Frances Anne Farmer
FORT WORTH -- Frances Anne Farmer, 76, a homemaker and beloved mother and grandmother, died Friday, July 18, 1997, at a local hospital.

Mass of Christian burial: 10 a.m. Tuesday at St. Mary of the Assumption Catholic Church. Burial: Private at Greenwood Cemetery of Weatherford. Visitation: 6 to 9 p.m. Sunday at the residence of Mr. and Mrs. Mike McConnell.

Frances Farmer was born May 17, 1921, in Detroit, Mich. She worked for Packard Motor Co., until World War II, when she served in the Women's Army Air Corps. She married Air Force Captain Bob Lukeman in 1946. They had three children and moved to Fort Worth in 1951. In 1961, she married John Marsh Farmer, from a pioneer Parker County ranching and farming family. They lived and farmed in Dell City from 1971 to 1985.

She was preceded in death by her brother, James Drennan of Redford Township, Mich., sister, Mary Drennan of Detroit, and her husband of 29 years, John Marsh Farmer of Dell City and Parker County. She was a member of the Dell City Chamber of Commerce and on the staff of the Hudspeth County Herald.

Survivors: Sons and daughters-in- law, Robert P. Lukeman Jr. and Robyn of Fort Worth and John Marsh Farmer Jr. and Ellen of Henderson, Ky.; daughters and sons-in-law, Patricia Anne and Michael McConnell of Fort Worth, Christine Ellen and Lloyd Weinstein of Tarzana, Calif., and Kathryn Anne and Jim Calhoun Jr. of Fort Worth; daughter, Kitty Farmer of Friday Harbour, Wash.; and grandchildren, Kevin and Monique McConnell, Ryan and Colin McConnell, Taylor Mosher, Sara, Jim III and Clint Calhoun, Claire and Robert P. Lukeman III and Jacob and Natalie Farmer.

FORT WORTH -- Alma Ruth Hornsby, 72, a secretary, died Saturday, July 19, 1997, at an Arlington hospital.

Funeral: 11 a.m. Tuesday at Oak Hill Presbyterian Church. Burial: Shannon Rose Hill Memorial Park. Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m. Monday.

Alma Hornsby was born Dec. 6, 1924, in Temple.

She had been a Fort Worth resident since 1951. She was the past president of Desk and Derrick Club, and a member since 1962. She was a member of the Fandango Dance Club. She was an ordained elder at Oak Hill Presbyterian Church.

Survivors: Husband of 50 years, Odell Hornsby of Fort Worth; daughter, Joe Cantwell of Fort Worth; grandsons, Kenneth Wayne Hornsby, Walter O. Hornsby, Michael Cantwell; granddaughter, Cindy Cantwell, all of Fort Worth; three great-grandsons, and one great-granddaughter.

Jurene Epps Hudson
FORT WORTH -- Jurene Epps Hudson, 77, a retired bookkeeper, died Thursday, July 17, 1997, at an area nursing home.

Memorial service: 2 p.m. Tuesday at First United Methodist Church. Burial: Shannon Rose Hill Memorial Park.

Jurene Epps Hudson was born Sept. 11, 1919, in Turnersville.

She was a member of First United Methodist Church (Fidelity Class) and Eastern Star.

She was preceded in death by her husbands, Sam Lee and Jack M. Hudson.

Survivors: Son, Barry L. Hudson and his wife, Bobbye Jo, of Fort Worth; daughter, Rhoni Baker and her husband, Ben, of North Richland Hills; sisters-in- law, Frances Hudson of Fort Worth, Dana Garrison of Lakewood, Colo. and Ilah Mae Caudle of Oakland, Calif.; grandsons, Jacoby Hall and Nathan Hall, both of North Richland Hills; and granddaughters, Jocelyn Hudson and Camille Hudson, both of Fort Worth.

Robert Edwin Kay
FORT WORTH -- Robert Edwin Kay, 78, a retired Air Force veteran, died Wednesday, July 16, 1997, at a Fort Worth hospital.

