FORT WORTH -- Edna Grace Whitehurst Garnett, 83, a retired registered nurse and former chief nurse at Harris Hospital, died Thursday, July 11, 1997, in Fort Worth.

Graveside service: 10 a.m. Monday in Greenwood Memorial Park. Dr. Charles Sanders will officiate. Visitation: 3 to 5 p.m. Sunday at Thompson's Harveson & Cole.

Memorials: Granville T. and Earline Walker Ministerial Scholarship Foundation at University Christian Church.

Edna Grace Whitehurst Garnett was born Aug. 6, 1913, in Gordon, Ga., and had resided in Fort Worth since 1937. She graduated from Vanderbilt University School of Nursing in 1934. She was a member of University Christian Church, Junior Women's Club, Senior Women's Club and the Dinner Dance Club.

She was the widow of John Wilson Garnett Jr., M.D.

Survivors: Sons, John W. Garnett III, D.D.S., and his wife, Nancy, and Richard E. Garnett, Ph.D., and his wife, Susan, all of Fort Worth; daughter, Mary Kathryn Garnett of Macon, Ga.; and five grandchildren.

Alfred Emil Gram
BENBROOK -- Alfred Emil Gram, 78, who had worked in marketing for KXOL Radio, died Sunday, July 6, 1997, at his home.

Alfred Emil Gram was born Oct. 29, 1918, in St. Louis, Mo. He was a member of Connell Baptist Church; the Advertising Club of Fort Worth, which he served as secretary and treasurer; and the Glen Garden Country Club. He was a former member of the Fort Worth Lions Club. Mr. Gram was a World War II veteran.

Survivors: His wife of 52 years, Nell Gram of Benbrook; son, Alan Gram of Benbrook; brother, Carl Gram of St. Louis, Mo.; and granddaughter, Jessica Gram of Fort Worth.

FORT WORTH -- Bertha Hannah Salsberg Harris, 77, a homemaker, died Friday morning, July 11, 1997, at home.

Bertha Salsberg Harris, a native and lifelong resident of Fort Worth, was preceded in death by her husband, retired Air Force Staff Sgt. Joe Harris, in 1988. She was the daughter of the late Morrie and Sadie Fox Salsberg. Mrs. Harris was a member of Beth-El Congregation.

Survivors: Son, Larry R. Harris of Fort Worth; brother-in-law, Melvin Caldwell of Lake Worth; and nephew, Rodney Caldwell.

Nathan Paul Hill was born March 9, 1993, in Omaha, Neb. He touched many lives during his short visit with us. We were blessed to have been chosen to love and care for him. The world became a better place because of Nathan and we will carry him with us forever.

FORT WORTH -- Leving Delma Holland, 91, a fireman, died Wednesday, July 9, 1997, in Fort Worth.

Leving Delma Holland was born Jan. 2, 1906, in Attala County, Miss. He moved to Texas in 1951 and worked for General Dynamics for many years.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 51 years, Margaret Holland, and two sons, Marion Holland and Johnny Holland.

Survivors: Sons, William Holland of California, Ray Holland of Texas, Roy Holland of Idaho, Lloyd Holland and Larry Holland, both of Texas, and Kenneth Holland of Colorado; daughters, Estelle Gilmore, Patricia Taylor, Nell Boyd, Jane Burton, Lynn Engasser, Margaret Holland and Martha Turner, all of Texas, and Linda Shackelford of Ohio; two brothers; four sisters; 16 grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren.

Victor "Vic" Holland
FORT WORTH -- Victor "Vic" Holland, 74, a supervisor who retired from General Dynamics in 1990 after 48 years, died Thursday, July 10, 1997, at a local hospital.

Funeral: 1:30 p.m. Saturday at Shannon Rose Hill Funeral Chapel. Burial: Shannon Rose Hill Memorial Park.

Victor "Vic" Holland was born May 18, 1923, in Limestone County. He was a charter member of King of Glory Lutheran Church and was a member of Handley Masonic Lodge No. 1140. He served in the Navy during World War II in San Diego, where he married his wife of 54 years, Ouida. They celebrated their anniversary yearly with their friends Nina and Leon Miller.

He was preceded in death by a brother, J.R. Holland, and a sister, Lila Mae Gauntt.

Survivors: Wife of 54 years, Ouida Holland; daughters, Barbara Basham, Glenda Appleby and Vicki Nichols, all of Fort Worth; brother, Luther L. Holland of Alba; sister, Vanita Hulse of Waco; six grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Birdie Jeane was born Feb. 13, 1932, in Fairview, Ky. She had lived in the Fort Worth area for 27 years.

Oleta Kell was born Nov. 1, 1911, in Collinsville, Grayson County. She came to Fort Worth as a young lady and attended Fort Worth schools. She graduated from Central High School, now Paschal. She married Thomas Kell Jr. and in 1932 she and Mr. Kell started the Kell Cleaners with the initial investment of a $5 gold piece. She retired in 1978. Mrs. Kell was for many years a member of Handley Church of Christ and the Handley Chapter of the Order of the Eastern Star.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Kell Jr.

Survivors: Son and daughter-in-law, Jack T. and Elaine Kell of Arlington; sister, Audrey Pollock of Salt Lake City, Utah; grandsons, Kevin Kell and Kent Kell and his wife, Laura, all of Fort Worth; and great-granddaughters, Shelby Kell and Shaye Kell, both of Fort Worth.

Eloise Killian was born April 16, 1917, in Holdrege, Neb. She was a Methodist and had resided in Tarrant County for 50 years. She was employed in sales for 27 years at Monnig's Department Store. Her hobby was reading. She was loved and admired by her family and friends.

Survivors: Son, Robert Reames and daughter-in-law, Donna, of North Richland Hills; stepson, Mike Killian of Lewisville; stepdaughter, Ruth Massie of Watauga; granddaughter, Robin Scarborough of North Richland Hills; great- grandchildren, Brandon and Jared Scarborough; four stepgrandchildren; one great-grandson; and close cousin, Don Clutts of Oklahoma City, Okla.
