Floyd E. McGinness
FORT WORTH -- Floyd E. McGinness, 80, a retired electrical engineer, died Wednesday, July 9, 1997, in Fort Worth.

Funeral: 11 a.m. Saturday at Thompson's Harveson & Cole. The Rev. John Hennessy will officiate. Burial: Laurel Land Memorial Park.

Honorary pallbearers: Robert Chandler, Dr. John Hennessy, Robert Judd, Donald McGinness, Perry Raybuck and Frank L. Uhl.

Floyd E. McGinness was born Dec. 16, 1916, in Lincoln, Kan.

He was a graduate of the University of Colorado at Boulder and was a member of the University of Colorado Alumni Association. He served in the Army during World War II in the European campaign at the Battle of the Bulge. He was a resident of Edgecliff Village for more than 40 years and a member of Edgecliff Fellowship.

He retired after 35 years of service with Texas Electric Service Co.

Mr. McGinness was preceded in death by his wife, Louise Catherine Lane McGinness, who was secretary- treasurer of Edgecliff Village Association at the time of her death.

Survivors: Son, James Robert McGinness and his wife, Lisa, of Houston; daughters, Linda Ross and her husband, John, of Houston and Kathleen Ann Stephens and her husband, Jim, of Commerce; brother, Donald Brown McGinness of Independence, Kan.; grandchildren, John Chandler McGinness, James Griffin McGinness, William Lane McGinness, Amelia Suzan Ross and Sean Ryan Stephens; and nieces and nephews.

Robert Carrol McPherson
FORT WORTH -- Robert Carrol McPherson, 85, a retired aerospace industry assembler, died Friday, July 11, 1997, in Fort Worth.

Funeral: 2 p.m. Monday at First Baptist Church of White Settlement. Burial: Greenwood Memorial Park. Visitation: 3 to 4:30 p.m. Sunday at Greenwood Funeral Home.

Robert McPherson was born Nov. 4, 1911, in Erath County. He retired from General Dynamics in 1973 after 31 years of service. He was a member of First Baptist Church of White Settlement and was a deacon and Sunday school teacher for over 50 years. He was a woodworker and a gardener.

He was preceded in death by his brother, Bill McPherson, in May 1996.

Survivors: Wife of 58 years, Nadine Burnett McPherson of Fort Worth; daughters, Linda Inscho and her husband, Robert, of Milpitas, Calif., and Georgia McDonald and her husband, Robert, of Plano; sisters, Ruth Duzan of Odessa and Mary Lemley of Richardson; five grandchildren; and seven great- grandchildren.

Survivors: Wife of 52 years, Ruth Dyer Mills; brother-in-law, Rex Dyer; nieces, Sharon Cox and Cathy Dyer; and numerous cousins.

Lena Morris
RIO VISTA -- Lena Morris, 71, a custodian at the Rio Vista school, died Thursday, July 10, 1997, at home.

Funeral: 4 p.m. Saturday at First Baptist Church of Rio Vista. Burial: Rio Vista Cemetery.

Lena Morris was born Dec. 14, 1925, in McLennan County.

She had lived in Rio Vista for 37 years.

Survivors: Son, Donald Morris of Rio Vista; daughters, Ruby Dollar and Earlene Tidwell, both of Rio Vista; seven grandchildren; and 13 great- grandchildren.

GRAND PRAIRIE -- Leda Madeline Neitzel, 7, a student at Dunn Elementary in Arlington, died Thursday, July 10, 1997, at a Dallas hospital.

Funeral: 10 a.m. Monday at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Grand Prairie. Burial: Parkdale Cemetery in Arlington. Visitation: 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday.

Leda Madeline Neitzel was born Aug. 5, 1989, in Grand Prairie.

Survivors: Mother, Michelle Neitzel; father, Kip Rhodes; brother, Jakob Rhodes; sister, Kendra Neitzel; grandparents, Brenda and Dennis Neitzel and Donald and Laverne Rhodes; and numerous other relatives.

James Edward Patty was born Nov. 23, 1920, in Sulphur Bluff, Texas. He was a World War II Army veteran. He retired from GD in 1962. He moved to Vancouver in 1990.

Survivors: Sons, James Patty of Crowley and John Patty of Weatherford; daughters, Roberta Malone of Watauga and Mary Short of Vancouver, Wash.; brothers, Tom Patty of Carlsbad, N.M., and Bill Patty of Yukon, Okla.; sister, Rea Caffey of Lubbock; and seven grandchildren.

Charles Smith was born Sept. 15, 1936, in Fort Worth. He served in the U.S. Air Force from February 1953 to October 1956. He worked as a barber in Fort Worth, Dallas, and other areas of the Metroplex. Mr. Smith was a Baptist.

Survivors: Wife, Joenett Smith of Springtown; son, Mike Smith of Saginaw; daughters, Donna Fanning of Artesia, N.M., and Summer Smith of Springtown; stepson, Buddy Hewitt of Oregon; stepdaughter, Kerrie Kelly of Saginaw; six grandchildren; mother, Opal Othell Smith of Benbrook; and sister, Marquerita Barron of Benbrook.

Booker T. Turner
MIDLAND -- Booker T. Turner, 89, died Thursday, June 12, 1997, at his home following a lengthy illness.

Funeral was June 17 at Macedonia Baptist Church in Midland. The Rev. Boley Dunn officiated. Burial was June 18 in Cedar Hill Memorial Park in Fort Worth.

Booker T. Turner was born June 17, 1907, in Omaha, Texas, to Tommy and Annie Westone Turner. Mr. Turner united with Union Chapel Baptist Church of Omaha at an early age and later moved to Fort Worth, where he united with Pilgrim Valley Baptist Church and served on the deacon board. Mr. Turner retired from KFJZ-TV and radio station in Fort worth after 32 years of service. He moved to Midland three years ago from Fort Worth.

Mr. Turner was preceded in death by his parents and his wife, Eva Hall Turner.

Survivors: Sisters, Mrs. Juanita Bradley of Midland and Mrs. Dorothy Hunter and Mrs. Goldie McCaleb of Los Angeles; brothers, James Turner of Amarillo, Robert Turner of Los Angeles, Frank Turner of Midland and Major Turner of Dallas; and a host of friends and relatives.

FORT WORTH -- Julio G. Vasquez, 63, a retired bindery foreman, died Tuesday, July 8, 1997, at a Fort Worth hospital.

Funeral: 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Mary of the Assumption Catholic Church. Burial: Greenwood Memorial Park.

Julio G. Vasquez was born March 24, 1934, in Brownsville and had lived in Fort Worth since 1970.

He was a devoted husband, father, brother and friend.

Survivors: Wife, Eudelia Vasquez of Fort Worth; daughters, Lydia Carranza, Leticia Vasquez, Lorraine Vasquez and Lee Ann Vasquez, all of Fort Worth; brothers and sisters, Estella, Enerique, Santos, Minda, Mary, Delia, Anita, Jose, Ernesto, Rene, Lupita, Belinda and Ricardo; grandchildren, Jason, Jacob, Andrea and Selena Carranza and Cayman Griggs; and many, many nieces, nephews and friends.
