Funeral: 2 p.m. Friday at Laurel Land Funeral Home of Fort Worth. Burial: Laurel Land Memorial Park of Fort Worth.

Memorials: Moslah Shrine Burn Center.

Gary T. Simpson was born Oct. 24, 1944, in Fort Worth. He was a member of Directors Unit of Moslah Shrine.

Survivors: Wife, Kathy Simpson of Burleson; son and daughter-in-law, James L. and Vicki Simpson of Fort Worth; daughter and son-in-law, Cynthia L. and Danny Blackburn of Fort Worth; brother and sister-in-law, Ron and Carolyn Simpson of Arlington; grandchildren, Leah Simpson, Joshua Simpson and Terri Lynn Taylor; niece, Kelly Stokes; and nephew, Darin Simpson.

Ferral "Moon" Snider
WHITE SETTLEMENT -- Ferral "Moon" Snider, 64, a retired office machine repairman, died Tuesday, July 8, 1997, at his home after a four-year battle with prostate cancer.

Funeral: 10 a.m. Friday at Solid Rock Baptist Church. Officiating: the Rev. Tommy Adams. Burial: Laurel Land Memorial Park.

Bearers of the casket will be Douglas Finch, Louis Hatchell, Gene Hicks, George Smith, Fred Thelford and Charles Whitmire. Honorary bearers will be Don Corley, Bobby Ferrell, Ray Fleming, B.D. Griffin, Richard Leach, Jack Malone, Charles Mask, Bill Medlin, Bill Phillips, Harvey "Woodie" Woods and Lon Young.

Memorials: In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Community Hospice of Texas, 1000 Summit Ave., Fort Worth, or to a charity of choice.

Ferral "Moon" Snider was born March 4, 1933, in Antelope, Texas. Moon served in the U.S. Navy. He retired from the office machine repair business after 34 years. He was a Baptist by faith. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and gardening. He boxed while serving in the Navy, winning many trophies, including All-Navy Bantamweight and Runner-up All Services. He was chosen Outstanding Boxer of the Atlantic Fleet and received the Jack Kennedy Award. He boxed many years in the Fort Worth Star- Telegram Golden Gloves, where he won many trophies. He was the state runner- up twice and Texas state featherweight champion in 1956.

Moon rode bareback, horses and bulls in the R.C.A. circuit. He was a member of American Legion Post No. 297, where he spent many hours playing dominoes.

Survivors: Wife of 42 years, Tommie Ruth Snider of White Settlement; son, Lewis Snider of Fort Worth; daughter and son-in-law, Lori and John Laird of White Settlement; grandchildren, Krystal Snider of Benbrook and Justin Laird of White Settlement; and his faithful dog, Spot.

Willard Sutton
GATESVILLE -- Willard Sutton, 78, a retired railroad conductor for AT&SF Railway, died Sunday, July 6, 1997, at a Temple hospital.

Funeral: 10 a.m. Friday at Higginbotham Funeral Home in Gorman. Burial: Murray Cemetery. Visitation: 8 to 10 a.m.

Willard Sutton was born Aug. 6, 1918, in Carbon.

He was a former resident of Gorman.

Leslie Thetford Sr.
GRANBURY -- Leslie "Sonny" Thetford Sr., 63, a retired electrician, died Wednesday, July 9, 1997, at a Granbury hospital.

Funeral: 11 a.m. Saturday at Wiley Funeral Home in Granbury.

Leslie Thetford Sr. was born Feb. 2, 1934, in Panola Parrish, Miss.

He served in the U.S. Navy and was a member of VFW No. 8911 in Fort Worth. He was also a member of I.B.E.W. Union No. 116. He had been a resident of Granbury since 1986. He married Judeene Mart on March 8, 1953, in Columbus, Ga. He was a loving husband and father.

Survivors: Wife, Judeene Thetford of Granbury; son and daughter-in-law, Leslie Allen Jr. and Cindy Thetford of Arlington; daughters and sons-in-law, Linda and James Blain of Fort Worth and Tammy and Kenneth McNabb of Watagua; brother-in-law, Jerry Moore of Springtown; and eight grandchildren.

SANGER -- Ollie Loyd Tipton, 90, a retired custodian, died Wednesday, July 9, 1997, at a Denton hospital.

Ollie Loyd Tipton was born Feb. 1, 1907, in Oklahoma. He was preceded in death by his wife, Izora McCool Tipton.

Survivors: Daughters, Louise Wade of Pottsboro, Bobbie Wylie of Forestburg and Polly Tucker of Sanger; sons, Thomas Tipton of Sanger and Sam Tipton of Forestburg; sisters, Bertha Underwood and Myrtle Walls, both of Nocona; 19 grandchildren; 39 great- grandchildren; and three great-great- grandchildren.

Julio G. Vasquez was born March 24, 1934, in Brownsville and had lived in Fort Worth since 1970.

He was a devoted husband, father, brother and friend.

