Sheldon was born Dec. 7, 1987, in Amarillo. He was a graduate of Gruver High School and moved to Canyon three years ago.

Sheldon worked at Cactus Feedyard as the fabrication shop office manager. He lived life to the fullest.

He was a very special person and was loved by all. He touched many lives and loved the Lord.

Sheldon never pretended to be more than he was, and he was so much more than he ever imagined himself to be.

Sheldon's ambition as listed on his senior yearbook profile was "to have a positive impact on each person I come in contact with," and he definitely did. Sheldon was true to himself and true to his word.

As he described himself on MySpace, "I'm a very easygoing, easy to get along with, go-with-the-flow kind of guy. I know I'll end up exactly where God wants me to be. So, I'm basically just taking my life one step at a time and lovin' every minute of it. I'm trying my best to stop this whole growing up thing, but nothing seems to work, so the least I can do is always try to stay young at heart. I have some of the greatest friends and family ever, and I know they are gonna be there for me if I ever need it. I'm always gonna be myself, what you see is what you get. So be prepared."

Sheldon ended up exactly where God wanted him to be, but it was much too soon for those of us left behind. We will miss him more than can be put into words.

He also loved writing music and playing the guitar and attending concerts.

He was the most sincere person who stayed true to himself.

He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Fredrick A. Camp.

Survivors include his father and stepmother, Scott and Tasha Atwood of Vega; his mother, Frances Atwood-Frost of Amarillo; a brother, Shane Atwood of Vega; a stepbrother, C.J. Hess of Vega; and his grandparents, Phyllis and Harvey Atwood of Gruver and Helen Camp of Kenedy.
