FORT WORTH -- Lester Harold Jolly, 62, who retired as an electrician after 40 years with the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers, died Friday, June 27, 1997, at a local hospital.

Funeral: none planned at the deceased's request.

Lester Harold Jolly was born Sept. 28, 1934, in Fort Worth.

Mr. Jolly was a professional guitarist. He could read and write music, play Country and Western, Rock`n' Roll and classical music. He took a period of time off electrical work to play professionally with Tony Douglas and the Shrimpers. He also rode bulls in a local rodeo for a few years.

Survivors: Sons, Harold P. Jolly of Crowley and Clay D. Jolly of Fort Worth; mother, Sybil Jolly of Fort Worth; brother, Charles B. Jolly of Alvin; and sister, Dale Pistokache of Kennedale.

Francisco Lopez
WEATHERFORD -- Francisco Lopez, 73, a truck driver, died Wednesday, June 25, 1997, at home.

Funeral: 2 p.m. Monday at Mount Olivet Funeral Home. Burial: Mount Olivet Cemetery.

Francisco Lopez was born Feb. 29, 1924, in Zuaca, La. He was a member of Teamsters Local 745.

Survivors: Wife, Bertha Lopez of Weatherford; sons, Jesse Lopez, Frank Lopez and Gerald Lopez, all of Fort Worth; step-son, Andrew Richard Gentry of Weatherford; daughters, Margaret Papajohn of Fort Worth and Victoria Lopez Banda of Hamilton; 17 grandchildren; and 39 great-grandchildren.

Raul Jose Manriquez
FORT WORTH -- Raul Jose Manriquez, 79, a retired officer in the USAF and a retired teacher in the Fort Worth ISD, died Thursday, June 26, 1997, at home.

Mass of Christian Burial: 10 a.m. Monday at St. Patrick Cathedral. Vigil: 4 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. Military burial: Mount Olivet Cemetery.

Major Raul Jose Manriquez was born March 24, 1918, in Strawn, Texas. He was a graduate of North Side High School, Texas Wesleyan University and the University of North Texas. He served in the USAF for 20 years. He was a prisoner in Germany for 21/2 years and was in a camp with two of his fellow high school students.

After World War II, he became a teacher in Fort Worth public schools as a coach and a math and Texas history teacher. He taught at J.P. Elder Junior High, North Side High and Meacham Middle schools. He also taught adult education at Trimble Tech High School.

He had been an avid sports enthusiast since high school, having lettered in track and football. He was also a golfer who claimed three hole-in-ones in his lifetime. He was awarded Outstanding Alumni of North Side High School in 1995.

He was preceded in death by his daughter, Rosemary, and his sisters, Alicia and Azalia.

Survivors: Children, Patricia Nofsker and her husband, John, of Reno, Nev., Rick Manriquez of Houston, Robert Manriquez, Yolanda Chapman, Richard Manriquez, Mary Frances Holt and her husband, Johnny, and Monica Susan Manriquez and their mother, Frances Manriquez; nine grandchildren; one great-grandchild; brother, Arturo Manriquez; and sisters, Rosa Manriquez and Esperanza Manriquez, all of Fort Worth.

Alfred Rommel D. Mingo
FORT WORTH -- Alfred Rommel Dennis Mingo, 31, a concrete laborer, died Monday, June 23, 1997, at a local hospital.

Funeral: 1 p.m. Monday, June 30, at Baker Chapel African Methodist Episcopal Church. Burial: Cedar Hill Memorial Park. Visitation: noon Sunday at the funeral home. Wake: 6 to 7 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.

Alfred Mingo was born Jan. 16, 1966, in Fort Worth, to Pal and Marie Butler Mingo. He grew up here and attended A.M. Pate Elementary, Dunbar Middle and Dunbar High schools. He later completed requirements and received his G.E.D. in the Windham school system. Alfred was a member of Baker Chapel AME Church.

He was a sports enthusiast and loved basketball, football and baseball. He also enjoyed riding motorcycles.

Survivors: Wife, Myra L. Mingo of Fort Worth; sons, Ashton Sharp Mingo and Alfred R.D. Mingo Jr., both of Fort Worth; daughter, Paris R. Legrown Mingo of Fort Worth; parents, Pal and Marie Mingo of Fort Worth; sister, Paula Mingo of Fort Worth; niece, Ida Marie Mingo; aunts, Ruth Manuel, Louise Love, Yvonne Allen, Bernice Smith, Miller, Love, Ruth L. Hamilton; uncles, Eulice E. Butler, Arthuree Love, Walter Hobson, Joe Frank Butler, Percy Mingo, E. D. Gibson, D. D. Gibson, Otis Love; and many other family members and friends.

Mary Louise Mummert
DALLAS -- Mary Louise Mummert, 86, a retired executive secretary, beloved wife, mother and friend, died Tuesday morning, June 24, 1997, in Dallas.

Funeral: pending at All Saints Epsicopal Church in Fort Worth. Burial: ashes will be interred at the church.

Mary Louise Mummert was born Oct. 26, 1910, in Fort Worth.

In her long career as an executive secretary, she worked for the general manager of Armour and Co., Herbert Oil Co. and retired from the Ella C. McFadden Charitable Trust in 1985, after 21 years of loyal service. She was a longtime member of All Saints Episcopal Church in Fort Worth.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 47 years, Harry B. Mummert Jr.

Survivors: Daughter, Michele Mummert; and sisters-in-law, Mrs. Mary Alice Bohle of Santa Fe, N.M. and Mrs. Dolores Preston of Lake Forest, Ill.

