Ravos Ford Sr. was born Sept. 26, 1924, in Arcadia, La.

MANSFIELD -- Laura H. Geering, 66, died Tuesday, June 17, 1997, at her home.

Memorial service: July 19, 1997, in New Mexico.

Laura H. Geering was born March 4, 1921, in Topeka, Kan. She was a member of Pantego Bible Church.

Survivors: Son, Marshall B. Beering of Fort Worth; daughters, Loretta M. Cole of Kaysville, Utah, and Pamela J. Strickland of Fort Worth; brother, Carroll Hollcroft of Gainesville; sisters, Sally Thompson and Glada Courrington, both of Albuquerque, N.M., and Lois Carnes of Fort Bragg, Calif.; and grandchildren, Leslie Strickland, Michael Dempsey, Ronnie Strickland, Mindy and Windy Dempsey and Wesley Dempsey.

Micah Grant was born May 9, 1974, in Fort Worth.

Survivors: Mother, JoAnn Grant; sister, Miyja Grant; grandmother, Barbara Grant of Cleburne; great-grandmother, Sarah Sullivan; grandfather, Freddie Buckley; and many close cousins.

E.H. Joe Henderson
FORT WORTH -- E.H. Joe Henderson, 83, a machinist with Traders Oil Mill for 17 years before his retirement in 1978, died Monday, June 16, 1997, at a local hospital.

Funeral: 11 a.m. Saturday at Mount Olive Baptist Church, 2951 Evans Avenue. Burial: Cedar Hill Memorial Park. Family hour: 7 to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.

E.H. Joe Henderson was born Aug. 24, 1913, in Fairfield, Texas. He joined Mount Olive Baptist Church in 1945.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Ezekiel and Mary Henderson.

Survivors: Wife, Lavada Viley Bly Henderson; sons, Claud A. Palmer, Tyrone Bly and Alvin Ray Bly; daughters, Cynthia Henderson and Vanessa Henderson; brother, John B. Henderson; sister, Martha McDaniel; 13 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.

FORT WORTH -- Charles W. "Bill" Hoard, 64, a manpower technician with the U.S. military, died Monday, June 16, 1997, at a Fort Worth hosptial.

Graveside service: 1:30 p.m. Thursday in Greenwood Memorial Park.

Charles W. Hoard was born Oct. 19, 1932, in Startex, S.C. He was a veteran of the Air Force. He was a life member and past commander of American Legion Post No. 626.

Survivors: Wife, Mary Hoard of Fort Worth; son, Charles E. Hoard of Fort Worth; daughter, Kathryn R. Hoard of Fort Worth; brothers, Ross Hoard of Mesquite and Wayne Hoard of Kingsport, Tenn.; sisters, Jean Blackwell and Evelyn Fowler, both of Startex, S.C.; and nieces and nephews.

Herman W. Kennedy
FORT WORTH -- Herman W. Kennedy, 87, a retired calf buyer who had been with Swift & Co. for 33 years, died Wednesday, June 18, 1997, in Fort Worth.

Funeral: 2 p.m. Friday at Shannon North Funeral Chapel. The Revs. John Redfearn, James N. Morgan and Vitas Chaplain, Jerry Pennington will officiate. Burial: Mount Olivet Cemetery. Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.

Pallbearers: his nephews, David Kennedy, Danny Kennedy, Roy Lee Mosley, Leon Wacasey, Jim Yocom and C.H. Sanders.

Herman W. Kennedy was born Oct. 11, 1909, in Weatherford, and moved to Fort Worth shortly thereafter. He was a loving husband, father and DaDaw. He graduated from North Side High School in 1928 and served in the Cavalry in the early 1900s. In 1934, he married Hazel Sanders.

Mr. Kennedy retired from Swift and Company after 33 years as a calf buyer. He was a member of North Fort Worth Baptist Church and a 50-year member of Tarrant Lodge No. 942, A.F.&A.M.

He was preceded in death by his son, Dr. Herman W. Kennedy Jr., and a sister, Evelyn Burdine.

Survivors: Wife of 62 years, Hazel Kennedy; daughter, Mary Ann McVean of Fort Worth; grandsons, Russell McVean and his wife, Peggy, and Thaine McVean and his wife, Gaylee, all of Fort Worth; granddaughters, Kim Grimm and her husband, Randy, of Fort Worth and Pam Trussell and her husband, G.D., of Mineola; four great-granddaughters, Airica Briggs, Renae Grimm, Sarah McVean and Jessica McVean; brother, Irvin Kennedy of Fort Worth; and sister, Ruth Dowdy of Porter.

Ronald Muriel King
GRANBURY -- Ronald Muriel King, 74, a construction superintendent, died Tuesday, June 17, 1997, at his home.

Funeral: 11 a.m. Friday at Wiley Funeral Home. Burial: Action Cemetery in Acton.

Ronald Muriel King was born Nov. 13, 1922, in Lubbock. He was a former resident of Santa Fe, N.M., and had lived in Granbury for 11 years.

Mr. King served in the Air Force. He was a Methodist and a volunteer for People Helping People.

