Manuel Zarate Sr. was born Dec. 25, 1919, in Sierra Blanca, Texas, to Julian and Maria Zarate. He and his wife raised their 14 children in the Dallas area.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Consuelo G. Zarate; his son, Scott Zarate; his mother, Maria Zarate; his father, Julian Zarate; and his sister, Carmen Martinez.

Survivors: Sons, Manuel Jr., Robert Sr., Edward, Rudy, David, Mike, Arthur, Frank Sr., Jerry, Vincent Sr. and Martin Sr.; daughters, Lupe Zarate, Juanita Thomas and Debra Watkins; 55 grandchildren; 44 great-grandchildren; sisters, Mary J. Robert Achuff was born June 23, 1935, in Dallas, Penn. He was a Master Gardener for the Denton County Master Garden Club.

Marjorie Mae Wilson Baker
RHOME -- Marjorie Mae Wilson Baker, 73, a retired Assembly of God minister, died Saturday, June 14, 1997, at a Fort Worth hospital.

Funeral: 2 p.m. Tuesday at Fountain of Life Assembly of God Church, 6800 Denton Hwy., Watauga. Burial: Bluebonnet Hills Memorial Park. Visitation: 7 to 9 p.m. Monday at Bluebonnet Hills Funeral Home.

The Rev. Marjorie Mae Wilson Baker was born Oct. 26, 1923, in Gibson County, Tenn. She was a native of Dyersburg, Tenn., and moved to the Fort Worth area in 1960, with her former husband, Harold W. Baker. She received her ministerial license with the Assemblies of God in 1959. She was a radio evangelist, pioneered the "Hour of Hope" and was the founder and former pastor of the Watauga Lighthouse Assembly of God from 1969 to 1984.

The Rev. Marjorie Mae Wilson Baker was preceded in death by a grandson, Daniel Baker; two brothers, Pled Wilson, H.D. (Jack) Wilson; and her parents, Hiram D. and Era Leah Wilson.

Survivors: Son, Billy Wayne Baker of Rhome; daughter-in-law, Margie Baker of Rhome; brother, Clarence Aaron Wilson of Hurst; sister, Mary Pugh of North Richland Hills; grandchildren, Jonathan Baker of Bridgeport and Matthew Baker of Sikeston, Mo.; and great- grandchildren, Aaron, Kallice and Bethany.

FORT WORTH -- Alvis Bonnie Dent Conner, 77, a nurse, died Saturday, June 14, 1997, at a Fort Worth hospital.

Graveside service:3:30 p.m. Monday in Mount Olivet Cemetery.

Memorials: American Heart Association.

Alvis Bonnie Dent Conner was born May 25, 1920, in Lelia Lake, and lived in the Fort Worth area most of her life.

She was preceded in death by husbands, Dr. Cooper Conner in 1994, and Raymond C. Dent Sr., in 1977.

Survivors: Son, Raymond Charles Dent Jr. of Bedford; daughters, Mary Frances Parmer of Houston and Donna Marie Dent of Fort Worth; sister, Juanita Knowles of Lubbock; grandchildren, Billy Arden, Tim Arden, Michael Arden, Lara Durant, Kimberley Ilosvay, Phillip Dent, John Dent, Katherine Dent; 10 great-grandchildren; and a number of nieces and nephews.

Mr. Cypert was born July 14, 1911, in Hillsboro. He married Helen Akins in 1937, and the couple moved to Fort Worth in 1941. Mr. Cypert was employed as the carpet manager for Monnigs until his retirement in 1976. He was a member of Ridglea United Methodist Church.

Mr. Cypert was preceded in death by his wife, Helen A. Cypert on Jan. 12, 1996.

Survivors: Sons, David T. Cypert of Azle and his wife, Judy, and G. Lynn Cypert of Houston; daughter, Bettye Cypert Nowlin and her husband, Wade; brother, Truman Cypert of Hillsboro; sisters, Margie Boyce and Jewel Mitchell, both of Hillsboro, Sybil Herring of Alvin, Kathleen Cain of Pueblo, Colo. and Patsy Williamson of Dallas; sister-in- law, Gladys Irwin of Fort Worth; eight grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and numerous nieces and nephews.

