Patsy Jeffery was born Sept. 8, 1951, in Springhill, Ark. She had lived in Batesville, Ark. before moving to Keller. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church.

She was preceded in death by father, Buddy Ballard.

Veda Knighton Johnson
FORT WORTH -- Veda Knighton Johnson, 68, a retired secretary, died Friday, July 4, 1997, at her Fort Worth home.

Graveside service: 2:30 p.m. Monday in Greenwood Memorial Park. Visitation: 5 to 7 p.m Sunday at Greenwood Funeral Home.

Veda Knighton was born Aug. 16, 1928, in Humble.

She lived in the Fort Worth area beginning in 1962, and worked as a secretary for Acme Brick Company and Moncrief Oil Company for several years. In later years she was a store manager for Circle K Convenience Stores and was very devoted to her family.

Survivors: Son and daughter-in-law, Kenneth C. and Betty Stringer of Fort Worth; sister, Bettie Phillips of Houston; sisters and brothers-in-law, Jane and Barney Jones, Jeannie and Dale Renken, all of Fort Worth; grandchildren, Jay Eric Stringer, Sunny Rachelle Stringer, both of Fort Worth; and great- grandchild, J. Ridge Stringer of Fort Worth.

Clemonce Beatrice Jones
FORT WORTH -- Clemonce Beatrice Jones, 93, a retired governess, died Tuesday, July 1, 1997, at a local hospital.

Funeral: noon Monday at Baker Funeral Home. Burial: Cedar Hill Memorial Park. Visitation: noon to 9 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.

Clemonce Beatrice Jones was born Feb. 28, 1907, in Fort Worth.

She was the beloved daughter of Mary B. White and grew up in Fort Worth. She attended I.M. Terrell High School and Mary Allen Seminary. She married William McKinley Jones in 1935 and settled in Lake Como as active pioneers in the development of that community. She was an excellent piano teacher and loyal member of Cheatums Delight Chapter 241, Order of Eastern Star and Wayside Church of God in Christ.

In addition to her community work, she was a loyal employee of the John L. Paxton family.

She was preceded in death by her husband in 1970.

Survivors: Grandson, Dwayne Sherman; nephews, Orville W. Dale and Rollice E. Dale; niece, Sandra W. Wyman; and an extended family of friends whose love for her is unlimited.

Elsie R. June was born Nov. 28, 1931, in Holt, Fla.

Keith Hayes Kahle
FORT WORTH -- Keith Hayes Kahle, 87, a retired airline owner, died Friday, July 4, 1997, in Fort Worth.

Funeral: 11 a.m. Monday at Travis Avenue Baptist Church. Entombment: Greenwood Mausoleum. Visitation: 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday.

Pallbearers: Bob Buzard, Fred Hodge, George Jaggers, Phil Jordan, Max Lale, Mark McLaughlin, Burgess Sealy, Lee West and Jim Wright.

Honorary pallbearers: former employees of Central Airlines.

Memorials: Fort Worth Garden Club, University of Oklahoma Athletic Scholarship Fund; or James West Presbyterian Care Center.

Keith Hayes Kahle was born Sept. 25, 1909, in Sistersville, W. Va. to Dr. Charles Edgar and Elizabeth Blanch Kahle and was reared in his beloved Oklahoma in Dunwright, Norman and Oklahoma City.

Keith will be remembered by those who knew him and those who just met him as a man with a smile, a handshake and a "hello friend." Combining a lifetime love of journalism and aviation, Keith began his career as an aviation columnist for `The Daily Oklahoman' and as publisher of a newsletter he called `The Taxi Strip' . During one summer, he worked on the dirigibles Akron and Macon. He graduated from Iowa State University in 1932 with a bachelor of science in mechanical engineering and minors in industrial management and journalism. Keith was a member of Beta Theta Pi and Sigma Delta Chi Journalism fraternity. He was also editor of his college's annual and the engineering school's magazine. He proudly served as a major in the Civil Air Patrol during World War II.

With diligence and guidance from his friends, Tom Braniff and C.R. Smith, Keith developed, owned and operated Central Airlines. The airline flew to six states, initially from Meacham Field and, later, from Greater Southwest Airport. In 1964, it merged with Frontier Airlines to become Continental Airlines. He was always so proud of the company, its staff and its perfect flight record.

In 1955, he associated with LTV Aerospace and exhibited the XC-142 Turbo- Prop at the Paris Air Show and assisted in the development of the Air Trans System at DFW International Airport. He recently retired from ElectroCom where he served as advisor to company president, and personal friend, Bob Buzard.

