Ronald Dale Hunt
(February 7, 1950 - September 10, 2011)

TIOGA - Ronald Dale Hunt, 61, went to be with our Lord on September 10, 2011.

Ron was born on February 7, 1950 in Gainesville, Texas to Jimmy and Florence Hunt. He married Eva Garner Freeman on March 30, 1973. Ron was saved and a member of Tioga Assembly of God Church. He also was a member of Denton County Harley Davidson Motorcycle Club. He worked for Lone Star Transportation in Gainesville for 27 years and was currently employed at Brammer Pipe and Steel in Gainesville. Ron is a graduate of Collinsville High School. He loved his family, friends, riding his Harley and restoring his old Chevy car.

Survivors include his wife of 39 years, Eva Hunt of Tioga; a daughter, Rhonda Brewer of Collinsville; two grandsons who he adored, Hunter and Garrett Brewer of Collinsville; mother, Florence Hunt of Collinsville; brother, Kenneth Hunt of Collinsville and sister, Liz Reedy and husband, Lee Roy of Sanger.

Ron was preceded in death by his father, Jim Hunt; grandparents and father-in-law, John Freeman.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 A.M. Tuesday, September 13, 2011 at Meador Funeral Home Chapel in Whitesboro with Rev. Frances Carter officiating. Interment will follow at Mt. Zion Cemetery in Collinsville. Visitation will be at the funeral home from 6 P.M. until 8 P.M. Monday, September 12, 2011 at the funeral home.

Pallbearers will be: Jeff Freeman, Bill Worthy, Buddy Pierson, Jr. Whisenhunt, Terry Whisenhunt, Steve Stone and Mark Allen.

Richard Earl McKenzie
(October 12, 1931 - September 11, 2011)

BONHAM – Richard Earl McKenzie passed away September 11, 2011 in Bonham, Texas. Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Meador Funeral Home in Whitesboro, Texas. He was born on October 12, 1931 in Fairbury, Nebraska. He was on the Professional Bowling Tour sponsored by Coke a Cola. He bowled a perfect game. He served in the US Navy from 1950-1954 and was honorably discharged. Dick was in the liquor business for Eddie Draper for many years. He retired and moved to the Gainesville Boat Club where he resided from September 1994 until 2005 when his health declined. He moved to assisted living at Clyde W. Crosper Texas State Veteran’s Home where he lived a full life; playing pool, outings to Wal-Mart for his favorite food – macaroni and cheese! His character and body stature were bigger than life. I have such fond memories of Dick riding his golf cart through the GBC with a HUGE cigar stuck in his mouth. He could be trailed by the smell of the cigar. At other times, he would attempt to take his dog, Popeye, for walks which were a sight to see. Popeye was large, strong and dragged Dick around like a ragdoll. We still share tales of his legacy and have many laughs. He will be missed. He is survived by his children: Carla McKenzie, Deborah McKenzie Shaw, and Douglas McKenzie: grandson, Shane McKenzie and wife, Ciera, and great-grandchildren: Wyatt, Max, and Riley of Portland, OR; brother, Dean McKenzie of Fairbury, NE; sister, Doris Creigton of Lenexa, KS; friends: Herman and Cheri Greene of Gordonville, TX; Eddie and Sharon Draper of Gordonville, TX; Tim Sherry Neu of Denton, TX; Monty and Betty Nation of Gordonville, TX; and John Weaver of Gordonville, TX. He was preceded in death by his parents, Earl and Hazel McKenzie; and his sister, Vern McKenzie-Harrison of Dallas, TX. Memorial services will be at the Gainesville Boat Club on October 2, 2011 at 1:00 p.m.