CROWLEY -- Warren Nathaniel Douglas, 73, a retired self-employed homebuilder, died Saturday, June 14, 1997, at home.

Funeral:10 a.m. Tuesday at Willow Creek Baptist Church. Burial: Laurel Land Memorial Park. Visitation: 8 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday at Brown, Owens & Brumley. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.

Mr. Douglas was born May 30, 1924, in Hamilton, and was a veteran of World War II. He was a member of Willow Creek Baptist Church. He served as a deacon 39 years.

Survivors: Wife, Gloria Douglas of Crowley; sons, Eddie and Marsha Douglas of Garland, Donald and Hazel Douglas of Denton, Roger and Danna Douglas of Watauga, John Douglas of Fort Worth; daughters, Nancy and Jack Schriver, Judy Rice, all of Fort Worth, Belinda and Charles Morphew of Haltom City; brother, Eli Douglas of Haltom City and sister-in-law, June Douglas; sister, Ella Perry of Fort Worth; several grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Guadalupe Fuentez
BRECKENRIDGE -- Guadalupe Fuentez, 83, a retired machinist, died Friday, June 13, 1997, at a Fort Worth hospital.

Funeral mass: 10 a.m. Tuesday at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church in Eastland. Burial: Eastland City Cemetery. Rosary: 7:30 p.m. Monday at Edwards Funeral Home Chapel in Eastland.

Mr. Fuentez was born Dec. 14, 1913, in Silao, Mexico. He moved to Ranger in 1916, at an early age, and attended Ranger schools. He married Antonia Gallegos in 1936, in Ranger, and they lived in Ranger and Eastland before moving to Breckenridge in 1961. He worked for R.E. Dye Mfg. as a machinist for 21 years before retiring in 1977. He was a member of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Breckenridge and enjoyed hobby work of making and selling machined wood art.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Antonia; two sisters, Catalina Ermosillo of Fort Worth and Rebecca Reynoso of Mexico City; and one brother, Joe Hunt of Orim, Utah.

Survivors: Sons, Paul and wife, Josie Fuentez of Jacksonville, Fla., Lupe Fuentez, Gilbert and wife, Maria Fuentez, all of Fort Worth; two daughters, Eleanor and husband, Mike Moreno of Cisco, Ophelia Fuentez of Fresno, Calif.; 17 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; sisters, Antonia Cordova and Abelina Mendoza, both of Fort Worth; and brothers, Jessie and John Perez, both of Fort Worth.

Lloyd Zack Gray
WEATHERFORD -- Lloyd Zack Gray, 69, who was a truck stop manager, died Saturday, June 14, 1997, at a Fort Worth hospital.

Funeral: 10 a.m. Tuesday at First Baptist Church in Weatherford. Graveside service: 4 p.m. Tuesday in Trinity Cemetery in Big Spring. Visitation: 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday at White's Funeral Home in Weatherford. The family will be present from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Monday to greet visitors at White's Funeral Home.

Mr. Gray was born Oct. 6, 1927, in Munday. Lloyd Zack Gray began his career in Big Spring at The Big Spring Trucking Terminal. He was in Truck Stop Mangement in Big Spring, Kansas City, Fort Worth and Cisco. For 14 years, Zack was manager of Petro Shopping Center of Weatherford. After four years of retirement, he had been working for Texas Bank of Weatherford. The family also lived in Kansas City, Mo. where he managed a truck complex. Also, they had made their home in Fort Worth at Diamond Loch in North Richland Hills.

Mr. Gray was active in First Baptist Church of Weatherford. He was a member and deacon and served as Sunday School Director of Adult V Class. He was a Gideon member. Zack graduated from Howard College of Big Spring with an Associates Degree in Business. He served in the Navy during World War II.

Mr. Gray was preceded in death by his parents, Zack and Jewel Gray of Munday and Big Spring; three sisters, Louise Gray, Pauline Gray and Mildred Gray.

Survivors: Wife, Evelyn Huddleston Gray of Weatherford; daughter and son- in-law, Linda Gray Baker and Don Baker of Big Spring; daughter and son-in-law, Robbie Gray Stewart and Tony Stewart of Cisco; daughter, Tammy Gray of Weatherford; grandchildren, Craig Baker, Merideth Baker, Marc Baker, Tara Stewart, Zack Anthony "T. J." Stewart; and family pet dog, "Taffy."