FORT WORTH -- Lawrence Patton, 69, a mechanic, died Wednesday, June 25, 1997, at home.

Graveside service: 2 p.m. Monday in Mount Olivet Cemetery.

Mr. Patton was born July 6, 1927, in Horatio, Ark.

He had lived in the Fort Worth area since 1952. He was a retired truck driver.

Survivors: Wife, Melba Patton of Fort Worth; sons, Jerry Patton of Waynesville, Mo., Rex Patton, Harold Patton, Ricky Patton, all of Fort Worth; daughters, Joyce Edwards of Winnsboro, Donna Russell of Fort Worth; brothers, Rayborn Patton of Bacliff, Billy Patton of Lone Grove; sister, Lestine Shorter of Lone Grove; nine grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

Alma F. Pierson
FORT WORTH -- Alma F. "Amy" Pierson, 49, a management analyst, died Friday, June 27, 1997, at home.

Funeral: 3:30 p.m. Monday at Mount Olivet Funeral Home. Burial: Mount Olivet Cemetery.

Alma F. "Amy" Pierson was born Sept. 30, 1947, in Fort Worth.

She was the youngest of three children born to Raymond and Rachel Tapp. She moved away and spent a lot of her life in New Orleans and returned to Fort Worth in 1985. That same year she married Jack Pierson and they remained together here in Fort Worth.

Mrs. Pierson was a management analyst with the Department of Justice Immigration and Naturalization.

Survivors: Husband, Jack Pierson of Fort Worth; son, Michael Shane Walch of Eufaula, Okla.; stepson, Johnny Pierson of Grand Prairie; stepdaughter, Dawn McDaniel of Altus, Okla.; parents, Raymond and Rachel Tapp; brother, Dennis Tapp of Virginia.; sister, Rita Nelson of Arkansas; and eight grandchildren.

Helen Louise Seeds
NORTH RICHLAND HILLS -- Helen Louise Seeds, 75, a registered nurse and homemaker, died Thursday, June 26, 1997, at home.

Funeral: 10 a.m. Monday at Lucas Funeral Home in Hurst. Graveside service: 2:30 p.m. Monday in Crestview Cemetery. Visitation: noon to 8:30 p.m. at the funeral home.

Helen Seeds was born Nov. 14, 1921, in Perry, Kan.

She was a lifetime member of Eastern Star, Richland Hills Christian Church and the Christan Women's Fellowship. Helen's life was an excellent model of Christian service. She served her country as a Navy nurse during World War II. Ater the war, she devoted herself to making a Christian home. Always a team player and peacemaker, Helen was a dedicated church worker and an active member of the Christian Women's Fellowship. Helen also volunteered with the Harris Hospital Auxillary and Meals on Wheels. Her most lasting and significant work lay in nurturing those around her. Helen will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

Seeds of North Richland Hills; son and wife, Rick and Trelle Seeds of Azle; daughter and husband, Beth and Steve McLaughlin of Fort Worth; grandchildren, Paul Seeds, Trisha McAda, Lynn Davison, Margaret and Emily McLaughlin; and great-grandchildren, Katherine, Katelyn, Kari and Kyle Davisson.

CLIFTON, Colo. -- Eva Bradberry Thompson, 53, died from cancer on Thursday, June 26, 1997, at her home.

Eva was born Sept. 11, 1943, in Ralls, to T.M. and Flora Bradberry. She graduated from high school in Roswell, N.M., attended Lubbock Christian College and obtained her bachelor's degree from Abilene Christian College. She taught elementary school in Grapevine for a number of years before moving to Colorado.

Survivors: Son, Dallas Thompson of Grand Junction, Colo.; brothers, Timothy Bradberry of Boyd and Wallace Bradberry of Billings, Mont.; and sister, Wanda Carter of Southlake.

DALLAS -- Ida Mae Thrasher, 72, who retired from T.U. Electric in Fort Worth on Aug. 1, 1979, died Friday, June 27, 1997.

Ida Thrasher was born July 11, 1924 to Maggie and Dave Thrasher. She lived in Fort Worth until Feb. 25, 1994 when she moved to Dallas.

Survivors: Brothers, Clifford and Odessa "Dessie" Thrasher of Dallas, Billy and Bernice Thrasher of Garland, Oscar Thrasher of Amarillo, Jerry L. Thrasher of Calera, Okla.; sisters, Flora Mae and Lester Walk of Rogers, Ark. Betty Jean and Ray Harkey of Irving; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Dwight M. Vereen
NORTH RICHLAND HILLS -- Dwight M. Vereen, 68, a retired Army master sergeant, died Friday, June 27, 1997, at home.

Funeral: 1:30 p.m. Monday at Lucas Funeral Home in Hurst. Burial: Bluebonnet Hills Memorial Park. Visitation: 5 to 7 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.

Mr. Vereen was born Feb. 6, 1929, in Irene. He served in the Army 21 years and was in Korea and Germany. He was the recipient of the Army Commendation Medal. Mr. Vereen also served 11 years as operations manager at Chrysler Corporation in Dallas and nine years as a courier at Huggins Honda in North Richland Hills.

He was a beloved father and grandfather.

Survivors: Wife, Gisela Vereen of North Richland Hills; two sons, Steven D. Vereen of North Richland Hills and Darryl S. Vereen of El Paso; three grandchildren, Amanda E., Kyle S., and Ryan D. Vereen, all of El Paso; and daughter- in-law, Meg Vereen of El Paso.