Geneve Louise Cummings
(November 6, 1923 - September 20, 2011)

Gainesville – Geneve Louise Cummings, 87, went home to be with her Lord on September 20, 2011. She passed away at her home in Gainesville. The family is planning a private memorial service at a later date. Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Meador Funeral Home in Whitesboro, Texas. Geneve Cummings was born on November 6, 1923 to Earl and Elva Fowler in Mena, Arkansas. She married Marvin Wayne Cummings. She was a very spiritual woman, a full Gospel believer. She lived for her family. She is survived by her daughters: Louise Weaver of Gainesville, TX; Linda Blackstone and friend, Bill Morgan, of Collinsville, TX; Barbara Roberts of Gainesville, TX; June Knight and husband, Jerry, of Callisburg, TX; son: Earl Wayne Cummings and wife, JoAnn, of Gainesville, TX; sisters: Earlene Hughes of Bakersfield, CA; Betty Brunce of California; and Winnie Lee Puryear of Amarillo, TX; and Bonnie Lange of California; nine grand children; thirteen great-grandchildren; and 8 great-great grandchildren. She was proceded in death by her husband, Marvin Cummings, and her brothers.

Henry Claud (H.C.) Anderson
(November 7, 1942 - September 21, 2011)

SADLER - Funeral services for Henry Claud "H.C." Anderson, 68, will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Sept. 24, 2011 at Meador Funeral Home Chapel in Whitesboro with Gene Deckard officiating. Masonic Graveside Rites will immediately follow the service at Allison Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. Friday, September 23, at the funeral home. H.C. passed away on Wednesday, Sept. 21, 2011 at his home in Sadler. H.C., also known as "Honey", "Poppy" and "Uncle Honey", was born on Nov. 7, 1942 in Dexter, Texas to Leon and Velma Viola (Greene) Anderson. He graduated from Sadler High School in 1961. He married Drew Murrell on March 17, 1961 in Sherman. He was a Mechanical Technician Engineer for Texas Instruments - MEMC, retiring in 1998 after 33 years of service. He dearly loved his family and hunting and shooting - Guns! Guns! Guns! Survivors include his wife of 50 years, Drew Anderson of Sadler; a son, Gregory C. Anderson and wife, Elizabeth Ann of Sadler; a granddaughter, Juanita Bryan Anderson; a grandson, Aaron Jacob Anderson; and a sister-in-law, Della Skerkis and husband, John. He was preceded in death by his parent, Leon and Velma Anderson; 2 brothers, Albert and Donald Ray Anderson; and a sister, Norman Viola Anderson. Pallbearers will be C.J. Roger Dale Shubert
(January 22, 1950 - September 24, 2011)

COLLINSVILLE – Funeral services for Roger Dale Shubert, 61, will be held Wednesday, September 28, 2011, at 11:00 a.m. at Meador Funeral Home Chapel in Whitesboro, Texas with Rev. Ricky Jonas officiating. Interment will follow the service at Tioga Cemetery with Rev. W. F. Starnes. Family visitation will be Tuesday, September 27, from 6 – 8 p.m. at the funeral home. Mr. Shubert passed away on September 24, 2011 in Denton, Texas. Roger Dale Shubert was born January 22, 1950 to Otis and Josephine (Barns) Shubert in Mississippi. He married Mary Prince on February 14, 1969 in Dallas, Texas. He was a Pentecostal Church of God minister. He enjoyed fishing and hunting. He loved the Dallas Cowboys and Collinsville Pirates. He is survived by his wife, Mary Shubert of Collinsville, TX; daughters: Sheila Lewis and husband, Allan, of Collinsville, TX; and Shellie Carnal and husband, John, of Lewisville, TX; grandchildren: Matthew, Mark, Luke, John, Nolan and Ryan; and Brandi Brule, bride-elect of Matthew; his brothers: Junior Roden, Bobby Roden and Benny Shubert; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Otis and Josephine Shubert.