Robert Kay was born Aug. 30, 1918, in Electra, Texas.

He was a graduate of Electra High School and retired from the Air Force after 30 years. He was a prisoner of war for 3 1/2 years in Japan and the Philippines. He was a 51-year member of Electra Masonic Lodge 1067, a lifetime member of the Retired Officer Association and a member of Ridglea Country Club.

Survivors: Wife of 48 years, Betty Kay of Fort Worth; brother, Floyd Hobson Jr. of Hobbs, N.M.; sisters, Joyce Bidelspach of Wichita Falls and Ruth Croft of Bedford; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Alma K. Luttrell
STEPHENVILLE -- Alma K. Luttrell, 91, a homemaker, died Friday, July 18, 1997, at an Erath County hospital.

Alma Luttrell was born Oct. 20, 1905, in Knox County. She was a member of the Hillcrest Church of Christ.

She was preceded in death by husband, Andrew Luttrell on June 6, 1978.

Preston Steedley Newsom
WEATHERFORD -- Preston Steedley "Burr" Newsom, 72, a retired inspector, died Saturday, July 19, 1997, at a Weatherford medical facility.

Funeral: 10 a.m. Monday at the funeral home. Burial: Central Cemetery, Parker County. Visitation: 2 to 9 p.m. Sunday at White's Funeral Home. Family will be present to greet visitors 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.

Preston Newsom was born May 10, 1925, in Parker County. He lived in Parker Country his entire life with the exception of three years he served in the Navy during World War II. He retired from General Dynamics Corporation after 36 years of service. Mr. Newsom and Dorothy Wright were married Nov. 24, 1945. He was a member of Oakridge Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers and three sisters.

Survivors: Wife, Dorothy Newsom of Weatherford; son and daughter-in-law, Aaron and Jayne Newsom of Weatherford; grandchildren, Lacie and Bryan Newsom of Weatherford; and sister, Una Shifflett of Fort Worth.

Ruth Peterson
CLEBURNE -- Ruth Peterson, 94, a homemaker, died Friday, July 18, 1997, in Cleburne.

Graveside service: 9:30 a.m. Monday in Rose Hill Cemetery in Cleburne.

Ruth Peterson was born Feb. 3, 1903, in Hamilton County.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Otis Peterson, in 1959.

Survivors: Son, Don M. Peterson of Bedford; daughter, Betty Le Fevre of Cleburne; three grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

Helen H. Radliff
FORT WORTH -- Helen Horton Radliff, 97, a retired 17-year U.S. government hospital supervisor in the Budget and Fiscal Department, died Friday, July 18, 1997, at a local hospital.

Funeral: 10 a.m. Monday at Forest Hill Presbyterian Church. The Rev. John Hare will officiate. Burial: Laurel Land Memorial Park.

Memorials: Salvation Army Friendship House Home League or Forest Hill Presbyterian Church.

Mrs. Helen Radliff was born Aug. 16, 1899, in Fort Worth in a two-room log cabin that was at the present location of Forest Hill Drive and Forest Hill Circle. Her parents, John R. and Olive Horton, were pioneers in the area.

She had been a member of Forest Hill Presbyterian Church since 1911, being the oldest member at the time of her death, and was a member of the Eastern Star, Polytechnic Chapter 420.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 58 years, Sydney M. Radliff, in 1982.

Survivors: Nieces and nephews, Mary Helen Myatt, Lon and Virginia Stephenson, Darlene Myatt and Diane Modisett, close care-givers and several other nieces and nephews.

William Rothrock was born Jan. 14, 1927, in Nashville, Tenn.

Survivors: Wife, Janette Rothrock of Fort Worth; sons, Randy and wife, Becky Rothrock of Euless, Jimmy Singleton Jr. of Godley and Jeffery Lynn Singleton of Fort Worth; daughters, Carol Odle of Richardson and Karla and husband, Kevin Huckabee of Granbury; and 10 grandchildren.
