Memorial service: 11 a.m. Monday at Overton Park United Methodist Church. Officiants: Dr. J. Eric McKinney, the Rev. Mike McKee and the Rev. Joe Duvall. Visitation: 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday at Thompson's Harveson & Cole Funeral Home.

Mr. Crenshaw was born May 19, 1933, in Douglas.

He was a member of Overton Park United Methodist Church, S.P.E. and A.I.M.E., and The Ed Robb Evangelistic Association. He was a graduate of Colorado City High School in 1950 and Texas Tech University in 1954.

Honorary pallbearers: The Boy Scouts of America. Pallbearers: The members of Faith Bible class.

Survivors: Wife of 43 years, Louise Crenshaw of Fort Worth; children, Mike Crenshaw and his wife, Terry, of Houma, La., Kathy Sheffield and her husband, Kenny, of Hurst, Leigh Gregory and her husband, Loyd, of Ralls, and Steve Crenshaw and his wife, Sandra, of Wichita, Kan.; mother, Faye Hughes of Lake Montezuma, Ariz.; daughter-in-law, Connie Crenshaw of Kilgore; five grandsons; and three granddaughters.

James M. Crosson Sr.
GUSTINE -- James M. Crosson Sr., 73, an oilfield and pipeline worker, died Thursday, July 3, 1997, at a local hospital.

James M. Crosson Sr. was born Sept. 30, 1923, in Old Glory. He was a member of Gateway Baptist Church.

Dora Jones
FORT WORTH -- Dora Jones, 81, who retired from housekeeping, died Sunday, June 29, 1997, at a local hospital.

Funeral: 11 a.m. Monday at True Vine Baptist Church, 3732 Miller Ave. Burial: Cedar Hill Memorial Park. Family hour: 6 to 8 p.m. at the church.

Dora Jones was born April 30, 1916, in Pittsburg, Texas.

Survivors: Companion of many years, Mr. Ruby Jones; son, Walter Bailey of Fort Worth; daughter, Mary Wallace of Pittsburgh, Calif.; sister, Mary L. Jones of Oxnard, Calif.; six grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and two great- grandchildren.

Walter C.H. Kerr
FORT WORTH -- Walter Charles Harrison Kerr, 93, a retired physician, died Wednesday, July 2, 1997, at his daughter's home in Fort Worth.

Dr. Walter Kerr was born Dec. 30, 1903, in Peoria, Ill.

He was a graduate of the University of Oklahoma School of Medicine in 1933. He practiced medicine in Picher, Okla., until 1953. After moving to Fort Worth in August, 1953, he practiced medicine specializing in arthritis and rheumatology until he retired in 1983. Dr. Kerr was a member of the Tarrant County Medical Society and the American Society of Clinical Hypnosis.

Dr. Kerr was a dedicated physician, loving husband and father, a member of the South Side Lions Club more than 40 years and a member of Central Christian Church.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 56 years, Genieve Garman Kerr.

Survivors: Daughter, Ellen Kerr and husband, Lee Unger; son, Walter C. Kerr Jr. and wife, Ann; grandsons, Walter C. Kerr III and wife, Anita, and David Kerr and wife, Lori, of Fort Worth; great- grandson, Walter C. Kerr IV of Fort Worth; and wonderful nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Louise L. Lawrence
FORT WORTH -- Louise L. Lawrence, 77, a homemaker, died Thursday, July 3, 1997, in Fort Worth.

Louise Lawrence was born Jan. 2, 1920, in Charleston, Miss. She was a life long Baptist.

She was preceded in death by husband of 40 years, Albert Leo Lawrence Sr.

Survivors: Sons, Robert Gray of Irving, Albert Lawrence Jr. of Fort Worth; sister and brother-in-law, Mable and John Ledford of Arlington; sister-in-law, Ruby Shastid of Fort Worth; and grandsons, Jeffrey Redding, Matthew Gray, Adam Gray and Andrew Gray, all of Irving.

Thomas C. Lemmons
FORT WORTH -- Thomas C. Lemmons, 60, a noted Fort Worth historian and teacher, died Thursday, July 3, 1997, in Fort Worth after a brief illness.