Richard Lee Worstell
(October 15, 1930 - September 24, 2011)

Richard L. “Rich” Worstell, 80, passed away Sat, Sept 23, 2011. Rich was born on October 15, 1930, in St Louis, Mo. He attended Lutheran parochial elementary school, high school and graduated from Brayton School of Aeronautics in St. Louis. He had a lifelong passion for flying, started flying at age 13 and obtained his pilot’s license at age 16. He was involved in aviation his entire life and he w as never happier than when he was flying or messing around with airplanes. He loved teaching people to fly and working with pilots to improve their flying skills and a better understanding of their airplane. He was able to fulfill his dream of building his own seaplane and he was recognized by the FAA for his lifelong commitment to aviation. After being in the Air Force, living in New Mexico and California, Rich moved to Texas. For over 30 years, he has been the driving force that built Cedar Mills on Lake Texoma into the beautiful marina and resort that it is. Rich was an avid sailor. He brought Valiant Yachts to Lake Texoma and built these semi-custom boats here for 25 years. The sailboats he built are being sailed worldwide enabling many sailors to fulfill their dream. He has been very active in EAA (Experimental Aircraft Assn), QBs, Lake Texoma Assn and Faith Lutheran Church along with other aviation and boating organizations over the years. Because of his fun personality, caring nature, perseverance and leadership, he was loved by many and will be sorely missed. Rich is survived by his wife Jan of Gordonville, daughter Karen Sue and husband Mark Armer of Sadler, sons Kris and wife Molly, and Randy and wife Karen both of Gordonville as well as grand children, nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his son David and brother Fred. The memorial service for Rich will be held Thurs., Sept. 29th at 2 pm at Faith Lutheran Church, 1823 N Luther Lane, Gainesville. There will be visitation after the service. The family requests that in lieu of flowers, memorials be made to Faith Lutheran Church or the American Heart Association.

James Calvin Cox, Jr.
(June 1, 1922 - September 22, 2011)

GAINESVILLE – Cremation arrangements for James Calvin Cox, Jr., 89, are under the direction of Meador Funeral Home in Whitesboro, Texas. A private memorial at a later date is being planned by the family. He passed away September 22, 2011 in Ft. Worth Texas. James Cox was born June 1, 1922 to James Calvin Cox, Sr. and Alcia (Buckner) Cox in Currie, Texas. He married Norma Geraldine “Jerry” Carter on January 10, 1942 in Pampa, Texas. He served in World World II in the Coast Guard. He worked in the oil field, ending his career as a supervisor. He loved fishing and enjoyed playing bingo with his friends. He loved to sing and to play guitar. He often quoted poetry and had a love of words. He loved people, enjoyed making jokes, and teasing friends and family. He was a devoted family man and the best father. He is survived by his daughters: Cynthia Roberts of Gainesville, TX; and Jerriann Kygar of Gainesville, TX; grandchildren: Stephanie Siems and husband, Loren, of Whitesboro, TX; Leslie Vinyard and husband, Doug, of Vici, OK; Cindy Smith and husband, Ray, of Whitesboro, TX; Kelli Yount and husband, Steve, of Blanchard, OK; Jeremy Cox and wife, Sheila, of Georgetown, TX; and Donnie Cox of Denton, TX; eleven great-grandchildren; and two great-great grandchildren: Dakota and Syndi; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife, Jerry Cox; his sons: Bailey Cox and Donnie Cox; son-in-law, Rusty Roberts; grandson, Jimmy Joe Kygar; and sisters: Paloma, Theda, and Jo.

Don Lance Stone
(December 8, 1938 - September 26, 2011)