Survivors: Wife, Ermine Laurence King of Granbury; son, Bill King of Barstow, Calif.; daughters, Sandy Allen of Slidell, La., June Walker of Carrollton and Karen Taylor of Arlington; stepson, Jack W. Roach of North Richland Hills; brother, K.V. King of Mesquite; sisters, Pat Bynum of Stephenville and Betty Nabors of Glen Rose; nine grandsons; one great-grandson; and a nephew, Frank Harvey of Houston.

John Mason Lankford Jr.
FORT WORTH -- John Mason Lankford Jr., 75, retired Tarrant County fire marshal and a retired special projects security administrator with General Dynamics, died Monday, June 16, 1997, after collapsing at a firefighters' convention in Galveston.

Funeral: 2 p.m. Thursday at First United Methodist Church, 313 N. Center, Arlington. Officiating will be Dr. Jeff Smith and the Rev. Ed Stauffer. Burial: Parkdale Cemetery.

Active and honorary pallbearers will be members of the Fort Worth and Arlington fire departments, who will form a guard of honor at the services. The 24 living past presidents of the State Firemen and Fire Marshals Association of Texas were present and were presented at the state convention's opening ceremonies in Galveston. The remaining 23 will be honorary pallbearers.

Memorials: Tarrant County Chapter of the Red Cross Field Canteen or the Muscular Dystrophy Association.

John Mason Lankford Jr. was born in Fort Worth. He began volunteering with the Arlington Fire Department in 1939. He was hired as the county's first full- time fire marshal in 1971. Except for four years, Mr. Lankford was president of the Tarrant County Volunteer Firefighters Association from its beginning in 1951 until 1976. He had been an instructor at Texas A&M University's fire school since 1953.

Mr. Lankford was inducted into the Texas Firefighters Hall of Fame in 1995 and was a member of the founding board of directors for the Fire Museum of Texas.

From 1948 to 1972, he was employed at General Dynamics in jobs related to security and fire safety. After 1972, he was a consultant in the same areas to a number of companies and was a volunteer in state disaster planning projects.

Survivors: Wife, Lynn Swaim Lankford; son, Joey Mason Lankford and his wife, Cheryl Briggs, of Hurst; daughter, Nancy Lankford McCain and her husband, W.D. McCain, of Fort Worth; sister, Catherine Russell Haden; grandchild, Mason David McCain; nephews, James Russell; and nieces, Helen Russell Hall and Sharon Russell Swift.

FORT WORTH -- Thelma Rabinowitz Lerner, 84, a retired sales associate for Edisons, died Wednesday, June 18, 1997, at home.

Savannah Lindsey
SAN ANTONIO -- Savannah Lindsey, 78, a homemaker, died Sunday, June 15, 1997, at a Fort Worth hospital.

Funeral: 2 p.m. Thursday at Laurel Land Funeral Home of Fort Worth. Burial: Laurel Land Memorial Park.

Savannah Lindsey was born Aug. 22, 1918, in Trawick, Texas. She resided in Fort Worth from 1939 until moving to San Antonio four years ago. She was a member of Churchill Baptist Church.

Mrs. Lindsey enjoyed oil painting, sewing, writing, fishing and raising livestock. She was preceded in death by her husband, George Ewing "Bud" Lindsey, on March 6, 1984.

Survivors: Her daughters, Janie Hill and her husband, James, of San Antonio and Connie Lindsey of Fort Worth; grandchildren, Debbie Hill Pratt of San Antonio, Lt. Col. Wiley Lloyd Hill of Hawaii, James Leland Hill of Round Rock, Mark Ewing Hill of San Antonio and Christine Bardwell and Courtney Bardwell, both of Fort Worth; and great- grandchildren, James Adam Pratt, Landon Kiel Pratt and Zachary James Hill, all of San Antonio, and Grant James Hill and Mason Powell Hill, both of Hawaii.

Edward M. Lopez
FORT WORTH -- Edward M. Lopez, 45, a maintenance mechanic for the city of Fort Worth Water Department, died Monday, June 16, 1997, at a local hospital.

Funeral: 2 p.m. Thursday at Polytechnic United Methodist Church. Burial: Shannon Rose Hill Memorial Park.

Edward M. Lopez was born June 19, 1951, in Fort Worth. He was a lifelong resident of East Fort Worth. He was a loving, supporting and faithful husband, father, son and friend. He was a member of Polytechnic United Methodist Church.

Eddie enjoyed life and making people laugh. He was loved by all who knew him and will be missed deeply. Eddie is in heaven watching us all.

Survivors, all of Fort Worth: Wife, Terri Lopez; sons, Aaron Lopez and Christian Lopez; daughter, Camille Lopez; parents, Ernest and Mary Lou Lopez; brother, Frederick Lopez; mother and father-in-law, Donna and Armando Gonzales; sisters and brothers-in-law, Tonya and Lyle Hardy and Robin and William Douglass; brother-in-law, Tim Stokes; best friends, Charles and Suzanne Perry; one niece; and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