Memorial services: 10 a.m. Monday at Broadway Baptist Church of Fort Worth; and 3 p.m. Monday at Park Heights Church of Christ of Hamilton. Burial: Jewel Cemetery. Mr. Lemmons will lie in state at Greenwood Funeral Home from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Sunday.

Memorials: in lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to the Thomas C. Lemmons Scholarship Fund at Carter Riverside High School in Fort Worth, or the P.T. Lemmons Scholarship Fund, Jonesboro, Texas; or to a charity of choice.

Thomas C. Lemmons was born June 15, 1937, in Waco.

He was preceded in death by his parents, P.T. and Bess Lemmons. Mr. Lemmons grew up in Jonesboro and Hamilton and later attended Abilene Christian University, where he earned bachelors and masters of arts degrees in history.

He did post-graduate study in Africa, India and Europe. A longtime resident of Fort Worth, he taught history at Amon Carter-Riverside High School for 36 years.

Mr. Lemmons was a recipient of many awards, including being named by his peers as the Outstanding Historian for the State of Texas. He continued his studies of history and world cultures during his travels. He was was also a gifted photographer, lover of music and art and a gourmet cook.

Mr. Lemmons was a member of several historical groups, including the Civil War Round Table of Texas and the Sons of Confederate Veterans. He also served in the Army Reserves. Although he will be greatly missed by family and friends, students and fellow teachers, his love of learning, of his country and his God, live on in all those whose lives he touched.

Survivors: Lois B. Nelson, M.L. and Leslie Nelson, Kay Allen Nelson; his grandchildren, Kathryn Elizabeth Nelson and Michael L. Nelson Jr.; and numerous beloved cousins and aunts.

Jessie Wynona Matthews
ALVARADO -- Jessie Wynona Matthews, 84, a homemaker, died Thursday, July 3, 1997, at a Grandview nursing home.

Funeral: 11 a.m. Saturday at Clayton Kay Funeral Home of Alvarado. Burial: Glenwood Cemetery of Alvarado. Visitation: 5 to 7 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.

Jessie Wynona Matthews was born Sept. 4, 1912, in Alvarado. She was a longtime member of the First United Methodist Church of Alvarado. She was the daughter of Lester and Leona Stinson Hill. She was preceded in death by her husband, William Raymond Matthews, in March of 1966.

Survivors: Son, Donald Ray Matthews of El Campo; daughter, Patsy Matthews Metcalf of Alvarado; brother, Glen Hill of Fort Worth; sisters, Frankie Thames of Alvarado and Nancy Veit of California; five grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

L.S. Michael
FORT WORTH -- L.S. "Mike" Michael, 76, a retired aerospace electronics technician, died Wednesday, July 2, 1997, in Fort Worth.

L.S. "Mike" Michael was born Feb. 16, 1921, in Pikeville, Ky.

He was a resident since the late 1930s and retired from General Dynamics in the mid-1980s.

Survivors: Son and daughter-in-law, John S. Michael and his wife, Donna, of Hickory Creek; brother, William Michael of Fort Worth; and grandchildren, Steven Michael and Nathan Michael.

Linda Reed
WATAUGA -- Linda Reed, 53, a floral designer, left this life Thursday, July 3, 1997, at home.

Funeral: 11 a.m. Saturday at Haltom City Christian Church. Burial: Bluebonnet Hills Memorial Park. Visitation: 9 to 11 a.m. Saturday at the church.

Linda Reed was born April 7, 1944.

Linda was known for her service and devotion to God through others. She served as a teacher of Sunday school and special ministries through flower arrangements.

She was married on Nov. 16, 1963, and had been married for 33 1/2 years. She was a loving and devoted mother to her own three children and to many of their friends. Linda knew no stranger and welcomed all who entered her door.

Survivors: Husband, Charles G. Reed of Fort Worth; son, David Reed of Fort Worth; daughters, Sherry Grosenbach and Christy Berrier, both of Fort Worth; mother, Sammie Faye Green of Fort Worth; sisters, Mary Ann Gracy, Peggy Green and Wanda Green, all of Fort Worth; grandchildren, Candace, Brandi and Raegan Berrier, and Savannah and Makalah Grosenbach; sons-in-law, Randy Grosenbach and Dave Berrier; mother-in-law, Opal Collins; nieces and nephews; and an uncountable number of friends.