SHERMAN – Funeral Services for Don Lance Stone, 72, will be held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, September 29, 2011 at Meador Funeral Home Chapel in Whitesboro, Texas with Rev. Mike Flanagan officiating. Interment will follow the service at Dixie Cemetery. Family visitation will be held Wednesday, September 28, from 6 - 8 p.m. at the funeral home. He passed away on September 26, 2011 at Texoma Medical Center in Denison, Texas. Don Lance Stone was born December 8, 1938 to Orval M. and Ruby Gladys (Collum) Stone in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. He married Carol Marcia Greenwald on December 19, 1975 in Ardmore, Oklahoma. He was a member of the First Baptist church of Whitesboro. He was the founder of Don’s BBQ in 1976. He was a very self-giving man, always willing to help. He never met a stranger and was soft spoken. He was the perfect family man. He is survived by his wife, Carol Stone, of Sherman, TX; daughters: Darlene Kirby and husband, Terry, of Howe, TX; and Janet Stone-Dodson of Coppell, TX: sons: Darren Stone and wife, Christi, of Whitesboro, TX; Neil Barford and wife, Sharon, of Whitesboro, TX; and Richard Barford of Ft. Worth, TX; brother, Dalton Stone and wife, Betty, of Whitesboro, TX; and sister, Betty McCall of Denton, TX; ten grandchildren: Cynthia Stone, Aaron Stone, Bruce Hendershot, Blake Hendershot, Christina Durcan, Brandon Dodson, Tiffany Brantley, Courtney Barford, Jacob Barford, and Joshua Barford; five great-grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews, and friends. He was preceded in death by his son, Gary Don Stone; his parents, Orval and Ruby Stone; a brother, Tommy Stone; and two sisters, Charlotte Stone and Mozelle Stone. Pall bearers will be Bruce Hendershot, Blake Hendershot, Aaron Stone, Terry Kirby, David Johnson, and Darren Stone.

Rex DeVault
(December 22, 1916 - September 27, 2011)

EULESS - Graveside Service for Rex DeVault, 94, will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 1, 2011 at Oakwood Cemetery in Whitesboro with Rev. Robert Kelly officiating. No formal visitation is planned. Services are under the direction of Meador Funeral Home in Whitesboro.
Rex passed away on Tuesday, Sept. 27, 2011 in Euless.
He was born on Dec. 22, 1916 in Leonard, TX to Calvin "P.I." and Georgia Ann (Bunch) DeVault. He married Frances Sheegog in June of 1938 in Marietta, Oklahoma. Rex served in the United States Army during WWII and was a Baptist Deacon. He retired as service man from Southern California Gas Company after 20 years of service. He is survived by 3 sons, Jerry DeVault of Euless, Michael DeVault and wife Danielle of Waco, and Jim DeVault and wife, Patti of Irving. He was preceded in death by his parents, Calvin "P.I." and Georgia DeVault; and his wife, Frances DeVault.

Nancy Ann Newcomb
(October 16, 1953 - September 28, 2011)

Family visitation will be Friday evening, September 30, from 6 – 8 p.m. at the funeral home. She passed away on September 28, 2011 in Sherman, Texas. Nancy Ann Newcomb was born on October 16, 1953 to Walton Thomas and Ida Mae (Hamby) Cundiff in Littlefield, Texas. She married Lewis Newcomb, Sr. on June 21, 2003. She is survived by her son Thomas Griffin and his wife, Cat, of Collinsville, TX; daughter, April McDowell and husband, Mike, of Aubrey, TX; grandchildren: Lanie Griffin, Morgan Griffin, Ashley Zercher, Woodrow Fairman, Kathryn Fairman, Rome Fairman; one great grandchild, Brooklyn Zercher; two brothers, Donald Cundiff and Terry Cundiff; and her father, Walton Cundiff. She was preceded in death by her husband, Lewis Newcomb. Sr.; her mother, Ida Cundiff; her sister, Janis Cundiff; and her brother, Charles Cundiff.

Kimberly Ann DeLaGarza

POTTSBORO – Kimberly Ann DeLaGarza, 47, of Pottsboro, TX passed away Wednesday, December 14, 2011 at Texoma Medical Center in Denison, TX. A memorial service will be held Monday, December 19, 2011 at 10:30 a.m. with Bro. Delbert Vest officiating at the First Baptist Church of Sherwood Shores at 1044 Hillcrest Circle, Gordonville, TX 76245. Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Meador Funeral Home in Whitesboro, TX. Kim was born on July 20, 1964 in St. Charles, Missouri to Noel and Norma (Goucher) Stewart. She was an employee of the Grayson Central Appraisal District for the last 7 and ˝ years. Kim was preceded in death by her grandparents, Jim and Ruth Stewart of DeSoto, MO; and her grandfather, Hubert Goucher of O’Fallon, MO. She is survived by her daughter Tiffany DeLaGarza; two grandsons, Colton and Mason; parents, Noel and Norma Stewart; sister, Cheryl Caskey; grandmother, Kay Goucher; nephews, Aaron and Zach Godwin; Kim’s partner, Richard DeLaGarza; numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins; and her friends and co-workers from the Appraisal District.