In 1982, he was inducted into the Oklahoma Aviation Hall of Fame where Central Airlines memorabilia is on exhibition. His personal papers, photographs and daily journals are in the special archival collection at the University of Texas at Arlington. Keith was an avid University of Oklahoma football fan, greeting the team 44 consecutive years into the Metroplex for the annual Texas- -OU game. He was an honorary member of the "O" Club and Touchdown Club.

Mr. Kahle was preceded in death by his former wife, Betty Alexander Kahle.

George Koenig Jr.
FORT WORTH -- George Koenig Jr., 74, a retired aeronautical engineer, died Thursday, July 3, 1997, in Fort Worth.

Funeral:2 p.m. Monday at Laurel Land Memorial Chapel in Fort Worth. Burial: Laurel Land Memorial Park. Visitation: 6 to 9 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.

Memorials: Tabernacle Lodge No. 1195 AF&AM, or a charity of choice. Mr. Koenig was born Aug. 6, 1922, in Waelder, son of George and Eddye Tomlinson Koenig. He married Dorothy Louise Mason on April 27, 1946, in Fort Worth. George and Dorothy moved to Fort Worth, where he worked for General Dynamics for 27 years in aeronautical engineering.

Dorothy and George joined Englewood Methodist Church in 1948, where he served as the first president of the Men's Club and also worked on various committees. George and Dorothy were members there for 22 years before transferring their membership to Wedgewood Methodist Church. Later, they joined Westcliff Methodist Church, where they were still members. George was a member of the Friendship Class, Men's Club and was active in various church activities.

George was truly an exemplary Mason. His Masonic career began in 1956 as a member of Tabernacle Lodge No. 1195. As Worshipful Master during 1986 and 1987, his goal setting gained him the respect of Masons throughout the 64th District. He served as High Priest and Thrice Illustrious Master of Hemphill Heights Chapter and Council. He received the Super Excellent Master degree and received the Order of High Priesthood and Order of the Silver Trowel awards. George was also a member of Southside Commandery No. 83 and Moslah Shrine. As a 32nd-degree Mason and charter member of Fort Worth Valley Scottish Rite, he worked on the 24, 29, and 31st-degree team. George was given the Golden Trowel Award by Tabernacle Lodge No. 1195 in 1992. He also served as Worthy Patron of Polytechnic Chapter No. 420, OES. He was Chapter Dad of Handley Chapter Order of Demolay and was Governor of District 7 Order of Demolay.

George served his country with honors during World War II in the European Theater. As a member of the Ninth Air Force, 881 Air Engineering Squadron, he was stationed in England, France and Germany, where he attained the rank of technical sergeant. George served from 1942 to 1946.

Koenig of Fort Worth; sons and daughters-in-law, Allen and Pam Koenig of Fort Worth, Don Koenig of Franklin, Tenn. and Norman and Lisa Koenig of Saginaw; daughters and sons-in-law, Dona and Ron Ernst of Watauga and Doris Smith of Fort Worth; brothers and sisters-in- law, William and Charlene Koenig of California, and Laurence and Jean Koenig of Hempstead; eight grandchildren; and one great-granddaughter.

Thomas C. Lemmons
FORT WORTH -- Thomas C. Lemmons, 60, a noted Fort Worth historian and teacher, died Thursday, July 3, 1997, in Fort Worth after a brief illness.

Memorial services: 10 a.m. Monday at Broadway Baptist Church of Fort Worth; and 3 p.m. Monday at Park Heights Church of Christ of Hamilton. Burial: Jonesboro Cemetery near Hamilton. Mr. Lemmons will lie in state at Greenwood Funeral Home from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Sunday.

Memorials: in lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to the Thomas C. Lemmons Scholarship Fund at Carter Riverside High School in Fort Worth, or the P.T. Lemmons Scholarship Fund, Jonesboro, Texas; or to a charity of choice.

Thomas C. Lemmons was born June 15, 1937, in Waco.

He was preceded in death by his parents, P.T. and Bess Lemmons. Mr. Lemmons grew up in Jonesboro and Hamilton and later attended Abilene Christian University, where he earned bachelors and masters of arts degrees in history.

He did post-graduate study in Africa, India and Europe. A longtime resident of Fort Worth, he taught history at Amon Carter-Riverside High School for 36 years.