Survivors: Wife, Eudelia Vasquez of Fort Worth; daughters, Lydia Carranza, Leticia Vasquez, Lorraine Vasquez and Lee Ann Vasquez, all of Fort Worth; brothers and sisters, Estella, Enerique, Santos, Minda, Mary, Delia, Anita, Jose, Ernesto, Rene, Lupita, Belinda and Ricardo; grandchildren, Jason, Jacob, Andrea and Selena Carranza and Cayman Griggs; and many, many nieces, nephews and friends.

Sengchanh Vilaysane
EULESS -- Sengchanh Vilaysane, 40, a caterer, died Monday, July 7, 1997, at a Fort Worth hospital.

Sengchanh Vilaysane was born Dec. 5, 1956, in Laos.

She was an area resident for 12 years and a member of Springdale Baptist Church. She worked for Dobbs House at DFW International Airport.

Survivors: Children, Vickie Vilaysane and Tony Vilaysane; a brother in Laos; sisters, Chan Mun Luang and Thongsy Sengsavanh; cousins, Joe Ratsdakhom and Seven Khongsavath; brother-in-law, Chong Kin Jiu; and nephew, Ju Meng Jiu.

James N. Walraven
MANSFIELD -- James N. Walraven, 57, a Continental Airlines captain, died Wednesday, July 9, 1997, in Mansfield.

James N. Walraven was born Oct. 14, 1939, in Texarkana, Texas. He had been a pilot for Continental Airlines since 1966.

Mr. Walraven was a member of Mansfield Masonic Lodge 331, Scottish Rite Mason of Fort Worth and First Christian Church of Arlington.

Survivors: His wife, Dee Walraven of Mansfield; sons and their wives, Stephen Walraven and Kim of Arlington, Larry Walraven and Sharon of Laguna Niguel, Calif., and Eric Walraven and Angela of Lubbock; mother, Claudie Mae Walraven of Texarkana; brother, Alan Walraven and his wife, Sheryle, and their family of Venus; grandchildren, Kathryn, Megan, Sarah, Andrew, James and Emily; and the family of Linda and Bill Barnett.

Nina Mae Warren
FORT WORTH -- Nina Mae Warren, 59, a laundry worker for the Parkview Nursing Facility, died Thursday, July 10, 1997, at a nursing center.

Nina Mae Warren was born Sept. 9, 1937, in Kearns. He lived in Fort Worth for 45 years and was a member of the Word of God Tabernacle.

Survivors: Brother, Frank Warren of Fort Worth; sisters, Eddie Mae Jones, Lucinda Clayborn, Willie Pearl Warren and Mae Emma Warren, all of Fort Worth; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends.

Richard Weirus
COLLEGE STATION -- Richard "Buck" Weirus, 76, a retired Army colonel, passed away Tuesday, July 8, 1997, in College Station.

Memorial service: was Thursday at A&M Methodist Church in College Station. Graveside service: 9:30 a.m. Friday at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery with full military honors.

Memorials: may be made to Richard "Buck" Weirus Memorial Fund of Texas A&M Association of Former Students or A&M Methodist Church of College Station.

Richard Weirus retired as executive director of the Former Students Association at Texas A&M University.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 42 years, Claire Fox Weirus, and daughters, Barbara Lynn Weirus and Madeline Weirus Parsons.

Survivors: Daughter, Dianna Weirus Burke and her husband, Ozzie, of Bryan; son-in-law, Douglas Parsons and his wife, Karen, of Fort Worth; grandchildren, Holly Burke, Ross Burke, Virginia Parsons and Madeline Parson; sister, Emma Gocker of San Antonio; sister-in-law, MemCunningham of Dallas; and cousins.

Caryl Murphy Wesley
FORT WORTH -- Caryl Murphy Wesley, 90, a homemaker, died Wednesday, July 9, 1997, at a Fort Worth hospital.

Visitation: Friends may call after 1 p.m. Friday and until 9 p.m. Saturday at Thompson's Harveson & Cole Funeral Home, where she will lie in state.

Caryl Murphy Wesley was born Aug. 31, 1906, in Independence, Kan., to Anna and S.K. Murphy. She had resided in Fort Worth for over six years at Broadway Plaza.

Caryl married Verne E. Wesley on Aug. 1, 1936, in Columbus, Mo., and were married 54 years when he preceded her in death. They retired to Pleasanton, Texas, after living in the southern and eastern United States and Australia, where Mr. Wesley's civil engineering jobs with Humble Oil and Hudson Engineering took them.

She was a member of First Christian Church in Independence, Kan.

Survivors: Daughters, Nancy W. Boddie and her husband, Lee, of Fort Worth and Patricia W. Fay and her husband, Donald, of Dallas; and grandchildren, Carolyn Jane Fay, Catherine Anne Fay, Melissa Boddie and Wesley Boddie.

Iva H. Wilson was born Feb. 18, 1920, in Shannon.

Survivors: Son, Alfred Alton Self of Antelope; daughters, Fay Hix, Thelma O. Reeder, Wanda Brown and Etta Plumlee, all of Fort Worth, and Shirley Trevino of Lake Worth; sisters, Velma Grulich of River Oaks and Jewel Farless of Shannon; 16 grandchildren; and numerous great-grandchildren.