Weston G Cox

He passed away on December 18, 2011 in Collinsville, Texas. Weston G. Cox was born on September 1, 1931 to Ray and Lucy (Keele) Cox in Collinsville, Texas. He was a member of the Church of Christ in Collinsville. He worked as a dairyman. He loved working with cattle. He is survived by his sons: Michael Cox and Terry Cox and his wife, Kim, of Collinsville, TX; daughter, Tonda Doty and husband, Richard, of Denison, TX; grandchildren: Amy, Misti, Trent, Tiffany, Heather, Zack, Peyton, and Paige; 11 great-grandchildren; his twin sister, Wanda Overstreet; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Ray and Lucy Cox; and two sisters, Nadine Mitchell and Velma Matlock. Brant Krueger
(December 4, 1954 - December 22, 2011)

WHITESBORO - Funeral services for Brant Krueger, 57, will be held at 10:00 A.M., Tuesday, December 27, 2011 at the First United Methodist Church, 122 S. Union St., Whitesboro, Texas with Rev. Ken Hildebrand officiating. Interment will be held at 3:00 P.M. Tuesday at Moore Memorial Gardens, 1219 N. Davis Drive, Arlington, Texas. Services are under the direction of Meador Funeral Home in Whitesboro. Visitation will be on Monday, December 26, 2011 from 6 - 8 P.M. at the funeral home. Brant passed away on Thursday, December 22, 2011 at his home in Whitesboro. Brant was born on December 4, 1954 in Dallas, Texas to Sid and Patsy (Easley) Krueger. He married Miki Aamodt on July 28, 1984 in Grand Prairie, Texas. He graduated from Grand Prairie High School in 1973. He graduated from Southwest Texas State University in 1977 with honors, earning a degree in Political Science. In 1980, he graduated from South Texas College of Law earning a Doctor of Jurisprudence. He also passed the State Bar of Texas. In 1981, he served on the United States District Court, Northern District of Texas. He was a member of College of the State Bar of Texas, 1991. He was a member of the Arlington Bar Association from 1989 until his passing. He was a partner at Watson & Krueger in Grand Prairie from 1980-1982 and a partner at Watson Krueger Campbell in Grand Prairie from 1982 – 1988. He had solo practice law offices in Arlington and Whitesboro from 1988 to his passing. Survivors include his wife, Miki of Whitesboro; 3 sons, Jason Raye and wife, Christi of Florida, Dustin Raye and wife, Brandi of Austin and Mitchell Krueger of Whitesboro; a daughter, Kaylie Adams of Whitesboro; 4 grandchildren, Zoi and Parker Raye, Wyatt Raye and Marlie Adams; parents, Sid and Patsy Krueger; a sister, Teresa Julian and husband, Mark; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Sandy and Tommy Farrow and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father and mother-in-law, Elmer and Mary Aamodt. Pallbearers will be Mark Mancino, Brian Shadden, Mark Labhart, Bill Campbell, Guy Garner, and Craig Bishop.