Ida Chaney Hooker was born Oct. 21, 1898, in Shive Community in Hamilton County. She was a longtime resident of Fort Worth. She was a member of First Methodist Church of Glen Rose.

Ada Mae Jones was born Feb. 18, 1904, near Five Oaks Community in Johnson County. She was a member of West Side Church of Christ. She was preceded in death by her husband, Palmer E. Jones on April 12, 1988.

Survivors: Sons, Troy C. Jones of Cleburne and Randall M. Jones of Joshua; daughter, Wilma Jean Robinson of Houston; six grandchildren; six great- grandchildren; four step-grandchildren; and nine step-great-grandchildren.

Katherine F.W. McElhaney
FORT WORTH -- Katherine Florence Walker McElheny, 92, a retired librarian, died Saturday June 14, 1997, at a Fort Worth care center.

Memorial service: 3 p.m. Tuesday at First Presbyterian Church in Fort Worth. Entombment: 11 a.m. Tuesday at Restland Abbey in Dallas.

Memorials: Stephen Ministry of First Presbyterian Church in Fort Worth; Pastoral Care Fund of University Christian Church; or a charity of choice.

Katherine McElheny was born Dec. 7, 1904, in Ashburn, Ga. Her parents were Edwin Cephas Walker and Florence Amelia Eubanks Walker. She graduated from Lanier High School in Macon, Ga. She graduated from Wesleyan College in Macon Ga. in 1926. She graduated from Emory University Library School, in Atlanta Ga. in 1929. She was assistant librarian at Florida State College for Women, now Florida State University, in Tallahassee, Fla. She was catalog librarian for Fondren Library of Southern Methodist University in Dallas.

She married Oscar Kilbourn McElheny of Dallas June 23, 1937. She spent two years in Caracas, Venezuela, in 1945 and 1946. She returned to Dallas in 1948, living there until 1983 when she moved to Fort Worth. She was a member of First Presbyterian Church and the Yomac Class, Chapter CH of P.E.O. and the Fort Worth Lecture Foundation and The Pierian Club of Dallas. She was a volunteer at Trinity Terrace in the library and the country store.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Edwin Cephas Walker and Florence Amelia Eubanks Walker; brothers, Grant Williams, Col. Freeman W. Williams; and sisters, Sue Wade and Aline Klaudt and her husband, Oscar Kilbourn McElheny.

Survivors: Daughters, Geraldine McElheny Skinner and her husband, James B. Skinner of Abilene; Amelia Anne McElheny Sanders and her husband, Dr. Charles H. Sanders of Fort Worth, Katherine Walker McElheny Solon and her husband, Paul D. Solon of St. Paul, Minn.; grandchildren, James M. Skinner of Abilene, Mack C. Skinner and his wife, Debbie of Clyde, Charles K. Sanders and his wife, Jennifer Keneally of Paris, France, David R. Sanders and his wife, Laurie Shields-Sanders of San Antonio, Jan K. Solon, Katherine J. Solon, both of St. Paul, Minn.; great- grandchild, Allison K. Skinner of Clyde; nieces, Suzanne Wade Byrd, June Austin Harker, Ann Ketjil Williams; and nephews, David Freeman Williams and John Christopher Williams.

Harvey J. Nation was born April 24, 1928, in Keller. He lived in Fort Worth for 26 years. He served in the U.S. Army and was a veteran of World War II and the Korean War. He was a member of the American Legion.

Floyd A. Nichols was born May 13, 1903, in Lamar, Colo. He was longtime resident of Fort Worth. He retired in 1967 and moved from Taos, N.M. to Fort Worth. He moved to Houston in 1994. He was a member of First United Methodist Church in Fort Worth. He was preceded in death by four brothers.

Survivors: Wife, Clara Nichols of Houston; son, Myron Roger Nichols and daughter-in-law, Denise Nichols, both of Albuquerque, N.M.; daughter, Nancy Nichols Bryan and son-in-law, Paul A.