Mr. Lemmons was a recipient of many awards, including being named by his peers as the Outstanding Historian for the State of Texas. He continued his studies of history and world cultures during his travels. He was an avid collector of books, coins and historic artifacts. He was also a gifted photographer, lover of music and art and a gourmet cook.

Mr. Lemmons was a member of several historical groups, including the Civil War Round Table of Texas and the Sons of Confederate Veterans. He also served in the Army Reserves. Although he will be greatly missed by family and friends, students and fellow teachers, his love of learning, of his country and his God, live on in all those whose lives he touched.

Survivors: Lois B. Nelson, M.L. and Leslie Nelson, Kay Allen Nelson; his grandchildren, Kathryn Elizabeth Nelson and Michael L. Nelson Jr.; and numerous beloved cousins and aunts.

Frank James Lewis
FORT WORTH -- Brother Frank James Lewis, Sr., 78, a retired machinist, died Thursday, July 3, 1997, at a local hospital.

Mr. Lewis was born Dec. 25, 1918 in Palestine.

FORT WORTH -- Howell Walter "Bo" Little, 66, a retired LTV maintenance employee, died Saturday, July 5, 1997, at a North Richland Hills hospital.

Howell Little was born Sept. 4, 1930, in Dallas.

Josie Cisneros Lopez
YERINGTON, Nev. -- Josie Cisneros Lopez, 37, a teacher, died Monday, June 23, 1997, at a Reno hospital.

Funeral: 9:30 a.m. Wednesday at Mount Olivet Funeral Home. Pastor Vince Szymkowiak will officiate. Burial: Mount Olivet Cemetery. Rosary: 7 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.

Josie Cisneros Lopez was born Dec. 10, 1959, in Fort Worth.

She was en route to the hospital to deliver her baby boy, Victor Gabriel Acosta II, when both were killed due to an automobile accident six miles north of Yerington, Nev.

Josie was the first born child of Ramon and JoAnn Cisneros of Fort Worth after losing a baby boy, Little Ray Cisneros Jr., who was stillborn in April, 1958.

Josie was a 1978 Trimble Tech graduate whose accomplishments in her senior year included being a member of the annual staff, the student body historian, Student Government Council, Allied Youth officer and Future Teachers of America. She was a member of the Spanish Club, Office Education Association, the Science Club and the Trimble Tech Band for four years. She was elected senior class favorite, 2nd- runner-up and homecoming court duchess.

After high school, Josie attended New Mexico State University. She was a teacher at Yerington Elementary School where she taught English as a second language to all ages. Principal John Prida and Juan Salinas conducted a memorial service for Josie on Monday, June 30, 1997.

"If Josie ever had a bad day, (I) never knew it," Prida said.

All the staff expressed their deep love and sympathy, saying it was a big loss to the school.

Survivors: Fiance', Victor Gabriel Acosta of Las Cruces, N.M.; son, Carlos Eric Lopez of Las Cruces; parents, Ramon "Ray" Cisneros and his wife, JoAnn Cisneros, of Fort Worth; brother, Ernest Cisneros and his wife, Isabel Cisneros, of Fort Worth; sisters, Ramona Cisneros Ramirez and her husband, Ernest Ramirez, of Fort Worth and Victoria Cisneros Reyes and her husband, Anthony D. Reyes, of Fort Worth; ex- husband, Carlos J. Lopez of Las Cruces; nephews and nieces, Ernest Michael Ramirez, Ernest Ray Cisneros, Steven Anthony Ramirez, Mark Andrew Ramirez, Celeste Elena Cisneros, Cassandra Jo Cisneros and Julia Victoria Reyes, all of Fort Worth; uncles, Manuel Cisneros and Richard Vasquez, both of Fort Worth; aunts, Maria Lozano and Maura Barron, both of Fort Worth, Rosie Hernandez of Plaquemine, La. and Frances Hernandez, Andrea Padilla and Marie Dolores Cisneros, all of Fort Worth; and numerous cousins and friends who all loved her.

She will be greatly missed.

FORT WORTH -- Hugh D. Miller, 65, a retired truck driver, died Wednesday, July 2, 1997, at a medical center.

Mr. Miller was born May 25, 1932, in Petersburg. He served 21 years in the Navy. He retired from H.B. Zachary Construction Co.

Survivors: Sons, William D. Miller of Fort Worth and Michael Wayne Miller of Knoxville, Tenn.; daughter, Cynthia Hoffman of Austin; brother, Clyde Miller of Guymon, Okla.; and four grandchildren.
