth areas most of his life.

He was preceded in death by his father, Jerome Dennard; his mother, Bernice Turner; and his brother, Jimmy Fulton.

Survivors: Sons and daughters-in- law, Chesley Jerome and Cindy Dennard of Bellmead, Charles David and Angie Dennard of Lacy-Lakeview and Samuel Loyd Dennard of Bellmead; sister, Lola Christy of London, Texas; brother, Boyd Dennard of Alvarado; girlfriend, Eddie Faye Armstrong of Lorena; the Armstrong family of Lorena; and six grandchildren. His family and friends will dearly miss him.

FORT WORTH -- Diane S. Duckworth, 63, an aircraft secretary, died Saturday, June 7, 1997, in Fort Worth.

Funeral: 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at Holy Apostle Espiscopal Church.

Diane S. Duckworth was born April 10, 1934, in Syracuse, N.Y. She was a member of the Order of Eastern Star, Chapter No. 999, and the White Shrine of Jerusalem.

Survivors: Husband, Paul Duckworth of Fort Worth; sons, Troy Duckworth and Gregory Duckworth, both of Oklahoma, Godfrey Duckworth of Mississippi, Kevin Duckworth of New York, Leslie French of Friendswood, Gary French of Houston and Bill French of Kansas; daughter, Gail Hanley of Dallas; brother, Russell Statan of Dallas; 14 grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.

Billy Don "Jo Abb" Dunaway was born Sept. 28, 1976, in Fort Worth. He graduated from Burleson High School in 1996.

"Bill Don `Jo Abb' was everything a daddy could ask for. He was loving and caring of others, especially to me. I will always love him and keep him in my heart. I love you, Jo Abb. -- Daddy."

Survivors: Father and stepmother, Bill and Pam Dunaway of Burleson; mother, Barbara, and Chuck Fielding of Kennedale; brothers, Brandon, Robert and Joseph; sisters, Tamra and Katelan; grandparents, Rose and Leroy Rowdon of Kennedale, Louise and Bill Dunaway of Burleson and Betty and Reece Richardson of Watauga; and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

Cordi B. Farmer was born Nov. 1, 1930, in Kansas City, Mo. She was a member of Restoration Church.

Survivors: Son, John B. Farmer and his wife, Geneen, of Tucson, Ariz.; daughter, Nancy Strong and her husband, Ken, of Scott City, Mo.; sister, Sally Lorimer of Albion, Calif.; and six grandchildren.

George Philip Fory
HURST -- George Philip Fory, 78, a retired Air Force pilot, died Sunday, June 8, 1997, in Hurst.

Funeral: 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at Lucas Funeral Home. Burial: Bluebonnet Hills Memorial Park in Colleyville. Visitation: 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at Lucas Funeral Home.

George Philip Fory was born Feb. 18, 1919, in Shreveport, La. He was a member of First United Methodist Church of Hurst. Active in all bodies of the Masonic order, Mr. Fory was a 50-year Mason and 32nd degree. He was also a longtime amateur radio operator.

Mr. Fory was preceded in death by his parents, Ernest C. and Una J. Fory.

Survivors: His wife, Theo W. Fory of Hurst; sons, Ronald Philip Fory of Fort Worth, Jon Roger Fory of Alexandria, Va., and Daniel Laurence Fory of Hurst; sisters, Ms. Ernestine Dalrymple of Shreveport, Mrs. Ardath Huddleston of Dallas and Mrs. Janice Gilbert Cook of Baton Rouge, La.; seven grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Viola Fowler was born Jan. 12, 1909, in Round Top. She had been a Fort Worth resident since 1949 and was a former Van resident. She was a Free Methodist.

Survivors: Son, Malvin Fowler and wife, Emma, and Johnny Fowler and wife, Dyanne, all of Canton; daughters, Eldeane Stovall and husband, T.H., of Henderson, Jo Nell Damm and husband, Vergil, of Fort Worth, Mary Harrell of Fort Worth, Bettye Wright and husband, Vernon, of Fort Worth; brother, Jack C. Miller of Lindale; 19 grandchildren; 26 great- grandchildren; and two great-great- grandchildren.

Mel Godsey was born Oct. 17, 1938, in Jenks, Okla.

After spending the day watching his favorite sport at Texas Motor Speedway, he was returning to his earthly home and instead proceeded to his heavenly home.

Survivors: His son, David Godsey of Fort Worth; daughters and son-in-law, Lynn Arp of Fort Worth and Glenda and Wade Robertson of Botkins, Ohio; mother, Cloie Godsey of Fort Worth; sister and brother-in-law, Tina and Jerry Dufresne of Richland Hills; four grandchildren; and the mother of his children, Barbara Godsey.

Effie Hopson was born Dec. 14, 1895, in Somervell County.

She was a member of the Church of Christ and a lifelong Somervell County resident. She was preceded in death by her husband, Jess Hopson; a daughter, Billie Underwood; three grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

Survivors: Sons, Kenneth Hopson of Glen Rose and Dennis Hopson of Fort Worth; daughters, Marie Rhodes of Glen Rose and Rita Jo Shipman of Walnut Springs; 12 grandchildren; 33 great- grandchildren; and 32 great-great- grandchildren.

Paul Anthony Houston
FORT WORTH -- Paul Anthony Houston, 38, a lab technician for Harris Methodist hospital, died Friday, June 6, 1997, at a local hospital.

Paul Anthony Houston was born Jan. 21, 1959, in Seattle, Wash., and had lived in Fort Worth for 38 years. He was a member of Trinity Baptist Church in Arlington. Mr. Houston participated in all of his children's and nephews' sports activities and coached all sports. He received awards for accomplishments and dedication for his support. He was campus monitor for Meadowbrook Middle and Elementary schools, where all the children will miss him greatly.

Survivors: Wife, Mrs. Sharon Craig Houston of Fort Worth; sons, Paul A. Houston and Nicholas D. Houston, both of Fort Worth; daughters, Nicole S. Houston and Paula A. Houston, both of Fort Worth; father, Mr. Frank Houston of Seattle, Wash.; mother, Mrs. Joyce Houston Thomas of Fort Worth; his stepfather, Mr. Richard Larry Thomas of Fort Worth, who reared him; brothers, Ron E. Thomas and Cary L. Thomas, both of Fort Worth; sister, Regina Joyce Thomas of Fort Worth; a host of nieces and nephews, cousins, aunts and uncles; and many, many, many friends.