Rev. Bobby Gene Rowe
(June 17, 1931 - December 25, 2011)

COLLINSVILLE – Funeral services for Rev. Bobby Gene Rowe, 80, will be held Thursday, December 29, 2011 at 10:00 a.m. at the First Baptist Church of Collinsville with Rev. Bobby Fletcher and Rev. Dan Eakin officiating. Interment will follow the service in Collinsville Cemetery. All service arrangements are under the direction of Meador Funeral Home. Family visitation will be held on Wednesday, December 28, from 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home. He went home to be with his Lord on December 25, 2011. Bobby Gene Rowe was born on June 17, 1931 to Robert Floyd and Iva Lee (Measles) Rowe in Sulphur, Oklahoma. He married Alva Reed on June 15, 1952 in Collinsville, Texas. He served as a minister since 1952. He pastored at Mt. Carmel, TX; Albany, OK; Three Way in West TX; Boyd Baptist in Bonham, TX; Crutchfield Baptist in Sherman, TX; Bolivar Baptist; Bradford, PA for 10˝ years; Manor Baptist in York, PA for 20 years; served as the police chaplain for 10 years in York, PA and was the hospital chaplain for 17 years in York, PA. He was currently the pastor at Ambrose, TX. He loved woodworking. He is survived by his wife, Alva Rowe of Collinsville, TX; his son, Dr. Thomas Rowe and wife, McKim, of League City, TX; daughter, Sharon Ross of Collinsville, TX; grandsons: Cory Ross, John Ross, Theodore Rowe, Thomas Rowe, Timothy Rowe, and Taylor Rowe; and two great-grandsons, Korbin Ross and Easton Ross; brothers, Burl Rowe of Texarkana, TX; and Billy Rowe of Garland, TX. He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Iva Rowe; and his sister, Nell Rowe.

John Royce Heath

He passed away on January 2, 2012 in Denison, Texas. John Royce Heath was born in Lewisville, Texas on February 2, 1935 to Roland O. and Alice M. (Santerre) Heath. He married Edna Virginia Hurst on February 17, 1956 in Carrollton, Texas. He was a veteran of the U. S. Army. He worked at Texas Instruments for 20 years. He was a business man, a cattleman and a real estate agent. He was a member of the JayCees. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Whitesboro, Texas. He is survived by his son, John Heath and wife, Shirley, of Sadler, TX; daughter, Gina Miller and husband, Butch, of Montgomery, TX; grandchildren: John Heath, Brittany Heath, Andy Miller, Luke Miller, Rachel Miller, Jill Ferrell, Heather Flanagan, and Carrie Manuel; brother, Ernest Heath of Lewisville, TX; and sister, Norma Jean Oldham of Nocona, TX. He was preceded in death by his wife, Virginia Heath; his son, Douglas Dwayne Heath; and his parents, Roland and Alice Heath. Pallbearers will be J. J. Heath, Lenny Hurst, Merle McKay, Butch Miller, Larry Squires, Naylan Van Zandt. Honorary pallbearers will be Hal Byrd and James Heath. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Parkinson’s Disease Foundation, 1359 Broadway, Suite 1509, New York, NY 10018.

Connie Marie Barnett
(August 2, 1945 - January 3, 2012)

POTTSBORO - Funeral services for Connie Marie (Moncrief) Barnett, 66, will be held at 10:00 A.M. Saturday, January 7, 2012 at Meador Funeral Home Chapel in Whitesboro. Interment will follow at Liberty Cemetery in Gordonville. Family visitation will be from 7 P.M. until 8 P.M. at the funeral home.

Mrs. Barnett passed away on Tuesday, January 3, 2012 at Methodist Medical Center in Dallas.

Connie Marie was born on August 2, 1945 in Calhoun, Alabama to Claude Moncrief and Edna Louise Cline. She married Bobby Joe Barnett on August 27, 1962 in Gainesville, Texas. Connie was a homemaker and enjoyed painting and watching television. She loved her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

She is survived by a sister, Vivian Friburg and husband, Duane of California; a brother, Thomas Moncrief and wife, Betty of McAlaster, Oklahoma; grandchildren, Chris DeBord and wife, Mia, Brittney Karr and husband, Jeremy, Gregory DeBord Jr., and wife, Aubry and Tori DeBord. 9 great grandchildren.

Connie was preceded in death by her parents, E.O. Strader and Edna Strader; husband, Bobby Joe Barnett and 3 siblings, Linda, Steve and Teddy.
